    Overnight oats
    Edith B.

I took two stars off because the wait makes it not worth it but the overnight oats and iced hojicha einspanner does. I waited an hour for everything. The line was full of restless people and It was overwhelming. It was hot outside. It's pricey also. But my food was delicious. I recommend but beware you need to make it an event instead of a stop. The staff was friendly despite the amount of people. Waiting in line at community goods is the equivalent of dining at a restaurant start to finish. That includes finding somewhere to park. So if you have a day off work and have time to kill but also want to get hard earned coffee come here It's pretty good but make your wait worth it and get the oats.

3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 stars. I was part of that hive group who thought there wouldn't be a line here during Coachella. My friend and I arrived at 8:45am on a Saturday and there line wrapped around the block. Street parking was easy enough across thw street with a paid meter. We waited in line for almost 2 hours. The interior of the store is very cramped. Interestingly enough, they have random goods for sale like pimple patches and chili. Its hard to browse though while lining. When we got to the front, I got distracted with their pastry display. We ordered a ham and cheese danish, breakfast sliders, a matcha latte, a vanilla bean latte, and an einspanner latte. Then we shuffled to the side to wait. The wait wasn't too long but it was awkward to wait and be blocking the pick up counter lol. The sliders are pretty tasty but definitely not worth the price at all. The sauce it comes with is pretty good, sweet and spicy. The ham and cheese danish was pretty standard. I heard a girl say their matcha changed her life but sadly it did not change mine. It was very milky. The vanilla bean latte and einspanner were also just okay. Would I come back? Nah. Not worth the wait and in the competitive coffee shop era in LA, there are just so many out there that are just as good and without the wait and hefty price tag.

I got the matcha einspanner and a matcha oat latte to capitalize on my 45 minute wait(these drinks are actually so tiny though). With that said the matcha einspanner was so good. The maldon salt really takes it to the next level so much so that I have started adding salt to my matcha as well. The matcha isn't necessarily really strong but still really balanced (again the salt brings it out so much). I thought the matcha oat was a bit overpowered by the milk (maybe because there was no salt for this one rip ). In a nutshell, it does live up to the hype but I would not have this as my go to. Hoping to try the food though!

If you've ever heard of this place, then you also know that there's always a very long line for getting matcha here. I, personally, am not really a big matcha person so I was skeptical on how good it could really be BUT yes, it is THAT good. I first had Community Goods and their matcha at Eeeeeatscon as a vendor, and thought it was good there so I wanted to see how the brick & mortar location stacked up to it. I arrived at around 2:30pm-3pm on a Saturday and sure enough, there was a long queue out the door the stretched to the intersection on Melrose. I didn't think the wait was too bad; it was about 30-40 mins. to order. But also, it only took about 3-5 mins. after ordering to receive my drink, a Matcha Einspanner, which is essentially a matcha latte with an added thick, whipped cream. As I mentioned earlier, I am not an aficionado of matcha (I'm not a big fan of earthy, grassy flavors) so I prefer a sweeter, milkier version of any matcha drink I have and Community Goods really hit the mark with this one. Pleasant and not overwhelming matcha taste with the sweet, luscious cream and a pinch of salt for a bit of extra delight. Definitely my favorite matcha drink I would get over and over again in my rotation! It's a small, cozy interior with no seating for consumption of your drinks and food, but outside the building, you can find a few tables and benches to enjoy your drinks! Line does get shorter from around 4pm so if you want to wait a little less, I would recommend arriving around that time! I definitely want to come back earlier in the day to try their Breakfast Sliders!

OVERALL : This place has become THE spot for matcha in LA, and I can see why the lines are always long! They have a fairly simple menu with coffee / matcha / hojicha and some foods served during limited hours. Despite the long lines, things move pretty quickly and the drinks came out quick after ordering. Service was fast and friendly despite the line. I waiting maybe 30ish mins? No seating inside, but they have outdoor seating on the side! More of a grab and go place though. They use Rocky's Matcha and that's what most come here for! PARKING : Located in LA, so street parking as usual for this area! We're usually able to find a spot in some of the side streets later into the day on weekends, but sometimes I also park further and walk up and down the shops, stopping by here for drinks. FOOD/DRINKS : Matcha Einspanner - The cream on top was lightly sweet and paired well with the matcha. They had a matcha shaker jar if you wanted to top off with more matcha powder, but it already came with some sprinked on top of the foam. The matcha itself was smooth -- not too earthy or bitter. Perfect sweetness. Yum! Matcha Latte - I added maple syrup for an extra cost and kept the drink as whole milk by default. Well balanced cup of matcha -- not too milky and a smooth matcha taste. Maple syrup didn't overpower the drink

