I honestly cannot believe the reviews I've just read. My first appointment with Shahla was over 6 years ago to have my eyebrows done. It was actually two appointments that were scheduled, and both went without a hitch. I only had a few hairs for each brow and naturally dark hair. Shahla drew natural looking brows for me to look at BEFORE tattooing and although I was nervous I agreed. She applied a sufficient amount of numbing cream and the procedure was over in about 45 minutes if I remember correctly. At first I admit I thought they looked a bit dark and severe, but within just three or four days I was used to looking at myself with eyebrows again and was more than delighted with what she had done! You see, I had been drawing on my eyebrows daily with a combination of powder and eyebrow pencil for years. This task was taking between 30 and 45 minutes every morning. (Sometimes I even had to start over because they weren't the same height or thickness.) That was years ago. Due to a heavy work schedule and procrastination I just recently had Shahla re-do my eyebrows (basically from scratch once more.) She measured and re-measured. She drew on a slightly different shape brow than I was currently applying that looks more natural, and again applied a large amount of numbing cream. She let me relax with soothing music playing while the cream took effect, (about 20 minutes) and BEFORE starting had me double check the shape and color one more time. She was nothing but delightful, polite and extremely professional at all times. I am THRILLED AGAIN with her eye for perfection and her attention to detail. I now have beautiful eyebrows that look so real (with individual drawn hairs) that most people have no idea it's permanent makeup. My "before and after" photos are only one of literally hundreds of other extremely happy clients from Angelbare". I had my eyebrows done and Shahla did a beautiful job. I am very grateful. They are very natural looking with the hair-like strokes used, and no one knows I had them done with permanent makeup unless I tell them. She has great vision for where your eyebrows should sit on each unique face. She gave me a lift, reshaped, and filled in what was very scarce and misshapen to start. I no longer need to pencil them in, or add any makeup for darker, fuller color. I am very please and feel more confident and beautiful with one simple change to my face. Another positive is that the numbing agent used now is much better than in the past, and the process didn't hurt much at all! Healing and fading back down to normal after the initial makeup job only takes about 5days. And don't be scared immediately following! It initially looks darker, bolder, larger.. and takes a few days for the color to tone down to what it will really look like. I would be aware though, that the prices and info on the website are a little misleading. I have been to Shahla for my eyebrows twice now over the last few years, and each time the price she tried charging in person was more than advertised. Neither time did I get a second visit included in what I paid at the first visit; while the website leads you to believe two visits are included in the price. And prices will vary based on how much is done at any follow up/fill-in visit, so a price really cannot be set in stone until she see's what she is working with. Are you looking for the perfect job, well Shahla is the best! I have had a really low self-esteem and been very self conscious about my eyebrows, always worrying about them rubbing off. I would get so stressed when I would have to draw them on every morning, making sure they were totally perfect. Finally I decided to have them permanently done. I was nervous about the design and shape she would create for me. I decided to walk into her office with them already drawn on so she could get an idea about the look I wanted. It surprised me because Shahla came up with a totally different idea and look. After she had drawn them on with her outline I was so thrilled to see such a new look and I instantly fell in love with it! She did the perfect measures and she would keep checking to make sure that they are straight and lined up. She is a perfectionist which is so important when it comes to getting something permanently done .She made sure that I was totally comfortable and relaxed. After the treatment I immediately begun hearing compliments and what an excellent job she had done, saying how much they love my eyebrows and how natural it looked. It really changed my life! If she can do such a great job on me and having absolutely no eyebrows to begin with, she is truly an artist. I would recommend Shahla to anyone. After years of overplucking my eyebrows, I was left with very sparse brows. Then, as I began to age the color faded. Eyebrows are the picture frame of our face. Without them your face has very little definition. For years I used eyebrow powder, but on hot summer days this would wear off rather quickly. I always had to be careful not to wipe my brows, or could not get my face wet if I went swimming. I was very self conscience of this, but didn't know what to do about it. Through a friend I heard about Shahla and Angelbare. My daughter and I decided to get our eyebrows tattooed. That was a year and 1/2 ago. We go about every 6 mos. For a touchup. The discomfort is minimal and Shahla always makes us laugh. People cannot tell that my eyebrows are tattooed. When I tell them they can't believe it. I wish I knew about this procedure years ago. I realize that people have bigger issues than their eyebrows, but I'm a firm believer that if something makes you feel better about yourself, you need to take care of it. This is one of the best things I've done for myself. I had permanent cosmetics applied a few years ago and although the consultation led me to believe I would be getting what I wanted, I surely did not! During the actual procedure it felt like the technician had completely lost interest in my feedback and intended on going about things her own way. I wasn't at all pleased with the results and basically felt like I'd wasted a lot of money for a look I didn't like at all. After moving to Boston I came across Angelbare. Stay away from this woman. She will tell you how many certifications she has, that she is a teacher, etc. The problem is, she is not skillful at doing permanent cosmetics. If you are over 40, she will automatically tell you YOU NEED an "eyebrow lift" procedure. There is no such thing - you will look like you have pigment on bare skin that is not part of your eyebrow!!!! Thank God I did not let her do this to me. I DID have my eyebrows done, but IN MY BROWLINE and I am very happy with the results. If you really want an eyebrow lift, you need to go to a plastic surgeon, not a tattoo person. YOU WILL LOOK RIDICULOUS IF YOU LISTEN TO HER. I did let her do "lashline", in her color choice (a green). IT WAS OK, BUT FAR TOO LIGHT TO ENHANCE MY EYELASHES! ALSO-SHE PUT A GREEN SPOT BELOW MY LEFT EYE, WHICH I STILL HAVE (A CLEAR MISFIRE). I had this redone by someone who knows what they are doing and it looks much better. I have used AngelBare Permanent Cosmetic services in the past and recently returned for a touch up. I have had eyeshadow and eyebrow procedures done and I never looked back. My husband loves me for who I am--I know this--but before the treatment his compliments about my features started to wane. I've always been an attractive woman and the fact that my own significant other might not see me for the woman I am today was truly heartbreaking. THIS PLACE IS AMAZING !! TRUST ME ! A MUST READ!!!!!! While living in Mexico on an X Pat assignment for a Company. I learned about permanent makeup while complaining about being allergic to make up. I had it done and it was the BEST decision. Ten years later I made the decision it was time to have it done again. Recently I had a terrible experience of going to an establishment in RI for Permanent Cosmetics. They did an awful job! I looked like a clown! The color was too dark and too thick everywhere. I've been having Shahla do my eyeliner and eyebrows for a several years now. Since my skin and hair it very pale I have to have a touchup every couple of years. I was a little nervous at first, but through the process, I realized she knows exactly what she is doing. What I like most about her work is her attention to detail and that its doesn't look like my brows are "painted on". They look very natural. She has a large portfolio of before and after pictures to look at and really took the time to demonstrate to me the most beneficial look. I have been very lucky since the day I received the telephone number of Shahla Whitmore who has been very kind to me helping me improve some scar issues that I have. Using her skills in scar camouflage she has diminished the visibility of important scars that I have. I had my eyebrows lifted and tattooed and I've watied a while to write this review because it took time for my eyebrows to heal completely. It was a process for me as I didn't heal quickly and the procedure itself was painful. When I looked at my before and after picture, I could not believe I used to walk out the door looking like that and nobody ever said anything to me.
