Very very pushy with selling things that are not needed at all! Call you too many times and ask the same questions over and over. Appointment that should have only took a half an hour took 2 hours, I think she needs to retrain her staff on how to be more professional and not pushy salesmen. And the dentist shook her head and sighed at me. Very unprofessional. I am going to double check the bill since I read people are charged for fluoride and deep cleaning when not done or not asked for. I'm still in shock. My jaw hurts from inexperienced X-ray tech that took forever and had trouble doing them. Worst dental experience ever! In my opinion I think they tell every single client they need a deep clean! $$$$$$$$$$$$. I have never had dentist anxiety before. I do now! And one more thing. Do not have old fillings redone if you are not having any problems with them. You could cause more problems doing so. Less is so much more. Dr Talmood is an angel. Like most people, I do not look forward to going to the dentist. But I can finally say I've found someone who makes me feel comfortable, and genuinely cares about her patients comfort and customer service. I have seen Dr Talmood several times in the last few months and each time her and her staff were stellar. I told her I had anxiety from needles, and she took special care to make sure the injections were short and that I was number properly. If I do much as winced during the procedure she would stop immediately and numb further. She was always checking in to see if I was ok as was her staff. I had a lapse in insurance this week and ended up with a TERRIBLE toothache. If you've had a toothache, you know how bad that pain is. I came into the office literally crying from the pain. Dr Talmood took me in and fixed it. Her wonderful receptionist helped me get the correct authorization for insurance so that I could have immediate relief. Not only did she fix my bad tooth but she filled in an extra couple fillings when she was in there! I cannot express my sheer relief and GRATITUDE to Dr Talmood, her receptionist, and all of her assistants who made a very painful situation into a positive experience. I have nothing but praise for Dr Talmood and her office and refuse to go anywhere else from now on. Dr. Talmood is the most talented and professional dentist I have ever had! She truly loves her work, and gives her undivided attention when talking to her patients during the visits. I have been to many dentists throughout my life. However, I never felt comfortable with the diagnosis for my teeth, hence why I kept changing doctors, until I went to Dr. Talmood office! She is the only doctor that gave me options and actually took the time to explain my case to me so I could understand as a patient what was going on with my teeth. I have been a patient of Dr. Talmoods since I had my first tooth, over twenty five years ago. I can promise you will be satisfied with your visit. Some people have left reviews saying it takes a long time to see her, and that's true. Depending on what you're having done it can take a couple of hours- but for a very good reason! She cares. You will NOT be in any pain or rushed during any procedure. Today I had my last wisdom tooth extracted and she continuously asked if I was still numb/if I am having pain. If you are frustrated because you feel numb and ready for your procedure but she is next door with another patient, stop. Stop and realize she is a medically trained professional and a licensed dentist and you are (likely) not. Trust that she knows the correct timing. Trust the process of this office. At first, it seemed like such a great place. Staff was very friendly when I entered the office. Also, Anna calmed me down by letting me know the process would not be bad. However, after the x-rays were done they started to give me a list of all the things wrong with my teeth. They said I need to have my wisdom teeth removed (which I knew was coming), I need to take care of three cavities and to have a DEEP cleaning of my teeth. My insurance covered the removal of my wisdom teeth so that was not the problem. The deep cleaning was not needed and I felt pressured to get it. IT cost $800!!! I think it is absurd that they can charge someone that kind of money. I was aware of the price before getting the procedure but after I got it done I was quoted other places and it was nowhere near the price they charged me here. Also, the deep cleaning was not an emergency but at the time I felt if I did not get it my teeth were going to rot. Which was not the case. That first day I met with Anna I got 2 teeth pulled, 1 cavity fill and the deep cleaning. I was injected with the numbing shot over 15 times! It was incredibly painful. I have never heard of a dentist office having to do that so many times. The entire process took about 5-6 hours. I literally spent the whole day there with them working on my mouth. What was frustrating to say the least was the fact Anna works on multiple people at the same time! I understand you want the business but hire another dentist! I feel that I should not be sitting for a hour while you work on 3 other clients. NOT OKAY. Fast