I have yet to find matcha that tops community goods...i had my doubts at first but this is now the only matcha that i will wait in a long line for. the matcha einspanner is perfection and so consistently good everytime. the cream top, matcha flavor, and milk mesh so well together (unlike many matcha einspanners i've tried) and the sprinkle of salt and matcha powder on the top really ties it all together. the sweetness level is also perfect. i would also recommed giving the hojicha einspanner a shot!! it was a little sweeter than the matcha einspanner but so delicious. parking is also pretty easy; there is plenty of street parking in the adjacent neighborhood. just expect there to be a decently long line every time you go, especially if its on the weekend.

this is the lavender Matcha, the Matcha with cold foam, and the the coffee einspanner and vanilla coffee! We pretty much tried it all!
    Vartuhi O.

overall, I would say this place is definitely worth a try, especially if you're into the Matcha craze lately! I know that everyone is raving about their Matcha, which is still good, but the coffee einspanner was insane!! you have to try it! it even had bits of sea salt on top. I'm drooling writing this review.

I waited around 45 minutes and i got there at 9. It was actually worth the hype. Would i come back? Maybe. The matcha was great but i might be able to find something similar somewhere else but the sliders were surprisingly really great.

I've been here twice and both experiences were great. Yes, the lines are long (I waited 1.5 hours on Coachella Sunday morning) but the food and drinks are delicious. Their matcha Einspanner hits the spot. It's not a place I'd go out of my way for, but if you've never gone I recommend going once just so you can say you've been.

I happened to be in the area for work so I decided to finally stop by and see what the hype was. There's street parking and I didn't have trouble but it was also a Wednesday early afternoon so I don't know how it is during peak times. Wait wasn't too bad since it was a prob an off time, maybe 15 min? I got the matcha einspanner which I think is off menu and it was good. But not spectacular and I'm still struggling to understand the hype. I hear the sliders are good but only fresh and I had already eaten lunch. There are so many good matcha spots closer to me so I don't see myself coming back here. Don't get me it's good but not life changing and I def think it's way overhyped. Come here if it's convenient for you but to me I wouldn't wait more than 10 min in line for this.

My bestie and I wanted to try a new spot and arrived here Tuesday morning. There was already a long line so we thought it must be good. It was about a 45 minute wait once we reached the front to order. It's a tiny place inside and there are some tables outside on the side to sit at if you're lucky to snag one. We got the matcha einspanner as that's what's most popular along with the breakfast sliders with bacon. I cannot fathom why anyone would wait in such a long line and not order food. To each their own I suppose. The matcha drink was okay. It was good after it's well mixed, but not good enough to wait that long for. The sliders were definitely tasty and I loved whatever the green sauce it came with. All in all, it's a place to know I've tried but not one I'd come back to.

Best knows for Justin and Hailey Bieber frequenting, community goods did not disappoint. So here's the take: Line: long but went fairly quick. This will not be your in and out experience. Although once you order they are fast. Matcha: Yummy but on the sweeter side. I like my matcha more earthy, but maybe I have to order differently next time. Latte and cappuccino : Rave reviews! Sandwiches: we got tuna and a pistachio toast and both were fresh, and amazing! There's no sitting room so it's definitely order and go. But the tiny shop is cleanly, airy, and cute! Def must try...especially if the line is short.

It's good, but I personally would not come again. Interior was comfy, sliders were ready ~10 min after we ordered. Workers were friendly! Waited an hour for: - Matcha latte - yum! - Breakfast sliders - I fear I make this better myself, with much more flavor. I didn't enjoy the sweet sauce on it, and overall it was underwhelming. The eggs were cooked nicely though. - banana bread - average, get it toasted! the butter was interesting. passion fruit?
