Went there for lunch today. It wasn't too crowded and service was fast and efficient. My wife and I split are meals when we eat out. Had the clam chowder in a sourdough bowl. To both of us this was better than Boudin in San Francisco. We devoured it before I could take a photo. For our main course we had braised wagyu short ribs. Delicious and rich. Portions were average but the sauce on the short ribs was a reduced wine sauce with tons of flavor. Ambiance was amazing as it was a beautiful day. We sat outside, what a view! Unfortunately, we won't be going back. The problem is parking. 18 dollars per hour? Insane! We stayed approximately an hour and a half. Parking was $27. Yikes!
We had a lovely dinner at Scoma's of Sausalito. They are located on the waterfront and they have the most spectacular views. They are known for their fresh sustainable seafood and beautiful views of the San Francisco Bay. I had made reservations a week before our trip, for our Anniversary, to guarantee a nice table with the best views, and that's exactly what we got. When we arrived we were warmly greeted and taken to our reserved table. I think they gave us the best table they had. We could see the city of San Francisco and lots of pelicans. Their menu isn't as big as their San Francisco location, but it offers the most popular items like their famous ciopppino and many other dishes. We were brought ice waters and sourdough bread and butter. The bread was so warm and fresh. Very comforting. My husband ordered their special of the day, which was the grilled wild California king salmon. And I ordered the linguine con vongole, which is linguine with clams. Our food came out fresh and hot. My husband loved his salmon. My linguine and clams were good but overly salty. Our waiter noticed I wasn't eating my dish and asked if everything was okay. I let him know that it was very salty. Without hesitation, he removed my plate and had the kitchen remake it for me. He was so nice about. My remade dish was brought out to me and it was perfect. There were a hefty portion of the clams and the linguine was cooked at a perfect al dente. The manager came out to apologized for my first dish being overly salty and wanted to be sure the remade dish was just right. I really appreciated their kindness and making sure our evening was perfect. You can tell that they really care about their customers. At the end of our meal, they surprised us with a delicious piece of tiramisu for our anniversary. The plate was decorated like a piece of art with chocolate. The tiramisu was delicious and the perfect ending to our delicious meal.
First time trying this restaurant and we really enjoyed the food!! Their food was so flavorful & it tasted very fresh. The ambiance inside is nice since you're floating right above the water, but the place is small inside. The servers were very nice, but I wish they were a little bit more attentive to the tables even outside the restaurant. Overall, I'd come back for the food again!

