I use to come here for shaved ice and shaved ice only. However I came yesterday and they no longer sell shaved ice. This was extremely disappointing, especially since it was a hot summer day. We were already here so we ended up getting drinks. Drinks were fine but I don't think I'd come back just for drinks or taiyaki. Also, the drinks took 30 minutes. I have never waited this long for a drink my entire life. While I understand there may be things behind the scene a customer doesn't see, I still just couldn't fathom the wait. No apology or explanation was given. This experience just wasn't great. I'm sad to say I will no longer come back. read more

The hojicha bing soo was very yummy. It had a lovely shaved ice texture (more like shaved snow) and refreshing tea flavor. It is about 50/50 shave ice and soft serve. read more

drinks: i had the cream matcha (5/5) super delish & very creamy, the cream was def the star & the matcha flavor was not super strong but still v good!! my friend had the matcha strawberry, and since they use fresh strawberries, it was a little sour. the sweetness didn't come from the strawberries like most strawb matchas, but it still complimented the drink. i personally, wouldn't get the strawb matcha again, but i rly liked the creamy matcha!! parking: it seems like it's mainly street parking available, i parked in the neighborhood service: it was super packed on sunday afternoon, so it took a while for our drinks to come out (20+ min) BUT they always walk out and personally hand u your drinks, which is very nice!! there's wifi, seats, and outlets available, but on the weekend afternoon it was all full, if you come earlier or later in the day it should be open!! read more

Young man takes my order of two shaved ice and after I pay with credit card, says it will be at least 20 minutes wait. I said- oh I wish you told me that beforehand. He said- I can still cancel the order. Okay. He was nice enough. I keep the order and ask 25 minutes later to a stoic stoned faced gentleman- are those two brown bags the shaved ice to go? He shakes them and says- they're empty. Bro. Look I didn't come to your shop to be talked down to. Please find a different job that isn't so customer-facing. You are rude and I will never be back. It's been 30 minutes and I'm still waiting for two to-go shaved ice. Finally got it. 35 minutes later. That's pretty unacceptable. My major issue is that you weren't forthright about the wait being 35 minutes (I would have definitely canceled it), and the attitude from the stone faced employee. read more

Ambiance: Spacious, minimalistic, and clean. We had dessert here after having a family lunch at the kbbq next door in the same plaza. Service: Calming and friendly staff. Food: Mango shaved ice was refreshing, had fresh fruit, and not too sweet. Shared between three people. Brown Sugar Miso Latte is what I ordered for myself. Well-balanced flavors and not one was overpowering the other. Enjoyed this drink. I'd get this again here. read more

Dropped by Anko for a midday treat and ordered the strawberry bingsoo. It was really well done. The shaved ice was super fine and soft, almost like fresh snow, and the strawberry topping tasted bright and not overly sweet. The condensed milk was balanced, not too heavy, and the portion was just right for sharing or finishing solo if you've got a bit of a sweet tooth. Service was friendly and patient. The staff gave helpful suggestions and didn't rush us even though the shop had a steady flow of customers. Everything came out quickly and was presented nicely. The space is clean and minimal, with a relaxed feel. It's a nice place to cool off or hang out with friends over dessert. Definitely one of the better bingsoos I've had in the area, and worth the stop if you're nearby. read more

Best decision to come here after kbbq down the street!! I got the strawberry shaved ice and the taiyaki Nutella and banana and custard. All items were delicious and extraordinary. The shaved ice was light, with fresh strawberries and strawberry puree. It felt lighter than other shaved ice places I have tried. The taiyaki was fresh to cook and very scrumptious. The staff were friendly and the space was super clean. You can also get coffee and study. read more

Nice cozy cafe perfect for grabbing a dessert whether it be a drink or this fire bingsoo! Personally, I liked the bingsoos here way more than oakobing. I noticed they roast their own red beans which adds to the rich flavor of the milk bingsoo which i liked. For the mango and strawberry bingsoos, the ice is made up of mango milk ice and strawberry milk ice rather than just plain milk. That attention to detail was delightful in my mouth when I tried it. I am definitely coming back. The only downside is that I wish there were more seats-- most of them were taken by study campers :( read more