forward to my second appointment. I had to go back to get the 2nd cavity filled. While she was working on the cavity she stopped and said this would have to become a root canal procedure! EXCUSE ME? You wait until AFTER I have a huge hole in my tooth with no filling to tell me it has to be a root canal procedure? After she told me this she proceeded to ask me how I would be paying for it?? I had no idea my insurance did not cover this and that it would cost me over $2000. If I remember correctly it was about $2500 but do not quote me. At that point I was in the dental office crying because I work part time due to the fact I am a full time student. I do NOT have that kind of money just lying around. She then had her "assistant" talk to me of ways I can get the money. He said I could ask my parents, or friends. How embarrassing is that. My boyfriend had come with me to the appointment for moral support and the assistant TRIED TO GET HIM TO SIGN UP FOR A CREDIT CARD (care credit) to pay for MY root canal. I think that was completely unprofessional on their part. The frustrating thing about this situation is that they took x-rays prior to this appointment. If they knew it was going to be a root canal then why did they not talk to me about costs then? Also, if I needed a root canal why could they pressure me to get a deep cleaning for $800? I would think a root canal is more of an emergency situation. At the end I was only able to afford the filling of the tooth with cement (which cost me $1200). Which again is a complete rip off. Currently, I still have the cement in my tooth with NO crown because I cannot afford it. Anna scheduled me an appointment for 2 weeks out to come and get a crown. By that point I wanted nothing to do with this dental office. Every other week after the appointment she would have one of her staff try to reschedule an appointment to get the crown even though I cancelled the follow up appointment. One of her staff even threatened me that if I do not make the next appointment I will be charged a cancellation fee! The moral of this story is unless you want to get ripped off DO NOT GO HERE. Most Expensive Dental Cleaning of My Life. Buyer Beware. New Patients Proceed with Caution... A few weeks ago I took a day off of work to take care of a few errands, one of which was getting my teeth cleaned. I researched my insurance "preferred providers" and found Dr. Talmood. They had an availability that day. I arrived, filled-out the necessary paperwork, and then was told my cleaning with X-rays would be $226. I couldn't believe my ears. My insurance would cover $47 and I would be on the hook for the remaining $179. I told them I've never had to pay out-of-pocket for a simple cleaning and X-rays. Oh well I thought. It's difficult for me to take days off of work and I didn't think I'd find another dentist on such short notice. They took the X-rays, cleaned my teeth, I paid, then went home. When I told my wife what I paid she was outraged. She works in a similar office and knows all the ins and outs about insurance, new patients, cleanings, X-rays, etc. To make her point she called Dr. Talmood's office and pretended to be a new patient without insurance wanting a cleaning and X-rays. $69. They told her it would be $69. Unbelievable. The following day, while I worked, my wife (god bless her) paid a visit to Dr. Talmood's office and asked them to explain their exorbitant charges. They could not explain why I was charged $157 more than an uninsured new patient, other than they can charge insured persons more money, or MAC (Maximum Allowed Cost). They agreed to take a look at the charges and said they would re-contact us in two days. Two days came and went. No re-contact. A few days later I called and left a message. Again, no re-contact. I can't say that my cleaning was poor in any way, but I can express how disappointed I am with the business-end of this interaction. If I had known beforehand that having no insurance was better than having little insurance, then I would've gone that route. Then again, I would've expected as much from an honest dentist. In addition to the crazy prices for basic services, this office also uses pressure tactics for bigger payouts. They say multiple things are wrong with your teeth and you need to get them fixed as soon as possible. A lady will sit down with you and go over all the various finance options, "discounts", and will ask when is the earliest you can make the appointment, because, after all, your tooth must be fixed now. These procedures are in the multiple thousands of dollars. As I sat there during both my cleaning and X-rays I heard what almost resembled panhandling with two other patients - prices, discounts, payment options, who else might be able to assist them making payments, and so on and so forth. If by chance you are ever waiting in the lobby, or god-forbid sitting in the X-ray or cleaning chairs, listen intently, because without a doubt you'll hear the panhandling pressure tactics. An honest dentist - a good dentist - doesn't need to get maximum money up front. They will get you in the door with great customer service, give you the best prices they can offer, and they will provide excellent work over the course of several years. They will build trust and confidence with their clients. For me, it's a major red flag when a dentist tries to extract as much from your bank account up front. Maybe she lacks confidence in her work? Maybe she has a poor track record maintaining clients? Whatever the case may be I can say with firsthand experience that Dr. Talmood isn't providing an honest dental service, and I caution any new client considering her. Buyer Beware. read more

