Love ANKO snow! The snow is very smooth and light and does not resemble the texture of hard ice at all! The amount of drizzle is proportionate to the amount of snow you get! Favorite flavors: plain old milk, green tea, and black sesame snow. All come with a few chunks of chewy mochi, red bean, and condensed milk! So yummy!! Brick toasts are as sweet as they look, and rich in butter And lastly, I would be doing everyone a disservice if I did not mention Anko's complimentary ice tea! Tastes like some rice or barley drink to me, and I absolutely love it! Very subtle taste, but the cool, slight bitterness of it pairs the sweeter Anko snow flavors very well! Three words: FUCK THIS PLACE. This is my second time here and I am so angry. This place has really bad customer service and their dessert sucks! It's basically shaved ice on top of ice with not enough toppings or flavor. After the first couple of bites, all you taste is bits of shaven ice with little to no flavor. It makes me mad that I spend so much money on something that was crap. I would suggest you go to Okrumong instead. That place is 10x better than this place. More flavor and it's basically the same thing, literally. Now let me move onto customer service. The girl working the cashier knew I was next in line, but for some reason served another customer standing BEHIND me.. Like WHAT THE HELL! I was so mad that I walked out. I thought I'd give it another shot, but I am never coming here EVER again! read more

Pretty delicious! A modern take on bing Su that has the flavor (mango, black sesame, Oreo) all layered through the bites (compared to other bottom bing Su with just their pure ice). Really delicious flavors and taste like what you would think the flavor is! Cute atmosphere - would recommend. read more

About $5 for a small shave snow, Korean style. We got the green tea, which has red bean. I ate around the red bean since I'm not a fan of beans. There was not as much green tea flavor as I would like. The place does look nice and cozy and a good place for people to enjoy Anko and study. read more

Nice little dessert spot in KTown. It is in the same block (not plaza) as Boba Bear. I guess people come here for shaved ice but we weren't in the mood for it. We got their signature Anko Toast and it was pretty good but messy. The toast was rich and sweet that will definitely give you a sugar rush. The middle has some sort of rice cake or mochi that gives it a nice texture. My friends got the waffle and they seemed to like it. Overall, good place for your dessert fix. They also sell drinks. read more

Anko is my favorite shaved ice place. I've tried Okrumong, Sul N Beans, Homibing, amongst others. I always order their black sesame shaved ice. I've tried the grain shaved ice, but I'm not a huge fan. Anko keeps it nice and simple by just serving up creamy delicious shaved ice with layers of black sesame sauce drizzled within and on top. It comes with a small topping of azuki beans, a few sliced almonds, and 3 mochi. The mochi are a hit or a miss. Sometimes they can be amazingly chewy and lightly sweet, other times they seem a bit less fresh. The azuki beans are on the sweeter side. The shaved ice also comes with two small dishes of extra azuki beans and sesame sauce. I love adding more sesame sauce on top as I tunnel my way through the perfect sphere of shaved ice. Unlikely other shaved ice places, Anko's shaved ice is more creamy that crunchy/icy, which I definitely enjoy. The decor is also absolutely lovely. Clean and white with softy floral accents and succulents. It has a very calming effect. read more

Love coming here to fulfill a late night sweet tooth craving! I've come here several times now and tried several of their shave ice combinations and loved each one so far. My favorites would still be their green tea (with added strawberry topping) and injeolmi toast. Their "small" size shave ice could actually feed 2. They offer free iced tea (roasted rice flavor) to offset all the sweetness. Service is pretty quick as well, and everyone has been super nice so far. Decor is super cute. They always have tasteful r&b or trance music and it's never too loud or distracting if you're trying to read/study. There's enough seating and outlets for plugging in your laptop chargers. WiFi is better here compared to other cafe locations in the area. I try to get free parking on the street, otherwise they have parking in the plaza lot (ask to validate!) read more

Best taiyaki in ktown and I love their shaved ice too. It does take a little longer than other places but I don't mind the wait because it tastes better than other places. I personally like the mango shaved ice and cheese taiyaki the best. I brought my family here and the older ppl enjoyed the sweet pumpkin shaved ice and red bean taiyaki, while the younger ones liked the Oreo cheesecake shaved ice and Nutella filled taiyaki. One of my favorite dessert places in ktown. read more

One of the best Korean style shaved ice place. The milk is really soft and not too sweet. Injoelmi and black sesame are very Korean flavors. The bung-uh-ppang the fish shaped bread is delicious. I usually just like the red bean ones but even their custard and nutella ones are delicious. read more

