I have been yelping for years and I believe this is the first time I'm reviewing a business where I went in knowing it was not going to be a positive experience but I ended up receiving compassion and felt heard and understood. My mom lives in the Coachella Valley and she has had her cat, Carrie Catshaw for the last 17 years, a rescue that ended up becoming her best friend. Unfortunately, my mom had to make the difficult decision of euthanizing her companion. She was too upset to setup the arrangements on her own, so I assisted by searching where this could be done in her area. I decided to come here as it was the nearest provider to her. When I spoke to them on the phone to make the appointment, they were so kind and helpful. They were able to convey their condolences on the phone and not at one point did they treat me like another transaction. An appointment was made for a couple weeks later. When I drove out to my mom's to be there for her, we walked into this veterinary office and the woman who was working at the reception desk was so nice and welcoming and treated my mom with so much love. I wish I recalled her name. After just a few minutes, we were assigned an examination room. Keely, a veterinary assistant, briefed us and shared her condolences. She obviously has compassion for animals, but she was able to professionally and genuinely console my mother, who may have not been able to articulate it at the time, but was so grateful for her role that day. Lastly, Dr. Fenn was a godsend that day. In addition to being compassionate in his own right, I commend his ability to explain the steps of the procedure in a clear and concise way, in a situation were one's headspace would not allow them to comprehend anything. My mom was unable to stay for the entire process but was given the opportunity to say goodbye. I opted to stay so her beloved cat would not have to pass without a familiar face. I am so grateful to the entire team for taking such good care of us. If I didn't live in Long Beach, I would, without a question, bring my handsome husky malamute fur child to have Dr. Fenn be his primary care provider. If you live in the Coachella Valley, this needs to be your vet office. I cannot imagine a better one in all of Riverside County. read more

Long Version: We ended up here after a $3500 Urgent care visit elsewhere where they took the dog away and ran up charges. Gave us pain medication and sent us home with a hazy diagnosis of what was wrong. What a refreshing place we found at Ridgeline. Called made an appointment had to wait a few days to get in as it is a busy office. Arrived 30 minutes early for my appointment and waited 35 minutes in the lobby so was in an exam room exactly 5 minutes after the scheduled appointment time. In the waiting room I witnessed about 6 turnovers in my 35 minute wait. The dogs/cat were taken back with owners to private exam rooms. The Veterinarian walked each person out to the lobby when done and there were cordial and loving exchanges with the pets/vet/owners. Some had last minute questions and the vet took her time to answer and explain in detail. The vet herself called a few of the patients back into their exam rooms. Vet Techs weighed pets and asked questions in the lobby and exam rooms. Vet in my case was great. He looked at all the paperwork and test results we brought in from the prior Veterinary visit in advance. Carefully examined the dog from head to tail and went over his opinion of findings with me. The diagnosis was mild acute Pancreatitis. We discussed her current food and schedule and he made recommendations but didn't do anything drastic to her routine or feeding. The total for this visit was $89. There was no overselling and no pushing of additional unnecessary services or tests. Will be bringing all of our animals back here as a Veterinarian like this with a clean office, good staff, and true love for animals is hard to find. read more

This is just an update to the review I left about 2.5 years ago. I always get a call back the day I leave a message. If I leave a message 5 minutes before they close I know they will not get back to me until the next business day and I don't give a bad review if there is no response in 10 minutes. Emergency vets in the Desert are crazy expensive. (ie; VEG which will quote you the cost of a new car). This is not an emergency vet office and after you get that bankrupting quote from the 24 hour emergency vet in the valley know that this place is not a 24 hour emergency vet office. (I wish it were). You still cannot find a better clinic than Ridgeline and Dr. Reedy and Dr. Eddy are spectacular (even though Dr. Eddy is mostly retired). I have never had a problem bringing my sick dog in and not having it be seen. I would not expect it to be done to pets who have never been there before because that is what an Emergency Vet is for. RIDGELINE, you just keep doing what you do because you guys are GREAT!! read more

My grand dog was very sick and I tried calling Ridgeline over and over and over, they just would not answer their phone. This is her regular vet office and I expected more from them. At least a call back to see why I was calling nothing they did absolutely nothing no call back No text nothing!! I was able to find another vet who would see her and good thing too as she was very close to death with a very unusual but deadly infection, I have never in my life experienced any type of medical provider that was so cold and calloused and truly does not care, my opinion. It's not a good one. I do not recommend this vet. When the issue is real and serious do not expect this vet to be concerne. They do not care period. read more