I was craving something hearty and delicious, and trying their clam chowder turned out to be a great decision. It was rich, flavorful, and served with crackers on the side. Upon being seated, guests are offered either still or sparkling water, and the meal begins with complimentary bread. The portion was just right -- about four pieces -- enough to enjoy without getting too full before the main dishes arrived. We also ordered the calamari as an appetizer, and it was excellent. The calamari was perfectly crispy, the batter was light rather than overly thick, and it tasted incredibly fresh. Compared to many of the surrounding restaurants, the wait time here was minimal, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We chose to sit outside, and the atmosphere was beautiful. The waterfront scenery and stunning views created the perfect setting for a relaxing dining experience.
TL:DR - pricey but satisfying. Parking - always difficult in Sausalito. Best to try the major lots and walk in Pro Tip: Parking is available next door in the Trident but the cost is $18/hr regardless of what is posted. Convenient but pricey Service - very good. Very prompt and efficient Ambiance - old school waterfront vibe. Food delicious Crab cakes - very satisfying Artichokes - a little under seasoned for me and a bit messy but still spot on Seared ahi - delicious.
Last night, we went to Scoma's for our anniversary dinner. I got to wondering why I ever go anywhere else. This restaurant is perfection every time from start to finish. We were seated in the half booth almost towards the end, on the left of the main room. I loved that table. Most of the tables there are great. We were greeted right away and asked for our drink order. Our waiter was fantastic. He was spot on, friendly, didn't forget a thing, and gave us the best recommendations. We also had someone assisting our table and he was the best too. OK onto the food. What I love about Scoma's is that they have seasonal menus along with their regular menu. First up for me was the stone fruit salad. It was a taste sensation unlike anything else I've ever had. White peaches, cheese, beautiful, crisp, lettuce, and a peach vinaigrette that was to die for. My guy had the heirloom tomato salad and I also had my fork in his plate. The multicolor tomatoes were so sweet. Our entrées came next and I ordered the Dungeness crab spaghetti again. I can't give it up when I go to Scoma's because it is so awesome. My guy got the ahi tuna and we both were crazy happy with our meals. Interestingly, there was a chicken Parmesan on the specials menu. Well....being from back east that is one of my absolute favorite meals of all time but how could I give up the crab spaghetti? I told my waiter I wanted to bring home the chicken Parmesan! So the two of us ordered three meals. We had the chicken Parm today for dinner and added some pasta and it was tremendous. So glad we brought it home. We loved our meals so much. Our waiter asked if we wanted a dessert and of course we did because it was our anniversary. I ordered the coconut cheesecake and my guy had the seven layer chocolate cake. Every bite on both plates was delectable. Our waiter was very attentive and the other person servicing our table was very attentive and would refill our waters and iced teas without even being asked. What a perfect way to celebrate our 33 years together. We will be back!!!
Stopped by Scoma's in Sausalito and had the burger. It was not bad--solid flavor, cooked well, and definitely hit the spot after walking around the waterfront. The real highlight is the location and atmosphere with beautiful bay views and that classic Sausalito vibe. Service was friendly and the seafood dishes coming out around us looked great too. Worth visiting for the setting alone, even if the burger itself didn't completely wow me.
Walked into Scoma's on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and was lucky to be seated right by the water without a reservation. It's a true Sausalito classic with comforting seafood dishes and the perfect water-side ambience. Service was efficient, love a complimentary bread basket, oysters were fresh and clam pasta hit the spot. Definitely on the pricey side but at least you're paying for good views and good vibes.
The clam chowder was absolutely fantastic. We all ordered it and loved it! The spicy margarita was spot on, and my husband said his burger was amazing. Definitely a must-visit when you're in Sausalito. The view is unbeatable. The Bay skyline with San Francisco in the background is stunning. On top of that, the staff made us feel so welcome and the service was excellent. We can't wait to come back!
It was a warm and sunny day when we went so we sat outside on the patio! The complimentary bread was really good! It has a great crust and soft in the middle! We ordered the oysters, two of each kind and they were so good! I really enjoyed each one! The spaghetti and salad were also good and not feeling too heavy! The staff was really sweet but service was slightly slow but it could have been because we were in a slight rush that I felt this way.
No question the view all around is magnificent. The place is not crowded by other establishments and beautifully decorated. Reservations are advised. Every entree we ordered are plentiful and just great tasting morsels. Service was super attentive and very courteous/pleasant. Of course with the times, prices have gone up. What the heck, I was impressed with the receptionists and servers.
I absolutely love Scoma's! Every time I drive down to California to visit my grandpa in Napa, I always make it a point to stop here. It's become such a special tradition for me. Their calamari is hands down the best I've ever had !! Perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of flavor. I crave it all the time! You can truly taste the freshness and quality in every bite. The atmosphere is classic and welcoming, and the whole experience just feels iconic and memorable every single visit and has great service. It wouldn't feel like a proper trip to California without a stop at Scoma's. Five stars forever!
We had a wonderful lunch here during our first visit to Sausalito. The food was outstanding, the waterfront views were beautiful, and being able to sit outside with our dog was a huge plus for us. This is definitely on the more expensive side, but for a special lunch or a first-time visit, we felt it was worth it. The quality of the food, the atmosphere, and the location made for a memorable experience. The only service issue we experienced was at the beginning of our meal. It took approximately 15-20 minutes before we received water, and guest ( they knew pretty well ) arrived after us appeared to be served immediately by 3 different servants with water and wine. We felt a bit overlooked and unwelcomed during that time. However, I do want to give credit to our waiter, who recognized the delay and apologized, which we appreciated. One additional surprise was being charged $2 for hot water with lemon. As someone who does not drink iced water, I often order hot water with lemon and have never been charged for it before. On a lunch bill approaching $150, that charge felt unnecessary and a little unwelcoming. It certainly wasn't about the $2 itself, but rather the principle of it. That said, the food and overall experience were excellent. I would not take any stars away because this place is truly a gem with delicious food, gorgeous views, and a welcoming outdoor dining area for guests with dogs. Highly recommended, especially for visitors looking for a memorable waterfront dining experience in Sausalito. read more

