I will copy the review I wrote about ABC, which lead me to hiring Hero Air in the first place to give you the full picture: Update: ABC did show up at 8pm the following night and proceeded to quote me $1,363 to replace some components and $475 to deep clean the condenser coil. I was paying for their VIP service and that is the quote I got. I said no way since I trust them zero. Got Hero Air, who get amazing reviews on Yelp to come out and were there within 2 hours. Turns out I needed a new thermostat, which all in for diagnosing, running out to get the thermostat, and installing for $407. He also recommended a deep cleaning and charged me $150, so for $557 instead of $1,833 which wouldn't have even fixed the problem I am up and running 4 hours after requesting an appointment. So when I said above they hope idiots will let them get away with charging triple, I was not exaggerating. ABC deserves to go out of business. It seems like with their AI reservation system and "fluid" scheduling they probably go bought out by private equity and it seems like they are running themselves into the ground. DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANYTHING!

What should have been a simple service appointment turned into weeks of frustration and a complete failure of professionalism. We requested a quote online, paid a deposit, and scheduled an appointment for a Sunday afternoon (2-5 pm). We never received a confirmation email, but assumed the booking went through. When we couldn't reach anyone by phone to confirm, we let it go. On Sunday morning at 10 am -- hours before our appointment -- we got a call telling us they don't have technicians working on Sundays. Nobody could explain how we were able to book a Sunday appointment through their own online system, or what we were supposed to do next. I called Monday and spoke with a manager who admitted this was a known issue with their scheduling system -- one they were "working to fix." I was offered a discount and rescheduled for the following Friday, 8 am-12 pm. Okay, frustrating, but I gave them another chance. Thursday evening, less than 24 hours before that appointment, we received a voicemail saying our Friday appointment was also being cancelled because of "another service." No explanation, no apology, no alternative offered. I called back furious. I made clear I wanted someone to show up for the appointment we had. The person I spoke to went to check with a manager -- who couldn't even be bothered to call me directly. When they called back, the answer was simply: reschedule for next week. No compensation. No acknowledgment of the repeated failures. Nothing. The only thing Air Flows Chicago did quickly and without issue was refund my deposit when I demanded it. One additional note: their online booking system never made clear which location -- Air Flows Chicago or Air Flows Chicago Belmont -- was handling our appointment. We still don't know. That lack of transparency is itself a problem, and it's why I'm posting this on both listings. Two cancellations. A known broken booking system they hadn't fixed. A manager who wouldn't get on the phone. And zero effort to make it right. Save yourself the headache and book someone else.

Fernando was assigned to our job and he was communicative throughout, initially calling me when he was 30 minutes away and then texting me updates throughout his time. He also noticed that our dryer area did not have the duct installed- texted me & asked if I wanted that done, I said yes, and he did it then and there. Terrible attitude and a waste of time. I got a quote for duct cleaning in my house from one company for $550 and about 6 hours to complete the work, but wanted to save money and find a more affordable option. So, did some research and found this guy, with fairly positive feedbacks (not sure how he gets them) I did some other research and was able to find and buy a voucher for duct cleaning from this company on Groupon. I bought the one for most expensive option of $539 value. My house is an average size and not big or fancy at all. Had to wait 3 weeks for this guy to come over for duct cleaning. He shows up, ( my son was at home and I talked to him on a phone) and adds $240 extra to what I paid ($159 for Groupon) to complete the work, explaining that by extra returns and some other complexity of work, and who knows what else.... When I called to make an appointment with Angel I asked him how long that would take to complete the job and he said about 2 hours. After his arrival and extra $240 bill I asked him the same question and he said the same "about 2 hours". When I asked how long will it take him to complete whatever is included in vouched he replied "about 1 hour". I pointed out to him that it does not make sense and seems to be too much. You do not have to be wizard to start smelling the smoke here.... He started being aggravated and sounded not happy with me that I did not accept his "extra" option. Pointed out that I did not pay $539, but $159 and it's not enough, and that I do not understand how it works and so on, so on.... But the value I purchased is $539! At the end, I had to kick him out of my place and got my money back from Groupon. Frustrating, Watch out folks. read more

I hired Angels Duct cleaning after seeing all of the amazing yelp reviews. We have lived in our house for four years and had not had our ducts cleaned and we live in an older home. They were able to schedule an appointment within a few days. Hector and his co-worker came on time and were very thorough in explaining the process to me---this was very helpful as a first time home owner. The whole procedure took about 3 hours. A few days later i heard an unfamiliar sound coming out of one of our vents so I called to let them know and I spoke to both Angel and Jayme and they told me they would have someone call me to schedule a time for someone to see if there was a problem. This was on a Saturday. On Monday they were able to come to our house in the morning....even earlier than the time they originally quoted. Talk about a quick response time! Later that day (yes, I must seem like the customer from hell) I wasnt sure our heater was working properly so I called and Angel (the owner) told me he would be at our house in 20 minutes. As it turned out everything was working properly.....I wasn't letting the thermostat kick in which is crucial after having your VERY dirty ducts cleaned. He came to our house after 7pm and walked through each and every duct and checked and double checked the thermos. He was so courteous and of course, I felt ridiculous because he dropped what he was doing to rush to our house only to find that everything was working properly. Needless to say, I HIGHLY recommend Angels Duct Cleaning. SO glad I called them! read more