Perform Agonizing and Painful Euthanasia I am very shocked about the reviews of how compassionate, friendly, and professional the staff are here. On Thursday we coordinated with the adoption place California Paws - A Bull Terrier Rescue (https://californiapawsrescue.org/) to put down a dog we adopted and that required fee $525. This dog was in our care 24/7 for almost two months; poured heart and soul into this sweet adult dog. I am very disappointed that the rescue center did not perform a thorough assessment on the dog because her neurological issue was missed. This issue could not be corrected with medication and surgery would have more risks than benefits. As sweet and cuddly as she was she should have been humanely put down if a thorough assessment was performed. This was not the case. This was a nightmare! On Thursday, arriving at Ridgeline Veterinary Clinic the staff was not professional or friendly or compassionate. The entire euthanasia process took 7 minutes and no staff was sincerely sorry for their actions nor did their actions prompt peace and security to the dog or people who had to put the dog down. An injection was given and the dog started seizing, gasping for air, tensing muscles, and yelping in pain. The personnel left the room and 7 agonizing minutes went by until the personnel came back in to do the IV. This process was horrible and terrifying and not done in a respectable or peaceful manner at all. This was a drawn out process that put the dog in pain. It would have been more humane to put a bullet to the dogs head than the process and care we received at this clinic. I am completely ashamed and applauded that this clinic did not perform a successful or peaceful euthanasia done by any respectable professional with compassion clearly lacking some education in the process and not done by the vet themself. I will not recommend this clinic nor the rescue center to anyone I know or come in contact with. read more

We have been going to Ridgeline since we got our little dog from the shelter 4 years ago. Early this month our dog got acute diarrhea and vomiting and was seen by a vet (never the same one) and given meds. He got worse so I left multiple messages (they don't answer their phone, you have to leave a message.) The vet never called back. After three days, we showed up in the morning at 8:00, were told they couldn't see him and to go to emergency care in Palm Desert which opened at 10:00. Because we thought our dog might die from the blood in his vomiting and diarrhea, we went to VCA on Ramon where a wonderful vet saw us immediately and gave a different treatment plan. He was better within an hour. Ridgeline was negligent as a provider and callous in their response to our needs. Never going back. They are obviously unable to manage the caseload they schedule for. read more

used to enjoy Ridgeline Veterinary Clinic and it's staff , as a matter of fact I would have followed 1 of these doctors anywhere because she is just that good. The day that changed it all for me was the day her staff member Laura pulled my wife and I aside to let us know that she had run our senior cats blood work and he was not only a severe diabetic but that he was headed towards renal failure. We were devastated to say the least and hung on to the advice and recommendations that Laura gave to my wife and I When our doctor came into the room we expected the worse after just hearing the news from Laura but there was no bad news, no mention of being diabetic, no renal failure nothing but a normal routine check up. Being confused by all of this my wife approached Laura and asked her why our veterinarian did not tell us what she had stated and her response was that our Doctor didn't feel with our cats age it was worth upsetting us or our cat and that it was unnecessary to provide such an extensive treatment plan. In my wife and my opinion that decision should have been left up to us to make. Laura provided us with a different veterinary office number and said they were better at treating senior animals that have special needs. We thanked Laura for caring about our cat and for helping us because without her information we would have never known or been able to get the help our cat needs and deserves. Needless to say we will not be back to Ridgeline Veterinary Clinic and do not recommend it to friends... Since posting my review of Ridgeline Veterinary Clinic I was contacted by the office manager and not only was she very judging, she also acted as if she did not believe my wife and I in regards to our interaction with doctors and staff. She then asked me to give her my full name, date we were seen, our cats information and informed me that, "Ridgeline staff does not give medical information to clients or nor do they perform test or medical procedures, that is why the doctors are hired." Not only rude and misleading but very much so a lie because these non certified veterinarian technicians preform blood work, blood draws, suture removal etc very distasteful in my opinion. May I add I was never even asked about the wellbeing of my cat who obviously should betheir main focus and concern being that he is their client not myself but NO that was not the case the main focus was to find out my identity so they could potentially try to silence a bad review in which they had my post taken down. I am an American Citizen and Freedom Of Speech is in my number 1 constitutional right. Now what would have truly been right was for this office manage to care more about my Cat and less about making themselves look great. Dr. Reedy & her staff are great. I was happy to hear she was opening her own practice. The office girls are efficient & organized & great at communicating. All Covid precautions are being followed for everyone's safety as well. One of the cats we rescued needed an eye removed. Dr. Reedy's quote was $300 less than another vet's office! And it's not just about the money, I know Dr. Reedy does an excellent job on eye enucleation surgeries from the cat rescue I have volunteered with. Back in 2020, this clinic was terrific. They handled the pandemic beautifully, and took care of my cats. I was so impressed with Rachel Reedy, that I chose to write about her for my first column. Yesterday, my cat presented with excruciating pain in his back. They couldn't take us. The desk was lovely about it, but I had a cat screaming in pain. We went to the new urgent care in Palm Desert, and they were great, but my cat had stopped presenting symptoms. So they suggested I get X-rays at my normal if it persisted. As soon as we got home @ 10pm it started again. I called Ridgeline today to get an appointment for an X-ray, and ANGELA tried to shame me 2x for not getting work done at urgent care. It was over $1200 just for testing, and maybe he had a bad Charlie horse because no symptoms when palpitated. After she shamed me a 2nd time, I hung up. She called back to offer my 8:15am with a charge for their trouble. 3 years I have been going here. I just found Homec through a friend. Switching to them. Honestly, I'm barely holding it together on the phone, and she wants to visit a past where she was not present. Maybe you were having a bad day, Angela but I was pleading for help. Should I have mentioned I brought my kitty in 2 months ago because he had a slight limp and I started giving him supplements based on what the doc told me when Angela asked "how long has this been going on" with an attitude? Or just said, "yesterday when you couldn't see your patient?" Oof, I am so angry. read more

