Italia Chicago style pizza
Christine P.

The wait on Valentines Day was 25-30 minutes. The place was packed. Such a good sign. A funky vibe inside. There's four tvs inside. There is outside tables to eat at. The parking lot is small, so if you don't get lucky, there's street parking. The host was super nice. A booth opened up and because a party of 4 checked In Right after my Mom and I. They got the booth. We had to sit at a table. Not cool. Really not cool. I think that was messed up. The table we sat at held 4 people. Waitress very sweet. Very helpful. Got a draft Mich ultra-not the coldest :/ Ordered a large Italia New York style pizza. So the waitress came to us and said she messed up our large italia ny style pizza, so we got to try the Italia Chicago style pizza, at no charge! Both the Chicago and New York were a-mazing. Patricia was the best waitress. New York style was def my favorite. I will be back. I understand why the wait was 25-30 minutes long. It's great pizza. Great. Minus not getting a booth even though we got here before a party of 4.

I've reviewed Carmine's multiple times before and raved about the food, the friendly service, the casual neighborhood atmosphere, etc. I needed to review again because I had to point out that while Carmine's is know for its pizza, and subs, I don't know if people are aware that they make one of the best veggie subs around. It was amazing! This crispy eggplant, and great combination of peppers and veggies to fill it out. Just a really well thought out vegan option where you thought there might not be one. I feel fortunate to live so close and have Carmine's as one of our "go to" establishments for carry out. If you haven't tried them, I highly recommend you do.

Visiting Carmine's makes me feel like I'm in a borough with the neighborhood regulars on a Friday at 4:45 after a long work week. The bustling and busy decor means there's always something to entertain your eyes, and the quality ingredients mean you can indulge in your pizzeria faves without regret 3 hours later. I am a huge fan of their wings because they're breaded but still so crispy with sauce, their sauces are great, and even though they have "jumbo "in their name on the menu, they're not ridiculously large in that way that makes them not feel like wings anymore. Their sausage - which can be ordered on a sub or as a pizza topping, is in my opinion some of the best in the city. I would love to have an entire link of it with some pasta. The red sauce, which I've tried with both the giant meatball and the "chicky on a plate," (chicken parm) has a good texture and it's pretty standard. While this restaurant looks and feels like a classic old-school pizza spot, the menu actually has a lot of diversity and uniqueness.

Great size and tasting salad! This is my favorite salad at Carmines and they give you a lot of bang for your buck. The dressing is great! It's also so busy here, but I understand why. Richard provided great service and I hope to go back and try the pizza soon.

This is the vibe. All you need to do is see the signs and decor.

I was told by some co-workers that I needed to try this place and I'm so glad I did. The pizza I had was amazing I had a deep dish 10" Chicago style all meat pizza. Service was great, from the door greeter to the waitress I felt welcomed to the restaurant. The vibe there was great and it was pretty chill. Highly recommend anyone wanting a great pie to check this place out. I love little holes in the wall like this.

Everything that I ordered was good! Service was fine. Glad I decided to give it a try.

Solid pizza place offering both Chicago deep dish and New York thin crust. I went for the bad ass BLT and it was really good! I want to go back to try some other specialty pie soon, maybe that time with the Chicago style. What I really liked about the place itself and decoration is that you can tell it has been there for a while and it has kept its real essence. As for the service it was so friendly and helpful I wish I could remember my servers name to give her a shout out!

I'd give it a one star, but it was hot. Hot mess, albeit. Greasy. Cheese tastes cheap, ratio to sauce is off, resulting in ZERO structure. Watched my box sit for five minutes before getting it. Same thing has happened the last two times. An older gentleman (owner?) seems dead-set on getting in everybody's way, engaging customers that seem indifferent to an interaction. It is Jacksonville, after all - give me an antonym to "pearls before swine". Fukouttahea. 3.7/10

I went to Carmine's Pie House with my volunteer family. The atmosphere was inviting and friendly. The wait staff was very accommodating for our large group. The food was excellently prepared. Other groups were there as well as families. It is a great place to dine with a group or family. The food portions are large for the price. I will definitely return.

Carmine's online ordering and carryout for the holiday helping win! After evening baking everyday this week, I was ready to make dinner easy before making my next holiday cookie batch. Quick and easy online ordering with our order ready about 20 minutes later allowed me to eat dinner and get right to baking after work today. We ordered the veggie panini and the thin crust Boca Raton. The eggplant was the star of the panini with all the other ingredients complimenting it well. Glad we chose the toasted panini, the crispy crunch of the bread was great. Love the flavors of the pizza, I'm not usually a fresh tomato fan on pizza, but it works really well with the fresh spinach and cheese. As always, I just wish it was more of a "white" pizza, wanting more yummy ricotta. We love having Carmine's close to home for a delicious, easy meal option!

Owner response was a total class act. They care and it shows! I'm just adding to my previously given review. Fantastic place! Can't wait to try more items

Everything on the menu is delicious! Highly recommend trying the Greek feta dressing. Servers are super friendly.

When I get a craving for a taste of home (Chicago) in Jacksonville, I go to Carmine's. It's the best place to get a Chicago deep dish in Jax. Lots of very unique flavor combos to choose from. My favorite is the Isabella Rosallini.

Not only am I quite picky, I'm also Italian, and Catullo's absolutely gets it right. No corners are cut here as everything is made with quality and care. I HIGHLY recommend the lemon mascarpone cake. It is absolutely insanely delicious and reminds me of being back on the Amalfi coast. The meatball appetizer is also something truly special. Last time I went I had the scallop lemon pasta and it was perfect. Everything I've had is so good at Catullo's that merely writing this review is making me hungry! The restaurant is always busy, so show up early, but they treat every party with a personal experience. It's a small spot in a strip mall, and the inside has a fun sort of New York Italian American theme.

