A year ago I moved into a home that unbeknownst to me until move in day had a COCKROACH INFESTATION. *screams* Cockroaches had eggs and whatnot behind the refrigerator near the motor.Cockroaches were crawling out of the dishwasher drain pipe. Cockroaches were en mass in the oven. It was truly disgusting. I was sad and angry. I felt overwhelmed. I literally just moved in with the movers carrying my belongings in. Juan with Round the Clock Pest Control came to help with this disgusting dilemma. He inspected the entire house and treated it while I was at the hotel with my dogs because you can't be home with all those chemicals. It took a couple of treatments to completely eradicate the cockroach infestation - but it was very successful. Juan took care to inspect my home throughly each visit. He also welcomed my photos of when I saw a bug so he knew where to double check and treat. From the initial assessment to the confirmation there are no more cockroaches, Juan was very patient, professional, and knowledgeable. He educated us on what he did and why while affirming the common sense tactics we do to keep the bugs gone. Cockroaches are disgusting. The problem with the city is there are so many people living in a concentrated area so roaches and rodents happen. We won't get into bed bugs or I will die from barfing. The thing is, yes - pests are disgusting. They carry disease. That is a problem you need handled immediately by professionals who want you to be pest free as soon as possible. Today I asked him to start with my apartment and he profoundly refused, saying that he has a strategy, it didn't matter because there are 6 departments on each side, which he was able to do. He has no empathy and I really don't recommend him. Look for another one that will end the plague thus guy doesn't care about his clients HORRIBLE PERSONALITY!!

When we finally got a response from him, he scheduled an appointment and cancelled that morning. This happened twice and both times he gave some outlandish excuse. He had no intentions of showing up in the first place. He did completely stand me up once and again gave me some crazy excuse and never truly apologized. Aside from not fulfilling his contract, he lied. He told me he placed traps in my crawl space. When I sent someone else down there, there were no traps. There are so many other things I could write about but to keep a long story short, stay far far far away from this company.

My dry cleaner sent the "rugs" (used on table tops, never on the floor) out to Grants rather than dry cleaning them. Today I showed the result of Grants rug cleaning to my dry cleaner so he knew why I suggested he not use this company anymore. So he called Grant and then handed the phone to me! So I explained to Grant that my "rugs had holes in them that they didn't have before the cleaning. He then screamed at me- "you have animals! They caused the holes!  And all the hair."   I told him they did not have holes in them before cleaning. "You have animals!  There's nothing else I can do for you rugs!"* He also said something about the holes being there before he cleaned them, and that he had photos to prove it. Well, I have photos of the rugs before they were cleaned this time also. The "rugs" he cleaned were used on table tops so the cats did sleep on them leaving some hair. But they did not make those stretched out holes. I was so upset I just hung up. *This is the 2nd cleaning he did on these items, the first time there was hair left on them and I asked if the hair could be removed. He said he had some kind of brush he would use on them and that I should send them back. So I am going to have them restored - repair the holes and try to remove the dye that bled into light areas. This will cost more than their actual value, but they are sentimentally important to me.

After the recent weeks of rain, our back lawn was so long that the neighbourhood cats were getting…read moreup to the hanky panky in our yard (apparently cats on heat likes long grass, and man they're LOUD). So the task was simple: find someone to mow that lawn and trim the bush back. After calling around half dozen places, we found Mark via Craigslist. Mark is a super friendly fellow who does handyman work (gardening, hauling, painting, etc). He has all his own equipment and will even hurl your garden waste away. I chose Mark because he had the lowest quote - around 50% of what was quoted at the other lawn care places. It was so low that I was skeptical but since we had little to lose, we gave Mark a try. It turns out that he is just a guy out of luck, and was trying to under quote to get some work - ANY work, since it sounds like business has been very slow. Mark honored the rate quoted when he arrived. And you know what? His work was good and now we have a nicely trimmed lawn and the neighbourhood cat gathering has moved on. Along with the job well done, Mark return calls right away, give reasonable quotes, honors them and shows up to the appointment on time (even a little early). That is all I look for in a good handyman! I highly recommend Mark's work.

Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there. I had to call, text, email him to get him out for followup and to clear traps. After many phone calls he came out 2 weeks after initial service, only caught one rat which seems odd for the amount of activity there was and poop in the crawlspace. He came out 2 weeks later and said we were clear. This was in July. This work should have a 10 year warranty according to the email. Fast forward to September 28th... And we now have activity in the garage. I sent him photos and asked about the warranty. He said the garage isn't covered, only the crawlspace but he could come out to quote me a new price for clean up/ removal. I sent him photos of the entry points that are coming into the garage from the crawlspace.... And with that, radio silence. He has not replied to text, emails or anything after that. I went out and bought my own traps for $32, and caught 7 rats in 2 days. Now we are baiting with poison and slowly closing the entry points. I find it odd that I could catch so many rats, in 2 days and he caught 1 in one month. This is unacceptable. To pay that much money and I have to beg and plead for him to come back to make sure it is done correctly is not OK. I wouldn't recommend them for any services in the future.
