Can confirm, this is arguably the best slice in Jacksonville area. It has a nice, crispy crust on the bottom of the slice, which is just perfection. Almost zero flop! Service was top notch and fast! Ok I've been twice just for slices, and to me it's just average pizza. In Angela's defense I do need to order a whole pie in order to truly rate this place. Parking is a PIA and it's def take out only. That being said this place was slammed on a friday night, and all the employees and cooks appeared cool as a cucumber. Food was great. I'm always Leary about slices cause they usually aren't as good but our were amazing. Hot crunchy fresh. Dough is a standout. Really holds up. So good. We tried Bianca, pepperoni, meat lovers, and chicken ranch. We ordered a whole vodka to take home. The whole pizza was beautiful. So good and crisp cook was perfect. Toppings fresh. A change of plans last weekend meant meeting new foodie friends and joining them at Angela's Pizza for my first visit. I know what you are thinking - did it live up to the hype? 4pm on a Wednesday and there was no line. We called our order in and then took it to go. There is a small counter spot but not enough room for multiple people or to eat a whole pie. Looking for NYC Pizza in JAX? Here it is! I am impressed. The crisp and taste of the dough, the perfect ratio of cheese to sauce, they got it down. Did they deliver NYC water here to get the dough to taste like that?? LOL! The only caveat is that the stock is kind of unpredictable if you go there on a whim like we did. We were lucky enough that what they had left, 2 cheese slices, 1 margarita slice is what we needed. I asked to add pepperoni cups to my cheese slice. My husband said it would be better if you called ahead of time to order a pie because when we got there they were telling people it was 1 hour wait for more pizza to come out. It is a true hole in the wall since there's no seating. There's only a ledge outside but it can only fit a couple of people. However that's okay, my kid enjoyed eating out of our trunk hehe. Alright soooo this place has been talked about online so much that I just had to try it before the New Year. I truly enjoyed my slice tonight! I walked up to the restaurant not sure why there were several people just hanging around the window waiting. I assumed they were waiting to order but some nice gentleman informed me that they were waiting for their pizza so I could go in to order. I walked in and proceeded to place an order for a whole pie but when the cashier informed me that the wait would be an hour, I quickly changed my order to one slice of each piece that that already had made. My husband and I shared a slice of the Margherita pizza. He is from New York and he is super picky about his pizza. His comment was "wow, wasn't expecting this!" The pizza sauce, the crust and the ingredients were the perfect amount. The tomatoe sauce tasted like they diced up the tomatoes two seconds before I took a bite. The crust with thin, crispy and not super doughy. We enjoyed our slice and we are looking forward to eating the other slices when we get home. We will be back! read more

Best NY style pizza I've had since moving here to Jax. They open at 4 so get on line. Order your slices while you wait for your pie. Our favorite was the white pizza followed my the regular & then the margarita. I know a lot of people love their margarita but I'm not a fan of chunks of tomato on by pizza plus it was too sweet for me but still good. Crust is thin with lots of crunch and just a tiny flop at the tip. My only regret is that it's too far from my house. read more

This might be the best pizza in Jax. It's a walk up so you will not be dining in, but take your pie to go and enjoy. I'm not sure how to describe this pizza, other than delicious. What a great new addition to Jax Beach! Angela's is a small pizza shop on Beach Blvd, there are no seats or tables. You order at the counter and can get them by the slice or the pie. Beware though, the line starts forming well before they open! We got 3 pizzas on NYE and showed up about 10 minutes before opening and waited about an hour for our pizzas. There is also not a lot of parking in the lot, so we ended up parking across the street at Publix and went back to the store after about 45 minutes since they said that the wait would be about 45 minutes - 1 hr. The pizzas itself were huge and delicious, my favorite one being the margarita! I don't know if I'd wait another hour for a pie but I'd love to go back to try more of their pizzas by the slice! read more

