Got pick up from here. Tried their spicy pepper jack pizza and wish it was more spicy. When we came to pick up everyone was so kind and pleasant! They might need to update their online ordering system to notify the customer that it's ready for pick up though. Real cute logo and story!

After four years of searching, I have found my primary pizza purveyor in Jacksonville: Emangeo's! I grew up in Connecticut and was raised on Sally's, Modern, and Zuppardi's. And while I love Jacksonville, it has been difficult to find decent pizza. The owners of Emangeo's are from Connecticut and it shows. The pizza is delicious: superb and flavorful crust, a bright tomato forward sauce, and a good balance of cheese. The bottom of the crust shows the high heat of their oven, though not as crisp or charred as is typical in New Haven. The pizza was absolutely delicious, and the vibe was also wonderful. The owners take great pride in their food and were genuinely pleased to hear that I enjoyed it. And for those in the know, they sell the full line of Foxon Park sodas. A ten-out-of-ten!

Sometimes pizza just hits the spot snd you can't go wrong with these folks based on our first time experience. We visited their Baymeadows location on a relatively busy Saturday and were impressed with not only the food but the fast and friendly service as well. We started with the pretzel served with some of the best beer cheese we've had outside of Chicago. We chose the New England "apizza" for its thin crust and weren't disappointed. We added mushrooms, onions, green peppers and ham. These folks aren't stingy with the toppings, although we felt the cheese and sauce were a bit thin. The fast casual restaurant has a relatively small seating area with six wooden booths and around 12 tables. The walls have several pizza paddles with cute sayings on them. Make sure to save time to read the timeline mural. It showcases the history of their business from tailgating to their two locations. The highlight of the restaurant is the giant brick pizza oven designed to look like the back of their food truck. Drinks included bottled beers, wines, sodas, and tea.

No flop on the New Haven style pizza!

I have to admit, I don't understand a lot of internet crazes. Let's take the "6-7" internet meme from last year. Some kid yelling "6-7" turns into millions of kids doing the same thing While making so weird "so so" hand gesture? Nope. Maybe I'm too old to understand what's hip and new. Wanna know what I do understand? Pizza. And if there is a new pizza place that's getting some attention, you can bet I'm gonna check it out. Which is what happened with Emangeo's Brick Oven Pizza on Baymeadows. Recently opened it suddenly started appearing a lot on my social media feeds. Which those crazy algorithms have figured out should only show me food! Emangeo's is a small restaurant. You wait in a line to order and then sit down. The restaurant isn't huge and I did see that quite a few people were ordering carry-out. The restaurant itself is bright and clean. As to the food? Well, Emangeo's gave me a chance to try New Haven style pizza without going to Connecticut. What's New Haven style? Think VERY thin crust (almost bordering on a cracker) with tomato sauce and VERY little cheese sprinkled on top. The cheese is Parmesan and not Mozzerella. It sounded odd to my NY pizza style sensibilities. It was fantastic. The sauce was really good. A deep, wonderful tomato flavor. The crust is slightly charred and holds up really well - there was almost no flop. Did it need more cheese or toppings? I really didn't think so. I guess you could add other toppings to the slice, but it is great the way it is served. The pizzas aren't huge, so I would definitely order larger than you initially think you should. As I was with friends we also ordered a New York style as well. That pizza was fine. The crust is different - I think it may be sourdough based. Is it what I think of as NY style? I guess its their interpretation of it. Overall I thought the pizza was tasty, but I wasn't blown away by it. While the New Haven style was a great pizza, their NY style was a good pizza. I've also seen some great reviews for the hot subs, but we didn't have a chance to try any of them or the pasta dinners on the menu. But from what we saw being brought out, all the food looked really good. So let's review. Good, clean new restaurant. A New Haven slice that I'd rate a 10. And the New York slice? A 6-7? Did I do that right? I'm so old. Go try some pizza at Emangeo's! Tell 'em the old guy sent ya!

