Anita's had fantastic breakfast! I got the country fried steak and eggs and it was delicious. I had already started eating when I realized I forgot to take a picture first, so I promise the eggs look better when they bring them to the table! Great service. I definitely will be coming back whenever I'm in town!

Shrimp Po Boy
Andrew T.

First trip in after new owners about 5 months ago. I was in a rush and didn't have time for the 16 minute cook time for the broasted chicken, so I opted for a shrimp po boy with a side Greek salad and they were both fresh and tasty. The server was extremely busy but very friendly and attentive. The owner was nice enough to stop but to check on my group and was sharing his new plans for the future of the restaurant. This is worth a stop and seems to be very popular for breakfast offering several unique omelets.

WE must have been at a freak lull. It was packed with huge line as we left around 10:30 am on a Sunday.

The Mission: June 12, 2022 Our quest for the top 3 breakfast spots in the Sarasota, Vamo, Osprey, Nokomis, Venice, North Port, Englewood corridor. Anita's is our 7th entry / challenger. Eggs Benedict w/Ham, Florentine, or specialty (seafood, veggies, corned beef/hash, or others) and hash browns/potatoes and grits are the sides. (((as of this writing & reviewed on Yelp so far - The Breakfast Cottage, Eggstraordinary Cafe, BLVD Cafe, Max's Table, Willow's Cafe, Toasted Mango Cafe.))) Executive Summary: A very nice place with great service. Very good eggs Benedict. Off the top, the service here was extra ordinary by Nicole who made many suggestions and helped us tune our order. As well the daring request of splitting my order so I could try one each of the gold standard egg Benedict. (smile) I received the Eggs Benedict with Canadian bacon/ham with tomato and a lovely Hollandaise Sauce that I was afraid of when it came out so generously adorned......but it was fantastic! English muffin was warm and not soggy. the egg was cooked a bit yolk firm. Ham/bacon was nice product and cooked properly. 6/10 My other was an Eggs Benedict Florentine with spinach & tomato. Eggs were perfect on this one. The spinach was fresh and a little bit too lemony and wet/oily for my tastes. I prefer a little more of a cooked/saute texture. My side was home fried potatoes and they were classic and perfect. Light and crisp and firm. Muffin was NOT soggy or wet as many spinach and tomatoes are put on drenched in liquid, oils, butter, or tomato 'juice'. 7/10 My wife got the Eggs Benedict seafood w/shrimp & lobster, tomato. It was very good, Eggs done perfect. the shrimp was not a great product and I suspect by coloring and size maybe a canned deal? but tasted goo with the lobster pieces. A good showing with a not soggy muffin. The grits my wife got were cool, had an firm 'air cap' on top and were not too tasty. 6/10 My daughter has been checking out Avocado Toast as we travel around. This entree LOOKED awesome with nicely sliced avocado on top of a healthy bread slice base. She was not aware there was going to be feta on it, and at that an extremely generous amount throughout. She was not a fan and we will just chalk this up to a bad selection/choice. N/R Parking was awesome because we arrived post early bird, and then before what looks like a brunch rush!!! The parking lot was PACKED and two cars waiting for my spot. There were 10 plus in line at the front door. So be prepared, they are very popular and you can see why! One note or 'nit': with table service I HATE having to go up to a register and wait behind two other folks to pay the bill. I really expect to be taken care of an tip accordingly. Also the suggestion (sign at register) that I should tip in cash so the merchant does not incur the merchant fee and likely short the staff the 3% on tips just rubbed me a little (while I stood in line for 5 plus minutes in the middle of an access aisle being 'excused' and sorry'd' the busy wait staff?) I dunno, just don't like the optics or admonishment. We will see if Anita's makes it into the TOP 3 finalist round in a few weeks/months??? They are a very strong contender so far!!! Why don't you check them out yourself!!!!!!!!!!

Corned Beef Hash & Eggs with grits

Everything was delicious! It was busy, not many parking places left, but we got a table right away. Our waitress was amazing! She had a huge table of 12 and she hustled to get to everyone. I had corned beef hash with eggs, grits and a grilled biscuit. Hubby had a veggie omelette with potatoes. Sister had quiche. We were all pleased.

Grilled biscuit, Greek omelette, and grits yummy!

Alway love stopping here for breakfast. We make a trip to this side of Florida and make sure to stop at Anita's family restaurant for breakfast. The food is cooked to our request. The booths provide a quiet space for personal conversations. The staff is very friendly our waitress was Mary S. Loved that she kept my coffee cup full and was always available. I had the Greek omelette with grits and grilled biscuit, my wife had two eggs over easy and home fries and pork chop (2). If you are ever in this area stop by and enjoy some good cookin!

Stuffed French toast!

I wasn't even aware of this place when I stopped here. I was just driving and looking for a place to stop for breakfast. It was definitely a little gamble that paid off. On a Sunday morning, I was able to be seated right away and had a waitress there within seconds. I ordered the stuffed French toast and a single pancake. They were both prepared very well and full of flavor. Prices were about the going rate and the portions were perfect. The location made it easy to find and right on the way for me. I definitely don't have a bad thought or thing to say about Anita's. I'm only in town for another week, but I think I will be returning here a few times.

Very friendly staff. Location was extremely clean. The menu had a great selection. They use applewood bacon so it comes nice and crispy. Food was deliver hot and tasted great. In today's economy price point was good.

This place not only has a great breakfast, but their dinner is good as well. They have wonderful Greek dips and the gyro is amazing.

We do homemade ice-tea so to make Arnold Palmer it's very easy, by putting equal parts of ice tea with lemonade
