Moving blows. Moving from a 2 story townhome blows even more. Just the thought of carrying my mattress up and down stairs made my back, knees, forearms, chest, elbows, calves, neck, pinky, ankle, second toe, shins, buttocks, thighs, wrist and right ear lobe hurt. They were sore before I even lifted anything. So I decided to be an adult and get movers. After all, I'm not a cash strapped college kid anymore...I can spend a few bucks for the sake of my sanity - and body. After searching various businesses on Yelp I landed on Angel's page. I requested a quote via Yelp and got a reply back super quick. He sent over the quote, directions on how I could set up a deposit and contact info for follow up questions. I called him to set up - and found that the price he had quoted me was now different. He made a typo and said the first 3 hours was $250 - but it was actually just the first 2 hours. It's all good, I set up my move date. Then...my landlord asked me to move up my date (which I'm so glad she did because I would have never had enough time otherwise!) I called Angel to change my original move date a few days sooner. Those few days sooner ended up landing on Memorial Day. No problem. He'd have two guys there to assist me, and it wouldn't be a problem to change the date. Awesome. Moving day I got a call. They'd be ready to come 2 hours early - if I wanted. Actually, yes, that works out great for me! The earlier we start, the earlier we finish! Two gentleman arrived right on time....I signed some papers...and they got RIGHT TO IT. I had some big items like the aforementioned mattress, 2 dressers, a desk, and a couch. Plus, various other random items. All of my possessions fit into the truck - and there was still half a truck left. There's plenty of room to pack your belongings. Back at the new place they unloaded everything (I assisted and had 2 friends help carry some of the smaller stuff as well) and we finished the entire job in two hours flat. Like, exactly two hours - on the dot! It was nice to see the two gents work their asses off the entire two hours. There was no slacking. No milking the clock. Instead they were efficient and quick - while still making sure to be careful with my belongings. I had a fantastic experience - and hiring movers might be the best decision I've ever made. I got it done in half the time I would have. But, most importantly I saved myself some major soreness. Can't recommend Angel's enough if you are planning a move. read more

I have used them at least 5x times. They are very affordable. Moving is expensive. True, it's a mom and pop operation, and sometimes you can't believe they will get the job done, but they are very quick and efficient. Ask the right questions - know what are added extras and what you can do or buy on your own, as far as boxes, covers, etc. If you are moving last minute and your need flexibility and someone reliable, I highly recommend them. read more

NIGHTMARE!!! STAY AWAY!! It all started when I needed someone to move and all the ppl my friends recommended were booked. I looked at the reviews here and went on that. Bad move. Looks like these reviews were bogus or came with the advertisement. I called angel and asked him for a quote for a one bedroom and he said it $360 for 4hrs and $85/hr for each additional hr. I asked how long does it normally take on average to move a 1 b/r apt and he said anywhere from 2.5-3hrs. So I figured 4 hrs would be enough . He never came to look at my place to give me a quote everything was done over the phone. This is when the problems started. His movers got there and took their sweet time wrapping and moving everything. at one point i came down to see what was taking them so long and one guy was in the truck texting. Angel only sent two guys for the move so the truck was left unattended w all my stuff in the street. 3 hrs had passed and we were still in my old apt w just boxes and bags loaded and all the furniture still upstairs. I called angel to complain and he said that if I don't want to pay for more than 4hrs that he will have the movers leave after 4hr regardless of the state of my move. at this point it wasn't an option to find someone else because if i didn't get my stuff in the new apt before 4pm they were going to charge me $200/hr for use of the freight elevator. At the rate they were moving it was going to take them 8hrs to move A ONE BEDROOM APT 700 SQ FT W AVERAGE AMOUNT OF FURNITURE AND EVERYTHING PRE-PACKED. I had to call my boyfriend to leave work at lunch time to come help them out and I ended moving all the smaller boxes and bags on my own. 6hrs and 4 pp later i was finally done. NEVER AGAIN. Even the security at my blg managing the elevators said these were the slowest movers they have ever worked with. The overall experience was very stressful and tiring. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE TO ANYONE. Here is what I learned the hard way and hope you dont have to go through: - Never use Angel movers - Always get a quote for the entire job. never go with hourly because they will take all the time in the world. - Avoid moving at the end or beginning of the month. Prices are cheaper any other times and you can find better options. - Try to go with someone referred and not out of the yellow pages. - Preferably min 3 movers or more Good Luck. read more

