This is an old school breakfast place , with basic food and decor that hasn't been updated in a while, but the food was good and the prices were very reasonable. My favorite breakfast place of all time. This is my home spot for comfort morning yumminess! The corned beef hash and Swiss omelette is gasp and the service is off the hook. I lived in Southington for a couple of years now and never notice this place. I wanted some break at 6AM and this was the only place open close by. So I decided to give it a try. There is plenty of spaces to park for this diner which is great. Inside is a normal American diner. There plenty of seating. The menu is not very big but has all the basic for breakfast and lunch. The staff is friendly and nice. I do want to note that is it cash only but they have an ATM inside. The breakfast was good and they made the eggs the way I like it. And the bacon was crispy. This is such a cute little diner. There are always older ladies and an older man running it, and bussing tables. They are always so friendly and try to give you the best. Whenever we go for brunch they always make my eggs perfect (I like over medium, and more places mess it up). They always give you a lot of homefries, which are excellent. The bill is always reasonable, a few bucks for eggs. A little more for pancakes which are also excellent. It is a bit crowded though and sometimes you have to sit at a larger table with other people, but other than that it's a great place for breakfast. read more

The Carousel is as good as it gets for a small town diner. Their food is amazing, the staff is attentive, kind and oh so fast! What more could you ask for? I go there most Sundays and always try one of their specials. My favorites are the sausage and gravy biscuit, the spinach omelet and the kielbasa and egg sandwich. Visited The Carousel for the first time ever today. It is cash only. I was really pleased with everything - the atmosphere, service, prices, and food. Everything at our table was spotless clean, which is refreshing because other breakfast establishments condiment bottles and shakers always look a sloppy mess! Food was great, not oily or greasy. I had the 2 chocolate chip pancakes, which were fabulous, but next time I will order 1 cause they were big! Side of ham was good. My boyfriend also cleaned his plate of corned beef hash, eggs, potatoes, and italian toast. The staff was on point and pleasant. I will definitely be back again for breakfast and also looking forward to trying lunch! read more

Highly Recommended - We went to Carousel after a friend told us how great it was. We had breakfast with over 20 of our relatives that came as far as North Carolina and Florida. The servers were very friendly and the service was fast and efficient. I tried the veggie omelette and my daughter had the chocolate chip pancakes which I snuck a bite of. This little restaurant has a wonderful staff as well as great breakfast food. My husband, mother in law and I went there for Saturday breakfast. We all ordered the vegetable omelet with bacon and a child size pancake(banana walnut) each. The waitress recommended the child size stating that the regular size would never get finished. She was right. I have to admit that when she brought the pancakes to the table and I saw that they were an inch thick I thought they were going to be heavy and brick like. I was soooo pleasantly surprised!! The banana was cooked with the pancakes and not just put on top and there were enough walnuts to make anyone happy. I felt like a kid again eating that pancake and it was the first thing that everybody at the table consumed all of. The omelet was good and the vegetables were crisp/tender like I like them. I thanked the waitress for her patience with my mother in law because she has the beginning of Alzheimer's and forgets that she ordered right after she does but the wait staff was so attentive to her that it made for a very pleasant and very relaxing breakfast. I was also informed that the chef would gladly make a half serving size for her if I think she will be overwhelmed with the amount of food they serve. This is my breakfast place from now on. The food is great but the staff convinced me that this little family friendly place is where I want to spend my Saturday breakfast time. read more
