    Butter chicken

Bombay bhel is just as good as ever!! Still my favourite indian restaurant in Toronto.

    Nick R.

First dine out in Canada during COVID. Restrictions way different than U.S. but good in my opinion. Atmosphere in the restaurant is good except for the music playing which is pure torture. It's an Indian restaurant play Indian music not piano. The food was excellent, it had the rich flavors I am use to. The lamb vindaloo could have been spicier as it missed the vinegar hotness I like. The Dahl tadki was perfect and went well with the garlic nan. I will be back.

Came here during the time where they allowed dine in but with public health restrictions (late last year). We ordered chicken briyani, butter chicken with a side of garlic naan. Service was really nice and also the food came relatively quickly right after we ordered. I found butter chicken really really good, it paired well with the naan! I am normally not the person to order briyani but my partner wanted it so we got it. It was okay for me but I preferred the butter chicken more. I would for sure come back for some take out.

Bombay Bhel is also known as BB LOUNGE. This outlet is located on Hurontario and Eglington right next to the service Ontario. Getting to this space is easy on maps. As expected they did only take out. We ordered for tandoori chicken and tikka. The taste of the tandoori chicken was good while the chicken tikka was OK . I must say that the quantity of the chicken was very less. It certainly is something one should consider before ordering food from the them. There are other restaurants in the area like masala bites where the quantity of food is good for a lesser price. The staff at the counter was friendly and did offer a 10% discount if I paid in cash. Still the price of the food items were definitely on the higher side. To me this place might be a Miss due to quantity and price of the food.

After my first not so great experience , I did try this place again for the main course and must say I liked the karahi chicken and the chicken korma. The service here is a little slow and can be improved. Good ambience!

WOW! My parents have been telling us about this place for years and we finally got a chance to visit. We tried all of their chaat appetizers and also had the tandoori fish and daal makhni. Fish was perfectly cooked and extremely flavorful. All of the chaat dishes were tasty as well. Well worth the (almost) 1hr drive...next time we're in Toronto we're definitely going to try to come again.

Lamb dum briyani, kadai chicken gravy and tandoori roti !
    Anirutha C.

So here it goes, their lamb dum briyani, kadai chicken gravy and tandoori roti ! The lamb pieces in the briyani was so soft and perfectly well done, and spice level was just enough for Indians. The rotis were soft and matched incredibly with the chicken kadai gravy. For dessert we had their jamuns! They had chats too! we had dahi puri but we were so hungry we just forgot to click a picture I would recommend booking table before you visit !

    Thali with chicken

I have been to Bombay Bhel a number of times. I first found this restaurant by doing a search on Yelp in 2013, before I joined as an active Yelp member! We had a couple of colleagues from India who were helping us out. One was a vegetarian and preferred to eat spicy food. I felt bad that they were living close to our old workplace where there weren't many restaurants. They didn't drive. One evening, I asked if they wanted to do dinner, found this restaurant, and ran the menu by them. They approved, so we headed over there. They loved the food! I first had the thali that contained chicken. The restaurant has both meat and vegetarian dishes. The food is scrumptious. I ordered the garlic naan and it is perfectly garlicky. I order it practically every time I am here. Before both of them headed back to India, our team had a farewell dinner for them. They wanted to come back to this restaurant, so we did. Everyone enjoyed the food and great company. The third time, I had two colleagues from Sweden visiting our department. It seems like a deja-vu situation, but they also didn't have a car. However, they weren't vegetarians. I offered to drive them to the Toronto Premium Outlet, as they wanted to shop. We had a wonderful time. It helps to split up, come back, and compare what we had all purchased. We reconvened at the Bay Outlet, when it was still kicking around. I asked if they wanted to come here. Both of them love East Indian food. So, we went there. They both raved about how tasty the food was. Again, the food didn't disappoint. I had the beef biriyani. It was done so well. The beef was tender and flavourful. The rice was perfect. Since then, I have been back several times for various work-related outings. As you can tell, I love this restaurant and highly recommend eating here for both lunch and dinner. The parking lot does get busy at lunch, thanks to the Service Ontario a few doors down. However, you will never have issues finding a parking spot. (6)

Thaali with goat curry, butter chicken, and garlic naan. Everything was amazing
    Sofi N.