I've been in Miami for less than 2 years and now on my 3rd apartment, the first 2 went into foreclosure... I had to take 4 weeks off school and pay hundreds of dollars in relocation fees. Third time's the charm? I give apartment renting in Miami 1 star. This time Angel's movers came on time, their truck did not break down, and I was moved in under 2.5 hrs. Angel is a great guy to deal with and they've been in the business forever. I called the day before and the morning of to confirm since I had a $500 elevator deposit riding on it. (Everyone should do this with any moving company.) All of my furniture arrived safely, the movers were very nice, and none of my dishes broke even though I didn't bother bubble wrapping them. Most importantly my plasma arrived again in perfect condition. I mistakenly left a lens cap sitting on my tv cabinet I noticed it was still there at the new apartment. I was amazed at how delicate they were. Anyway I guess you have to understand that trucks do break down once in a while. Why did I use Angels instead of George Lima? Angel actually replies to your email himself on the same day! I just signed the contract, scanned it, and sent it back. I called George Lima about 10 times and always got their machine, I also emailed them 3 times and never got a reply. Why have an email on their website if they don't reply? Moving tips: 1. Get about 10 medium moving boxes at Home Depot for $10 and the biggest packing tape available. It makes the move a lot faster since they can stack boxes on the dolly carts. 2. Get a large box, cut it out in the shape of your tv to protect the screen from cracks. Also buy a giant roll of bubble wrap ($10) from Staples and wrap it. 3. Move first thing in the morning since movers have morning and afternoon clients. If there's a delay in the earlier move, you'll miss your elevator reservation. 4. Buy a huge plastic bag from home depot and wrap your mattress, if you're a germophobe. 5. Tip? I tipped $25 each the first time and they were grumbling. This time I gave $40 each and they were content. $30-40 is probably a decent tip for the amount of work they do. 6. Landlord's real estate agents. Grrr.... Once you sign you lease and give them the check, they don't give a damn about you. Make sure you document every single defect during the walk-through with the agent representing you or the landlord's agent will charge you exorbitant cleaning/painting fees. Yes, I was burned before but not this time. Every single scuff mark, hole in the wall is accounted for. read more

4.5 The time had finally come: I was escaping Miami Beach! Barely able to contain my glee, I knew the last step in this process was one of the most important: who was going to move me? Looking around on the internetZ, all I could find were horror stories and tales of woe. Being Miami, I was primed to believe every sad and exasperated word. I didn't know what to do. Wait. I lie. I knew what to do: I asked someone who would know. Super Elite Eve C came through big time for me. She told me that she'd used Angel's company in the past (with the 5-star review to prove it) and he was who I needed to complete my escape. Trusting her, I called Angel and left a message. He called me back by the end of the day, explained the process, explained the costs, and went about handling everything else from there (insurance with the new building, time, etc.). I was on a specific time table (thanks to the rules from my new building) but Angel assured me he had it under control. He did (thank goodness) but I couldn't help but be nervous. Because, you know, Miami. His guys showed up on time and ready to work. At first I was concerned that there were only two guys. I was moving from a 2/2 with a ton of junk and a ticking timeline thanks to an elevator reservation at my new building. I shouldn't have been concerned. Not only were these guys strong as oxes, but they were total pros. These were professional movers, not some guys picked up off the street. They knew how to carry the heavy, awkward pieces without breaking/scratching anything. They were polite & courteous. They were wonderfully efficient. And, beyond all of the above, they were quick. Even though part of the pay scale rested on time worked, at no time did they move slowly or rest on their laurels in hopes of pumping up the bill. The respected my time and my wallet. I couldn't believe I was dealing with a Miami moving company. It was a pleasure to tip them out at the end of the day. From morning (pick up) until afternoon (delivery), Angel's guys came through in a big way for me. If you're moving locally in the 305, there's not another company to consider. Angel has you covered from beginning to end. The experience actually gave me faith in Miami businesses.* *It wasn't long until this faith was broken by another shady business. read more