For just opening they did well for getting lunch out. The buff chicken egg rolls and the knots with beet cheese were the star. I would def have that again. I was not super impressed with the New Haven pizza. I've had it before and this was ok but crust could have been more crispy. Apps are the key and I will say some of our party had a ny slice and it looked good. I'll give that a try new time

So after reading all the reviews we had to give Emangeo's pizza a try.We had a large sausage/pepperoni New Haven style pizza. great taste light and airy with the perfect char crust. Of course we had to try one of their 10in chicken sandwiches again great taste definitely enough for 2 people and that chicken seasoning was awesome. I did try the garlic knots didn't care for them due to the lack of garlic in the sauce overall great place and will definitely will be back soon.

Emangeo's has great cheese New Haven style. (My first time trying 'New Haven'.) The buffalo Chick NewYork style is a little over powered by bacon so I'd say no bacon if you get Buffalo Chicken. Wings were solid. Very friendly staff, explained difference in NY vs NH style. Ambiance is cool and lowkey. Nice lighting and a cool Jaguar-Jax mural. Will be back but be ready to have some $$ because it's expensive.

She was patient and very helpful as well. I ordered a bacon and mushroom pizza. My go to pizza. The places is simple: ovens, slice station, and the prep counter. Exactly what's needed for a pizza place. The mural on the wall listed the 5 boroughs and had the Brooklyn Bridge, as well as the Statue of Liberty. I mean, New York is there. The pizza came out fast and I got back. Here's the thing: Florida is notorious for having lackluster pizza. There's no ways around it. The pizza was cooked perfectly, thin, and a thicker crust. Perfect for folding. The sauce: not too loose and not too thin. Good amount for pizza, regardless of location. Flavor wise, not bad. Cheese and toppings had the right amount so it could incorporate into every bite. Now going back to my statement on Florida pizza. It's better than other Floridian pizzas I've had. It scratched the itch and I definitely enjoyed it. They'll get my business when I come back to Jacksonville!

The ham was below average, with one hard bit. My wife didn't like that there was so little pineapple in it. Our Napoleon pastry was pretty good, and I might get it again ($5 for a small one). We both preferred it to the brownie ($4). I don't particularly like brownies, but this one looked particularly appetizing, and the order-taker said it was one of her favorites, so we tried it. That was a mistake. Perhaps I should have tried the mini cream puffs, which are a favorite of mine (3 for $5), instead. Among other things I usually like, they had carrot cake for $7 and a cup of cheesecake for $9 (which seems steep). Their fruit shaped pastries looked beautiful (and a couple next to us said they loved the mango one), but were $12 each. Their fruit-topped Danishes also looked delicious, but weren't available any more at lunch time. They also offer milk shakes and loaded (sweet) croissants. There are only four stools here next to a bar, if you want to eat in. The bathroom was pretty good. I probably wouldn't come here again, but if I were in the area I might try some of their other pastries or sweet treats.

On May 16, my order was incorrect, so I called the restaurant and spoke with Sydney. She apologized for the mistake and explained that she had spoken with management. She assured me that a replacement pizza would be noted on my account and that it would be covered the next time I ordered because of the error. When I called today to redeem that replacement, I asked to speak with Sydney, but she wasn't working. Instead, I spoke with the owner, who told me that all order adjustments or issues have to go through him. While he explained how their system works and why he couldn't find the credit, he never offered to make the situation right, despite the previous commitment that had been made to me. What was most disappointing wasn't that there was confusion about the record--it was the lack of customer service. Had someone simply acknowledged the previous mistake and honored what I had been told, this could have been resolved quickly. Instead, I was left feeling like my concerns didn't matter. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. However, when a business promises to correct an error, customers should be able to trust that promise will be honored. This is not the first time my order has been incorrect at this location, and unfortunately, this experience has made me question whether I'll return in the future.
