Margherita slice with added pepperoni
Kathryn T.

A change of plans last weekend meant meeting new foodie friends and joining them at Angela's Pizza for my first visit. I know what you are thinking - did it live up to the hype? My answer is an enthusiastic "yes!" We ordered two pizzas, a Pepperoni and a Margherita for our group to share. We sampled a few slices while we waited including a Bianca that I loved. All of the pizza was delicious and now I'm looking forward to trying the meat lovers and chicken ranch next. Our visit ended on a delightful note of talking with Angela and her sister. I loved listening to Angela talk about her passion for creating her pizza spot and pride of how well it is doing. It was one of those feel-good moments we cherish when supporting local small businesses.

4pm on a Wednesday and there was no line. We called our order in and then took it to go. There is a small counter spot but not enough room for multiple people or to eat a whole pie. Staff was friendly. We LOVED our pizza! Great flavor, good amount of toppings, yummy crust. Highly recommend!

This spot has been getting a lot of buzz lately and now I fully understand why. As someone who grew up on Long Island, walking into Angela's instantly felt familiar. That classic grab-a-slice energy. No frills. No gimmicks. Just proper NY-style pizza waiting behind the glass. My first-visit rule always stands: one cheese slice one pepperoni slice It's the baseline test. The pizza résumé. The truth serum of any slice shop. Angela's passed with flying colors. The crust had that perfect fold with just enough chew. The sauce-to-cheese ratio was locked in. The pepperoni had that slight cup and crisp on the edges. Every bite tasted like leaving school, linking up with friends, and spending lunch money exactly how it was meant to be spent. I absolutely love a good by-the-slice shop and Angela's is doing it right. Honestly, it's probably a good thing I don't live closer... because my self-control around this place would be nonexistent and my weekly slice budget would become a line item in my finances. Jax Beach, you've got a serious pizza gem.

I can't say enough good things about Angela's pizza!! We ordered a large pepperoni pizza. As it was cooking Angela was concerned that a hole was forming in my pie. She immediately offered me 4 extra slices. The pizza actually turned out perfect! She still gave me the four extra slices. I love the energy in this place. You can tell Angela truly loves her business and loves making pizza! Keep up the good great work!!

Looking for NYC Pizza in JAX? Here it is! I am impressed. The crisp and taste of the dough, the perfect ratio of cheese to sauce, they got it down. Did they deliver NYC water here to get the dough to taste like that?? LOL! The only caveat is that the stock is kind of unpredictable if you go there on a whim like we did. We were lucky enough that what they had left, 2 cheese slices, 1 margarita slice is what we needed. I asked to add pepperoni cups to my cheese slice. My husband said it would be better if you called ahead of time to order a pie because when we got there they were telling people it was 1 hour wait for more pizza to come out. It is a true hole in the wall since there's no seating. There's only a ledge outside but it can only fit a couple of people. However that's okay, my kid enjoyed eating out of our trunk hehe. Mind the parking too, it's not alot in the front. You may have to park in the street after the small center its in.

Alright soooo this place has been talked about online so much that I just had to try it before the New Year. I truly enjoyed my slice tonight! I walked up to the restaurant not sure why there were several people just hanging around the window waiting. I assumed they were waiting to order but some nice gentleman informed me that they were waiting for their pizza so I could go in to order. I walked in and proceeded to place an order for a whole pie but when the cashier informed me that the wait would be an hour, I quickly changed my order to one slice of each piece that that already had made. My husband and I shared a slice of the Margherita pizza. He is from New York and he is super picky about his pizza. His comment was "wow, wasn't expecting this!" The pizza sauce, the crust and the ingredients were the perfect amount. The tomatoe sauce tasted like they diced up the tomatoes two seconds before I took a bite. The crust with thin, crispy and not super doughy. We enjoyed our slice and we are looking forward to eating the other slices when we get home. We will be back!

Cozy slice shop in Jax Beach

Well Jacksonville, we finally have a proper NYC style slice shop! Angela's in JAX Beach is the real deal: thin but flavorful crust, crisp bottom, perfect blend of cheese, and a bright tomato sauce. As soon as a took my first bite, I knew these people were the real deal: super nice Albanians from New York who have long been slinging slices. Friendly and efficient, they were keen to know how I liked the pizza. Angela's is a tiny counter spot, mostly serving the take out crowd. At $4 their slice is great value. Thank you Angela for raising the bar in the Jacksonville pizza game!

Ok. I can't believe I hadn't heard of this piece of pizza heaven right in my back yard! Hubby and I didn't want to cook tonight and thankfully I got a message on Yelp for Angela's! Great reviews and photos so called her right up. 27 minutes later I get a text that my order is ready.... 4 min drive to pick it up... super friendly service and the rest is history! We normally have to ask for extra crispy crust to make sure its actually cooked, but not Angela's! Abundance of fresh toppings and just the right amount of sauce= Perfection! Will definitely be a regular!

