Angelino is one of those cozy, romantic restaurants in Sausalito overlooking Angel Island and the city! Perfect for people watching, while eating some delicious Italian food with your loved ones. We arrived Friday night with no reservations and was seated in a booth looking out into the blue waters. We started off with some sparkling water and Italian lemonade. The menu consists of starters, pasta, pizza and entrees. They also gave us a small menu of their daily specials. We started off with the Vesuvio pizza which is a MUST get! Piping hot pizza with spicy tomato sauce, bell peppers, sausage and smoked mozzarella. It was the spicy sauce that made this pizza so delicious! For entrees, we ordered a few dishes to share: the ribeye steak (special), Linguine Vongole with clams, Scampi and Petrale Sole Meuniere (special). Every dish was flavorful, fresh with good portion sizes. I love that even the steak was not drenched in salt. Mild sauces and sodium bought out the true taste of the steak and seafoods. You feel the love in the food like home made Italian food that you would make your family. There is the convenience of a parking lot right next door though expensive ($18/hour) or street parking. We come to Sausalito every now and then just to have drinks and listen to music so this time we figured we would eat. I've always seen this place busy and we wanted some Italian so we said let's try it out. We made reservations which was good because the place was packed. We sat down right away and our sever Carlos came over right away to see if we wanted any drinks. We ordered a glass of Rose and the Chianti which both were very good. For our appetizer we ordered the arancini. It was very nice, perfect size for an app, and the flavor was good. For me It could use some marinara to go with it which I ordered on the side unfortunately the marinara was just ok. We ordered the gnocchi and the sole. The gnocchi was very soft and light, the garlic and the red sauce was tasty and melted in your mouth. The sole was cooked perfect, the sauce was light and tasty, the potatoes were also cooked perfect, and the spinach was just ok, could use a little more flavor. We didn't order any dessert but if I was to get a dessert it would have been the ice cream cause I don't eat chocolate. They ran out of the limoncello so we didn't get to taste that but they gave us the Amaro which i was told was good. The place is noisy maybe because of the structure of the building, sounds just bounce off the walls. The prices are a little high but its Sausalito you expect it. I recently dined at Angelino Restaurant and unfortunately left feeling disappointed. We were seated all the way in the back, which immediately made us feel like an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests. Throughout the meal, the hostess and who I believe was the manager kept looking over at us but not in a warm or attentive way. It felt judgmental and uncomfortable instead of genuine customer service. The hostess in particular had an attitude and was not kind or welcoming. To be fair, the food itself was fine, and the food runners were polite and kind. However, good food can't make up for poor hospitality. The overall experience was overshadowed by the unwelcoming and rude service from the front staff. Because of that, I wouldn't recommend dining here. Customer service truly makes or breaks a restaurant experience, and unfortunately this one missed the mark. read more

I've been to Angelino's about 6 times now, and it never disappoints. Delicious food, great drinks and delightful/super professional service in a gorgeous setting. We had a surprise birthday, and the table was all set. Our waiter didn't seem like a very happy person, and we had to ask for water twice and also salt and pepper. The bus boy spilled a glass of red wine which broke and we had to request another glass of red wine to replace it. Then I think it was the owner a lady. She was very nice and offered a complementary dessert for all of us. There were nine of us and about 6 had dessert. However, when the bill came, we were charged for two desserts which when we pointed out, they did reimburse us for.We also were a little bit disappointed in the quality of the food for the price seeing as we spent almost $1000 which included all the alcohol we drink. read more

This place has a nice cozy elegance ambiance feel to it. Definitely romantic at night that's for sure. My fiancé and I ordered the Aranchi and it was perfecto! Love how the preparation of the fried rice balls! Finally a place that doesn't over seasoned and go over board with salt. The margarita pizza was so good too the sauce and cheese just melts in your mouth. We also order the Cesar salad that was heavenly delicious. We give this a place 5/5 because it was cleaned, our server was pleasant. Definitely coming back for sure. read more

My dad is a huge vongole fan and he has tried them all. He claims that Angelino is one of the top spots, and I have to agree. This is an Italian Restaurant that is one of the few that cooks regional Italian food. It is authentic not a laundry list of Americanized Italian food. I was there tonight with my sister and my niece. I always order the Frito Misto. it is very similar to my cousins in Italy. It is wonderful so fresh and delicious. My sister said the cannoli was the best she had ever had. She ate 3. I am never disappointed when I eat here. The service is warm, friendly, and efficient. You can eat inside or out and lots of locals like to sit and eat their dinner at the bar. They have weekly specials which include an appetizer, soup or salad, and entrees. I love it when they have a steak served sliced and cooked to perfection. The restaurant has a full bar. It is family-run. There is a reason it has been operating for 41 years. I've also never had heartburn my whole life, but immediately after eating the carbonara, I was stricken with the worst heartburn I can imagine. I ate there on June 23. What an authentic and special late evening at Angelino! Right on the water in Sausalito across old bridgeway, this is the perfect date spot! All of our food was outstanding, specifically the farmer's market fresh heirloom tomatoes on my Caprese Salad, easily the best tomatoes I've ever had, they were glistening on the plate. The fritto miso was light and perfectly complimented the fresh brightness of the salad. Hospitality from Pasquale and the team was elevated, professional and exceptional. During the day the restaurant transforms into a fresh Italian bakery, opening earlier in the mornings, around 10am, offering a selection of fresh breads and baked goods highlighting their family recipes. The House Bread is fluffy, soft and delectable, so good that I will be coming back to check out their morning bakery! Amazing place, looking forward to my next visit! read more

What I enjoyed this evening was the gnocchi with some kind of short rib ragu. The ragu was fine if standard issue but the potato gnocchi was special, made by someone who knew how to keep the potatoes from picking up too much moisture. By the end of dinner I was left with the thought that this space holds some answers to my endless search concerning my biggest personal issue: wtf happened to me? Incredible experience. My family and I were in town for a Berkeley graduation and had just seen the Golden Gate Bridge. We drove down to Sausalito for dinner and this restaurant had the best view that I have seen for a restaurant in a long time. Sailboats passing right by our table and an incredible view of the city during golden hour. The service and food was incredible as well. The Great and highly recommend: the Margherita pizza was awesome, Fusilli al Forno was the best dish of the night. Bruschetta and caprese salad was incredible as well. Would not recommend: Linguine Vongole was pretty dry and not worth it in my opinion. Would be an incredible experience for a date if you want a great view. This is about the morning pastries! In a word, "SPECTACULAR." These are the best I've had in a long time, and the best I've had outside France in oh I don't recall how long. Simply spectacular. I had savory (a ham and cheese croissant) and sweet (Kouign-amann) - each was perfect. Took home an apple pie, for after dinner desert, and it too did not disappoint. As a local, Angelino surprisingly flies under the radar. It is arguably the best restaurant in Sausalito. Last night we had the grilled zucchini from their daily specials sheet along with the ahi tuna (also a daily special) and one of their signature pizzas. All were absolutely fantastic. Great views of the Bay and laid back atmosphere - no pretense whatsoever. Highly, highly recommend Angelino whether you are a local or just visiting. read more