I found out recently that our dryer was venting into our house above the basement ceiling, trapping moisture and lint into our home. We originally called Mr. Duct and they checked it out. They told us that we needed to change from 3" to 4" ducts to comply with national code and that a hole in our brick would need to be cut. They also said they needed to cut a hole in the drywall. They said they didn't cut holes in brick and that they wouldn't be able to repair the hole in the drywall. So, I looked elsewhere to see who could help. I found Angels Duct Cleaning and saw the great reviews. Angel and his team were able to replace the ductwork, cut holes in the brick and drywall, and repair the hole afterwards. One stop shop! They made it incredibly easy and did excellent work. My wife and I could not have been more pleased with the quality and value of service and the exceptional customer service. Angel is incredibly responsive to texts/calls and updates you throughout the job (this is uncommon amongst contractors in my experience). He was also trustworthy and honest and even charged us less for parts than he quoted us when he got a deal at the supply store. Lastly, he's available - I even called him with a question on his cell late on a Friday evening and he picked up and helped me out. Very professional and quality work worth every penny spent. I chose Angels because of their high Yelp ratings & because the owner seemed knowledgable when we spoke on the phone. I'd clearly stated that we 1) hadn't had our ducts cleaned in 27 years (and the prior cleaning was shoddy) 2) we'd had 2 cats continuously during those 27 years (not the same 2 cats) & 3) we'd just had a major remodel, with stuff falling down the ducts. By email, with this info, I was quoted $350-400. On the phone, again repeating, I was told $450, but also that it could get up to $600 if "VERY VERY dirty". Upon the technicians' arrival & looking in a few vents, my husband was told $600. He "accepted" this price because he'd already spent 2 hours moving furniture. Frankly, I'd have been fine with the $600 if I'd been warned BEFOREHAND that this price was LIKELY. But I wasn't. So I don't feel like the owner was fully honest in trying to get my business. Meanwhile, we were NOT advised in advance that we'd have to move furniture away from all the vents & returns. My husband spent ALL DAY moving furniture around. The cleaning took 3 hours. My husband said the 2 techs worked hard & seemed competent. My rating would be higher if the owner had just acknowledged beforehand we'd likely pay the higher amount. read more

We recently moved into a new house. Every cupboard we opened revealed large amounts of drywall dusts- literally just pans full! We knew if the cupboards held this much dust our ventilation must be filled with it too! So we set out and Angels Duct cleaning. They were able to accommodate our schedule and the fact we were over 1.5 hours away! When they got here he walked through the house and inspected each room and gave us a very fair quote. We went ahead with the service and I'm so glad we did. As he removed the vent covers we learned the previous owners must have been heavy smokers. The team scrubbed our ducts and removed not just the dust and debris but also the disgusting nicotine tar! When he was done he also suggested some things we could do to make our system more efficient and they were surprisingly affordable and easy fixes! I found this company through a Groupon promotion for "deep cleaning" duct service. The package was for $160 and after a call to Angel, he informed me what was covered through the Groupon and the potential for additional charges that may not be covered ($20 for each additional return line, $80 for a second main line). Booking the service was easy and the tech, Hector, was friendly and professional. He took the time to explain the additional charges and asked if I still wanted to go through with the service. After confirming, he walked me through the process insuring any questions that I had were answered. Once they started, the entire service took about an hour to complete. After seeing the amount of dust/debris he was able to remove from the air ducts in my home, it was easy to say that this was money well spent. If you are considering this service and live in the Chicagoland area, I would highly recommend Angel and his team. read more

