Nice selection of figures and manga. Some of the mangas are missing volume 1 though. They had many figures, lots of which were common. They had a few rarer ones too.

The place is kind of small but, it has a lot of selections for anime/manga lovers! They have a lot of keychain selections, mongo books ma'am manga books, merchandise, etc. that I want to come back again to see wgat else they will have in the future!

This is a whole experience. The store has a great deal of unique items of various price ranges. There were books and figurines and collector pieces. I wish there were more stickers available. The staff were knowledgeable and courteous. Some of the patrons were "dressed" for the occasion which was also fun.

Neato! Have been visiting this shop since they were stuck in the corner down the way a bit. Always friendly and helpful staff, but new storefront directly on Beltline is so much better, newer, cleaner, and has more inventory. Neither my husband or I are really into anime; however, after a stint in Tokyo are infatuated (that would be a word I would use to describe my husband's feelings; I'm more just re interested) with Japenese stuff. Anime Pop has a great assortment of items including collectible figurines and cards, graphic Ts, videos and games, of course comics, and even some imported edible treats that can't be found many other places. Something for everyone! So, when we're in Addison, we enjoy stopping by to see what's new...and it's a great time to allow the hubster to geek out for a bit with the employees. He especially loves to tell them "in passing" he IS the voice over guy on the Japanese version of the video game Guilty Gear Izuka. ;) True story - when we were in Tokyo he was invited and paid 200 American bucks to go into the studio for a couple of hours. By far one of the geekdom highlights of his life - he would have paid them! "Are you reeeaady?! 1, 2, 3...let's fight!" (#humblebrag) LOL! Overall great store. Yes, prices can be rather high...but hey...it's a small specialty niche, most people are willing to pay, and AP can sometimes find items that are impossible otherwise. Don't forget to recipricate the Vulcan waive as you leave the store. Live long and prosper...

All the anime stuff you could ever want. And likely, much more. I take my daughter here on her birthday nearly every year.

I'm not going to pretend to be any kind of authority on Anime or the products surrounding the culture. While I enjoyed many shows from Japan when I was younger, we didn't even have the word "anime" at the time. They were just cartoons like any other to us. Star Blazers could sit right alongside Inspector Gadget and there was no distinction. Now though, there is a whole subculture based around anime and the collection of products designed to appeal to those who enjoy it. If you find yourself in need of some anime gear or a collectible, you can likely find it at Anime Pop in Addison, TX. It's a pretty long drive for us as we live in Fort Worth. But once or twice a year my daughter asks me to take her over to Anime Pop. Usually on her birthday. And she always has a good time with it. She always finds a bunch of good stuff that she wants. And it always costs me a bunch of money, but I can't complain about that. Heaven knows that when I find western comics collectibles that I want I buy them, so I don't mind doing the same when she finds anime goodies she'd like to have. This is a good store with helpful courteous staff who are happy to talk about what they have, what's coming, and the anime culture. They are always eager to approach customers and help out. And they recently moved a few blocks up the street to a bigger location, so there's even more stuff you're likely to want to buy. Check them out! :)

Nearing the end of a brief visit to Dallas recently--from Saturday afternoon to early Sunday…read moreafternoon--I decided to check out Josey Records in Dallas. To me, as someone who fits into the record collector/record dealer/cratedigger and DJ categories, visiting a record store I've never been to before is always an exciting or intriguing adventure. Josey has a reputation for being a good spot to buy records, so I am glad I finally went here to see what's up. Just looking around the store initially, I could see there are several areas in which the store could be improved or made more interesting. My first observation re: genre sections is that the signage for aisles could be more prominent. All of it is placed rather low, but at great record stores, you're never left guessing where everything is. You just find the music you're looking for more easily. With the massive volume of music releases in the store, I would like to see better curation of what's in stock. For example there were lots of Brian Eno releases, but not the ones I'd be interested in. For Parliament Funkadelic, there were just 2 Parliament 45s, but no Funkadelic and no George Clinton 45s. I thought that was weird. I was also looking for a famous jazz guitarist who's listed on the website, but the guy working the counter didn't even know who he was. Overall, I think the selection is decent if you are willing to spend time just looking through various sections, but there's no help on the floor--so you're just basically on your own. It kind of reminded me of shopping for records in a warehouse, but the warehouse I usually go to has much better curation. I should also state I tend to like smaller stores which get the mix of old and new releases more right or perhaps even focus on a certain niche. On a different note, in addition to music, there are lots of other cool things at Josey: a stage for performances, books, posters, tshirts and other ephemera. So, it is easy for music nerds to get lost here. Also, the parking situation is really good here, and I thought the service was good--the guys here are friendly, and one of them did go back into the aisles to look for something. Overall, I would rate this store a 4/5.

