Guys, I'm telling you this is the BEST BBQ in the area! IMHO. Amber is a great server, excellent food suggestions, authentically friendly. Relaxing outdoor seating, casual, come as you are. The appetizers blew us away, the locally made fish spread is outstanding, first time we ever had it, it was so good we took a pound of it home! The food came out super fast, like magic, we were there just before 5, so not super busy but it was still impressive nonetheless! We had the fried green tomatoes and Angry Peppers too. Delicious! Portions are epic. They use a buttermilk batter, so you good get a good byte with just enough salt. You can see by the pictures all the entrees we chose, I specifically had the combo and it was outstanding, hats off to the chef! We loved this place and will be back next year. Always good service, wide variety of beer and friendly staff. Sitting on the intercoastalsmelling the smoke house makes me hungry everytime. My go to is the Big Azz Burrito with pulled pork. Unless you want to take half home, plan to share with a friend. Like the wings too - try their hot & sassy hot sauce (think that's the name). We like it but any of the own bottled hot sauces rock. The menu has a wide selection to choose from. Brisket, hamburgers, salads and tasty sides (greens, beans, fried green tomatoes to name a few) Enjoy your visit and the ambiance. Angry Pepper struggled a bit in the worst of COVID, but after living in the area almost five years, we're still regulars and I'm happy to report I once again think they deserve five stars. The meat is always high quality. These days my husband is partial to the brisket and ribs, while I tend to go to for the chicken wings or the pulled pork. The wings are some of the best I've had in town, especially coated in the Sweet n' Nasty sauce. The sides aren't a standout but are consistently good. If you're not feeling barbecue, in the past I've also enjoyed their southern style BLT, the angry wrap, the burger and both friend and grilled shrimp. They have an excellent beer menu with a lot of options, including non-alcoholic Heineken (pregnancy has made me appreciate places with good non-soft-drink options). It's not fancy but service is always friendly. Prices also remain reasonable, which is a big plus these days. A good place to support local. read more

Honestly can't believe we didn't come sooner. Everything was excellant from the moment we stepped in. We came on a Saturday lunch hour and seated ourselves right away. We had drinks in under 5 minutes and an appetizer in less than 10. The smoked meats are unbeatable, but will be back to try more of the menu too - so many great options! A true hidden gem for the locals. Accessible by boat - huge bonus! Fried green beans were pretty great too. To top it off, we had quick, friendly, and regular service. Not gonna lie....the cool name and logo drew me in LOL. Some of our crew love hot and spicy food so decided to give this a whirl on our vacation. Apparently their taste buds are dead because nothing anywhere we go is HOT enough, including here. I split the BBQ trio sampler. BBQ sauce is ok, but I honestly prefer Dickey's sweet BBQ instead. The vegetarian in our group got the Kids cheese quesadilla. Not much to choose from here for non-meat eaters. My son loves Mexican but was not thrilled with his burrito. He only ate half of it which is highly unusual. The nachos are so massive - it's a good option to split with someone. They had great music inside and interesting high tops made from surf boards. Ahi tuna very good; 1/2 rack ribs advertised as being put BACK on the grill after the sauce was added and they weren't. - the ribs ended up being overly 'wet'. Additionally, I would have expected the ribs would have been cut - OR a real, not plastic, knife provided. Vicki was superb! And we would go back to have her as the server. She would have brought the ribs back to have them grilled, but she was so busy, and so efficient, and we didn't want to mess with her rhythm. read more