I was hearing a loud propeller noise from all my vents, so I texted Angel- mind you this was after 10 months of having someone come out to service our ducts. Angel, of course, was prompt as usual in replying to my text message and instantly scheduled an appointment to come to my house. I was not able to get someone out to our house for two weeks but the noise was seriously driving me CRAZY so I was willingly to take anything. He called me within a few days to re-schedule a sooner date and came out himself to see what the issue was. Upon his arrival, he fixed the problem right away and was on his way. Now this pregnant mama can sleep in complete silence. This is one vendor I alway look forward to working with. They are efficient, responsive, and good at what they do. After reading Yelp reviews, I requested a quote from Angel to clean the air ducts and vents at a rental property I'm preparing to sell. He responded quickly and scheduled a date. I couldn't be happier with his service! He texted me pictures of the vents before starting to clean....Let's just say the tenants were not the cleanest people so he had his work cut out for him. When he sent me pictures after the vents/ducts were cleaned I couldn't believe they were the same vents! They did an amazing job cleaning them out. The plan was for Angel to also clean the furnace but there were some issues so he hooked my up with an HVAC guy who was out at the house the next morning. My wife and I researched several places and decided to call out Angels Duct Cleaning based on Angie's List reviews, and we are very glad we did. This was fist time to clean our vents since we moved into our new home a few years ago. We wanted a deep cleaning and Angel's price was very reasonable compared to other places. They were very timely in their arrival and communication, and also very fast and efficient. I can't say enough good about Angel's. We had an odd situation - a racoon was stuck in our vent! After calling many animal control and duct work places, no one was willing to come get the racoon out. I called Angel's and they picked up right away, scheduled a time for the next day and they were on time arriving. Very thorough explaining the job and what they had to do. Took some time to get the racoon out but Angel's was excellent. The did an FANTASTIC job cleaning out the ducts afterwards also. Other places turned down the job and didn't want to bother with the animal but Angel's was up for the challenge and I appreciate there work so much I took time to write this long review. if I give 0 I woul. This is the worst duct cleaning business I have ever seen. Angels duct-cleaning is a cheater and misleading customers and doesn't rely on its words and advertisement on Groupon. They brought a cheap plastic pip broken apart and torn and pretending they were doing negative pressure cleaning. I had vent and duct cleaning 4 years ago and I know how the professional companies do it. Angels duct cleaning is not a company at all. They did not clean my vents or dryer at all. Please don't deal with this cheater and misleading company. I don't recommend anyone to use Angels duct cleaning for your cleaning services. Highly recommend!! Angel is professional, punctual and affordable. I scheduled a dryer vent cleaning in the NW suburbs. Angel called the day before to confirm the appointment. Angel along with his team arrived on time, were very friendly and explained the whole process on what they were doing and why - which I greatly appreciated. I have horrible allergies and I immediately saw a difference when the service was completed! They arrived on time which is very important to me, and were professional in all their practices. We just bought a new house and the air ducts were extremely dirty. After researching few companies we chose Angels Duct Cleaning because of their rating. This is the only company that didn't have any negative reviews. I called to schedule an appointment late in the day and expected to get a voicemail but to my surprise the owner answered the phone and I was able to schedule an appointment. The crew came on time. They were very professional and informative. Before the cleaning our air ducts were caked in with layers of dust and the dog hair. After the cleaning they practically look like brand new. When I called for an appointment I was given several options which met my needs and the staff person was professional and friendly as she accommodated my request. Angel and his team were terrific -- perfectly on time and very efficient. Took about an hour and a half. The before pictures of my ducts (in a loft-style condo with dogs) were pretty awful; now they're as clean and shiny as mirrors. My only recommendation is talk to Angel before you schedule and walk him through your duct situation -- maybe even send pictures -- because houses with regular ducts are apparently very different than loft-style condos with exposed ducts in terms of the work they need to do, and thus the cost. I'll likely use him in the future for a furnace cleaning and to change out that silver dryer vent hose thingy. read more

Angel responded to my initial quote request within an hour. Fast forward a few months when we scheduled the service, he booked us and I received a confirmation call the day prior. He and his team arrived and told us how much room was needed by each vent so we could move furniture. They did everything else and did a pretty good job of cleaning up afterward. Angel made helpful recommendations for our furnace, summarized the visit and left with the team. VERY courteous, knowledgeable, friendly and respectful of our property. Angel and his crew were great! We just purchased a home on the north side that was built in the 1950s, so we had figured a duct cleaning would needed from the one previous owner(senior citizen). Angel was able to show us where the issues in the ducts were, as well as the before and after cleaning. They were on time, worked quickly, and we can already tell the difference in the air quality in our house! My husband has breathing issues and he said he could already tell the difference in the home once it was complete. I am very glad I finally found Angel's Duct Cleaning after years of having my dryer vent broken by other companies that were too rough and didn't care. I called Angel and explained how I needed someone who would be careful because the vent had multiple turns. He came right on time, working with another one of his guys from both ends of the vent at once and communicating on their phones to each other to make sure they were cleaning it all the way through. After this issue we contacted the owner and he refused to answer phones. The employee tried to resolve the issue, but the owner did not care. We asked for insurance and he would not give it. We contacted the BBB to help with the issue and Ugly Ductling did not respond to them. In order for the place to be in living condition again we had to hire a professional cleaning service. That cost an additional 5k. This company does not care about customers at all. It's a quick in and out job to them. I highly recommend never using them.

They actually saved me from a potential fire because my dryer wasn't not hooked and there was paper near the igniter! They cleaned all of my vents as well as my dryer in under 30 minutes. It was filthy because I haven't had it cleaned in a while. Although I wish I would have asked to see the dust in the machine just to measure how much dust had accumulated over 3 years. I feel good that I am breathing cleaner air and do not notice dust everywhere like before. I do think the pricing of the duct cleaning is a bit expensive for an apartment unit and the amount of time it took to clear out dust. However, I thought they did a stellar job and would schedule with them again.
