Unfortunately, Community Goods is worth the hype and I will be coming back and waiting in line haha I went for the first time a few weeks ago on a Saturday morning around 9:30am and waited 1.5 hours. The line is not for the faint of heart. I tried their matcha einspanner, breakfast sliders, and pistachio toast and all three were AMAZING. - Matcha Einspanner: One of the best matchas I've ever had! The matcha is so well balanced - you can actually taste the matcha, not too sweet, and creamy too. They also sprinkle sea salt on top which helps enhance the matcha flavor. My only complaint is that I wish the cup was bigger. - Breakfast Sliders: I wasn't expecting much from the sliders, but everyone always hypes up their slides, so I knew I had to give it a try. I was not disappointed! The egg is so fluffy and the sauces that come with it are so delicious, especially their hot sauced. I added bacon and avocado too and it was great. - Pistachio Toast: I feel like their pistachio toast is not talked about enough. It was so yummy and satisfying that I wish I could get another one. The toast is hearty and the pistachio spread with sea salt, olive oil, and olive oil is the perfect balance of sweet and savory. I'm still thinking about their toast. Although it is quite pricey, I think the taste and quality justify the price. The interior is small and there's about 6 tables outside which is pretty crowded so you might have to take it elsewhere to enjoy. Parking is easy with metered street parking or free parking in the neighborhoods. read more

Let's be real, this is the most LA place to line up for. Came on a weekday morning and the line was about 25 minutes. Food: The egg sliders were tasty and a bit sweet. Nothing complex about it. Drink: the Matcha was good but not worth waiting in line for. Overall, what can I say that someone else hasn't already said about this place? It's good, so try it at least once and see if you're willing to wait on a line again. Side note: when leaving, someone drove by, rolled down their window and yelled "go get jobs" to everyone waiting in line. The whole crowed laughed and I was just stuffing my face with food. P.S. I took two stars off because the wait makes it not worth it but the overnight oats and iced hojicha einspanner does. I waited an hour for everything. The line was full of restless people and It was overwhelming. It was hot outside. It's pricey also. But my food was delicious. I recommend but beware you need to make it an event instead of a stop. The staff was friendly despite the amount of people. Waiting in line at community goods is the equivalent of dining at a restaurant start to finish. That includes finding somewhere to park. So if you have a day off work and have time to kill but also want to get hard earned coffee come here It's pretty good but make your wait worth it and get the oats. read more

My friend and I arrived at 8:45am on a Saturday and there line wrapped around the block. Street parking was easy enough across thw street with a paid meter. We waited in line for almost 2 hours. The interior of the store is very cramped. Interestingly enough, they have random goods for sale like pimple patches and chili. Its hard to browse though while lining. When we got to the front, I got distracted with their pastry display. We ordered a ham and cheese danish, breakfast sliders, a matcha latte, a vanilla bean latte, and an einspanner latte. Then we shuffled to the side to wait. The wait wasn't too long but it was awkward to wait and be blocking the pick up counter lol. The sliders are pretty tasty but definitely not worth the price at all. The sauce it comes with is pretty good, sweet and spicy. The ham and cheese danish was pretty standard. I heard a girl say their matcha changed her life but sadly it did not change mine. It was very milky. The vanilla bean latte and einspanner were also just okay. Would I come back? Nah. I got the matcha einspanner and a matcha oat latte to capitalize on my 45 minute wait(these drinks are actually so tiny though). With that said the matcha einspanner was so good. The maldon salt really takes it to the next level so much so that I have started adding salt to my matcha as well. The matcha isn't necessarily really strong but still really balanced (again the salt brings it out so much). I thought the matcha oat was a bit overpowered by the milk (maybe because there was no salt for this one rip ). In a nutshell, it does live up to the hype but I would not have this as my go to. I arrived at around 2:30pm-3pm on a Saturday and sure enough, there was a long queue out the door the stretched to the intersection on Melrose. I didn't think the wait was too bad; it was about 30-40 mins. to order. But also, it only took about 3-5 mins. after ordering to