Found out this is family related to casa Flores and senor frogs! BINGO!!

Best deep fried crunchy chicken tacos ever! Love their homemade salsa. Beans and rice are small portions, but just enough after mowing down a basket of homemade corn chips and fresh pico de gallo salsa. 5 stars for food and nice service. I really look forward to eating here when I'm in Lodi. They have inside or outside seating. It was hot yesterday so we chose to sit inside with the cool air conditioning. I noticed they have 1 big large round table that seats 8 people and it can be reserved. That's awesome for larger families and friends.

Great service from a very friendly staff. The food was plentiful and delicious! Very nice restaurant to just hang out & chill. Highly recommended this place!

I'm baffled! I don't get why this place has such low reviews. It deserves better! I have very high standards for Mexican food. The food here is very good, fresh, and quickly served. I give the flavor a solid 9 out of 10. The horchata here is also SUPER good. It's hard finding a place that has good horchata made from scratch. Free chips and salsa the second you're seated, which I thought was very cool. Service is great; very friendly staff. I loved the ambiance. It's a small but very clean restaurant. Prices are average (for a restaurant). People complaining about prices obviously do not take in consideration that the costs for everything have shot up! And having employees aren't free. Leasing a restaurant space isn't free. Especially where it's located. If you can't afford this place, save your pennies and go to Taco Bell. They have a dollar menu there you MIGHT afford... ;)

For over 15 plus years, our family and friends have always visited from Los Angeles, Sacramento, Tracy, Stockton and the Bay Area to dine at our favorite Lodi Mexican restaurant. The ANGELO's Restaurant is a friendly hospitality, immediate customer service and fast delivery of our plates have always been on point. And of course the menu and my favorite dish enchiladas and tostadas never fail w/that delicious homemade taste. But my favorite side dish for 15plus years is the bean dip w/nachos. Thank you Rachel, Raquel and David always welcoming our family w/warm and humble hospitality.

Chicken Enchiladas with salsa verde are the best. The rice and beans are legitimate. I have been going since they opened in the late 80's

She was very nice and helpful. We shared a piña con coco cocktail, which I really enjoyed. It had a spicy rim and was sweet, but not too sweet. We ordered the guacamole, which was made tableside. I ordered the enchiladas al comal, which looked really good. Unfortunately, I didn't love the chipotle sauce on the enchiladas and wished I had ordered a more traditional red or green sauce. But it was still good, and I can see why it's popular. I did enjoy the steak and vegetables inside the enchiladas. I was leaning toward a 4-star rating since I didn't love my enchiladas and wouldn't order them again. But Isabella's service was so excellent that it alone pushed my review to a 5.

The prickly pear margarita tasted more like a pink Jolly Rancher than anything else, which just wasn't for me. My fajitas were alright, but they came without any sour cream or guac and the pico was mainly onion. When I asked the waiter, he told me they don't come with it, even though the menu said otherwise. Without those, the fajitas ended up being really dry. I ended up just paying and getting ready to leave, but when I grabbed a menu again and asked about it, they apologized and offered me chips and salsa to go, which I appreciated. The staff was very nice throughout, but the whole experience felt a bit disorganized. Overall, it just didn't feel like a good value for the money, and I left pretty underwhelmed.

I had hesitations. It was pretty empty, all eyes on sports, no one greeted me for a while, the table needed a dust-off. I had expectations - like that the vegetarian burrito should have vegetables (this one is just rice, beans, onion and cilantro...). I thought that maybe since they have shrimp and enchiladas, that they would make a shrimp enchilada - they won't. The have beer, no wine, no margs. I was a hungry pescatarian, getting more anxious - but I stuck to the plan, and I'm glad I did. What I didn't understand was the authenticity. The rest doesn't matter. Yes, I was having a minor melt-down, so I kept things basic. Just cheese enchiladas. I was resolved to be disappointed. I was NOT. The enchiladas were EPIC. I asked for more sauce because I wanted to take a bath in it. I usually skip rice, I ate it all - so much flavor. The beans too - too delicious to be vegetarian - so I didn't ask, and I'll never regret. This place is legit - and I am sorry I ever doubted. I also tried my companions chile relleno, which I usually don't care for - and I LOVED IT. My other companion had carne asada, which I did not sample - but he said it was delightful. Yeah, I've got some LA attitude from time to time, but this place beats most of my LA haunts on flavor. So stick to the basics, don't be a snob, and you'll be in for a real treat.

Upon arrival, I immediately liked the place, judging it from the exterior. It reminded me of Old Mexico or extreme southern Texas back in the fifties. Upon opening the entrance door, the sound of Ranchero music greeted us before a lady immediately led us to a table, walking past (through) the bar on the way. The bar looked well stocked, both with alcohol and patrons enjoying their libations. We were seated in the next room at a beautiful tiled top table which was plenty large for a party of six. Looking around, it was evident there were more similar rooms branching off ours. Nice. We were waited upon quickly and happily. Our meals were brought in a timely manner and on very hot plates for most of the dishes. I chose their Chili Colorado, which the menu boasted had won the California State Chili Cook-off. Chimichangas were ordered by a few of us. Tacos by others. House salad or taco soup was served With the plated meals. All around, food was good, the service better. We all had a nice gathering. To me, I'd say the food was average to very good. My Chili Colorado, (Texas Chili to me) was good, but very salty. Others said their chimichangas were good also I would definitely return sometime if I had opportunity to return to Lodi, to try the Chili again and enjoy their ambiance of an old memory. All in all I would say 3 stars for food. But the old country setting and decor along with great and friendly service bumps it up to 4 stars.

This place did not disappoint. They serve mainly pork for meat options, different types of prepared pork and chicken is available. No pastor to be had. Sadly, no beef or Steak/Carne Asada either. They do pork very well, it was delicious. I ordered a super taco with Carnitas on it and a regular/street taco with chicken. They do not skimp on the meat portions. The actual Carnitas (shredded pork) on the super taco was grade A. Was not greasy, stringy, or crispy. It was tender and tasty. I could tell it was freshly made. They have three different sauce to choose from and all are above average. I got the green avocado salsa. This restaurant is sizable, and has a large seating area with a lot of chairs. There is a bar in the corner too, but nobody was sitting there at all. I'm thinking the crowds are packed in at nighttime here. The customer service was swell. Nothing negative to speak of. I want to give this place five stars, because I really did like the food. I won't do so because on a hot day, some ice in my drink was necessary. The fountain soda machine was not dispensing ice cubes. Nonfunctional. Not okay. Everything else was practically fine though. The price points are not low. Spendy menu items across the board. The store was very clean, with an atmosphere more welcoming than not. I'd return for more.