Boy oh boy where do I start... This place truly has it all. Great service! Great atmosphere with a cool View of Dock on water and calm outside eating area. The beans are delicious and from someone who doesn't like coleslaw all that much I love it here! Perfectly balanced. The fries are seasoned well and are just about as good as french fries can be. On to the meats.. Every time I have been here the meat has been as perfect as the first time I tried this place. The Brisket is top tier literally the BEST. Better than any other BBQ I have had. Angry Pepper really is on another level with flavor and meat science. every box is checked even with the sauces (try them all even the Angry sauce has just the perfect heat) The ribs are soo so good! You cant go wrong with the entire menu which if I could I would order it all. The chicken is smoked perfectly and melts in your mouth. Pro tip: order the dinner and add a bun if a sandwich is on your mind. I wont mention the competitors names in the area but just know there is no competition I have tried them all. if you are looking for BBQ this is it. The smell is beautiful they have the smoker in the back and they have a ton of Tvs to catch all your favorite sports. This is the place to go. I stopped by the Angry Pepper for the first time tonight. Had to try the smoke fried wings. I have really been enjoying ordering them with a dry rub and a variety of sauces on the side. I went with the angry wing sauce, angry garlic buffalo, and some house made blue cheese. Blue cheese was legit. I like salt and the dry rub was a bit salty for me. Lesson learned. Will roll with a light dry rub next time. Wings were good sized, juicy, and had a good crisp skin. I enjoyed the dipping sauces. Solid spot that I will definitely circle back on it again. Worst service ever. The waitress was extremely rude and didn't bring us what we ordered. Ordered four High Noons and got one White Claw and three Nutrls (this happened multiple times). After the waitress realized she had screwed up, the bartender came over and took our food order. That was that last we saw of him, until later (that will be discussed later in the review). A different waitress brought us our food. She was cool. After she brought the food, the original waitress took over again. We saw her one additional time. Went without drinks and got no sauces for the bbq we ordered. We had to get that ourselves from another table. When the bill finally came, she threw it on the table and walked away. Our tab was $165 and, needless to say, we left a $0 tip. Now, let's circle back to the bartender from earlier. Well, he and the waitress chased us down in the parking lot and started yelling at us for not leaving a tip. He kept saying how he had a family and bills to pay and that they all shared tips. She was threatening to call the cops on us and report us for drinking and driving. When we told them that they earned a $0 tip, the bartender threatened us and asked us if we wanted to get out of the car and talk about the $0 tip we left. This was, by far, the worst service I have ever gotten, anywhere, ever. To threaten someone with a fight and calling 911 on them is a complete joke. The owner of this establishment should really look into hiring competent employees. I will never go back to this shit hole. If I could rate it a 0, I would. I've been wanting to get in here the past few times we've been down and finally made it. So glad we did. Food was great. Open air seating on the water was great. Service was great. The beer selection was huge. I got the pork sliders and they were filled with delicious, moist pork, a good zesty bbq sauce, and a scoop of coleslaw that was very good in its own right. My girlfriend got the biggest salad I've ever seen with so much chicken on top it was crazy. She said it was delicious too. The veggies were super fresh tasting. We also shared the smoked fish spread which was very good. There's is made with amberjack. I prefer it made with Mahi but that's just a personal preference and there's was very good. We wanted BBQ, so tried Angry Pepper. I tried to phone in my order to pickup, but there was no answer for 15 minutes of continuously dialing. So I ordered from the bar. It was one of those "I don't exist" kind of restaurant experiences. Difficult to get the wait staff attention. I also couldn't understand the waitress when I asked questions about dessert, beer types, typical meal accompaniments, etc. she had plenty of time for others at the bar. Oh well, not worth my time to continue with the unprofessional waitress review. Ordered brisket/rib combo with beans, coleslaw, fried tomatoes. Took a Long long time. Note: no pickles, onions, bread offered with meals. That's a sign that it's not a BBQ joint. Got home - brisket cold, meaty ribs pretty good, fried tomatoes cold and soggy, beans and coleslaw ok. We would only return if we sat down and had proper service. I'd definitely get ribs again. Managers: please train wait staff to give all customers equal attention, not just the "party" crowd. It's insulting, and ultimately bad for the waitress because I will not tip well if I'm not comfortable. read more

The ambiance is that of an open air 'tiki' style place with a cool breeze blowing off the waterside canal. Very chill and inviting. Staff is friendly and timely. The food is smokey goodness. The wings and Big A$$ burrito are favorites and recommended. The Angry Peppers are the signature app. Big peppers stuffed and fried. Careful though.... it's like Russian roulette and you might get one with some seeds that will light you up! Prices so far have not taken the Biden jump so come while it's still affordable. First stop on our St. Pete Trip and our friends brought us to Angry Pepper! Love the laid back vibe of this place with everything open, right on the dock side and really killer jams playing on the radio. This for me is sometimes hard to find! We got the fish tacos (blackened) and I accompanied mine with a Bloody Mary that was wonderful! It included a pickle and a crispy piece of bacon, does it really get better then that? Fish tacos were some of the best I've had EVER. My only complaint is I could've used more lettuce or slaw in the taco but hey that's no problem that cannot be fixed. Menu is a tad limited and service was slow, but the place was packed and our waitress kicked ass at taking care of us so that's what it's all about! This is our favorite restaurant in Madiera Beach! The atmospheric building is located right beside the water and has seating open to the outside, so you can have views of the water, boats driving right up to the restaurant, and men slow-cooking the delicious BBQ over the hickory and oak logs. The servers are super friendly and competent, and the food is so delicious and presented colorfully. Our favorites were the Fish Tacos and the Pulled Pork Sandwich, but everything we ordered to eat or drink here during our 2 vacations was really tasty! Since it is in walking distance from the Courtyard by Marriott hotel, we ate lunch there several times and bought take-out for dinner (at their bar that we heard gets fun and lively).
