I have been to this Donatos location 3-4 times in the past few years. They are just across the intercoastal bridge and bonus, they have a drive-thru for pick up. And a few designated spots in the front if you want to go inside to pickup. On my last visit, I ordered a margarita pizza and Tai chili wings. We sat outside as it was a lovely Spring night. They brought our food to us. I was impressed with the pizza. There was a balsamic glaze drizzle on top. That was original and added a nice flavor! The wings were OK. The drums were a little fatty for my taste. But the drums were good and the sauce was tasty. I suggest giving them a try. read more

I have tried this place several times and I just can't understand how it has 4 stars, the pizza is not good at all. I love all kinds of pizza but this is just bad. I believe the dough is the problem but I couldn't even tell you what style this is, I would prefer papa John's. We used the service window, and one employee was kind to us, the other was so rude when we asked for ranch we knew we had ordered and paid for. She insisted on checking the system and when the other employee confirmed we had, she angrily shoved it at us in our car. Definitely wouldn't go back. Best pizza and subs ever!! I have to drive an hour when I want Donatos, & while that's a pain, I t's still worth it!!

I ordered Donatos for a Saturday lunch just to try the place as I had never tasted their pizza. I liked the idea of having toppings that went to the edge of the crust and I usually like thin crust pizza when it's done well. My order was simple - a 10-inch pepperoni pizza and an order of asiago cheese bread with garlic. When it arrived, the pizza was a little lopsided but it had a pretty good taste to it. The crust was thin but it was not greasy and the pepperoni was soft and plentiful. The cheese bread on the other hand was not good. It was burnt and had cheese topping it that wasn't consistently spread across it. It was thick in some areas and thin in others. The flavor wasn't great and mine didn't come with the marinara sauce that was advertised. This wouldn't be my "go to" spot for pizza. Yum! We all love Donatos Pizza in this house! We ordered online for a window pick up and our order was ready, on time and exactly what we ordered. The girl at the window was so friendly too! We ordered 3 cauliflower crust pizzas...2 four cheese and 1 veggie as well as a medium thin crust with sausage, pepperoni, onion and peppers. When I went to their website (few weeks before Valentine's Day) they were offering heart shaped pizza! I had to order it! My husband loved his pizza! I love pizza as much as Oprah loves bread. So when Donatos was listed as a yelp event I was eager to try it. The style of pizza is not new to me, in Maryland they have a place called Ledo's that bakes and cuts their pizza in a similar way. We ordered our usual, pepperoni, sausage and extra cheese pizza with a side of breadsticks and wings. The wings are DYNOMITE. The sauce to chicken ratio was perfect. My wife seemed to really like the breadsticks. Now when it came to the pizza, I made a mistake and ordered extra sauce. I thought the photos from the others customers showed a dryer style pizza. I know next time go with regular sauce. The toppings to dough ratio were good and I feel like we'll order from Donatos again when we're out at the beach. read more

#ThankfulThursday My T.T. Shoutout goes to Donato's Pizza; my new pizza joint BFF and Jacksonville's first and only edge-to-edge pizza shop. I often get that "hoodafukyouthinkyouare" look everytime I request a pizza shop to stretch their ingredients all the way to the edge and quite honestly, they screw it up anyways. Donato's edge-to-edge solved this for me. I love a crustless pizza. The less crust the better, that's just my preference. So I have been wanting to try this place since they opened many months ago. I always hated negative reviews that said they didn't like a type of food after going to a restaurant that served that food. Like, a 2 star review of a sushi joint that ends with, well I kinda don't like sushi. Sooooo, I don't want to just end with a review implying I don't like Ohio style pizza. Not that I particularly dislike thin crust, but I think it's easy to overload these. There has to be a balance of crust, sauce, cheese, and topping. But you know what? That's also a bit of ignorance on my part because I don't have much experience with this type of pizza. Otherwise, I wouldn't have ordered pies with so many toppings right off the bat. If I ordered this thin crust again, it would be a cheese pizza or pepperoni. Hmmm, maybe the spinach chicken mozzarella. If you look at food the way I do, that's what I personally recommend. Don't get anything with too many meats and other toppings, not even the Founder's Favorite. It also occurred to me that compared to other crusts, you don't want to let this one sit because it'll lose that perfect initial crispiness. So