This place was amazing! We were in Korea town and wanted a sweet treat. We found this on yelp and decided to give it a try. Amazing and spectacular, it's so good that I've been here on a weekly basis. Expect a wait time since they really take their time to make you the perfect bingsoo and taiyaki. I like their fruit flavored bingsoo like strawberry compared to their hojicha flavor. Their bingsoo also has an unexpected creamy layer the more you dig into it - a pleasant surprise! For their Taiyaki, I've seemed to liked the Nutella & Banana the most but be careful when you bite into it as the filling can spill on your clothes. Valet is $3-4 cash (I can't quite remember) but you can Venmo which will be $1 more. There is street parking if you can find it, but this is K-Town after all. read more

Stopped by for dessert! Got the black sesame shaved ice. It came topped with red bean and mochi pieces with some extra black sesame in condensed milk. It actually took a while to get, but worth it. The shaved ice was very fine with condensed milk, almonds and black sesame interspersed. Nice and delicately sweet. We came close to closing time 10p and still quite a bit of people hanging out with their desserts. read more

So glad they are offering shaved ice (bingsoo) again! Stopped by on a Friday early afternoon and the place was empty. We ordered the houjicha marron and it arrived with a small side of what tasted like brown sugar. The shaved ice looks different, like a bunch of sprinkles but the taste seems to be better, stronger. The houjicha flavor lasted to the last spoonful! It also hardly melted and we liked that we could add the brown sugar to our tasting and throughout eating the shaved ice. Overall we loved this flavor and can't wait to come back to try the rest! read more

Came for dessert at Anko after dinner nearby. It gets crowded and has limited seating inside. We were lucky and found street parking about a block over. Otherwise, they have Valet parking for their plaza, but I'm not sure how much that is... We beat the after-dinner dessert rush. Our group of 4 ordered 1 Black Sesame Shaved Ice and Custard Taiyaki (4 pcs) to share. Our friends also ordered tea, but hubby & I didn't. I liked the Custard Taiyaki - I think they use mochi rice flour so it has an extra chewiness. Custard flavor is a favorite of mine so I have no complaints. Taiyaki is best fresh & hot, but filling can squirt out & burn so be careful. The Black Sesame Shaved Ice was good, had slices of almonds and red bean in it. I think the Shaved Ice was sweeter than the Taiyaki. They have one unisex bathroom (key required) that was a little unkempt when they got busy (ran out of toilet paper)...but the staff were all friendly and got to it ASAP. The Taiyakis can take some time to make since it looks like they have one grill for everyone's orders. Tables can be hard to come by during rush times, so if you're lucky enough to get one, people will be eyeing and circling you like hawks when you look to be about done/finished (O_O), so just be aware of that. I would say this is good for smaller groups, not the best for big groups. read more

this has been on my list to try for a while, so i'm glad this place lives up to the hype! we went in about 30 minutes before closing and there were only like 2 tables available. We ordered the black sesame shaved ice & taiyaki (nutella & custard flavored). anko definitely has the softest bingsoo I have ever had.. there was so much flavor with every bite! their portion size is smaller than most bingsu places but the quality and taste makes up for it! compared to other bingsu places, i have always had to ask for extra toppings or condensed milk just for more flavor when we got towards the middle or bottom of the dessert. Tried to be adventurous and try something other than matcha bingsu. Don't do it! Matcha is supreme. I love matcha lattes and hojicha lattes, but this hojicha bingsu flavor gave me palette fatigue. It had a drier mouthfeel and sweeter taste that made me not want to eat a lot. I think it was dt the cream layered in the shaved snow. Still good to try if you're sharing with a group, but I just love the matcha too much ^_^ read more

Woah, Anko was so good! I think this is even better than Oakobing.. we had a total party of 3 on a Sunday night and came from a very filling meal in ktown but decided to go ahead and overstuff ourselves with desserts.. we ordered the following: Black sesame shaved ice ($12) - this was pretty good, I love that they mix the black sesame in between the shaved ice. Honorable mention to the mochi.. omg. I have never tasted such good mochi in my life.. especially at shaved ice places. Just wow! Mango shaved ice ($12) - I thought this was a lot better than the black sesame even though it is not mango season right now. The aesthetics of it was also beautifully presented and each bite was so smooth with mango flavor Hot cappuccino ($4.5) - nice and warm, no complaints Taiyaki to go ($10) - 4 pieces and you get two flavor choices of either, banana & nutella, custard, cheese, and red bean Overall, soo good. I would probably come back here again but with inflation it really doubled in price! We stayed there for a bit and played some cards inside (plenty of seats/very spacious by the way!) and it got a lot more crowded as the night progressed. read more