Anko serves high-quality pat bingsoo without the long lines of Sul & Beans! Their ice is very finely-milled and deliciously creamy. This time we tried the pumpkin flavor and the previous time we tried mango. Both flavors have really fresh puree! The store itself is very open and minimal, with lots of room to sit. Their taiyaki is worth trying too! read more

After a belly-bursting dinner, we of course needed a dessert to complete the night! First went to Okrumong but from the outside we could already tell it was way too packed. So we went to Anko and had an awesome first-time experience! We ordered the Injeolmi snow and the milk snow- both were great! My personal favorite was the Injeolmi one. I loved that there was Injeolmi both on the top and in the middle so you got to taste it all throughout the snow! The ice was very soft and smooth. Also, both snows weren't that sweet which I really enjoyed. Even their red bean wasn't that sweet, and it was mixed with condensed milk! Note: their portions are really big, and the small is plenty for two people. read more

I love the atmosphere here. Not too crazy not crowded given the area it's in. It's nicely tucked on the corner of Western. Parking is plenty and the service is great. Their patbing snow is a lot creamier than other places I've been and they're more generous with the red beans and Mochi. Always get the large when I'm here and the injeolmi toast. They add honey to their toast, but they let you customize it if it's too sweet for you. Definitely cheaper than other patbing places I've been and the portions are great as well. They have a lot more choices. Anko is just great overall. Definitely a must come when in the area read more

First off, loved the great ambience!!! So clean and well designed and the whiteness of the entire store really made it bright. The menu was easy to understand and I loved the Korean on the side. Definitely, as this restaurant was marketing, Anko is the trendy dessert of the future. So I got the mixed berry snow and WOW was that good or what??!??! Lovely milk flavor that literally is milk, perfectly sweet - but not too sweet - condensed milk on the bottom, and all of the berries were fresh and tangy. Yum yum! Also, the snow was neatly decorated and played and easily edible. The coffee was okay, but it really isn't a café so what would you expect? I hope to go back for the injeolmi snow and black sesame snow - classic Korean shaved ice!!! Overall very very satisfied with my experience and definitely want to go back. Food: 10/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Service: 3/10 Value: 7/10 A small bowl of ice costs $10. The service here sucks. We were told that our dessert would be ready in 20 minutes (which is shocking by itself), but we ended up waiting 40. This, accompanied with the fact that the lady running the store (and the register) was in the back and was not available for me to complain to her, kind of makes her my mortal enemy. Yet I would still come back here every time I'm in K-town. That's how good it is. This is the best shaved ice I've ever had read more

Cute little dessert spot, well lit, and very clean. service was excellent. We got the strawberry shaved ice and it was simple and amazing. I'm normally not a fan of shaved ice but this was so flavorful and not too sweet that it was perfect! Would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a refreshing dessert! P.S. The sweet pumpkin shaved ice was way better than I thought it would be! After a long night of arguing with my sister I thought I could get some shaved ice to cheer me up with my boyfriend. So, we looked up some places around koreatown and I already knew oak and sul would be crowded so we went to a place we've never been and I'm SO happy we did! Compared to the other 2 bingsoo places the shaved ice was kinda small, but it was still good. Would definitely go again in a hot day. read more

Perfect place for sweets that you crave during the night! The shaved ice melts in your mouth along with the condensed milk topping that comes with the side. Their toppings are also the perfect match, we got the Oreo and it was absolutely delicious. Although it was quite expensive ~$10 for the shaved ice, it was worth it! read more

Bingsoo and taiyaki are just okay. But the real problem is how slow the service is. We waited almost 40 minutes to get our bingsoo. And my friends waited an additional 10 mins for theirs. It wasn't even that busy on the two times I've visited here, so I'm not sure what the bottleneck is? Additionally, when served, the worker doesn't even acknowledge the long wait and does not apologize for the inconvenience. read more

I love snow cream and at Anko they offer it more as a shave ice option so not quite as creamy. While I do prefer the melt in your mouth snow, this was a more refreshing treat. The prices are pretty high compared to other places and the portions pretty small. Service was nice, I like the location, very cute. I went with the small tropical cup and while I still loved it, I have had better at several other places. read more