Enjoy your pie at the beach just a mile away. It was still very hot.

This might be the best pizza in Jax. It's a walk up so you will not be dining in, but take your pie to go and enjoy. I'm not sure how to describe this pizza, other than delicious. The crust was baked to perfection, just enough crisp and eight to support the sauce and toppings. We had a half supreme, half margarita, and very satisfied. I will make this a regular stop when visiting Jax.

What a great new addition to Jax Beach! Angela's is a small pizza shop on Beach Blvd, there are no seats or tables. You order at the counter and can get them by the slice or the pie. Beware though, the line starts forming well before they open! We got 3 pizzas on NYE and showed up about 10 minutes before opening and waited about an hour for our pizzas. There is also not a lot of parking in the lot, so we ended up parking across the street at Publix and went back to the store after about 45 minutes since they said that the wait would be about 45 minutes - 1 hr. The pizzas itself were huge and delicious, my favorite one being the margarita! I don't know if I'd wait another hour for a pie but I'd love to go back to try more of their pizzas by the slice!

This is a damn good pizza! My boyfriend wanted to try this new spot so we headed over to Jax beach and was very happy with the results. The wait was pretty long but I can see why because this pizza is fresh and made with all the love! To avoid wait times I suggest getting there early.but great pizza!!

Friendly service and great pies! It is carryout only. They do slices. This is what Jax Beach has been in need of, literally forever. Great locals establishment. The art was done by a local guy, too and Mo did a great job helping create a cool NY vibe. Wishing them great success!

She always said it was more kid friendly than the Mandarin location. So we went. I have NEVER been so disappointed & disrespected by the level of service than at this location. We have never been so we were unaware that this location was similar to the downtown Jacksonville location. 1) We came in and we were not greeted. 2) No one explained to us that we would need to go to the left side of the establishment for full service/full bar. We ordered our food and were given a number just like the downtown Jacksonville location. We sat outside so we can watch our little one play, but apparently we chose the wrong side of the outdoor eating area. (No barrier to distinguish between the 2 sides) We were told we could NOT eat there. The server explained that this is for full service only. I wanted to order more as we were hungry. I thought, perfect. I can order an appetizer, a cocktail, and get my son some gelato while we waited. Again, we were told we can't eat here OR order food OR sit here. Mind you, out of all the 15 tables (both sides) only 2 were occupied. We were told, "You can't sit there either. (NO SIGNAGE TO DISTINGUISH THE 2 SIDES!) AND NO YOU CANNOT ORDER FOOD. You have to sit over there." Then the server asked, "Is that ok? (With an attitude). I informed the server, "NO. IT'S NOT OK." She didn't say anymore as we moved several tables over to the "designated area". This was our first time at this location & it will be our last! There was no apology or explanation that we need to go back inside to the front of the restaurant. None. We had no idea we entered the quick order side (there's tables on both sides.) I went inside & asked to speak to a manager. He explained that there's a hostess on the other side of the restaurant, (apparently there's more than one entrance). He said that someone should have explained it to us & said he would speak to the server. That was it. Nothing else. He tried to seat us in the full service but it was too late. I was so mad at driving 30 minutes after work, (I was still in my scrubs) to get treated that way that. I packed up my family of 3 & left. I am still so angry at the level of service I received. It was a huge disappointment. I hope that the Durbin Park location (once built) will have the level of service we are accustomed to receiving.

I've tried the Helles lager before and it is pretty smooth. The place has a funky retro like vibe now with the couch setup in the front. This is a good place to share a pie with a few friends. The tables are large and they stack the pizzas on a serving rack, so there is plenty of space to dig in. The pepperonis were very good and our kid ate it all up. He had three pieces to refuel from all the running around by the beach. The crust was crispy and flakey and the slice held up well. It is new york style without a soft center. I opted for the Jordan Ann, it has a white pizza base if that is your jam. I wanted all the veggie and peppers with my pizza and I liked it very much. The slice was able to hold it all together. Looking forward to trying some more of their slices!

Delicious cheesy, buttery flavor, yummy marinara sauce on the side. A great appetizer. We also ordered a cheese pizza and a pepperoni pizza. Both were very good! Crispy crust with a nice chew. Lots of cheese. Only thing to note was the pepperoni was all-beef pepperoni. Neither of us noticed this on the menu. I didn't mind it but the texture was a bit different than traditional pork pepperoni. Hubby wasn't a huge fan. All in all, good pizza spot. Nice craft beer selection as well!