Pizza, like many of you I'm sure, has played a large role in my life. Pizza and bowling parties as a kid, as a main source of food during my college years, and something quick and easy to agree on when figuring out what to feed the family. And, as I've gotten older, I've learned about and tried many different kinds: deep dish; bar pizza; New Haven; Detroit; Sicilian; wood-fired; Roman. Roman? Whatever. Apparently its a kind of pizza. But my favorite remains a good ol' fashioned New York style pizza. It's what I grew up on and frankly, when I think of pizza I naturally think of a slice from the City. So recently, when I started hearing about a new place at the beach called Angela's that apparently made some great New York style pizza, well naturally I was curious. And as the glowing reviews continued to pour in across social media, I became more than curious. I knew that I was going to have to try the place. The pizza. But how? You see along with almost every review was a horror story of how it takes hours to get a pie. How no one answered the phone to even take an order. How the line was out the door and into the parking lot. So I waited. Until yesterday. My lovely wife called and almost immediately got through. We ordered two cheese pies. Now, don't get me wrong. I like lots of different toppings on a pizza. But I figure that to get a good understanding of a pizza I've never tried before I need to go basic. Cheese. We were told about an hour and fifteen minutes until it was ready. So we waited. After about an hour we headed over. Angela's is located in a tiny strip mall on Beach Blvd. Across the street from the bowling alley. The parking lot is tiny so parking can be a challenge. The pizza place itself is tinier. There's nowhere to sit so plan on taking your pie home. Or perhaps have a picnic next to the tattoo parlor. Whatever works for you. It was a rather chilly day, so while there were several people waiting in their cars and trucks for their orders, no one was lined up outside. We walked in, gave our name, and the nice young woman rang us up and grabbed our pies off of the oven. Score! It does have the look and feel of a New York pizza place. Big old pizza ovens. Boxes everywhere. There were a few pies out for individual slices, but I think they go rather quickly. Which we did as well. Go rather quickly home, as the smell emanating from the boxes was quite heavenly and my mouth was watering. Look, the pizza from Angela's was really good. Was it the best pizza I've ever had? No. But is it better than pretty much all other pizza you can get at the beach? Absolutely. We had a couple of friends over to try the pizza as well and they liked the pizza as well. It reminded me a lot of the old Biggies, before it moved to the location by Jax Spice and sadly went downhill and closed. The slices at Angela's are big, the sauce is slightly sweet and the cheese is salty - almost too salty according to my wife. The crust is tasty but perhaps a little underdone. We put some slices into an air fryer for a few minutes and what was a good slice of cheese became a great slice of cheese. So I recommend a quick heating up when you get your pizza home. I do look forward to trying Angela's again for their toppings. Or perhaps a slice of Margherita. Maybe we'll go bowling after. It'll be a party. read more

Heard about their reputation and food. Drove 45 minutes, one way. Got there 30 minutes before they were scheduled to open. We went on July 4th and wanted an entire pizza pie but were only selling by the slice which end up costing $15 more. Now, the good..the pizza was thin and cheesy, the crust was a little too charred for me but all in all it was good. I ordered a pepperoni and cheese. The bad, we arrived a little after they opened. I was told the wait would be an hour. We sat in the parking lot for an hour. I went back in to check and of course it was not ready. I had to pick up my son from practice so, I had to leave, drive 20 minutes to pick him up and drive back for the pizza!‍ When I got back the place was packed with no parking. All in all good food. Had a great pie we ordered a cheese and a sausage pepperoni. We phoned ahead with our order and it was ready in 35 minutes. They texted us when it was done. Parking lot and business is a very busy place but so worse the food the help was easy to order from over the phone took my name and phone number and as I mentioned texted me as our order came up the place is really small and unique with no dine in, but it may be the best pizza outside of Chicago but especially in Jack's Beach. There was a rubber band in my pizza!Jacksonville has a lot of pizza places, and I don't think there was very much that set this one apart. Crust is a little bit hard to chew, hurts the jaw. However my biggest disgust is that I found a rubber band in my sauce! Thought it was cheese, almost choked on it and pulled it out realizing it was a clear plastic rubber band. Very good thin crust pizza. Not easy to do in Jax but Angela's is at the top. You can tell that they take pride in the quality of their pizzas. I had 2 Margherita slices. Was wondering if this was fresh locally made Mozzarella di Bufala. I'll definitely be back. Hopefully as their legend grows El Presidente will be stopping by. I'm going 7.9 with Davinci's thin crust at a 7.8. This is in comparison to John's of Bleecker in NYC at a 9.2. So right now to me they are without a doubt #1 in Jax. read more
