Two word review: Honest, Responsive…read more This is my THIRD consecutive 5-star review for Rocklin Heating & Air. In the last 10 or so years in the area I've called RHA, one other place because they could get me to faster - had a bad experience, waited for RHA had an amazing experience, and decided they're going to be my ride-or-die for HVAC. I called them at 7am and by 11:30am their tech had fixed and tested everything and off to help someone else. Yesterday was the start of a heat wave and ... our AC unit quit on us. I called RHA as soon as they opened this morning at 7am, asked for Joe in particular, and they gave me a window between 10am and 12pm. Joe texted ahead of time at 10:30, diagnosed the blown capacitor, swapped it out, cleaned things up a bit, tested the coolant, answered a bunch of questions, and was on his way in just under an hour. The diagnostic was $129 and the capacitor was $186 today. By a complete and total coincidence, I had been running some experiments with home temperature sensors for the last week. You can literally see on these pictures exactly when the AC unit stopped working - and when RHA saved our bacon. The "other" place I called years ago only had a $79 diagnostic charge, but wanted to rip out and replace the entire HVAC system - and claimed we were taking our lives in our own hands by not getting it fixed with him immediately. Joe and RHA took care of everything for the diagnostic. Yeah, you can probably find someplace to charge you less for the diagnostic or maybe less for the part, but when your house is boiling hot / freezing cold, you want to be able to call on someone you can trust to help you out - and not take you for a ride.

They were able to get someone scheduled immediately for the next day! So, earlier this morning, our technician (Frank) called with a heads up for his arrival and showed up right on time. He was very polite and got to work right away. Turned out to be a bad capacitor. Frank had everything we needed in his truck and was able to swap it out in no time. They sent their Plumber Anthony out the same afternoon and he was able to repair the leak which was in a waterline and I did not have to replace the whole water heater. He could very easily have told me I needed a whole new unit, but he was so honest and told me it only needed a repair which save me a lot of money. I highly recommend this company. I paid $400 for permit / $300 for inspection . I don't recommend this company if you want things right. They were quick to take my money and install it but failed to install it correctly by finishing it with a final inspection with the city as agreed on our receipt. Its been 5 years that I've attempted to reach out to RPM and all I get is "we are to busy continue waiting". This is not ok! They even mentioned installing a light in attic due to new regulations and they have yet to come back.

I asked about cleaning the AC condenser coil as well and was told that i would only receive a quote when a free estimate was provided on site. they had amazing availability and were able to come out in 30 minutes on the same day. When HVAC service person arrived, he quickly stated that thermostat install would be $110 each and ac condenser coil cleaning would be $150. He said if I didn't want service, then there would be a fee for onsite estimate. I quickly let him know this wouldn't fly and I only invited his company to my house based on the dispatchers quote. He quickly agreed to honor the quote given by the dispatcher. In order to avoid calling another company in for the AC condenser cleaning. i agreed to that service as well. The thermostats were installed easily in the same prior locations of the old thermostats. One was screwed into a weak area in the drywall and thus only held in place by one screw. I didn't notice on install, but was obvious and should have been noted by technician. Th AC Condenser cleaning took a total of 10 min. He vacuumed the inside ,sprayed it with a hose and sprayed something that looked like 409 cleaner in it. That service was definitely not worth $150 dollars Overall very average experience. Work was done promptly and timely. Hated having to repeatedly negotiate prices that were already promised. Given an extra star ( thus 3 star review) due to prompt same day availability and friendly service rep who acknowledged his need to sell additional services including an service maintenance package.

I was still receiving cold air but there was a musty smell. Thank goodness I found Miller and Stacey came out a few hours later. After he checked my unit he said the refrigerant was only down a lb and everything else was working fine. He suggested to replace the lb of refrigerant with a sealant and run the unit on the coldest setting for two hours. The musty smell was gone!! Stacey even told me that if the unit should have problems in the future he would apply what I paid him towards a new AC. WOW, what other company would offer that? He diligently looked for a replacement part, but our system is 25 years old and parts are no longer available for it. Within a few days, we had a new system installed. Stacy was very thorough, honest, and professional.