This restaurant is located on the pier of Sausalito with a beautiful view. The restaurant is small but offers a lot of character. We waited for an outdoor table for about 30 minutes. Service was very good. The wait staff was very attentive and gave advice when asked. I had a glass of white wine, 2024 pieropan soave, which was crisp and paired very well with the items we ordered. My bf got a local pilsner, which was refreshing. We ordered crab cakes and a bowl of clam chowder for starters. Both were very delicious! The vinaigrette dressing on the salad paired nicely with the crab cakes. The chowder had the perfect consistency. For mains we had the red snapper and the Mediterranean branzino. While both were tasty, I think they could've done a better job flavoring the fish itself. With the toppings on my Mediterranean branzino it made the dish but without the sauce and slaw on top the fish itself was a little bland. Same with the snapper. The fish had a delicious crispy skin and sat on a bed of vegetables and clams in a sauce. The fish itself was a little bland but together it worked. I think I would've liked to experience stronger flavors. Having said that, I can appreciate the dishes for what they were. For dessert the waiter recommended the tres leches as his personal favorite which is what we got. It was delicious! And while it was sweet it was not overly sweet. Overall I enjoyed this place, I'd come back for more. read more

This was such a fantastic restaurant in Sausalito!! Do not miss out on this place!! I don't know if I'll ever be back in Sausalito so I wanted to choose a restaurant that was iconic and very special--this place did not disappoint! The food was exquisite -- my mom and I ordered the cod, the peach salad, and the Louie shrimp salad (without the Louie dressing since it has dairy)! The waiter was incredible and so friendly - the main dishes took about 30 mins to come out so we munched on the peach salad & bread beforehand and enjoyed the gorgeous waterfront views (included below)! read more

This place was absolutely delicious and a great experience in every way. Made a reservation with literally enough time to hop on a ferry from pier 41 to Sausalito, enjoy a meal and head back! Everything was tasty and incredible and tailored to my allergies (other than clam chowder which my hubby said was just ok). However the chili shrimp, beet salad, roasted chicken was delicious. Recently visited for lunch. We ordered the crab and shrimp cakes, baked oysters, crab pasta, kids Mac and cheese. Everything tasted great! We enjoyed the views while we ate. We also ordered glasses of a couple of red wines, which tasted ok but both had significant sediment at the bottom. We did inform our server who got us the remaining amount as a fresh pour. Debatable but I'd expect fine dining restaurants to give a full fresh glass in this situation? read more

Scoma's is a bay area gem! A charming restaurant on a pier over the bay pointing towards San Francisco from the Sausalito waterfront. The freshest seafood locally sourced and also flown in wild fish. the clam cowder at Scoma's is the best we've ever had. Big claim, but I'll stand by it. Came here for my birthday and had such a wonderful experience! Our waiter made the occasion feel extra special with a thoughtful birthday wish and excellent service throughout the meal. For dessert, I had the beautiful tiramisu topped with edible flowers, and it was absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed the crab cake appetizer, which was fantastic, especially with the sauce. For our entrées, we tried the chicken sandwich and the Chianti-braised Wagyu short ribs with polenta and baby carrots i loved this one! It all was flavorful and cooked perfectly. One thing to note is that they don't offer the lunch special that's available at the San Francisco location. However, for a special occasion, I would definitely come back. The food was delicious, the attention to detail was impressive, and the service was outstanding. Highly recommend for a celebration or a nice meal by the water! read more

I had a really nice experience at Scoma's of Sausalito. I tried the clam chowder, the curried cashew ling cod, and the lazy cioppino. The clam chowder was really good and comforting, and as someone who usually isn't the biggest fish person, I genuinely enjoyed the ling cod dish. The curry and cashew flavors worked really well together without overpowering the fish. The lazy cioppino was also flavorful and satisfying. Overall, the food and atmosphere made for a really enjoyable meal. The views are beautiful, especially if you sit all the way in the back of the restaurant by the water. Definitely recommend requesting those seats if you go! read more