As a huge book collector, this place felt like a treasure trove. There was truly something for everyone, and the prices were fantastic. One of my favorite finds was a beautiful collection of Mark Twain stories -- such a gem. I also picked up a few books for my daughter, and we had the best time browsing together. The kids section was so sweet and welcoming. She was getting into everything (as toddlers do!), but everyone was so kind and understanding. The rest of the store has a bit more of a library feel -- lots of readers quietly flipping through pages, sitting on benches and tucked-away desks -- which I think is wonderful. I was mindful of the more relaxed, peaceful atmosphere outside the kids area, but it was really heartwarming to be in a space where people clearly love books and value time spent with them. You can tell this place is run by people who genuinely care about reading and community. I just want to see this business thrive. We'll definitely try to stop by again before heading home. I absolutely loved it here.

I asked about the albums they sell, which often don't have photocards, and they said those were "mistake offers" or donations. I wasn't going to post a review, but after getting home and opening one of the albums I noticed they damaged the photocard. It was wedged as far into the crease of the page as possible, causing the top left corner to be bent, so I actually lost money since a damaged card lowers the value of it and the album! So, PSA to anyone looking to sell K-Pop albums: they must have photocards or they won't take them! Also, please check how they place photocards and other inclusions in your albums before you leave in case they damage something! Finally, please dm me on Instagram @gp1117.trades if you'd like to buy any albums. Photocards are included in Frequency (damaged), No Labels, Play Hard, Face The Sun (Mingyu and Vernon) and Oddinary. They're around $2-$10 plus shipping, and I also have photocards for sale and trade :)

There was a huge variety of books and an impressive selection of games as well. The overall atmosphere was what really stood out. It wasn't overly "designed" or fancy, but it had such a warm, welcoming vibe. Everyone seemed relaxed and happy--almost like stepping into a little utopian pocket of calm. Even the staff were incredibly friendly. The cashier chatted with us about different sections and recommended a book because we looked like we were enjoying ourselves. It felt playful, social, and genuinely fun. The store was very well organized too. Nothing seemed out of place, which made browsing easy. There were maybe 15-20 customers while we were there, but because the space is large it didn't feel crowded at all. At the same time, it was nice that there were other people around--sometimes being the only customer in a store can feel awkward. The pricing on games was another pleasant surprise. Some were as low as $6-$7, and a few were even sealed, which you almost never see at that price. I'm not sure exactly how their inventory system works, but the deals were great. Location-wise it's super convenient--right off the highway with plenty of parking. Overall, it was a top-tier experience and a genuinely fun outing. If you're visiting Dallas, especially with kids, this would be a great stop. It looks like a chain, so I'm curious if other locations have the same vibe, but based on this visit I would absolutely recommend it and would definitely go back.

I showed up here with a huge duffel back filled with brand new books- I've been cleaning out my closet and decided why not get some money for these anyway-- I read on my iPad now (I know, I'm sorry.) The guy at the desk was super nice and helpful-- explained the process of how it works: -They scan each book in their system and the computer basically tells them how much each book is valued. I didn't wait that long until they called my name and I'm thinking "ok, I'm at least gonna get like 90$ for these..." NOPE! The huge duffel bag filled with books was worth to them... Ready for it? $12.87!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Insane. I'm sorry but that is such a scam. I will always love half price books, I spent a lot of time in the one off Northwest Highway as a kid and got all my books from there. But this was just extremely sad. I know for a fact if I said ok, that's fine, they would turn around and sell EACH BOOK for AT LEAST $9.99. Don't waste your time lugging a heavy bag filled with books. Just keep them or sell online. So sorry.
