Today the price of the hot stone massage became a negotiation, a back and forth, feeling like I was at an auction. Passed that I get to the room, old stained towels, sheets, the lady used what I believe to be Jergens lotion. Tons and tons of it ... driving home that all I could smell - so so disgusted by this place now that I will never go back. This review is just for the couples massage! The place is nice and clean. They have single use paper protection on all the beds to increase sanitation. We weren't told the names of our massage therapists and I never even got to see mine. This made me a little uncomfortable. I would've loved to interact with them before and after a little more. We had a deep tissue massage and woooww it was deep. Two days later and my entire body is still very sore. I can't really touch any part of my body without it hurting. I don't know if I will go back. There were a lot of things about the massage that I enjoyed but this after pain is unreal. read more

I was at TODS today for my first set of eyelash extensions. I've self applied many styles of lash strips so I went in fairly sure of what I wanted-fuller and longer, but not a full-blown club look. Being my first time I wanted something that wasn't a huge investment, but I also wanted to get silk or mink instead of synthetic hair. I took advantage of the Groupon offered - $85 off the regular $162. TODS is a beautiful, relaxing space. Everyone I dealt with inside was kind, accommodating, and patient. One concern was that I was immediately asked to lie down, and I had to stop the proceedings to ask to first look at the products and talk about the look I was after, and the woman working with me needed some help from the owner with translating my direction. No problem once we were clear, but I wondered what she was going to do without asking my preferences? Maybe some photos of different volumes and lengths to work with would help to make sure there's clarity in both sides. I didn't get names, but the owner and the other woman both worked on my eyelashes, with the owner giving some direction. I would have liked a little more explanation of what was going on (multiple things were taped to my face without warning), but otherwise the experience was fairly chill. Keeping your eyes closed for two hours is rough, and I wished I'd plugged in my earbuds and cued up a couple of podcasts, but I ended up napping most of the time instead. My relaxation was a little interrupted by a rigorous exercise class going on elsewhere in the building, but it actually ended up helping me to pass the time listening. I'm really pleased with how the lashes came out. I wish they laid a little straighter (for a more natural look), but the fullness and length is more or less exactly what I requested. The owner took care to explain, while giving me a dated card, that a fill within 3 weeks is $40, and as long as I return within the three weeks, they'll fill out the set no matter what shape their in. Even if I have zero extensions left, the fill is $40. I have no idea if this is common practice, but it sounds good to me! I was also given careful instructions about short term and long term care. I will definitely return before an event I have for Memorial Day. read more

I've only come here for the eyelash extensions so far. Celine(?) does an amazing job and she makes the process so easy and comfortable. It takes about an hour for them to put a brand new set on and if you get the first time customer deal, you get a free refill after 2 weeks. I've had mine for about a month now and I think I'd probably need to get them done every 3 weeks or so to keep them at their fullest. It really cuts down on makeup time and I haven't worn mascara in weeks. Definitely take care of them so you get the most bang for your buck. They will come out if you use oil based products or rub them too much. It took a few days to get used to that but you get used to being mindful that they are there, it's pretty easy to maintain. read more

Went in for a refill today with Tina and loved how my lashes came out. The first time I just got a natural look with volume. This time I got the "d cup" style. It's more curvy then the first time which I like a lot! I am very very very pleased with them :). I definitely will be coming back to get my lashes done periodically. For those of you who doesn't like to spend too much money on lashes, even without the groupon I think the prices are really good compared to what others have told me. This review is for the lash extensions - classic full set with the Groupon deal. This was my first time getting lash extensions and I'm overall super pleased with the results. My main complaint was scheduling an appointment. It took me around 2 days, 7 phone calls and 1 voicemail to get a hold of someone to schedule an appointment. I called during times that I knew they were open so it was frustrating not getting a response. I was totally prepared to lay there for two hours but surprisingly it only took 1 hour. The process was pretty straightforward - just keep your eyes closed and don't move. I recommend keeping your hair down since I had my hair half up and didn't realize how annoying the hair tie was on my head until 20 minutes in..whoops. I asked for a natural look and she did a good job doing just that. I have long lashes naturally so the extensions focused on volume and curl. I mentioned it was my first time getting lash extensions and while I did my research, I wish I got more advice on how to care for them besides "don't get them wet for 48 hours" and "don't use mascara". For example, I heard some places give out lash brushes after their appointment but that wasn't the case here. It's been a week and I did notice less lashes on after day 3-4. However it's not that noticeable and I still get compliments on the lashes a week later. I scheduled my refill appointment right after I got the full set. I thought it was odd that they recommend scheduling it 2 weeks out instead of 3 (it's called 3 weeks refill). That made me a bit worried about how my lashes were going to last. Most sites say that it should normally last 3-4 weeks. Overall a Groupon for around $80 for a full classic set AND 3 week refill is an amazing deal especially for a place like One Day Spa. I would recommend any lash extension regulars to take advantage of it. I'll give an updated review when I go for my refill that was included with my groupon. read more

