He was very clear and open about a pre-existing stain on a white top, which is a huge plus! My go-to wash and fold (and dry cleaner) in the area for the past 3 years. I have 2 other cleaners much closer to my apartment, but I keep coming back here because the staff are the kindest people in the world. The owner and his wife are open the latest in the area every night of the week, their prices are reasonable, super convenient location by the Q and they take exceptional care of your clothes...but above all else, they treat you like family. When I developed a fragrance allergy, they bought the kind of detergent I could use. When my laundry bag ripped, they sewed it back together for me as a surprise. When they saved up enough money to visit family in China, they returned with a sweet laundry nametag for me and a hand mirror. They always will turn around same day service for me. LOVE angel X's! clean, friendly, affordable, and fast. I usually do my own laundry at that nameless place next to h& h bagels, but i was very put off one sunday morning at 9:45am when i showed up there with a huge duffel bag. the man pointed to the sign that said 10 AM, and after mouthing through the window that I wanted to just drop it off, and would be back in 15 minutes, he shook his head and walked away. for a moment i had a mini breakdown on the sidewalk to myself, and in the meantime (as i happened to be petting a labradoodle puppy and pondering my next move, still standing outside of the place, I saw a man walk up to the door, have a similar mouthing conversation with the same man, and then be let inside with his bag. i was appalled. but! i didn't fret any longer. i whipped out my yelp app, found Angel X's and was on my way! at angel x's, the man and the woman working there were each exceptionally nice, friendly and helpful. I felt very comfortable leaving my laundry there- being the first time I had ever had my laundry done (gasp!). i returned a few hours later to pick up my clothes and sheets- all perfectly folded, smelling nice and fresh. i recommend this place to anyone on the UES. note- i only had sheets, towels and cotton clothes. i did not have any dress shirts / fancy stuff. it's funny how one company's service (the place next to h & h) can only make you walk away, find the next closest/best place on yelp, and become a loyal customer elsewhere. i am so happy i found angel X's- i will definitely be back! read more

After reading Joanna's review I decided to give Angel X's a try especially since its just a couple blocks away! I've never had my laundry done by anyone else before so i've definitely never had anyone pick up and drop off either... but it was a rather disgusting weekend and the last thing on my mind was laundry...nonetheless it needed to be done because it had been far too long. So I called on Sunday, and a man speaking VERY little English picked up. He was having a problem getting my address right so i was skeptical but he managed to make it over about an hour later. When he left I realized this guy doesn't even know my name, all he has is my number and my address. I was afraid that I would never see my clothes again! However, the next day around 8 pm, he showed up like he said he would with my laundry neatly folded in the bag...all my articles of clothing intact and separated by type...all for just $13!!..an entire laundry bag full... I have a feeling this one time thing might become a habit. I might never do laundry again! read more

I have given them so much $, with both dry cleaning and wash and fold. The last time they did the wash and fold, my red panties were washed with my white shorts, and they were folded and given back to me pink, as were two of my white shirts. I took them back immediately, and they did bleach them and turned them white again. This morning, I just opened my laundry bag I picked up, and it is MY laundry bag with someone else's clothes. Do not go here; the guy is nice as can be but they're completely inadequate. read more

I have been using Angel X's for quite a long time now.Since this location became Angel X and was taken over by the nice people now there. At first they used very fragrant laundry soap and softener.The laundry was strong but I am one who likes strong,good smelling clean laundry. I assume that people must have complained about having good smelling clothes,or used the "allergy alibi" as the laundry now is not as fragrant. But-do not be discouraged! They do a wonderful job! The nice folks here pick up and deliver my laundry after doing it! They even take my dry cleaning! I do not use any other service nor do I plan to. They are timely, they do not lose things, and they are very polite. Being a housewife,my husband is not home to pickup and drop off the laundry...and with all the stairs I am unable to do it. I chose this place since I live on the same street. I had an expensive pleated dress that I brought to dry clean and it was ruined. I will attach some pictures before and after... It was ironed and you can't call this dress pleated any longer. It looked awful. I didn't hear any apologies. I was told that it will be sent to a special place to be fixed and it will take about 3 weeks. When I stopped by after 3 weeks, the dress wasn't ready... I was leaving abroad for a wedding and was hoping to wear the dress. Maybe it is just me who had a bad experience ... The dress was fixed but it is not the same. It is my first time to write a bad review. After this incident, I never came back.... read more