This was my first time using a moving company out of all 5 times I have moved and it was definitely a good experience. Through the booking process, Angel was very responsive, answering every single one of my e-mails and phone calls (I changed my moving date three times so there were several calls and e-mails). His three guys showed up ten minutes earlier than expected and had my 3 bedroom house moved out and completely into our new place in 3.5 hours. They were very professional and worked the entire time without taking a break. Nothing was broken or lost in the move. The pricing was excellent as well. I got quotes from two other moving companies and Angel's Delivery and Moving was the cheapest. They only take cash so keep that in mind when booking. My wife and I are relatively new to Miami- so when it came time to move from a temporary apartment in Brickell to a townhouse in the burbs, we weren't sure where we could turn to for help with moving. So we started with yelp if course and found Angel's moving service. We had a good impression right off the bat when Angel himself answered the phone- the last moving company we had to deal with had an irritating answering service where it would take several minutes to get to a live person. Angel was very accommodating, and had absolutely no problem working around our schedule. In fact, he was able to move our stuff the very next day! Super. On moving day, 2 gentlemen, really nice guys, showed up almost an hour early with a huge truck. This would have been a good thing had my old condo association not sucked and allowed them to use the freight elevator ahead of scheduled time. Oh well. The movers were courteous, took care of not just our stuff but also were mindful of not scuffing the walls while moving. Angel's Moving is awesome! They helped me in my recent move, and I barely had to lift a finger. They were on time and super-efficient. They never once complain that I had so much stuff (and I did, I wouldn't have been surprised to hear a groan or 2 about all the boxes). It actually took longer to move my stuff out of my old place than it did to move it into my new place. My old place had an elevator, and I'm the 2nd floor of my new building with no elevator. There was no complaining about having to carry things up the stairs. In fact, they had the ingenious idea to back the truck up to the 2nd floor railing, and just pass most of the stuff over it, without having to climb the stairs! The price is right too - $200 for the first 2 hours, and then $80 per hour after that. I was completely done in 3 and 1/2 hours, and it was a relief for sure. These guys were awesome! Super professional--confirmed the appt a day before, came exactly on time (I think a few min early), and moved all with care. They had extra boxes and tape on hand for us for the last min stuff. These guys worked hard in the sweltering heat and up and down stairs, AND were super patient that we didn't have everything completely packed and even helped us deal with our loose, unboxed items. We totally went by yelp reviews to book this company and they were all on point (thanks fellow yelpers!) I was going to Use Downtown or Flat Rate in Miami. This was for an in-building move on Brickell Key. Brickell Key can be a challenge for moving companies because of the Island Security and the building security. You really want to get a company that has experience or your AND their ducks in a row before attempting a move on the Key. I was moving from a small studio to a large 1 bedroom apartment in the same building. My old apt. was right next to the freight elevator, and the new apt. 5 floors up and 50 feet away. I figured this would be a fairly easy, fairly cheap move. Angel's Moving quoted LESS THAN HALF of what the other companies quoted, which were within $100.00 of each other. But I thought $400-$600 for a little weeny move like mine was way too much. I also had one large and one small aquarium, and one of the companies would not even move then. The most they would do was put it on a dolly for me. A lot of the small stuff I did myself with a granny cart and Publix bags. I checked with Angel (himself) way before the move (As in more than 2 weeks out): - Did not require a contract signed. - Did not require a deposit. - Answered every e-mail promptly. - Was available by phone as/when needed. On moving day the guys did not show up on time. I called Angel, got voice mail, and he called right back: They were delayed by security. So we got started about an hour late. The two guys that showed up were Pepe and Guillermo. They were both obviously experienced, had everything they needed with them, were pleasant, were friendly. Advised that cash payment was needed, or PayPal accepted (with a 4% fee). $4 bucks per hundred was a little off-putting to this New Englander, but since the service was SO good I really was not too upset by it. If you want to save the charges, have cash ready. I was so impressed with my guys. They taped the door open, they staged things appropriately. They were skilled, knowledgeable, professional, and hard working. They did not insist on everything being packed, some stuff they just grabbed and took it upstairs. I had to run between apartments when ComCast showed up to hook up the cable in the new place, so I gave them the keys to upstairs and let them do their thing. Moving from a large studio to a very large 1 bdrm meant a lot of floor space available, and they asked me where I wanted things, and got them there. They even moved a few things I was not sure about. No fuss, no muss, no breaks, no scrapes, no problems. The freight elevator in my building died in the middle of the move. So the guys ended up carting stuff down to the main elevators. They took apart my bed for me, brought it up, and reassembled it. Without being asked to, and with no complaints. Both of my aquariums made the move without a hitch (Guillermo it turns out had LOTS of aquariums at home so he was very experienced). All fish back in the tanks, without any fuss, all swimming and eating happily. I think I was more stressed than they were! They got everything done in about 2 and 1/2 hours. With a little this and that, I paid for 3. My total bill was under $300.00. I tipped the guys $20.00 a piece I was so happy, and they CERTAINLY deserved it. Bottom line: It does not give you a big company feel. It's a little Latin style, a little Miami style. But trust me, Angel is a good man, he's honest, he does what he says he'll do. My experience with his guys was just unbelievably positive. I could not be happier. I would go back to them in a heartbeat. I would recommend Angel's to anyone. You want to save money, you want to get the job done right, you want fast and cheap and quality, this is the way to go. And I am a died in the wool perfectionist, folks. I have VERY high standards. Didn't have a good experience at all...they never mentioned the men who was helping us move was an older man who my husband ended up helping since we felt bad for him since they CHARGE PER HOUR....they also arrived LATE AND they NEVER told us they would charge extra for removing the fridge handles so they would fit through the door,,, ohhhh and by the way, one other thing, because they removed the fridge handles, they lost a small screw which was DIFFICULT TO FIND and NEVER APOLOGIZED for all the flaws...on the contrary, they wanted and seemed to be expecting a tip at the end after all went bad???!!I learned my lesson, if you need to move, ask if young men will be the movers... read more