The first time I came here, I was addicted to their Oreo shaved ice. We came back to Anko a few times and found out it was consistently closed. We desperately checked Anko again, and thought Anko would be gone for good... A month later, we found out they were open again! Yes, ANKO IS OPEN AGAIN! Unfortunately the Oreo shaved ice is currently not on the menu, but they do have other good choices. Coming here can be a bit confusing because they do not put descriptions of their shaved ice. You can order "Plain, Strawberry, Mint Chocolate, Grain, Mango, etc" What do these mean? What's going to be on there? Who knows... but they're probably going to be good. All the orders that I've done were crapshoots... but everything was good anyways. I really liked the grain and mint chocolate. Their shaved ice comes in a somewhat smallish medium bowl and the shaved ice is a perfect round sphere that is instagram friendly. I eventually ventured off to the shaved ice realm and bought their churros ice cream. There was a huge delay... so the staff gave me "extra" (ice cream? churros? who knows...)... but the churros ice cream was GLORRRRRRRIOUS. It definitely surpassed my sugar craving. Though the soft serve ice cream tasted a bit icier than I expected... it was still SO good. I would definitely come here again and convince my husband to try a new shaved ice flavors while i get theirchurros ice cream. :) read more

Got the strawberry shaved ice. Looked great, tasted great. Came with a side of condensed milk, which honestly u wouldn't need cuz the balance was perfect. Wouldn't come here regularly since the price is a bit on the steeper end (paid $8-9 for the shaved ice which I finished with another person), but def worth a visit. Loved the bright interior and cute decor. For parking: we parked at the Madang parking lot (where CGV n H-Mart are), got the parking ticket validated at Daiso for 2hrs, n walked a few blocks to Anko. read more

I was going to give this 4 stars.. but I decided that a business shouldn't be penalized for being in a busy location/area where parking pretty much sucks unless you get lucky w/ finding a spot, or pay for valet. The shaved ice here is so good! Layers of fruit puree, soft ice, and condensed milk in each bite. Not too sweet, not too overwhelming. I've only tried Tokyo Style Strawberry, Mango, and seasonal Pumpkin flavors. They're all delicious, but strawberry takes the win! As with all fruits, the flavors and level of sweetness really depends on the season of the fruit, so it's not surprising to find that sometimes their mangoes are not in season, or that the strawberries aren't as sweet. It doesn't hurt to ask the team what their recommendations are. Nevertheless, the effort and quality that goes into making the dessert hasn't faltered with me. read more

Really good desserts! They were beautiful, well presented and tasty. The fish shaped waffles stuffed with nutella, red bean or custard were amazing. Fresh and hot. Shaved ice here is incredible. It's so soft and the the presentation is flawless. We had the sesame flavor. I love the red beans and mochi. It makes for a nice and light dessert. Hmmm.... so I am a pretty big fan of bingsoo. I really like the flavor of the injelomi, but all the ingredients were at the top so it was a little hard to mix everything. I enjoyed the side of red beans though! That was a nice touch. The decor of the place was really nice--a little dirty with our table needing a nice wipe down, but otherwise it was chic and nice for a catch up with a friend. The texture of ice was very smooth, so pretty good for a bingsoo... I just didn't think it was much different from Sul&beans- but it's a good choice if you're in the area. read more

Jesus where to begin- The place is super clean and really cute! They only have a few options which I like, too many flavors or combinations can get really overbearing. Our service was wonderful, the man who helped us was patient and sweet while waiting for us to decide what we wanted. He wasnt bothered or hesitant to bring me two small paper cups to spoon our binsu in, or when my friend asked for an extra spoon. They are super attentive and the lady who was behind the scene was quiet cute too! Yes, it takes a minute to make (maybe 5-15 minutes?) each order is fresh, beautifully presented, and perfect all together. The shaved ice was so smooth and fluffy I couldn't get enough! The toppings are not overly sweet or overpowering in any way. I swear, If I ever step foot in LA again in my life, I hope they are still around cause it's the first place I'm going to after my flight lands! The people here value quality over quantity and take the time necessary to make something perfect and I seriously appreciate that! Well done, you have swooned me! read more

I ordered the berry mix snow, and the snow itself had just the right amount of creaminess because of the milk. The red beans on the side were also very good, but the berries were very sour. I also got the chocolate banana waffle which was super good! I would definitely come back here to try other flavors of snow and the strawberry waffle. read more

Pretty decent place on the corner of Western and 4th St serving tasty shaved ice and some natural juice. I walked over here after having a dinner near by happen to see this place while driving by. The place looks small from outside but it's not so small when you walk in there. There are plenty of seating inside and the place is very clean. I tried black sesame shaved ice and it was very tasty almost like the one that I tried from Block Head located in Sawtelle. The ice was very light and soft with the sweetness that wasn't overpowering black sesame flavor. The watermelon juice had that delightful fruit sweetness and it was very fresh. They accept any major credit card including Amex. read more