My friend and I were on a hunt for good bingsoo and this shaved ice spot didn't disappoint. FYI - they're busy on weekends! So the cashier will ask you if you're willing to wait 20 mins for it. We split the MANGO BINGSOO for $12 (decent deal) and it was definitely worth the wait. The mango syrup was sweet and yummy. The SHAVED ICE was perfectly shaved so fine that it was almost buttery consistency and melts perfectly unlike other places where it isn't so finely shaved. Mango pieces were lacking a bit and wasn't as sweet as I'd have liked from other spots. The only downsides were: 1) the tiny amount of super watered down condensed milk they give you -- it doesn't even taste like it :( 2) the container it's given in, it's tall more than wide so all the drizzle from the syrup so you have to maneuver your way to make sure you're eating flavored ice. There are plenty of small tables for small and larger groups in this casual low key place. If you're interested in people watching they have high tables along side the windows. Overall, parking can be difficult but at least there's street parking if you're willing to walk a bit. Restrooms are smelly bc they're shared male/female stalls in one, so the males always stink it up. Would be nice if they had strong air fresheners or something to make it less unpleasant. read more

parking: valet parking lot is $3 cash, $4 for online payment (zelle or venmo, i forgot which payment service they used). interior: cute minimal vibes. good amount of seating, great place to catch up with friends. we went around 2pm on a saturday & it was not busy at all. service: great customer service. the employee was patient with us because it was my first time & we were indecisive. our orders came out in a timely manner. we got the mango bingsoo & it was a good size for 2, especially if you both get drinks too. it was refreshing, & not too sweet - the ultimate compliment for asian desserts! drinks: i got the iced americano & my friend got the strawberry matcha. both very good. i would come back - great place to socialize & catch up in intimate groups. :) read more

By far my favorite place to get taiyaki! I almost always stop by here after dinner when I am in ktown. Nutella banana taiyaki is my go-to but my bf gets the custard one; both very good! We also get bingsoo to share sometimes if we are craving something cold/icey. Parking is valet only but there is street parking available. Friendly service but can be slow during weekend nights. The rating only reflects the coffee here. Food: -Hot latte ($5) with almond milk (+$0.50) = $5.50 -Cortado ($4.50) with almond milk (+$0.50) = $5 With +$1 upcharge for alt milk on top of already high base prices being the norm these days, the 50 cent upcharge here was a pleasant perk and one of the reasons we picked this cafe to try out over the others. Since the latte was solid, and the only difference between the two drinks is the amount of milk, I was surprised to find the cortado was an absolute miss. The espresso was extremely sour and unpleasant. I'm not sure what happened here, but this was a bummer. They also sell boong-uh-bbang 4 for $12. Service: -Quick, to the point Ambiance: It's a beautiful, minimalistic cafe with light wooden furniture and green plants throughout the shop. Plenty of seating, outlets, and free WiFi. We went on a Thurs morning around 9am and there was one other customer by the time we left around 11:30am. The music is low volume and conducive to studying/working. You have to ask for a key if you need to use the restroom. I may want to try this place out again due to its fair prices and great atmosphere; hopefully, the cortado was an anomaly. read more

I've been to this place a few times, but after today, I won't be coming back. I ordered Taiyaki and was told it would take about 25 minutes, so I waited patiently outside. When I returned after the time they gave me, I noticed several people who arrived after me were already getting their orders. I went inside to check, only to find that they hadn't even started making mine yet. The woman who seems to be the owner was visibly annoyed while taking orders. The place has a bit of an echo, so it was hard to hear her clearly, and when I asked her to repeat something, she got irritated. Her attitude was unnecessarily rude. It's not the first time I've felt this kind of cold, dismissive service here. I've also seen her skip over people who are waiting, just to serve customers she seems to know. In the end, it took more than 40 minutes to get my order. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed. I came here hoping to enjoy a simple treat, but instead I walked away with a bad experience. Friendly service goes a long way--unfortunately, this place consistently falls short. read more