Went here on a friend's recommendation and I was not disappointed. Got the thaali with goat curry, butter chicken, and garlic naan, and everything was delicious. The garlic naan is the best i've ever had! The tandoori chicken was amazing. Butter chicken veryyy savoury. The food took very long to come out, but I'm fine with it because the food tasted fresh and was savoury. The waiters were attentive. It's on the pricy side (paid total $50) but I would still pay it for this amazing quality food. I'd definitely travel here again from Toronto if I feel like Indian food.

Bombay Bhel is a great place for feasting, and even more so when you are hungry. With some help, I devoured the tandoori platter before I realized I had not taken a picture. I did manage a photo of the lamb, prawn and 2 chicken dishes before they were consumed!

Veggie Paradise specialises in Veg take-out (call ahead), Frozen/Dried meals and ingredients. I write "Veg" 'cause it may be even Vegan, as opposed to just Vegetarian. They also do custom vegan/vegetarian cakes/pastries. This place is run by 2 sisters and their workers. As soon as Sandra heard that I wanted something to eat, she prepped me with an Asian meal - as opposed to their other meals that are more popular amongst gwai-lo. Meal comprised of a soup (looked like Tom Yum, but not sweet/spicy), a separate plate with Rice, Bok Choy (chopped with garlic), & a portion of fermented Mustard Greens with Green Peas (this was medium spicy). The meal was tasty, yet rather homey as it wasn't overly salted. I really felt like I was eating at an aunt's house! This place is located in a rather industrial, catering to Vegans/Vegetarians (or people who just enjoy the occasional veg meal), so just call ahead if you want to order something! The sisters will even offer you a sample if it's available. :)

Well, at first I was a bit on the fence about ordering cause of the vegetarian/vegan menu, I like my meat, love meat, got to have my protein dammit! But wow! was I ever surprised and happy about following my gut and choosing to go there. You see, I'm from Vancouver, and if you know a bit about my hometown is that you know we have a very large asian population. Heck, I'd even go as far as saying it's my second language, (my first language is English and my parents are Chilean...never spoken a word of it) but I've been around it so much somehow, I feel I could get by given the chance. So, by examining the pictures from the online menu, I thought to myself; If the food is anything remotely like the pictures, it looks exactly like my fav spot in Vancouver - Congee Noodle King- also a must try if you're in east Vancouver. Just trust my absent Asian ancestry ok?! I ordered the N65. Fried Noodles with Steamed and Stir-Fried Bean Curd, and as a request asked them to make it spicy to which they happily and kindly obliged. This dish was packed with flavour. Oh em gee! Loaded with fresh crunchy veggies, the noodles were spot on: thin, velvety and a lot of them. Makes for some healthy slurps! Oh, did I mention the meat? No, I didn't, because it didn't have any, and I have never not missed something so much. The crispy fried bean curds tasted like deep fried spare ribs. My pupils dilated a bit. And that's ok cause I went into a food coma, got to heaven and wrote a review about the very first Asian restaurant I try in Toronto and I'm already planning to go back. If you give this place less than 5 stars you don't know food, Asian food or how to speak it so go on and chew on some meat! Thank you for the wonderful and friendly service as well. I shall return. How do you say that in Mandarin? Cheers! - Patricio

One thing to note also was that the employees just seemed miserable. I understand we came an hour before closing but they just seemed miserable and sort of ticked off that we were coming an hour before closing.

They are only open Monday to Friday but they do have a huge assortment of vegan and vegetarian Chinese Food. What I like is that they tell you what is vegan and what is vegetarian. 90% of the store is vegan, but anything that contains milk or dairy is pointed out on the sign. They have a huge assortment of Asian vegan and vegetarian food. I purchased a couple of frozen entrees (black pepper "beef" with rice and "chicken" tikka masala). The entrees are around $7 to $8. They are frozen and all you have to do is pop them in the microwave for 4 minutes. Very tasty. In addition, I also purchased packages of vegan shiu mai, vegan BBQ pork buns and vegan curry buns. Shiu mai was $14 for 35 small dumplings, and the buns were around $4 for 6 or so. While slightly pricier than real meat, it definitely looked and tasted like the real thing. Unfortunately, if you're vegan or vegetarian and want mock meats, it is more expensive than real meat, ironically. However, the majority of the food here is hand made, and also cheaper. Verdict: if you're looking for Chinese vegan/vegetarian food, something different than the typical stuff you get at Canadian supermarkets, then I'd definitely recommend you check it out. However, just a word of warning, some of the stuff is higher in sodium, so this should be more of a treat than an everyday thing (unless you don't care about your salt intake, then go for it).