receive my drink, a Matcha Einspanner, which is essentially a matcha latte with an added thick, whipped cream. As I mentioned earlier, I am not an aficionado of matcha (I'm not a big fan of earthy, grassy flavors) so I prefer a sweeter, milkier version of any matcha drink I have and Community Goods really hit the mark with this one. Pleasant and not overwhelming matcha taste with the sweet, luscious cream and a pinch of salt for a bit of extra delight. Definitely my favorite matcha drink I would get over and over again in my rotation! It's a small, cozy interior with no seating for consumption of your drinks and food, but outside the building, you can find a few tables and benches to enjoy your drinks! Line does get shorter from around 4pm so if you want to wait a little less, I would recommend arriving around that time! No seating inside, but they have outdoor seating on the side! More of a grab and go place though. They use Rocky's Matcha and that's what most come here for! We're usually able to find a spot in some of the side streets later into the day on weekends, but sometimes I also park further and walk up and down the shops, stopping by here for drinks. I had heard good things from my family about this place. We had tried to go last Saturday which was Coachella's first weekend assuming the lines might be shorter. We were SO wrong. So this weekend we went early and STILL waited an hour for breakfast sandwiches. Was it worth it. Yes and no. We got three breakfast "sliders" with bacon, an Americano and a cold brew. The sliders come four to an order on Hawaiian bread and they are VERY good. Fluffy egg, crisp bacon & cheese and a griddled bun. They come with two sauces: A hot sauce that was a bit too sweet for my taste but still good. And a green sauce that reminded me of Béarnaise sauce that I initially didn't like but definitely grew on me. The coffee is good. Will we go again? Probably not but it's worth trying. Go early and be prepared to wait and pay a premium price. ($12 + 2 for bacon) There's a few outdoor tables, they were bumping some decent music inside and once we ordered the sliders were ready in minutes. The hype is definitely back. I rarely come to Community Goods since it's a lengthy drive from me but I came with a friend today and we decided to make the stop. They have someone portion out the milk and matcha so the process can go back faster. I ordered the matcha einspanner latte with whole milk and wow. It's whole milk, cream top, then the matcha on top spinkled with some sea salt and matcha powder. Everything was combined perfectly and there was a good sweetness to the matcha. This is definitely worth the try even if you don't like matcha because there was no grassy taste to this drink. I had an alright experience, but it did feel rushed when you are inside. My friend also had a bad interaction with her server, who made her feel like he was being impatient with her. They give you a ringer when you order food, and I waited about 15 minutes, which felt reasonable for both a drink and food. I ordered matcha einspanner and the viral breakfast sliders. I could instantly taste the high quality of the Rocky's matcha. It initially has a bitter bite that quickly dissipates and makes you want another sip. The breakfast sliders were also surprisingly delicious. I added avocado, which added extra freshness. The egg was light and fluffy, tasted like real eggs, and did not leave a lingering eggy aftertaste. I honestly wouldn't know how to recreate that at home. The Hawaiian buns paired well with the sauce that was sweet, spicy, and tangy flavors and really elevated the sliders. While I was happy with my order, I am not sure I would wait in a long line, since I think it would raise my expectations. I never gave a review here and I've been here 3x now. Yes there literally is a line out the door for a reason. I tried to hate on the hype but damn the matcha is so good and smooth here. Like you're getting that Japanese good matcha. Of course I make matcha at home but I sometimes like TREATING MYSELF OUT. The sliders are also good and flavorful. They're a bit spicy bc of the sauce and the bacon is thick and juicy. It was pricey bc I added bacon and avocado but I don't regret it. The Hawaiian rolls too are delish. It's a good sandwich there's no denying that. I appreciate that they don't charge for the different type of milk you want but they do charge for sweetener which is fine. I should be paying for sweetener bc it's not always good for me JK. The honey is worth it. My cashier recommended vanilla bean and now I regret not trying it but I will next time! Be prepared for a line outside and inside. Even when it's raining. Although there was no line outside when I went on Christmas Eve in the rain! read more