I've seen Anko on social media and wanted to try. The place has that minimalist aesthetic. It was a quiet afternoon and the store was not busy. As far as I could tell there were at least 3 workers there. We ordered the taiyaki- it was freshly made, but it took a long time (even though they were not busy). Came by after eating KBBQ in the same lot- WOO loved that it was so nicely all there! Food: -I...LOVEEEEE... RED BEAN. And I loveeee these delicious little fish baked goods. That is all. 5 stars, SO good. SO good when warm- will be back!! Wish I ordered a pack togo! Ambiance: -Very popular and so it was actually FULLY packed when we got there. It also gets quite quite loud, it might just be the layout of the space. We were a bit group too so it was really overwhelming for introvert me, though we still enjoyed it (aka it was worth it!) I just might opt for a to-go next time Service: -They were really mindful to let us know prep time which I appreciated. Ex: "Oh that'll be about 25 minutes / 45 minutes. Do you still want to order it" and that was helpful! Price: -nothing is cheaaap anymore, but I think for the amount of little fish baked red beans, I found it quite worth it! Overall: -I LOVED! Me and my bf came here on 10/7 to get our bingsu on. It was busy when we came so it was loud to hear the staff take our order. We ordered the black sesame bingsu to share. Our order took awhile to make since they were busy fulfilling a huge order before us. They brought our bingsu to the table and pics were pretty deceptive; it was a lot bigger than I expected. One order was perfect to share for 2. We liked how soft and powdery the ice was and the condensed milk that came with it. There's a layer of red bean in the middle which was also a nice surprise. Everything was balanced and not overpowering with each other. We enjoyed our dessert very much! Finding parking was a hassle for us but we didn't see that there's on-site valet parking. I don't see myself coming back to Anko since I'm not in ktown often, but it was nice to try and see why it's so popular. read more

Looking for a shaved ice spot I stumbled across Anko. I ordered the mango and strawberry shaved ice along with the taiyaki. You can get 4 taiyaki and pick 2 different fillings; nutella & banana and custard is the fillings I went with and the custard was SOO good !! I'm picky about custard and it was perfectly sweet and didn't taste artificial. I definitely would go back again to try their drinks but I need that mango shaved ice, in between there was layers of chopped mango pieces and sweet cream !! read more

The Vienna Latte is so visually stunning, the layers of white milk, brown espresso, thick white cream, brown cocoa powder and Biscoff layered on top of each other against the dark green logo was so aesthetic. Having a sip before mixing the Vienna latter was incredible, the sweet cream followed with the nutty strong espresso flavour then getting a refreshing splash of milk made a great combo with the Biscoff. I actually liked the drink less after its all mixed because it was too creamy for my taste. (I normally like my coffee black) My hojicha latte was great, but it was also too milky for me. So I went up and asked if it would taste good dirty, with an espresso shot in it, and the barista said yes. I ordered an espresso shot and instead of charging me full price, they only charged me the add on espresso shot for the drink! ($1.50 instead of $4) It was very kind of them since it was absolutely my mistake for not ordering the right drink in the first place. The shot added much depth and flavour to the hojicha latte I was craving. Thanks for the wonderful service. I'm definitely coming back to try their other specialty drinks.

The drinks do lean on the sweeter side, which is kind of a dilemma for me because the cream is SO good, but it also takes away from the matcha a little. The flavor was definitely there, but it also had that same strange grainy aftertaste, except it was way worse than the Double Matcha. It was supperrr sweet and became a bit overwhelming after a few sips. If you have a serious sweet tooth, you might love it, but I'd recommend adjusting the sweetness. Wish I read some of the reviews prior to ordering... Overall, I don't think Stagger has the best matcha or hochija but definitely is a cute spot for small groups of 2-4 to grab a drink and hang out. The shaved ice here is SOOO good. the ice is shaved liked powder and just melts in your mouth ~~ it reminds me of being in korea ^.^ the ones ive tried so far are the following: #1-- original, milk and red bean--- I like this one because it is not too sweet and had enough flavor to enjoy every bite. #2--( this is actually number 2 on the menu). Im not sure what this flavor is called but it tasted like rice powder. and this one is my favorite. Its similiar to that one korea rice cake with the light brown powder over it. ( very similiar to misu kalu flavor) #4-- ( this is number 4 on the menu) the macha green tea. this one wasnt so bad. It tasted like green tea ice cream but not so heavy and creamy like ice cream. with each order they serve a little serving of extra red bean with a swirl of condensed milk over it which is really nice :) i would definately come here again! read more