we lose some of the texture in these by only having them as takeout/delivery. I got the hot chicken pizza on a hand tossed crust. It was pretty good, although I didn't think it was all that different from some chicken pizzas I've had elsewhere. The pickles really make it work. *sigh* 4 stars it is. Really tasty counter service pizza place that is an answer to my daughter's VEGAN PRAYERS. Both of my daughters are allergic to dairy and gluten, so when I saw the vegan options they were EXCITED. We had a little snafu our first go round as their ordering system would not show "no cheese" on the order. No problem, I called them and they made everything right and I drove and they picked up the corrected version. Here is what's we tried: Pepperoni - my son says you rate a pizza joint by its pepperoni and he was quite impressed. Smaller size pepperoni that curl up up on the ends, just right. Favorite - why doesn't everyone put banana peppers on pizza, so good! Four Cheese - toxic to my daughters, but my wife and son loved this. Hawaiian - I did not try this one, mostly because it was gone. Gluten Free Skinny - Really delicious, our version had no cheese but it was still delightful. Gluten Free Its all Greek to me- Really good, and perfect for a dairy free pizza. Order online, thru their app, or call in. And it'll be ready when you get here. plentiful parking and service couldn't have been better. Out at the beach and happened to be close to Donatos and had heard good things so wanted to check it out! We got a large pizza with sausage and green peppers, I really like it they cut it across the whole pie into squares! It leaves these little crispy edge pieces that are great! It looked yummy, on first bite my first thought was the crust was unusual, like thin cracker crust with corn meal on the bottom!? But as I ate more I really liked it! We decided to try Donatos tonight for an early dinner delivery and for the most part were pleased. Online ordering was a breeze, pizza arrived at the time stated, delivery person was nice, and the items were hot. We ordered an order of the cheese bread with marinara sauce, a side salad, a small half veggie half cheese pizza, and a large pepperoni pizza. I thought the food was good for the most part. The bread was a little overcooked and charred on the bottom. My husband did not care for the pizza crust on the pepperoni pizza. He got the thicker choice, as he doesn't like really thin. Glad to have more tried multiple menu items from Donatos. I think the most important thing to remember when ordering/eating Donatos is that this is NOT New York style pizza. This is thin crust pizza from the Midwest. With that said, my favorite is the Cauliflower Heat pizza. If you like spicy, this is it. Plant based sausage, jalapeño, crushed red pepper and pepper jack cheese (in addition to the normal cheese they put on the pizza) on a cauliflower crust. I opted to sub tomatoes for the pepper jack since there is already cheese on the pizza and it was fantastic. They gave me a free cauliflower heat on regular crust as well bc they messed up making it the first go round. Comparing the two, the cauliflower crust remains my favorite. Also tried the Nashville hot chicken pizza which was also good. Will be back for more! Donatos is thin crust with edge to edge toppings and cut into squares. Quality of ingredients is good and workers are friendly. I prefer the spicier pizza options here since the sauce is sweeter than I normally prefer. If it's your first time, get the cauliflower crust or the original thin crust. The thicker crust is still thin but soft. Toppings are pretty evenly distributed on each piece. read more

We had a taste for some pizza a couple of weeks ago, and we are close to the beach so we looked in Yelp and Donatos came up. I was skeptical because of them being famous for the square slices, I am not a square slice personal but I was able to go in and get the regular slices. So my wife ordered a pepperoni pizza, I got mines special, it had chicken, extra cheese, with banana peppers. It was great, I wont be eating pizza for another 3 months because I am focused on getting my body right for the summer time. I placed a large order for an event at my house and asked that it be ready by 7:15, as everyone was arriving at 7:30. I arrived at 7:12 and the young lady behind the counter told me that it would be a couple of minutes. At first, I was frustrated thinking it would not be ready. I was pleasantly surprised my order was ready at exactly 7:30. I sheepishly apologized and can only say that they were 100% true to their word. If I could leave zero stars I would. I ordered on line to pick up at the window. When I got to the window it said please ring bell for service. The was no bell to ring. I sat in my vehicle for 5 minutes before someone showed up at the window. After giving my name it took another 4-5 minutes for her to get my order. I picked up late dinner from Donatos on moving