Difficult to find since it's located in an industrial Park. I pre-ordered before I went so just went to pick up order. Can't view any of the baked goods because you can only order behind a glass window which is away from the showcase. After seeing a friend posting pictures of the guava cream cheese rolls, I knew I had to pay this Bake Shop a visit! I've known about Ani's for years and have tried several of their products, including their sweet rolls and cinnamon bread, but didn't realize how many more products they made! I guess the extent of my experience was limited to the items they sold at Costco or other grocery stores. So, early one morning, I planned my attack! After checking online for the address to this Bake Shop, I planned my route and even planned what I would buy! Jumped on the H1, heading West and took the Halawa off-ramp, where we circled around and took the first left. Ani's was right at the first corner on the right, in a warehouse building but visible from the road. Just a few parking stalls fronting their store, but lot of on street parking also. Wouldn't matter, since the inside of this place is small and you're bound to bump cheeks inside with someone else if you're not paying attention! When I first walked in, all I saw were the shelves and shelves of delicious baked goods, including various types of bread loaves, including corn bread! And the showcase, although small, had a bunch of donuts which made my mouth water! And they had butter horns! I had to try it since I've been on an endless quest to find the perfect butter horn since Makiki Bake Shop no longer made them! After buying a bunch of stuff, including guava and passion fruit cream cheese rolls, along with one butter horn, my search had ended! I found the best butterhorn since Makiki Bake Shop!!! The cream cheese rolls were okay, but my taste buds were singing with the butter horns! On my next visit, I called ahead and ordered a dozen butter horns. Went up to Halawa and again went off inside this place! Dangerous when you're hungry! Man, these butter horns are dangerous! And they're about the size of my fat head!!! 3 bucks each with tax, but so worth it! If you haven't tried Ani's Bake Shop, you definitely have to get here! And since Honolulu does not yet have a Krispy Kreme, this would be a great alternative! read more

I do love Ani's butter cream rolls!! My fave is peanut butter but most other people love their lilikoi. I went around 945am & luckily they had a lot to choose from. But more things came up for tomorrow where I needed more & while Yelp states they're open until 6pm, my mom went there at 450pm and they were closed!!! Their posted hours said they were open til 5pm, but they DON'T so beware! Oh and what makes this WORSE is that my mom CALLED to say she was coming & they didn't even try to stay open til 5pm. Cuz of that example of extremely poor customer service, a loss of two stars. Seems like they close whenever they want or maybe they ran out of products to sell?? idk. The blueberry cheesecake was amazing - light & creamy, rather than dense and cheesy. Loved it. Five stars. The vanilla cream butter roll was meh. Brought down the overall review to a 3 Star. Basically a Hawaiian sweetbread with some sweet butter in between the two halves, not a filling. After all the great reviews, we expected much more. Anticlimactic. Ani's cream rolls are the bomb! They raised their prices but still great stuff. Oh, but the one thing I'm kinda bummed about is they barely put any cream on the buns now. Sooooo little bit. If you got a sweet tooth and love dinner rolls paired with butter and jelly/jam, this is the place to go to. Their lilikoi, guava, peanut butter and blueberry rolls are buttery and always hit the spot. These rolls pair really well with black coffee in the morning. If my staff were working at the office - this would be my go-to for morning treats to put a pep in their morning steps. I've gone their twice and it's worth going back for more. Oh and the price for a dozen of those delicious rolls is ok at $14 a dozen, although I don't remember it being $14 when I went last year. The rolls melt in your mouth. The flavor choices are out of this world. We've tried a few of their rolls with flavored cream as well as their pineapple pound cake. Both were devoured by the family in no time. The strawberry cream cheese rolls were finger-lickin' good. This is a GREAT place to stop by and pick up treats for the office, or to enjoy them at home. You have not had sweet bread until you've had Ani's sweet bread! It's carried at some supermarkets and stores like Long's, but for their full assortment you need to head to their bake shop. Super easy on and off from the H-1 freeway. There's about 6 parking spaces right outside, which I've never had trouble finding. My favorite is the Apple Cinnamon sweet bread! The loaf says 10 servings but I usually eat it in three. My partner likes the blueberry. Comes also in guava, pineapple, apricot. You will also find all sorts of goodies from pies, to pastries and other baked delights. They even have pre-made sandwiches, drinks and chips for a quick lunch. There's never more than three customers in there at a time so service and check out is quick. I always get assorted sweet bread loaves when I go and share them with friends, family and co-workers. Seriously brings smiles to faces. Highly recommend!! read more

A tiny little bakery in industrial Halawa. I've always eaten Ani's sweet breads but usually I buy them from Long's or a grocery store. I discovered their bake shop is near where I reside so I took a visit. It is very tiny but full of awesome baked goods. I got their famous sweet rolls filled with delicious spreads of strawberry cream cheese in the middle. I also bought the lilikoi butter ones. There are tons of choices for the sweet rolls - from matcha, raspberry, blueberry, guava and even coffee. There are cookies, malasadas and sweet breads too. There is enough stalls for parking and it was easy to get in and out of. read more

