Gluten Free Donuts

What a bargain! The donuts here are delicious! We went in and got a bakers dozen. We explored the inventory and got a mix of donuts. The chocolate is heavenly! The maple glaze is some of the best I've ever had. The Bismarck was spot on! You can't go wrong with any donut here! Great service, great donuts, great value!

Doughnut Display Counter at Angels Donuts

When life gives you lemons, give 'em back ... then, go get some donuts ... cause doughnuts are what you really want in life ... and, seriously, existence is just sweeter with sugar-coated ring-shaped fried mini-cakes. In south Salmon Creek (or north Hazel Dell or east Felida depending on which way you'se drivin'), the convenient paradise to get donuts is the appropriately-named Angels Donuts (and Ice Cream if you're livin' life large) on Hwy 99. It's not really heavenly or even any place special, but Angels' got what you want (desire/require ... tomato/donuts). The service at the counter was friendly. The transaction was pretty simple involving me pointing, her picking followed by me paying and leaving. Success! Capitalism at its tastiest ... and, best of all, no lemons were involved.

Heaven-sent donuts

Listen carefully. Do. NOT. Hesitate. These donuts are INCREDIBLE! I now understand why this is called Angel's Donuts - the maple long john was heaven sent, supple and melting in my mouth. All the donuts sounded so good, we left with 16 in total. They were the perfect mix of creative without veering too far from the classics. Barb helped us and was a ray of sunshine, so sweet and wonderful. Make this your new go-to donut shop!

Husband had pralines & cream, and mint chocolate chip on the bottom. I had coconut cream on the bottom with strawberry on top.

I ride my bike at least once a week for an apple fritter. So, yummy and my favorite fritter in town. Recommend this place.

So, I won't lie, I had REALLY high expectations when I chose this out of all the other options for "dinner". I. Am. Blown. Away. The waitress was patient and answered all my questions. The place is small but clean. They run out of their seasonal, so be aware. My husband paid while I went to the bathroom and he kinda made a comment about 25 bucks for two ice creams, which surprised me as well. Until she gave us the ice cream. My Mt St Helens was three largish scoops with a delightfully large amount of toppings. His ice cream cone came in one of the largest cones I've ever seen. It's thicker and crispier than commercial so I think they make their cones in house! But the rockstar is the ice cream itself. I grew up in the area and so I'm very familiar with northwest flavors. This ice cream is like my childhood in a scoop. The ice cream has enough fats to give a nice mouth feel and I'm not even sure they use Guar gum or carrageenan. The honey tastes local. Even the raspberry syrup tastes like raspberries off the side of a country road that are ripe but not too ripe. That sweet sour taste. If you are traveling through or a guest of this town, you have to try the ice cream.

Came here specifically for the acai bowls, so I got the acai banana berry & bf got the acai mango. The bowls were big & topped with lots of fresh fruit. The consistency was like a smoothie. Flavor was good on both, a little watered down. It wasn't the best acai bowls I've ever had, but it was good. I'd definitely want to come back & try the smoothies.

After this, it took 26 minutes to make my juice. It seemed like the printer prints tickets telling them what to make went down. It took two employees TO CHANGE A ROLL OF PAPER. Then they continued making to go orders. No one thought to triage what was sitting in the shop and make those first. There were seven people waiting at this point. Someone called in a phone order and that was put through before my juice was started, and this was 15 minutes after ordering. I know this comes across a bit Karen, but we need to teach young employees of businesses like this how to handle busy days, when equipment breaks, etc. Nothing was communicated to any of us sitting in the shop. I feel bad for the employees when something like this happens - I have worked food service so I understand. But communicating goes a long way, and there was none here.

They have a nice canvas sail overhead to give some shade for seating. The inside is super small. Not what I was expecting. It was similar to Salt & Straw on the Vancouver Waterfront. It's definitely a grab and go type of establishment. I didn't see any baked goods displayed at all. Maybe they've done away with those options?! They had a nice variety of ice-cream flavors to choose from, including non-dairy selections. They also had floats. I decided on the single scoop Mint Cookies & Cream. It was absolutely delicious, and fresh! No freezer burn whatsoever, and plenty of cookies throughout. The mint flavor wasn't too overpowering either. It was the perfect after lunch treat! Staff was okay. Not super friendly at all. She didn't say much when I walked in either. I was the only one in there. It looked like you could sample some of their flavors too, but I wasn't sure if the extra interaction was welcomed. Definitely a different customer service vibe than Salt & Straw; their employees are so friendly and personable. Overall an okay experience. The ice-cream was delicious, but customer service lacking.

Walking in on a Saturday afternoon, the place was quite crowded with a line at the cash register, but for some reason no line at the order kiosk. When I visited, there was a interesting Korean build-your-own instant ramen shop in their soft opening phase in the shop connected to (and only enterable from) Softea. Assam Black Milk Tea, Regular Size, 50% Sweet, Less Ice, Non-Dairy Creamer w/ Boba ($7.20) - The milk tea has a good body and is shaken until foam develops on the surface. The Assam tea base tastes fruity, almost a bit like plum, mixed with plenty of malt essence. It's not too sweet at half and is generally good to drink. The boba is a little firm for my tastes, but is mostly acceptable. The pearls are smaller than normal boba, not mini sized, but probably could expand a bit more with more boil and soak time. They do have good, consistently smooth exteriors. Note: Less ice is still a lot of ice Milk Tea Rating: 4.5/5 Boba Rating: 4/5 Softea serves some decent boba. I wish they put in a little less ice, but there are certainly worse options in Vancouver. Bathrooms - Single unisex room.
