After a recommendation to use Happy Endings from our primary vet, we called on Dr. Fixler when we had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye to our dog Sadie, who was quickly declining. It was the week of Thanksgiving and Dr. Fixler accommodated an after hours visit that same day given the situation. Dr. Fixler and his assistant were very compassionate, explained things well, and acted quickly to make sure our Sadie was given the most peaceful transition possible. If I could offer one suggestion, it would be pre and post communication with an email confirmation and status update on cremation. I called several times, they were always helpful and answered my questions, but proactive communication would improve the experience. read more

I'm so glad I found this place. Nothing more traumatizing than having to put your pet down, especially if the animal is frightened and it's in a foreign place that you don't feel comfortable. This made the experience so much easier, and the privacy allowed me to mourn the way that I needed to. The vet and tech were extremely gentle and soft and kind, it really just made this process that much easier. As much as I appreciate this company, I wish I wouldn't have to use them again, but that is the price we pay for having animals, and with that being said, I have two other cats, so I will definitely be using Happy Endings in the future for when I have to make another hard decision. Just as others have said here, I am so grateful for Dr. Fixler and Alicia. I called them to come to my home to put down my 13 year old border collie. He has a lovely demeanor - as does Alicia - and right away, Lucas was up and dropped a toy at his feet. Dr. Fixler did an exam and we discussed Lucas' symptoms and care and he told me right away that he didn't think Lucas was presenting like a dog at the end of his life. He had some ideas and the followed up with me the next day - called in prescriptions and referred me to a vet that has managed to stabilize Lucas. With luck, he'll be with me for a few more years. I know that Dr. Fixler has followed up with Dr. Newland- his referral - regarding Lucas' care. I love that there is great animal care out there and that there are vets that really care. Dr. Fixler is exceptional. And when the time comes, he will be called to my home again. I can't imagine a kinder, more lovely way for any of my animals to be treated - to be given an easier way onward, in surroundings they know and love. read more