DON'T GO HERE. Sexist and rude. Go across the street- they are far nicer a and have better prices. The man at Angels and his wife do NOT care if they damage ur clothes. I had been washing my clothes their for almost a year and after one load ALL my clothes were all shrunk with pulls and tatters-over $230 worth of items that I specifically asked to be washed on cold and low heat. Also If they do ruin a piece they throw it out and don't tel you hoping you won't notice. When asking for a refund the nasty man laughed and tried to push me out of his store and started yelling at me in his language. When trying to get my point across to his wife who seemed a little more understanding and willing to help he told her to NOT help me and send me out and kept laughing making fun of my gender as a woman. This is a great place for both wash-and-fold and dry cleaning. Yale always provides excellent service and has carefully and successfully removed stains from both dry cleaned and laundered clothing. Angel X's is convenient, reasonably-priced, and provides great service! I definitely recommend it to anyone on the UES. read more

Do not come here. They ruined my custom made tuxedo shirt then tried to return it to me without letting me know. It came back with a large yellow spot and when I went back he offered to rewash it but only grudgingly, I came back to pick it up and it wasn't in plastic and it did not seem like he even tried. Bad customer service, he didn't seem to care, too many other options to risk coming here. read more

Super efficient, same day service. The only part I don't like about this is that you have to save your ticket because they don't enter your name in a system. I almost always lose it, so have to keep it handy in my bag and bring it back so that they know how to find my order. read more

Ever since I moved into the city 2.5 years ago, as I do not have a washer/dryer in my building, this is where I got my laundry done, pants altered, etc. Man and his wife are very nice, I even baked him brownies for Christmas once. He ruined a couple of shirts of mine but kept going to him and figured it was a mistake. THEN I finally built up enough trust to bring him my $200 pottery barn duvet cover to wash and asked him to be extra careful with it (prior to this I had been bringing it home to Long Island to wash myself). It's my favorite thing in my apartment, don't even let my friends sit on my bed. It came out fine so the next time it was dirty I once again gave him pretty clear washing instructions and again asked him to be super careful. Picked it up and assumed that it was great and clean and when I unfolded it to put on my bed there were HUGE rust stains across a section of the comforter that were not there before I had dropped it off. He fought back and claimed it was not his fault and tried to wash it again but at the end of the day, it was completely ruined. I insisted that he purchase me a new one if he could not fix the problem he created and all he did was refund me the $10 he charged. I'm living on a pretty tight budget and am now going to have to find an extra $190 to fix his mistake. Use your own judgement but I will NEVER go there again. read more

My last apartment had a washer & dryer in the unit, so I was hesitant to allow anyone to do my launder as I work in fashion & have many of expensive, particular pieces. After extensive research, I decided on Angel X's. I hit the jackpot! As many of reviews have already mentioned, the man & woman who run the cleaners are a tad difficult to understand, but going in to their shop (as opposed to calling, requesting a pick-up, or any other method) your first time will ease any worries you may have about the care of your clothes. My first time coming, I had about a dozen dry-clean pieces alongside a hamper of wash & fold. The gentleman told me it would be finished in three days, but me being very last-minute & impatient, I urged for a sooner finish time. He smiled & told me it would be finished tomorrow, no expedite charge. Great business! read more

So I have been coming here to have my work shirts dry cleaned for a solid 2 months. After I picked up my shirts the 5th or 6th time I noticed a huge black stain on the front of one of my shirts. I went back and told him that there was a stain there that was not there when I took the shirt to him. He denied that it was there when he returned it to me and said that it was my fault. We argued for about 10 minutes and then he offered me a dollar and change to make me go away. The shirt he ruined (which was not more then 1 month old) was about $80, so I angrily left and told him I would never return to his establishment again. I would highly suggest you try a different cleaner and pay a little bit more because you will end up paying way more when he ruins your clothing. read more

I have been sending my cloths to them for more than two years for both laundry and for dry clean. Their service has been consistently good, and they are especially good at explaining how different cloths would respond differently to dry clean. 99% of my cloth came back from dry clean without any problem. The only time it did, they fixed it at no charge and my cloths looked like new. read more

Angel X's is great! I have been living on the upper east side for 6 months now and I have been using them for laundry and dry cleaning every two weeks. They are fast, reliable, and you clothes are all nicely folded and placed back inside your laundry bag. They do hang dry for no extra charge and the prices are reasonable. It is a married couple that runs the place and they are friendly, a bit hard to understand but they do a great job with laundry! I also believe they will pick up and deliver your laundry if you call and ask. I have never done this though. read more