Usually can get really good dessert from here. This time, when they had pumpkin pie available, I tried it. The pie was watery and could hardly taste the pumpkin. For a 9 inch, over $25 pie, it was awful. I also stopped getting their apricot pie as you couldn't taste the apricot for the overpowering orange flavor. Next time, I will stick to the apple pie, as it is usually very good and my normal go-to pie. read more

We swing by here first thing when we arrive from Cali. Everything I've tried from there is amazing. I love having the butter rolls for breakfast with coffee or tea, so I make sure to buy enough to last the entire trip. My fave is the coconut butter rolls and the chocolate haupia pie or "crack pie". And they're generous with the ham and cheese, and it comes with chips which I hadn't realized. I come to Ani's mainly for their butter cream rolls. They are so good and come in a variety of flavors to choose from. My personal favorite is lilikoi, but I've also tried lychee, strawberry cream cheese, and others. I highly recommend you try these if you haven't already. The bread is soft and fluffy and the butter cream is light and a perfect accompaniment to the buns. Great item to bring for a potluck for sure! I haven't tried anything else yet, but I've seen many patrons purchase their pastries and pies. Tiny bakery with great sweets! The glazed donuts are good and have a slight lemon flavor. I also enjoyed an apple turnover. Typical options are available with custard, chocolate filling, powdered sugar and glaze. Friends also encourage trying the poi masala- which is a local treat. Store: It's a hole in the wall type of place, definitely no where to sit and enjoy your delicious rolls, pies or donuts. You walk in and BAM! Everything is right there. It's easy to just get in and out. Food: DELICIOUSNESS! We've been coming here for years, since I was a kid and I'd go to halawa summer fun lol. My most favorite is the blueberry cheesecake slice, and the guava and lilikoi Butter cream rolls. The cheesecake slice will set you back about $6.75 ish, and the butter cream rolls in which they have every popular flavor you can think of, those will set you back about $12.00 ea. HOLY BUTTER CREAM ROLLS!!! Ummm so one day my co-worker brought in 'butter rolls' for everyone... I kindly declined the offer but she was insistent that these were the best butter rolls around so she gave me one... looks can be deceiving because the butter roll looked average... but once you bit into the soft bread, the butter flavored filling... you are HOOKED!!! OMG FOODGASM! The LILIKOI flavored rolls is what she brought in. It was DELISH!!! Truly THE BEST roll I've ever had... and I don't even really care for lilikoi! I got directions to the bakery (of course) and ended up visiting one morning after I finished my night shift. I purchased a package of lilikoi butter cream rolls, peanut butter cream rolls, and 2 chocolate long johns. The peanut butter cream rolls are just as yummy. BUT, I personally prefer the lilikoi (as do my parents)... the BF likes the peanut butter cream. I've also tried the original butter cream which is just as good. The long johns are HUGE!!! And BY FAR, they are THE BEST long johns!!! The exterior is so soft it melts in your mouth... I usually like to eat pastries cold (weird I know) but it doesn't harden up the bread like a long john from Napoleon's Bakery for example. It stays SUPER SOFT!!! A package of butter cream rolls is $8.99. The long john's are $2 or maybe a little more? My apologies but I can't remember. The prices are a little steeper but it is TOTALLY WORTH EVERY CENT!!! They have other flavors of rolls (original, strawberry, guava) as well as other pastries (variety of donuts and ensemadas)... also blueberry cheesecake and jello cream cheese squares (which I have yet to try) as well as sweet bread and pies. Parking lot is small but people are in and out so it's usually not an issue. Staff is SOOOOOO FRIENDLY! The woman working in the AM is such a sweetheart! Easy to find as well. Plastic accepted! I love Ani's Bake Shop! I've been going here for about 5 years now and one of my favorite things is that is consistant. They have the same counter help, very helpful and nice. They quality of their baked goods, always the best! If you haven't had their banana bread or butter cream rolls, you are missing out!! They are so delicious and not overly sweet, seriously just right, made to perfection! You can buy pastries here as well. It is a great take to your morning office staff, or to get for home. We do both! :) If you want the best selection, get there early when they open, 6am. Ani's pies you can find at many local gorcery stores. Are they good, yes! Finally! Made that detour and came here at last! After wanting to stop by forever, it's kind of out of the way, so it's easy to forget about it. They are located in the Halawa Industrial area, so you need to know where you are going before you stop by or els you will drive in circles, but so well worth it! I got the BUTTER CREAM ROLLS!! Oh, my gosh! Delish. They have a variety of flavors such as; peanut butter, apricot, pineapple and many others, but I opt for just the plain original butter cream rolls, no flavoring. So it's basically, a sweet bun cut in half and sweet butter cream smeared throughout, tell you the truth, I scrape some off and it is just perfect for me. The sweet bun and butter cream taste so freshly made. Looking forward to returning. As for parking, they only have a few right up next to the bakery entrance.
