A week ago I had a dead buck in my yard. I attempted to call Animal Capture and Removal, but hung up. I received a text on my phone saying they were busy leave a detailed message so I proceeded with a text. Then, I got a reply, I gave the town, the type of animal and that it was on private property. Next, they asked for pictures so I texted two pictures. No reply after that. The next morning still no reply so I left another text asking if they could help or direct me to a place that could and no reply back. A surreal and disappointing experience with Animal Capture and Removal. Called them a few days ago after battling a skunk problem in our basement. Ron answered and from the start was very short and condescending. I told him our issue and he said he could come out that morning (fee - $275 for inspection /$50 everyday until animal is captured/$100 per animal captured). He said it would be an hour or two, but didn't end up showing up until close to noon. I got off the phone and thought maybe he's having a bad morning. I had a couple of guys working on my driveway. Around noon, I heard yelling in front of my house (which is unusual for Mill Valley) and didn't think it had anything to do with my house or the guys working in front. After a few minutes I went out to see what the noise was about and found the guys shaking their heads watching a truck backup. They said the guy in the truck, Ron, was yelling at them and the car that had approached from the other side because he couldn't get through. If you know Mill Valley, our roads are tight and we often have to maneuver around each other. By the time I came out, he was backing up furiously and fighting with his wife/partner (Beckie?), who was trying to help him turn around. He called about 10 minutes later to say he can't do the work as he's been in too many accidents on roads such as ours. If you see our road, it is a typical Mill Valley road. Soooo, I ended up calling Wildcare and had a wildly (pun intended) different experience. Wildcare was kind, thorough and effective...all for $265. Also worth mentioning, companies that remove wildlife, put the wildlife to sleep after capture (I assumed they were relocated). Wildcare "evicts" the wildlife and sets up measures/protection so they don't return. Anyway, if I could give Animal Capture and Removal a minus 5 I would. HORRIBLE customer service...and frankly quite surreal. read more

We thought we had a skunk under our deck and because of Ron's knowledge he advised it was not a skunk that was leaving the tracks on the deck, but instead it was a raccoon. Have you come face to face with a skunk, in your garage!? I did and Ron removed it! After calling several numbers and even the police department for help, I was giving Ron's number. He promptly answered the phone, allowed me to decompress about the skunk and stress I had, arrived within the window he gave me, was pleasant and professional. He presented a couple options for capture and finally settled on grabbing the skunk by the tail, that was visible from behind the refrigerator. Yep, you read right, grab the tail.... and he did, after setting up a plastic barrier incase of spray. It all happened so quickly from pulling the skunk out to placing it in the cage and racing it to the back of his truck. From the run in, my own attempt to coax it out and Ron's swift capture nothing was sprayed! Total success!! Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed! read more

My wife thought she heard some sort of critter in our attic and Ron came out to take a look. He examined our open space (in the attic), and the outer areas of our house to see if there might have been something there. There was no visual evidence of any animal, but he was nice enough to setup a small trap for a few days in the attic as well as going around the outside of our house to ensure that all/any openings were appropriately sealed. We brought home our new born from the hospital and as fate would have it we had a family of raccoons and skunks decide that it would be a good time to move in under the house and fight for territory. I had a wonderful experience with Ron from Animal Capture and Removal yesterday. As promised, he called an hour before showing up at my place. Just recently, I've been hearing noises underneath my floors and a bad odor had been permeating my house whenever I turned the heat on. I've been panicking about the possibility of raccoons returning under my house. I used two different companies last year to address my raccoon problem. This time, I knew I did not want to call either of those companies because of their lack of "follow up" and their unprofessionalism. Ron was very personable and got the job done right! He successfully discarded of two dead squirrels from our crawl space (yuck) then captured and removed a skunk from under our front deck. Had a horrible odor coming from under the house so I was sure something died down there... so gross! Came across all of Ron's perfect reviews on Yelp so I knew he'd come to the rescue. Gave him a call (at the crack of dawn on a Saturday) and he scheduled me for a Monday appointment and thankfully showed up even earlier than expected. Turns out, I had FOUR dead animals (3 rats and 1 squirrel) that Ron bagged up and removed, while also being very conscious of keeping my house and hardwood floors super clean - not tracking anything from underneath the house into my home. Very respectful of peoples' homes, which made a big difference since I have two very young kids. Ron doesn't just remove the dead animals, but scopes out everything else to determine the entry point - checks all the crevices underneath, checked my attic, checked corner to corner, checked all the vents, walked the entire outside of my home and also offered recommendations. Ron is efficient (was done in about 1/2 hour), but thorough, which I appreciated. I actually hope to never see Ron again, but should I have a future issue, Ron is the one and only person I'll call. Ron set two traps, explained the process and cost and said he'd check the traps each morning until the raccoon was caught. Live and learn We had a racoon and her babies under the house. When i called ron he explained his charges over the phone. The fee to inspect, The fee to return and check traps, and the fee for the animal removal. I understood that to mean to removal of the animals in question... the racoons. Upon inspection Ron spotted the Racoon family. During the inspection, ron found 4 dead rat carcusses. I gave him a plastic garbage bag and he removed them. When he returned, the racoon family was gone. He took away the traps ans gave me the bill. initial service call $ 75., inspection $200. return inpection fees $100.00, AND $400.00... 100. FOR EACH DEAD RAT ! tOTAL 775.OO My fault for not reading the contract more carefully, and telling him th leave the carcuses. I believe he should have asked me if I wanted them removed, noting they would cost me $100. ea. Word to the wise. Clark, Terminex and othe similar companies will remove rodants such as mice & rats at a fraction of the cost. Ron and his wifes' expertice is in larger animals. I recently moved to an older renovated home in Carmichael. The back yard borders other homes and I thought one skunk seemed to always be passing through. We couldn't open the windows at night due to the pervasive odor. I contacted Ron and he came out the next business day and set up three traps. In two weeks Ron took care of 8 skunks an 1 opossum! I gave him one star because he at least showed up. What a joke. I spoke to Ron Baily and I asked him for a quote to remove bats that are living in the eaves of my house. He was double the other quote I received and charged $325 to come out and give me the ridiculous quote. I knew about the cost of the quote going in, he charged $50 more for the quote than all the other companies I contacted, but I chose to have him come because he sold me on how great he was. I called and asked why it was so expensive thinking that maybe he was doing something different or had discovered some problems that the other person missed. He replied that the working conditions were more dangerous as my house was on a hillside and that made access difficult. I said does that mean it will take longer, he said no he was charging more because it was dangerous. It is two days work either way according to him. I run a small business and have never heard of having different billing rates based on working conditions. If it take longer it makes sense to charge more, but not if the time needed is the same. $2500 / day is pretty nice work if you can get it. I guess you can write 4 ridiculous quotes a day and make a pretty good living and never work, too. If he didn't want to do the job he could have said so instead of trying to rip me off, but that would have meant he couldn't charge me for the quote. The company I chose to do the work had a more complete scope of work, including additional items that Ron missed. read more