A K-town favorite dessert treat place. They've become artists at creating unique flavored snow desserts, which haven't quite caught on yet with the American public. It's become a real original experience that you can introduce to your friends who've never tried it before and take them to a world they've never even thought about. I used to eat pao-bing (shaved ice desserts) as a kid when my family would take me to Taiwan, and this is a whole different concept. Shaved snow has been around too in the last decade, but here they've become masterful with their fruit toppings and mixture of Asian flavors that hits that spot you never knew you had a craving for. Large variety of different flavors and also assortment of coffee drinks and smoothies, it's hard to choose what you want. Very comfortable inside and free wifi, parking is $1 with validation. Highly recommend! read more

Black sesame ice is so good. Super fragrant. Packaged well. Phoned in my order but will call even earlier next time since they are made with such care it took longer than quoted. Strawberry is good too but black sesame is my favorite. Maybe try mango next visit :) read more

They're delicious on their own, but the sauces that come with them make them even better. No matter how busy Community Goods gets, I always find myself coming back whenever I'm in the area. What bothered me was how poorly the crowd was being managed and, more importantly, how unnecessarily rude one of the staff members was. The shop itself is VERY small, yet when we finally reached the entrance, there was nobody managing the door, explaining the capacity limit, or telling customers when they were allowed to enter. Naturally, when it appeared to be our turn, I walked inside with my sister behind me. As soon as I entered, a male employee who was working across the counter asked me, "Are you with the group in front of you?" I said no, and he very rudely told me that I needed to go back outside. I don't know what his actual position was, but he appeared to possibly be a manager or someone in charge because he was constantly moving around the shop and handling different things. My issue was: how exactly was I supposed to know I wasn't allowed inside yet? This was my first time here. There was no employee stationed at the entrance, no one directing the line, and nobody explaining that customers needed to wait for permission before entering. I had absolutely no problem going back outside and waiting longer. What I DID have a problem with was being spoken to like I had knowingly done something wrong when their own system was unclear. Ironically, shortly afterward, I watched that same employee go to the front and actually start managing the indoor entrance, asking groups how many people they had and telling people when they could enter. Exactly what should have been happening in the first place. Had someone been doing that when we reached the door, the entire interaction could have been avoided. Once we finally reached the register, the cashier was actually incredibly sweet and kind. She was probably the best part of the customer service experience, and I genuinely appreciated her. We ordered two matcha Einspanners and two coffee Einspanners. The drinks also came out quickly, which I appreciated after the long wait. Then, while leaving, there was another employee stationed near the entrance. My sister and I were each carrying drinks, so both of our hands were completely full. The employee appeared distracted and didn't offer any assistance with the door, so I literally had to maneuver it open while trying not to spill our expensive drinks. Is opening the door technically required? No. But when you're stationed right there and see customers struggling with their hands full, it would have been a small gesture of basic hospitality. As for the actual drinks: they were genuinely good. I preferred the matcha over the coffee, and I can understand why people like them. But when I look at the experience as a WHOLE; the price, tiny drink size, extremely long line, limited space/seating, parking situation, crowd management, and customer service; I simply cannot justify coming back. You're essentially spending close to the price of a meal on a small drink that can be finished in a few minutes, after potentially waiting an hour, only to receive an attitude from staff because you didn't understand a system that nobody explained to you. If a business knows it regularly draws crowds this large while operating out of such a small space, there should be a better system in place. Have someone consistently managing the entrance. Clearly communicate when customers can enter. Develop a better queue system. Most importantly, don't make customers feel stupid or unwelcome for not understanding rules that were never communicated to them. The drinks may be good, but good drinks alone don't make a good café experience. There are far too many cafés in West Hollywood and LA with great coffee and matcha where I don't have to wait an hour, spend nearly $10 on a tiny drink, struggle with parking, AND deal with rude service. For me, Community Goods was absolutely not worth the hype or the wait. One rude interaction within seconds of walking through the door completely set the tone for what should have been an enjoyable first visit. Great drinks. Sweet cashier. Terrible first impression and poorly managed customer experience. I won't be waiting in that line again.