I needed help moving a 1 bedroom in Coral Gables to a house in North Miami Beach and took a chance on Angel's Delivery. Even though they dealt at first in English, you'll get your point across better if you know a little Spanish. Regardless, they were able to setup a reservation less than 2 days away and called to confirm the morning of. 2 guys showed up with a truck and started moving our belongings. We had a 2 piece couch and a glass and wood credenza that weighed a ton but they were able to move it carefully. At the end, they gave me a fair price and I tipped them well since they were friendly and upbeat the whole time even though it was their last move of the day. read more

Have used them twice and they were great. Jacob and Gustavo were super nice, very fast, and very conscious of getting everything moved within the shortest possible amount of time. Of course, you have to be a responsible "movee" for them to be the most efficient! So I made sure to have everything in boxes, already taped shut AND all of the boxes stacked in an easily accessible location for loading & rolling right out the door. I even had a misunderstanding about the booking time/date with Angel. The movers said they wanted to start at 8 but did not arrive until 9. They charged me $90 for their drive time because they are located an hour away but waited till 2 days before the move to notify me of this charge, which by then it was too late for me to find another mover. They moved extremely slow and took their time taking breaks for phone calls. They had no clue how to pack a storage unit which caused an even longer delay. So I've moved 15 times since 2002, and although I haven't always hired movers and just had friends help, they are by far the best moving company I have used. Last year I was out of town when I had to move, so I hired another company in Miami who gave me a low estimate. Once they got my stuff in their truck, they called me and told me it was going to cost double the estimate because they took it upon themselves to individually wrap every piece of furniture and I had told them not to. They would not take my stuff off of the truck until I ran my credit card with the owner. Long story short, it was a horrible and expensive experience and I will never use "Coral Gables Movers" again. I sent Angel an email letting him know how much stuff I had and where I needed to go. Angel himself responded within a couple hours with an estimate which was entirely reasonable. It ended up costing less than I had planned to spend because his movers were so fast. The movers showed up a few minutes before I had reserved them to scope out the furniture. There were no hidden fees and they were hard-working and honest. Tip these guys well - they deserve it. read more

On 19 DEC 2012 I needed 200 LB of luggage moved from downtown Miami to Cape Coral (almost 200 mi away). Influenced by Yelp, I called Angel at 11am. At 6:30pm I had all 5 pieces at luggage delivered to my living room in Cape Coral. His employee, Richard, was very friendly and helpful. My experience was all positive.
