    My beautiful Noelle

I would definitely give more stars if I could. My beautiful girl Noelle was not doing well at all. Someone recommended Animal Emergency vs. Pet Emergency based on the staff, expertise, and overall warmth. Unfortunately, we had to put our beloved girl down but they were so caring from beginning to end. The vets and tech kept in constant touch and the vet with at the end was so compassionate and explained everything to us. They really touched my heart in how much they cared. If I ever have another emergency, and we pet parents always hope we don't, this is where I'll go.

I am amazed by this ER! My 3 y/o cat just had a bladder obstruction and I took him here (his 2nd time coming here) both times I've been here I've felt so taken care of and I feel like my cat is taken care of. Especially with how difficult he is. The only downside is price but it's an ER so it's expected. If only it wasn't an ER & just a normal Vets office I would make this clinic my primary Vet for my cat :,) Dr. Kat Bell is an astounding Veterinarian. She's so thorough and informative. I also can tell she has the animals best interest at heart. She's also so personable and had sat on the phone with me after having a difficult time with Union animal hospital and researched and found me a less inexpensive hospital for my cat to have surgery bc she understood the financial situation I was in. The other Vets my cat had I know one was Chrisha Harris and a Male vet I didn't catch his name but he was also amazing and for the short time they had Dior they really took care of him, again, with how difficult my cat is they vet techs everyone was so helpful and so so so kind. I didn't catch everyone's names but you all were amazing! And it doesn't go unnoticed with how difficult a time this was for me, I appreciated every interaction I had with this ER. In times like this where hospitality is so crucial and people are at a low with their loved pets, this ER makes it seamless and they are so appreciated by me for everything no matter if it costed an arm and a leg. Thank you again!!! Pls take your pets here when in crisis. They are amazing.

Took my cat who was having breathing issues there late one evening in early February. I called in advance and spoke to staff and gave her all the information I could over the phone. It was about a 20 minute ride. Staff came right out to get her. A little while later, Dr Bell called me and said repeatedly that cats in her situation are considered "critical". Seriously? Why do you think I took her in? Prior to that I had noticed no issues save for the fact that she seemed a bit withdrawn and her appetite was off. As a matter of fact, her senior panel labs from November did not indicate anything was going on. Obviously those labs would not indicate cancer or anything like it but everything about her lab work was absolutely normal. I take my cat in about every six months for labs and a check up. My cat is feline leukemia positive and has been for over 8 years. Dr Bell stated that they did an x-ray and it appeared that my cat had a tumor on her interior chest wall as well as fluid buildup. They needed to wait for a radiologist to come in and do an ultrasound. They would then try to remove as much fluid from her thoracic cavity as possible. She asked me if I wanted her resuscitated if she were to crash. I absolutely said "yes". After about three hours Dr Bell called me and told me that they had sedated her and had withdrawn around 115 mL of fluid. I asked her what type of sedation drugs they gave her. She responded with "Acepromazine". She then got very defensive about my asking and said that if anybody ask why she use that it was her choice. (My cat has been under sedation a few times, not with Acepromazine, and I have never seen side effects like what she suffered from up to 36 hours after sedation.) Dr Bell recommended I have her put down. There was no discussion about referring her to an oncologist. I even asked her about giving my cat Lasix and a steroid (like Prednisolone/Prednisone). Cats are generally only prescribed Prednisolone because of the way their bodies process it better. Her response was that steroids will cause tumor lysis syndrome. Again, she expected me to just put my cat down. The next day I spoke to Dr. O'Dea about the previous night's visit. I brought up the subject about the Prednisolone and Dr Bell's unwillingness to prescribe that for my cat because in her words "It will cause tumor lysis syndrome". His response was that he had never heard of tumor lysis syndrome in cats. My cat did OK over the weekend but come Monday, she had to have another 50 mL of fluid withdrawn. Two days later I got her down to Oncology at WSU. They did labs to verify that she could take chemo and she was absolutely a candidate. They started her on the CHOP protocol which included PREDNISOLONE. A couple of days later I was finally able to get through to a family member who is a veterinary surgical oncologist. She stated that that the first thing she would've done would've been to get her on Prednisolone to help prevent more fluid buildup. The only problem with that is that it can skew results when trying to get the type of cancer that my cat has. My veterinarian's colleague also echoed my family member's sentiments. Did I mention that Dr Bell just expected me to put my cat down? She would also not discuss palliative care medications. Despite Dr Bell's best efforts to kill my cat, she has started her second cycle of 4 rounds of chemo. She's tolerating the treatment very well. While her appetite is a bit off (only interested in dry food), she's doing GREAT! I know I am just prolonging the inevitable but she has a very strong will to survive and I want to give her the best quality of life that I can. There's no reason to not TRY. The hardest thing is to know "when" to give her a "release" but everything about her screams that she wants to live. I'd recommend against taking your beloved pet to this clinic if Dr Bell is on shift.

My little Khloe who was having respiratory issues.

Visiting with family, out of town, earlier this month and my little girl became sick with respiratory problems. Not only did the staff take excellent care of her but the Vet was very informative. Her diagnosis and medical paperwork were emailed to me for her new Vet and after getting back home I received a text checking in on her. I can't tell you how lucky we were to find this place!

Covered wound as it might be concerning to others.

the people here has been absolutely delightful! They have been so patient and so kind and so comprehensive and explaining exactly what was going on with our pet. They were lovely to talk to you all the way through! Very clearly explained follow up care and what to do next! Many people had left reviews saying that the prices were very expensive, we felt as though they were very reasonable for the services we received. I would highly recommend this clinic to people who are in need of emergency care for their beloved, furry friend! The treatment that our cat needed required us to return to them three times over several days. Every single time we went the people were the same, warm, caring, and comprehensive. They did not charge us for the removal of stickers stitches or the drain. Thank you for caring for Carrot!

Our child Nyla, now you truly are a cloud princess.

Actually, the porcupine may have enjoyed it... I'm not sure. In any case, we needed some serious quill removal. We took him in around 10pm on Saturday night and they were pretty slammed. From start to finish it took a good 3-4 hours to get him treated and released. This isn't ideal, but totally understandable given the business they're in and again, the ONLY emergency vet clinic in town. Whatchagunnado? Total cost was around $700 which seems obscene on the face of it, but my wife (in whose opinion I trust like the stone-etched tablets of Moses himself) considered it quite reasonable given their service, skill and professionalism. They gave our dumb beast total wrap-around care, medicating him for pain and removing 50+ quills. My wife is in the medical field and is a pretty harsh judge of vets. She loved the docs here and found them both highly skilled, knowledgeable and efficient. This reaffirmed my own lay impressions. Bottom line? They did a great job and the service is invaluable in emergency cases. Cost is high, but not outlandish for the service.