I recently visited Anko in Koreatown, and it instantly became one of my favorite spots! The ambiance is modern yet cozy, making it the perfect place to relax with friends or even unwind alone. THEY GOT RID OF THE BINGSOO. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Walk by this place and was waved in by one of the waitress. Since it seem really invited, we decided to try it out. We are the mixed berry and the peanut one. The place looks very bright and clean. We ordered for take out and she packed in a cooler bag which was really cool. I had the walnut one with the rice cake bits. She told me that like shave ice but not.. I was not sure what she meant until I ate it. And she was right.... It taste like ice but it was creamy and it doesn't melt as fast. At one point, I left it out and was wondering why it doesn't melt at all. It eventually did melt after about 15 mins. I really enjoyed it and very excited about trying the other flavors. read more

Friendly staff ! Got a pleasant surprise of more gooey sweet red bean and almonds that were hiding in the middle of the bingsoo. The whole thing looked bigger than expected but was perfect to share among two. This was the perfect place for a light dessert. A friend who saw my IG story raved about this place and told me she dies for the sweet pumpkin one so I guess that gives me a good excuse to come back :) Overall, Anko is a great place to get bingsu and taiyaki. Menu is easy to read. Taste - I ordered a black sesame shaved ice. It seems a small ball, cute! But because of its shape, little bit hard to eat. Taste was great. I think better than sul&bean. Rice cake was also great. Black semame was also in the ice, so I could feel ita taste untill I ate all. Service and Price - Service was good. Anko is a hidden gem in ktown, serving as a nice spot to get some work done or chat with friends! I would say this place is underrated in terms of matcha. I have not heard much about this place, but I'm glad I have found it! I tried the strawberry matcha, and it was so delicious. The matcha flavor paired nicely with the strawberry, and I can tell that the matcha that they use is high quality. The only downside is that parking can be difficult to find. I like this flavor because it isn't too sweet, but refreshing (bonus points for providing extra anko and condensed milk in little cups). It's a very sizable portion and to be honest, I barely finished mine, and worth the price ($8). They kept telling it was coming but people who came after got theirs and left before we even got to taste the sweet bingsoo. Their black sesame bingsoo is savory and sweet and such a hit! Even though the portion looks big, the actual dessert is light and airy. The shaved ice is milky and has a soft texture. Great spot to hang out and chat after a dinner date. read more

My favorite of the 2 was the Strawberry Matcha Kream Spanner. The sweetness was just right. The ube was good but it was very sweet, like cake sweet. There was 1 person working, but the drinks came out super quick. Order through the kiosk and pick up the order when it's ready. Seats available both inside and outside the cafe. They also provide 3 hour parking validation.

The cakes look delicate and aesthetically pleasing. The folks here are very kind and friendly as well. Since I love corn, haha, and the description was very corn heavy. I got a slice of the mugwort injeolmi. I've never had it before, but it just looks so interesting. Fortunately and unsurprisingly, it was just as tasty as it was pleasing to the eye. I was by myself so I was able to find a small table pretty quickly but seating to get tight here. I think a lot of the business is takeout. It was also in the late afternoon during the weekday so it was probably one of their slower times. I originally wanted to try the mango sticky rice flavored shaved ice because it looked really good in the photos, but unfortunately they didn't have it today. I've been to the Concerto Bakery in City Market and the original Concerto Restaurant before it closed, but this was my first time visiting this location. I stopped by because they were running a promotion through August 6: a signature latte or matcha with a salt bread for just $6 (no tax). My friend and I ordered one signature latte and one matcha, and both drinks came out in about 5 minutes. There are a handful of seats inside, along with a few tables right outside if you want to enjoy your drink there. The matcha was surprisingly good. Personally, I'd still rank Rok and Stagger above Concerto for matcha, but I'd say Concerto serves one of the better matchas in Koreatown compared to most other cafés I've tried. The real star, though, is the salt bread (pro tip: ask for it toasted - or toast it for 3 mins in the air fryer before eating). I've tried salt bread from over 10 bakeries across Koreatown and Little Tokyo, and Concerto is still my favorite. I haven't had the chance to try the famous Ordis salt bread yet, but among the places I've been, this one stands out for its buttery flavor, crisp exterior, and soft, fluffy interior. Of course, if you've had salt bread in Korea--places like Jayeondo or bakeries around Jongno--you'll find even more exceptional versions there. Service (10/10): Both the cashier and barista were incredibly friendly. They even let my friend charge her phone after it died, which was a thoughtful gesture that really stood out. Overall: If you're in the area, I'd definitely recommend stopping by--especially while the $6 drink + salt bread promotion is still available. Overall, I'd probably be interested in coming back to try their nutty twist since it's a signature item. WiFi is also available so it makes for a decent place to get work done.