I am not sure about all the negative reviews that I see for Doctor Anna Talmood, all I can say she is super phenomenal, the treatment she has done on my teeth has been outstanding. I have never had a bad experience ever with Dr, Talmood, and I have had extensive treatment done on my teeth. Dr.Talmood is a fantastic dentist and all Dr's and dentist also must make money to pay for living expenses. I know for the fact that dental school can cost up to $400,000,00. so it is important to be a business man. Also dentistry is a very difficult profession. My husband and I were traveling to Orange county and I was eating nuts and suddenly I felt pain in my tooth. yes I broke my big molar tooth. it is on Saturday. we have goggle a dentist and call Dr Talmood. I explained to her what happen and she ask me to see her in her office immediately. Then I found out that she was with her kids. she brought all her 4 beautiful kids to he office. Very polite family. I felt so bad taking her time away from her family . I felt very selfish, but I respect her so much for being there for me and I felt I am in GOOD HAND.Also two assistant came to help her and me. she did my root canal , and build up in addition to my crown with in two hours. she is a great dentist with great hands. very caring and well spoken. she explained every thing in detail. I realized that she is not the average dentist, her service is excellent, the work she does is outstanding. Not to mention her staff are one of the most personable and friendly people that I have ever met at a dental office. Believe me, if its one thing they care about, its what the patient is experiencing, they go above and beyond to make sure the patient is comfortable and no pain is felt on any given procedure. Dentistry can be expensive, but you get what you pay for. Also 100% because of my negligence in looking after my teeth, Dr.Talmood has been a savior for me, fixing me up as a result of my poor habits in keeping my teeth clean. And she does not do unnecessary procedures. I decided to have her as my Dentist also I feel better having a female Dentist. it is very far from my house , but going for check up twice a year would give a me feel better. I must say, I have visited many different dentists over the years from living all over and Dr. Talmood is the best I have ever been to! From the moment you enter the waiting area until you leave, you are treated with world class service. The ladies who work in the front part of the office are very kind and helpful. I was not sure of my insurance coverage and they were able to quickly look up my information. I arrived for my appointment a bit early and I was seen promptly. All of the employees who work in the dental area are very thoughtful and nice as well. I have never had somebody do x-rays in such an easy manner before. I really liked the fact that the x-rays were digital, so I was able to see how all of my teeth look. The doctor also took digital photos of my teeth in order to better explain the health of my teeth. This was very helpful in understanding more about my teeth. As in past visits, Dr. Talmood was fantastic in explaining everything she was doing as well as how I can better maintain my dental health. I went to a couple of my appointments thinking maybe the first was just a bad experience, and wanted to give them a few more chances to see if they had changed... They hadn't. There isn't any communication between the staff, they try to charge you before even looking into your insurance. I will say that Dr. Talmood will bluntly tell you the truth- which I appreciate... But that is about the only good thing about the office. In my first visit, they did a standard exam. Dr. Talmood explained everything they felt should be done, and then left. A few minutes later the office manager came up to make sure I was aware of everything the doctor wanted to do, but added a few more things to the list that would have added a couple thousand to my bill. I said that the doctor didn't mention those items to me, but I was told that the doctor changed her mind, and those things to be done. Without skipping a beat, she immediately began talking about payment plans, and their wonderful interest rates. I asked if the doctor was going to come back to talk to me about these "new" items, and was told that she had other patients to see. She then started stressing the important of scheduling a deep clean, and explained the pricing. I said that I would need to think about it, but I would most likely only want to do the basic cleaning. I scheduled the cleaning appointment for the next week, and left. I called a couple days before