So far so good! I came here for the first time this past weekend with my friend and we are total FANS of this place. The shaved ice here is SOOO good. the ice is shaved liked powder and just melts in your mouth ~~ it reminds me of being in korea ^.^ the ones ive tried so far are the following: #1-- original, milk and red bean--- I like this one because it is not too sweet and had enough flavor to enjoy every bite. #2--( this is actually number 2 on the menu). Im not sure what this flavor is called but it tasted like rice powder. and this one is my favorite. Its similiar to that one korea rice cake with the light brown powder over it. ( very similiar to misu kalu flavor) #4-- ( this is number 4 on the menu) the macha green tea. this one wasnt so bad. Walk by this place and was waved in by one of the waitress. Since it seem really invited, we decided to try it out. We are the mixed berry and the peanut one. The place looks very bright and clean. We ordered for take out and she packed in a cooler bag which was really cool. I had the walnut one with the rice cake bits. She told me that like shave ice but not.. I was not sure what she meant until I ate it. And she was right.... It taste like ice but it was creamy and it doesn't melt as fast. Friendly staff ! Got a pleasant surprise of more gooey sweet red bean and almonds that were hiding in the middle of the bingsoo. The whole thing looked bigger than expected but was perfect to share among two. This was the perfect place for a light dessert. A friend who saw my IG story raved about this place and told me she dies for the sweet pumpkin one so I guess that gives me a good excuse to come back :) Overall, Anko is a great place to get bingsu and taiyaki. Anko is a hidden gem in ktown, serving as a nice spot to get some work done or chat with friends! I would say this place is underrated in terms of matcha. I have not heard much about this place, but I'm glad I have found it! I tried the strawberry matcha, and it was so delicious. The matcha flavor paired nicely with the strawberry, and I can tell that the matcha that they use is high quality. The only downside is that parking can be difficult to find. Shaved ice that is just right for summertime! I ordered the black sesame shaved ice, and as other reviewers mentioned, the presentation is on point. I like this flavor because it isn't too sweet, but refreshing (bonus points for providing extra anko and condensed milk in little cups). It's a very sizable portion and to be honest, I barely finished mine, and worth the price ($8). My favorite of the 2 was the Strawberry Matcha Kream Spanner. The sweetness was just right. The ube was good but it was very sweet, like cake sweet. There was 1 person working, but the drinks came out super quick. Order through the kiosk and pick up the order when it's ready. Seats available both inside and outside the cafe. They also provide 3 hour parking validation.

The cakes look delicate and aesthetically pleasing. The folks here are very kind and friendly as well. Since I was getting some cake, I probably should've got something less sweeter to drink, but I couldn't resist getting the soosoo hojicha. Since I love corn, haha, and the description was very corn heavy. I got a slice of the mugwort injeolmi. I've never had it before, but it just looks so interesting. Fortunately and unsurprisingly, it was just as tasty as it was pleasing to the eye. I was by myself so I was able to find a small table pretty quickly but seating to get tight here. I think a lot of the business is takeout. It was also in the late afternoon during the weekday so it was probably one of their slower times. Overall, just a great place for a tree and some caffeinated beverages. Would love to come back and try some other cakes or bring some other people.

The pandan sauce definitely helped make it easier to eat. I probably wouldn't eat the bread by itself though because it was super hard and didn't really have much flavor. I wasn't sure what to expect from the toast, but it wasn't quite what I expected. I originally wanted to try the mango sticky rice flavored shaved ice because it looked really good in the photos, but unfortunately they didn't have it today. I'd come back to try their shaved ice when mango is in season again!

I've been to the Concerto Bakery in City Market and the original Concerto Restaurant before it closed, but this was my first time visiting this location. I stopped by because they were running a promotion through August 6: a signature latte or matcha with a salt bread for just $6 (no tax). My friend and I ordered one signature latte and one matcha, and both drinks came out in about 5 minutes. There are a handful of seats inside, along with a few tables right outside if you want to enjoy your drink there. The matcha was surprisingly good. Personally, I'd still rank Rok and Stagger above Concerto for matcha, but I'd say Concerto serves one of the better matchas in Koreatown compared to most other cafés I've tried. The real star, though, is the salt bread (pro tip: ask for it toasted - or toast it for 3 mins in the air fryer before eating). I've tried salt bread from over 10 bakeries across Koreatown and Little Tokyo, and Concerto is still my favorite. I haven't had the chance to try the famous Ordis salt bread yet, but among the places I've been, this one stands out for its buttery flavor, crisp exterior, and soft, fluffy interior. Of course, if you've had salt bread in Korea--places like Jayeondo or bakeries around Jongno--you'll find even more exceptional versions there. Service (10/10): Both the cashier and barista were incredibly friendly. They even let my friend charge her phone after it died, which was a thoughtful gesture that really stood out. Overall: If you're in the area, I'd definitely recommend stopping by--especially while the $6 drink + salt bread promotion is still available. There was also an illustration of AI cats and dogs holding Onescape mugs; cats seem to be less favored lol. On one of their menus, I saw they had a corn latte so this convinced me to get it. While the service was quick, the drink fell short of my expectations. The corn flavor was a bit lacking in the drink. Overall, I'd probably be interested in coming back to try their nutty twist since it's a signature item. WiFi is also available so it makes for a decent place to get work done. American Express is accepted here.