day a few weeks ago. I called and placed the order for pick up because we are outside of the delivery area. Six hungry adults were able to share 4 pizzas and we still had some leftovers. Here's what we ordered: Large Pepperoni - My personal favorite! I love the small cupped pepperoni slices they load on this pizza! Large Hot Chicken - Hubby's top pick. Perfect heat with a nice cool down coming from the pickles and ranch. Large Hawaiian - This was a bit different for me but I still enjoyed it. The shaved ham and pineapple were very good, the cinnamon takes some getting used to. My sister really liked this one. on Sunday Jan12, we ordered a pizza at 6:17. It was supposed to arrive at 7:06. We received it at 7:55. We called twice to follow up. The girl answering the phone said she didn't know when it would be there and the driver didn't have a cell phone. We called back half hour later. She says the driver was stuck in traffic. Then she said the driver was 10 minutes away. My son had just driven Beach Blvd and there was no traffic. She lied twice to us about traffic and the cell phone. When I asked what is Donatos going to do if we don't get a pizza, she screams "I don't know" and hangs up. We got our pizza finally, it was luke warm at best and dried out. My very first Donato's Pizza Jacksonville Beach experience was today during Florida Georgia Gameday - very impressive and truly memorable!! My experience speaking with Miguel for my order placed via phone for 2 pizzas and 2 family packs for BBQ & Naked wings was excellent - with a 15 minute promise ready time, I was psyched to make the Donato's trek today. When I arrived, I was greeted immediately by both staff at the registers and felt like a "regular." The establishment is immaculate and I noted (for future eat in visits) the plasma screen already playing the college football games! In addition, Donato's is in the perfect co-location beside The Engine 15 brewery and terrific outdoor seating! I was pleasantly surprised that the owner Justin brought out my order personally and took the time to chat with me about his business that he started in June 2020 and his involvement/sponsorship of a local Flag Football Team as well as Patton Park. Lots of goodness here! So not a surprise that the food is supremely delicious! Loved the gluten free crust Hawaiian with savory Ham, pineapple and Donato's special add of Cinnamon! The thin crust pepperoni pizza was very tasty as well - the square cut slices were perfect to maximize pizza for everyone! This location is not close to my house- but is closer to my in-laws~ so I took an opportunity to order when I had to pick parents up from the airport! Easy, delicious dinner. I called in my order and had a special coupon thanks to Yelp. They have a drive thru- which is VERY CONVINIENT! I pulled around and they had just finished slicing up my pizzas! To start the salad, was really fresh and tasty, lettuce was super crunchy. We were told their most popular pizza is the founder's favorite, which we ordered and did not disappoint. The banana peppers were perfect and pizza was super cheesy, just the way I like it. Their garlic bread was really good too, came with a cup of marinara sauce for dipping... yummy! This pizza has become a favorite! We drive from St. Augustine once a week or so to eat here! It's always delicious and the staff is awesome!! The restaurant is always clean. We have learned to be patient when it comes to Donatos. We order on the drive down and then usually only have to wait 5 or 10 minutes once we arrive. The pizza is absolutely worth the wait!! We had heard this place had good pizza and decided to give it a try. We ordered one to go and arrived just as it was being taken out of the oven. Drove directly home and looked forward to trying it. As soon as we opened the box there was some disappointment as the appearance was not attractive. Immediately we could tell it was over cooked. The pizza was so thin that it had already lost its heat. We live only 5 min away! Besides the pizza being cut in tiny odd shaped pieces, due to being over cooked, the crust was difficult to bite through and was just awful. We ended up throwing almost all of it away. We ordered extra cheese and spinach which clearly was not what we got. The young lady at the counter was very friendly and represented the restaurant well. Solid Midwest pizza. For those of you from the East Coast, this pizza has a much thinner crust, uses real crumbled sausage (not a sausage link cut into slices) and is cut in squares (save me the middle pieces). Pizza was pretty good (doesn't compare to Rosati's - but that's further away and in the opposite direction) place was very clean, but not what I expected.....Not really a place to dine in - more of a take out place....and no fountain drinks - just bottles and Pepsi products :( We'll be back for take out.....because average Midwest Pizza is still better than the best NY/NJ in my book any day. read more