They offered me options on how I wanted the extensions to look and explained everything. I had a mild reaction to the first glue she tried (good thing they spot check for a reaction before applying lashes) so she used the sensitive glue. I loved it because it wasn't quite traditional. She employed many types of techniques that left me feeling like jello an hour later. Customer service: First time I went I was on time for my appointment but had to wait 40 whole minutes to be seen because the lash lady "wasn't ready". After the service I was HARASSED for a tip like I've never been before. It was super uncomfortable. I'm usually not one to leave negative reviews. I visited the one day spa today. It was a gift from my husband, couple's facial. First impressions for me are very important. My facial was specific to my acne since I'm currently having issues after birth. Unfortunately, I have hormonal acne, currently being treated by my dermatologist due to my PCOS. My husband suggested the facial to see if it would help. I arrived and the ladies were very nice. I had mentioned that my facial was specifically to address my acne. I'm very self conscious of my face so I let her know why I needed the facial. Her solution to my hormonal acne is you need to wash your face. Not the response you say if you want your costumer to return. Lol not sure what to say. I'm tired of washing my face and trying so many different types of acne routines. I bought a Groupon for eyelash extensions full set + refill and have got both of them done so far. I was able to get an appointment in the first phone call and they asked some screening questions on that call including if I've done it before or if I am allergic to certain products, etc. When I got to the appointment, I saw that the place was clean and I was ready to have my lashes done right away - no wait time. The whole full set took about an hour for me and I think I even fell asleep in the middle... lol. For the actual lash results, I really like them - I sometimes even forget it's there because it's light and comfortable most of the time and looks natural. There are times when some lashes just look out of place but I think that it's just because my eyelashes are naturally crisscrossed so after I brush it out, it looks fine again. It's about $40 for a refill at a regular price so I am still trying to decide if I want to continue getting refills...but if wasn't for the money, I would definitely come back regularly! read more

I had eyelash extensions so that is what I will review. The salon is adorable, very clean, and has private rooms for the services. I am a first timer with extensions, but have seen them on other people and wanted to try it. I can say that the job they did was so impeccable - an hour was carefully taken to slowly adhere each individual lash - that I can't imagine it being better anywhere else. I can tell it is a delicate process and can easily be messed up, but my original lashes are completely invisible and the new are totally blended and follow my natural lash line. I've been here a handful of times to get manicures and pedicures and I've been very happy every time. I always walk in without an appointment and they can usually take me within 15 minutes. What I love the most is that even though they have nail stations this place doesn't smell like acetone and chemicals, it just smells, and feels nice with the tranquil music and water features. I wouldn't go back. I had a Groupon for a facial, my friend for a massage. The service "package" on the Groupon didn't have an equivalent on their services menu, so it was hard to decide on a tip amount too. They put me in one room, and after I was undressed and wearing the towel, laying on the table, they asked me to move to a new couples room with my friend. So, I got a facial, and she a massage, right next to each other - not exactly the most relaxing experience. After her massage ended, they left me on the table for about 20 min alone with a mask on my face before returning. Went here last week for the first to get a gel mani and pedicure. The pedicure was one of the best pedicures I've ever gotten, seriously! She massaged my legs and feet for a solid 10 minutes on each side. Talk about heaven. The gel manicure was good but it didn't last as long as other places I've been too which was kind of a bummer. I was extremely disappointed after my visit to this place. I came here on a recent Friday afternoon to relax and enjoy myself with a manicure and spa pedicure but I didnt get any of that, instead I had to listen a fellow customer seated in the chair next to me complain about the parking situation, and that wasnt the worst of it. The customer was going on about a parking standoff she had had with someone else trying to take "her spot" in the lot. The nail tech taking care of her felt the need to ask if the person trying to take her spot was "brown skinned or black?" Why an employee would feel the need to ask a customer a racially specific and discriminatory question is beyond me! I am not sure who was more embarrassed, me, having to listen to this or the customer adjacent to me who was speechless at the nail techs response. I think the customer may have remained silent or nodded so as not to give any type of verbal agreement. This establishment is RACIST. They will smile in your face and take your money but will not fail to associate themselves in racial or prejudice stereotypes and that is a pity especially being a minority-owned business as they are. Massage was to relieve pain from bulging discs in neck. Feels so much better. Massage is not one size fits all.
