Enjoyed four great nights at Crone's Cobblestone Cottage. I hesitate to call it a Bed & Breakfast…read morebecause it was so much more. We had access to the entire first floor of a beautifully decorated historical home that will be 100 years old next year. The Mission Hills neighborhood was close to everything we wanted and needed -- shopping, parks, dining, beaches. But I must say my favorite part was chatting with Joan Crone during breakfast. A fascinating woman with an artist's love for all things simple and beautiful. Her art pieces on "plenty" and "small" challenged me to examine my definition of happiness. Was not expecting a spiritual connection on the trip, but happy to have found it. Thank you Joan.

Shaded by a sprawling pepper tree and sheltered by ranks of ferns, it is an oasis, complete with a porch swing and meditation garden, in an already quiet neighborhood. The Mission Hills business district is an easy ten-minute walk away, along streets with more nicely kept-up bungalows. From there, you can easily bus to Balboa Park and the Zoo in a half-hour or - with Joan's guidance - make a fun sightseeing trek down the hillside to the trolley and on the downtown and the harbor. At the end of the day, there are a number of very satisfying restaurants where you can relax and eat well before the peaceful walk home. Joan was very respectful of our privacy and our touristic initiatives. We, on the other hand, started conversations over breakfast that we would only reluctantly break off to make our way to the day's objective. Whether it involved geographical points of interest as a long-time San Diego resident, the arts and photography -- her area of training, Craftsman architecture and design or recent books we've read, there was never a dull moment. She encouraged us to look over books from her extensive library, including the charming "Little Free Library" built in the image of the Cottage and located right outside. We wholeheartedly recommend Crone's Cobblestone Cottage as a place to stay while visiting San Diego!

I had a great time! Beat my expectations a lot given the extremely low price. So the room was WAY bigger than expected for what I paid for it. I understand that it was the suite, but I wasn't expecting a large suite at all because it was so cheap. The front service was super friendly, helpful, everything. They were able to facilitate complimentary early check-in as well. In short, the service was very good and everyone at the front desk was super helpful and accomodating. Apparently there's some sketchy areas nearby if you walk to Old Town through a very weird direction (you should actually cross the street and go through the underground passage). Location is convenient, the prices are SUPER affordable, and it's just overall nice and cozy. Complimentary breakfast was also nice and easy. Had a very pleasant stay and would likely stay here again the next time I'm in this part of San Diego!

Free parking The big downer was the breakfast the protein oatmeal or yogurt....they had boiled eggs they need to have some scrambled eggs and meat. Even the motel six has a better breakfast we have stayed all over and this was a lack luster breakfast to say the least

I grew up in San Diego and have been to Old Town Historic District MANY times, but this was our first seeing the inside of the hotel. It reminded me of a hotel you see at the O.K. Corral in Tombstone, AZ. The Cosmopolitan Hotel was built in 1827. They offer Cosmo Happy Hour in their outdoor garden patio Wednesday -Saturday from 4pm-6:30pm (walk-ins only) no reservations. The garden is also available for wedding venues. The Cosmopolitan hotel has Saturday Brunch from 10am-2pm. If interested in taking an old vintage photography session, you would have to book it through Catherinesegura.com and select the size photo session of interest. Check it out! Happy Yelping :)

Dee Carey w the Cosmopolitan treats you like family. His customer care is hands down unmatched. He remembered us and we felt as though we were coming back home. We didn't notice any paranormal activity in room 6 but when staying in room 11 in past years, we had multiple occurrences throughout the night. The Cosmopolitan is a must stay when visiting San Diego.

The bed was very comfortable and had us sleeping like a baby. There's a $50/night refundable fee to protect damages along with a $20/day parking pass if you don't want to park side street. There's a restaurant/bar (closed Mon&Tues) and a heated pool that has a screen above as if it can play movies. Didn't get the chance to try either during my stay but I bet it's nice. Front desk is very polite and very welcoming, had the chance to speak to Kenneth and Julanni? Definitely would love to come back.

Parking can be a challenge, and there are about five or six parking places in the front off of Rosecrans Street, including one marked Handicapped parking place directly by the front entrance door. The rooms extend in a U-shape surrounding the pool and garden area. The hotel's restaurant, the PonyBar, is also located by the pool in the courtyard. It can get a little noisy in the hotel with a number of Bachelorette parties taking place. Try to book one of the larger rooms, which are nicer. The hotel is within walking distance to the picturesque Saint Agnes Roman Catholic Church, if you are staying over on a Sunday and want to attend Mass. They also offer a Mass on Saturday afternoon,