i always recommend this place to other locals for two main reasons: its affordable & staff & vets are so professional & nice. its not ridiculously overpriced like other places in the valley. i live in the lq the cove but im always willing to drive to cat city because i love this place. the downside to this is that they're so good so they're always booked & busy. ive had to go to other clinics that charged me twice as much & the service was not that good because they couldnt see me soom enough at ridgeline read more

There are not enough words of gratitude in the English dictionary to explain how grateful I am to have Ridgeline as my veterinarian. Recently, I had to put my kitty down after getting sick out of the blue. We tried to get her better but at over 15 1/2 years it was not on the cards - not that we didn't try!! I had to make a really hard decision to let her go. The love, kindness, and care that I received along with my cat Gracie was so beautiful and heartfelt. This review is in response to John J's review. This is completely inappropriate. 1. We all suffer from a loss but to try and blame the loss of a 13 y/o dog on wrong meds seems fishy. You're not telling the whole story, and looking for someone to blame. You should be thankful you got 13 years. 2. I've used Dr. Reedy for 9 or so years now and she's an amazing person and vet. To say the things you said is wrong. She is one of the most compassionate and caring professionals I've met. 3. You say your seeking a lawyer? It is good to see the wonderful reviews that Dr. Reedy and her staff are getting. The one that baffles me is the one star below. With texts back and forth from our rescue organization, (California Paws)regarding a dog that this owner of the review had adopted and had 6 weeks.They originally came for another dog and selected Sheila. She was told that Sheila does spin, but they still wanted her. Her own vet wanted to put her on medication for spinning. When she adopted it wasn't severe enough for her to be euthanized. Apparently it had gotten worse, just wish that they would have returned the dog to us sooner rather than waiting that long and we did offer them another dog for their donation fee that was made. If Shiela were brought back to our facility as requested and in our contract, then we could have further evaluated her apparently progressing condition. She "didn't want her in a kennel environment" was her text back to me and wouldn't bring her back. Dr Reedy and their staff have been caring for our bull terriers for many years now. Countless times of emergencies to save dogs, after hours also just to make sure these dogs are well and taken care of. This rescue owes a lot to Ridgeline and their staff for being a part of our life saving mission. They are very well respected in the community as an excellent , compassionate vet, my personal dogs go to her. This is why it is upsetting to see that after trying to help her and come up with a solution, she turned and lashed out at both of us. The blessing that came out of all of this is that Sheila had a taste of a good home before passing. These people are no doubt good pet parents as they cared so much about her. Grateful that she had a taste of a good caring home life instead of living in a rescue environment. read more

After many voice-mails I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Reedy. Her education from WSU, a top Vet school in Washington State and Yelp reviews were why I wanted my 6# pomeranian & Yorkie mix to see her. My dog has been experiencing digestive issues. Other than keeping him on a diet of sweet potatoes, green beans, cooked carrots, potato and venison, Dr. Reedy suggested a 45 day probiotic, and anti-nausea prescription, just in case we have another after hour or holiday emergency. read more