We started with the arincini and it was amazing! The goat cheese made it spectacular and the marinara is really amazing. I have always wanted to try the pear fiocchi because everyone raves about it and it is their best seller. But...I was not impressed. The servers seemed to know it needed help. Our server offered me crushed pepper and another server stopped by and offered chili oil and peppers. I got the sense they knew I didn't like it and it needed some flavor. But it was too sweet. Even though it is pear pasta, I assumed the added cheeses and sauce would balance out the flavor but it was way too sweet. Luckily they took it off the ticket and I was able to share lasagne with my husband and that was amazing. Just beware that if you order multiple things, make sure you get different sauces because if jt has red sauce, it will all taste the same. Vary up your flavors. Also we got the chocolate cake and my kids left half the cake on the table. They never leave cake behind. I will also add that my daughter got the child size Sunday Suppa with pink sauce and a meatball and she LOVED it. I am glad we went and explored the menu, but I am literally sad the pear pasta was not as amazing as I had hoped it would be!

Having said that what an awesome way to end my birthday with this amazing dinner that I had at this place. One of the best Italian restaurants in Jacksonville I must say. As soon as me and my wife walked in to the restaurant we were greeted and sat right away. The ambiance of this restaurant is truly amazing and very Italian vibe. We were greeted by our server MORGAN who was fantastic from beginning to the end. She suggested some incredible stuff that as a vegetarian I tried and was just amazing. For drinks we had mojito and pinacolada which was nice and refreshing. For appetiser we were recommended with Pomodoro Caprese which was amazing especially their Pesto sauce. For my entree she suggested me Luingini Josephine which was unique and nice pasta. Morgan surprised me with a dessert which was very kind of her. Overall this family owned small business is an amazing must try Italian restaurant. I can't wait to back and try more stuff. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Initially, we were going to Coopers Hawk, but forgot we had to make a reservation a year prior. We were told a 2 hour wait! That is wild given how big the place is. But again it is a Saturday night, and people were smarter than us and made reservations, and thus we left. After giving the news to ogre she full on had a rage attack in the parking lot screaming for those classic Coopers Hawk egg rolls. While we were consoling her I heard a soothing sound coming from behind the restaurant and we landed in front of Enzo's. We were greeted by the kindest owner ever who thankfully along with the help of her staff got us in with no wait, given how packed it was.. We were greeted by a very nice waiter who seemed all over the place though. I think he was definitely new, and was forgetful at times.. Anyways! We got three apps which were all fried stuff. Fried ravioli, Fried mozzarella sticks, Fried calamari. Honestly looking back kind of gross.. but they were solid tasting! Nothing out of the park at all on the apps just your standard.. a little tasteless on the calamari, but then again I had like 3-4 pieces because the ogre consumed them.. but then I got clarification from my good buddy bezos that it was kind of tasteless. The most tastiest was the fried mozzarella! Which shouldn't happen. Onto the entrees! Actually wait side reference note I initially ordered mussels with linguini. It was the worst dish of seafood and pasta I have ever had. I literally NEVER send stuff back, like literally never.. it feels inconsiderate and I feel like a bother even if it is just a little edible I would eat it with no complaints but I literally could not. It was so fishy I am now writing this nauseous. Some of the mussels were also closed, cold or broken.. it was just very very poor and I'm mad I had three mussels. The first one was crazy fishy, but I gave it another shot and then another, because I believe in second and third chances. But no, I was grossed out. Not to mention consuming all the fried prior. I also ordered a soup that was forgotten, and didn't get my cocktail sauce, but not really an issue if the dish was made to torture people with. Eventually I did get my soup and it wasn't bad! But now onto the entrees! Bezos: Chicken francese Tragic: veal parm Ogre: Chicken parm Doctor B Wife: Chicken Caprese Me: after the swap I got Veal Parm (thanks tragic) Oh and we had some garlic bread, but it needed some sauce or added flavor with it idk.. Reviews! Ogre: The chicken was good Wife: Mid Bezos: *yawn* ummmm Tragic: Italian stallion Me: the veal was solid, but that dish was so bad before that I lost all my appetite and I am just bleh.. and our waiter seemed a little lost.. again nice guy but come on. All in all we are grateful we were taken in by Enzo's and that owner seemed like she was a hardworking person that definitely can inspire her staff. I loved the piano playing, and the environment was really pleasant. Although me personally I disagree with the food, that dish was the worst ever, and our waiter again although nice was extremely forgetful. I feel sick to my stomach and I probably am going to vomit. But thank you again you gave us a good night and a place to eat..

I had the very simple rigatoni bolognese. Pasta was cooked to a perfect al dente and the sauce was really good. It was a little on the sweet side for me, but tasted pretty fresh! They also brought us out an "on the house" mushroom appetizer that was delicious. If you like mushrooms, get it! I also sampled the lobster ravioli (on special) and enjoyed it. I am not a huge lobster anything fan, but even I thought it was pretty good! I also had a glass of the house red wine blend they have and that was one of the best house wines I've had in a long time! Super smooth. Teeniest bit sweet. No aftertaste at all. The service was wonderful. Our waitress was attentive and very knowledgeable and just generally great. I had only sat in the bar area previously and thought it could get a little loud but I felt less so about the restaurant itself. The tables are nicely spaced from each other so you have your privacy. My only complaint (and not really a complaint a just a warning so no one is surprised if it comes up... ) is that they charge a $30 cake fee if you bring your own cake.