Service provided by Jusef and team was stellar, beyond 5 star! Chef came to table to greet our party and introduce himself. Manager attentive to every detail happening in his restaurant. Ambiance was joyful and beautiful. Every single dish was executed perfectly. Standout dishes were the gambas (shrimp) al ajillo, clam chowder in the bread bowl, fried burrata, hangar steak and burger. The dressing for the burger was spectacular. Scomas is an iconic restaurant in Sausalito. I have passed by it many times, but this was my first visit and it definitely lived up to the hype. We went for dinner and the waterfront views were beautiful. The ambience is warm and inviting, making it a great place to celebrate any occasion. We made reservations in advance since it can get busy, and we were seated right away when we arrived. Our server was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. We ordered several dishes, and the portions were generous. The standout items for me were the coconut curry mussels, the Dungeness crab spaghetti, and the scallop risotto. Scoma's of Sausalito is a charming, small restaurant that's highly recommended for reservations. We found street parking on the hills and walked to the restaurant, enjoying the beautiful ocean view. It was a stunning day, and I absolutely love the weather in Sausalito. My family and I ordered a variety of dishes, including Dungeness crab spaghetti, half shelf oysters, calamari fritte, and clam chowder in a bowl. Each dish was delicious. Came here on 2 birthday occasions and both times were lovely! They have another Scoma's in SF but I love the Sausalito location - it's super cozy and intimate with gorgeous views of the bay, delicious seafood, and attentive service. My favorites: - calamari fritte - fresh crab spaghetti - Sole - Short ribs - vanilla gelato Reservations are recommended as it is packed on the weekends. You can take the ferry from SF or drive in and pay for parking at the nearby lots. Higher prices but worth it for special occasions! read more

It's been a while since I visited Scoma's, a true classic waterfront, platform restaurant in Sausalito, with outdoor and indoor seatings and public shore access. It's a beautiful gem on the bay. The best food here is always various seafood, though it's not Michelin quality, it is quite a classic. Here are some of the stuff we tried in a group dinner (they had no problem accommodate a group of 8-12. We were in a group and tried them all. Appetizers: mussels, oyster (pink foam was cute), fried burrata cheese was a hit - delicious. There's calamari and octopus a bit dry and fried but all pretty decent. Rainbow potato's are sautéed well. Sparkling water or tap flat water. Illy coffee espresso, cappuccino (small cup, delicious, but small portions). Butter and sourdough bread. Entree: try the special halibut it was really good not too dry. People run the table tried the lobster tail, which looks pretty cool, lobster. Risotto are popular, but it does not immediately shout out lobster. Dessert: tiramisu, fruit tart, tres leches cake. The tiramisu is delicious when consumed in-house or taken to go. Staff was very friendly attentive. Good at opening wine for corkage, kept it chilled, poured and brought us excess bottles back. Staff was also very friendly about allergies and food restrictions, though there is no alternative to whole milk, there was an effort to identify allergen such as honey and nuts versus dishes, and it was quite helpful. The sunlit restaurant is beautiful, bright, and very great for basking on a fine day. The crowd here is a bit more senior and classic. Even on weekdays, it can be filled because of tourism. There's a convenient tourist lot a block away (tickets will be issued promptly if failing to pay or extend.). It's rare to find parking on the street near the restaurant and even if you do the limit is 2-3 hours. The two hour one isn't enough for a meal. Parking is tight but not bad for those of us from SF. Also a popular destination for Asian Americans because of the view ambience and seafood. read more

We had the crab & shrimp cakes, clam chowder & my husband loved his Hanger steak with potatoes, mushrooms & other stuff. I was a bit jelly lol. I had lobster risotto w/ mushrooms. It was good!! Excellent view of San Francisco, Angel Island, Alcatraz, and the Bay Bridge in the back portion of the restaurant past the kitchen. Great location! Really good quality seafood! Not cheap, but good seafood never is. Good service. Clean and well furnished restaurant. Get a bench seat in the back portion. You will have to walk through the kitchen to get there. Scoma's of Sausalito was an amazing experience. It's located on the waterfront and has a beautiful view of the SF bay. I got the branzino, breaded mozarrella, Sauvignon, espresso martini, and my fiancé got the seared ahi tuna. Our group also got the risotto and scallops and dungennes crab spaghetti. There is a paid parking lot across the street so keep an eye out for a sign. You get stunning views of downtown SF & there were a few people kayaking & stand up paddle boarding nearby. There is valet parking available next door. The parking is actually for that restaurant, but I THINK anyone can park there. There is a charge. I am not certain how much, but paid parking in Sausalito is not for the budget conscious.

Just order gluten free items. No gluten in unbreaded fish, rice, veggies, potatoes, fruit. Just don't eat bread or other baked goods, or fish filets that have been floured and fried (petrale sole, etc).
Do you need reservations for lunch for two on a Friday?
