    Dulce do!

On the 10th they told me to call on Friday. They would set an appointment. I called on Friday instead I was told there would be no appointment that my established pets would not be served by them because of a misunderstanding with front office staff if you can get past it, the vets are good, but not really worth it for the stress to get in. Yeah, it's all their way or the highway. I'm taking the highway as they wanted and there is a very good vet that I've been referred to in the town that I live. I'm sure I won't get the hassle that Animal Samaritans has provided as a courtesy. And it was stupid. I had to call in three times for them to talk and say they would not make an appointment. They kept hanging up like they were not professional not even saying goodbye. No, they have a racket going that brand new building it's a racket I believe corrupt because they don't care about the pet parent. I'm a disabled person, but they don't see that I tell them, but they don't see that. I need help and understanding what's going on in their facility, but they can't help that they can't even address it. They won't even speak about it. It's disgusting to see people that say they're caring about animals and have them reject human beings that need a little assistance. no to stressful to get to a vet in that place. They like to only deal with small animals. They're prejudice against dogs that are big so don't go there totally not recommended. The nastiness has been talked about several times in the dog park in the town that I live in.

I had my rescued dog spayed here at there low cost clinic and they were fabulous. Today I picked up my poorly drawn portrait and there was nothing poor about the pics at all. Loved the Pics and so grateful for all of the work you're doing for the fur baby's across the Coachella Valley. Keep up with your amazing work, your essential for all of us because we're nothing without our companionship of our pets. Great Fundraiser

Excellent Veterinary Ophthalmic Specialty Care My dog's wonderful vet, Dr. Peter Henein at Palm Springs Animal Hospital, referred us to Dr. Pamela Ko (at Animal Samaritans) for specialty ophthalmology care. Dr. Ko was fantastic. She took the time to thoroughly explain what was going on with Gracie's eye and patiently answered all my questions. She performed a complete exam, which included advanced diagnostic tests to ensure we understood the underlying issue. The level of expertise was evident, and much appreciated. I highly recommend Dr. Ko if your pet has an eye issue. We are so fortunate to have such great veterinarians here in the Desert.

Yes, the building is nice, modern and clean but what really makes this place amazing is the staff that work here. I'll forever be grateful for the support and compassion they showed me during one of my hardest moments in life. Rewind: I'm actually not a local and was traveling here from out of town. I was staying in the desert for a few weeks so I brought my dog and cat down with me. In the most stressful of scenarios (traveling and being on vacation) my 13-year old cat fell ill almost immediately after we got into town. After a few days of her seeming not like herself and not eating, I brought her here to the urgent care. A few hundred dollars later and testing it was confirmed that my little one was dying (This wasn't a complete shock as she had been diagnosed with kidney disease a year before with a prognosis of only a few weeks to months to live.) You just never expect to be away from home when something like this happens.... The biggest blessing was that the doctor and techs encouraged me that I could take her home to have a couple more days to process the decision of putting her down/to see if there could be any improvements (even though it wasn't likely.) Having those extra couple days to say goodbye made the process so much more bearable and assured me that I wasn't making a rash decision... when you see your pet declining you know when it's time. I was just really grateful for how the team was so compassionate and flexible with me as I made this decision. While they were all professional, they felt like friends when I needed them most. Bringing my baby back to be euthanized on a holiday weekend was traumatic, but the team handled everything with grace and compassion. They have a special room where you get to say goodbye to your baby and it is very tranquil and lovely overall when dealing with such a tragedy. At the very minimum you would hope for a safe space when enduring something so difficult and they definitely created that....Again the team couldn't have been lovelier. They see these kinds of things every day, but they made me feel like I mattered. The whole process was expensive, but at the end of the day I would do anything for my animals so it just comes with the territory. Looking back, it was worth every penny to make an informed and educated decision and with how well everything was handled from start to finish that I'm so grateful for this team. I hope you find yourself here under less painful circumstances, but I am here to say that this is an amazing urgent care and the staff are A+.

I brought my French Bulldog, Otis, to urgent care because he had been experiencing decreased activity, weakness, and changes in behavior that were concerning to me. Upon arrival, he was panting heavily. As a French Bulldog owner, I understand that panting can be alarming, but Otis frequently becomes worked up in the car, during travel, and in unfamiliar environments, especially during extreme heat. Before my pet's history was fully discussed or I was even checked in, staff immediately focused on the panting and began discussing sedation and emergency concerns. I was initially told about a medication costing approximately $600. Later, the veterinarian explained a different medication was needed so he could examine Otis, and I agreed to those charges. After Otis was taken to the treatment area, I waited for updates. Instead of receiving information about his condition, I was approached multiple times regarding financing options and credit applications. At that point, I still had not received any explanation of what the veterinarian had found, what his physical examination showed, or what the next steps would be. Eventually I was presented with an estimate of approximately $2,000. When I asked what had been found on examination and whether the veterinarian would discuss his assessment with me, I was told that nothing could be determined without additional laboratory work and X-rays. I specifically asked if the veterinarian would return to explain his clinical impressions or provide any guidance regarding the symptoms that brought me in, and I was told no. What disappointed me most was not the estimate itself. Veterinary medicine is expensive, and diagnostic testing has value. My concern is that I left without any meaningful discussion of the problem I brought Otis in for. The visit became entirely focused on diagnostics and financing before I ever received an explanation of what the veterinarian thought might be going on. As a pet owner, I understand that a diagnosis cannot always be made without testing. However, I believe clients deserve clear communication, a discussion of examination findings, and an opportunity to understand the veterinarian's concerns before being asked to make major financial decisions. I left feeling like the primary focus was obtaining approval for diagnostics rather than helping me understand my dog's condition. After spending nearly $300, I still did not have answers regarding the symptoms that prompted the visit in the first place. I hope this feedback helps improve communication with future clients, particularly those who are scared, trying to do the right thing for their pets, and working within real financial limitations.

Three of us went independently to see one dog we saw in the 'coming soon' category. We called on a Friday and were told he was at the groomer and would be available to be seen the next day, so all of us went independently to meet the dog. We were told up front there was a lot of interest in this particular dog which we understood. Each one of us had been told that the dog was to undergo a full exam and would be neutered but not yet on the schedule for that procedure. Once neutered it would take 1 to 2 weeks in order to be moved from coming soon to available, and only once he was officially available would we able to fill out an application. I had been told over the phone by a gentleman I could take a blank application home in order to get it ready ahead of time but when I showed up they said I could not have one. We were all told to call during the time the dog was recovering from the neutering (1-2 weeks) in order to see if he was available yet. This was on a Saturday. By the first of the week, maybe 2 or 3 days later, we all are told (in separate phone calls), "He's been adopted." The photo of the dog had been removed from coming soon, and not transferred to available for adoption. This was a particularly attractive dog. There is a concerning mention of someone within the organization taking him. I don't want to believe that as they stressed how only when the applications were gathered and vetted with references phoned would a decision be made and not to expect a call if you did not get the dog. They emphasized thorough vetting to find the very best home for the dog. We believed them and respected the process. But the outcome was not at all what we expected and certainly not what we were told. The dog had not even been scheduled for exam and neutering when all of us saw him that Saturday, and even if the dog had been neutered it would've still been in recovery. There is something very fishy about this. I will say again, this has nothing to do with not being chosen to take home this dog. This is totally about being misled, and worse--quite possibly someone working there quickly taking the dog for themselves and denying the public some of whom, like us, have donated to this 501c3 over the many years. An element of trust has been taken away by this non-profit after this episode, and the reviews here seem to echo that area of concern.