the cleaning explaining that I did not want to do the deep clean. They said that they had made a note in my file. I then called back the day before to confirm that I didn't want toe deep clean, but was met with confusion. The lady who answered then started telling me the benefits of the deep clean, and why it would be best. I stated again that I did not want to do that at this time. When I showed up for my appointment, and was told to go speak to someone to discuss payment. I went to the person I was told to go speak with, and her first question to me was, "And how did you want to pay for the deep clean?" I said that I had called twice stating that I didn't want it. She just stared at me, then looked through my file saying no one had put any notes on the file. I then said that I only want the basic clean- they tried to talk me into it, but finally gave up. Every experience I had after was where there was no communication, or they would try to do more after the doctor had already left and "changed her mind" without telling me directly. My appointment was scheduled for 3:00pm, I showed up at 2:45pm. office was clean and nice one other man waiting " I believe he was waiting for someone". I got called back for X-rays and had them completed about 3:20pm. now the problem I had been waiting for 1:20 and never met the doctor? I got up to leave and was told on my way out that the first appointment is usually long? I'm not posting this to hurt the practice only to warn of the long wait time. read more

My usual dentist is a family friend but not an oral surgeon so when I was in pain for my wisdom teeth I had to go to a doctor on my insurance for a referral. I hadn't had a teeth cleaning in a while, so I made an appointment for one and had confirmed with the office the time of the appointment: 11:15. I was a student nearby at the time and this was a perfect time slot for me to ride my bike to her office and be back in time for my 2 o clock class. When I got to the office, I found out they had my appointment for me at 11:45 but I was already there so I decided to just wait although I was extremely frustrated. At 12 They took me to get X-rays (which was quick and the only positive experience there) and then immediately to the chair. I didn't even see Dr. Talmood until 12:45!!! The only reason I remember all these specific times is because I was so conscience of making it back before my 2 o clock class. She then proceeded to pick at my teeth for 5 minutes (didn't even clean them) which was the most painful dental experience I've ever had. She told me I have 5+ cavities she needed to fill and insisted I needed braces. I don't even have crooked teeth. She then insisted that using anesthesia for wisdom teeth procedures was a waste of money and would cost upwards of $1000 and tried to get me to make an appointment for her to do it. I walked out with a terrible experience, 2 oral surgeon referrals, and an orthodontist referral (decided not to fight with them about that one). AND i was 30 minutes late to my class. Ended up having a WAY better experience with the oral surgeon that took out my wisdom teeth and I'm willing to bet I was there for less time than at Dr. Talmood's office. Plus using anethesia was only around $300 on my plan. Not only was she deceitful and sneaky about her pricing, she left me in pain, late to class, and was completely rude to me the entire time. Not a chance in hell I'm going back there. Almost 2 years later and I still get emails/phone calls from them asking if I want to follow through with the orthodontist I showed interest in. WTF. UPDATE(in response to dr. talmoods comment): of course she doesn't remember who I am because although I was there for 3+ hours I saw her for maybe 5 minutes and I'm pretty sure she never even learned my name. Awesome patient care. Also I don't understand how the office could've been so backed up with only one other person in the waiting room on a Tuesday at 11am. Also, did you miss the part about me never coming back to see you ever? I have no interest in discussing my issues with you because there's no way I'm letting you near my teeth ever again. read more

I give Dr. Talmood 5 stars because her and her staff TOTALLY deserve it. I had X-rays done a week ago and the x ray tech was super super friendly and patient. Today I came back and had an old filling replaced with a porcelain one. I was SUPER nervous but Dr. Talmood was very understanding and just talking with her calmed me down. I didn't feel ANYTHING and was done with everything in about 30 minutes. She's a total professional. I'll be back for my cleaning next week and am sure I'll be a long time customer. If I could rate this office less than 1 star I would. I came to this office for a genteel check up. I have an HMO policy and was told I needed a full mouth debridement, the lady from The front office told me it would be 180.00 dollars. I said I would think about it and several days later went to get a second opinion, the doctor said I only needed a general cleaning and guess what??? It was free. I called Dr. Talmood's dental office the following day and expressed my concern about them charging me for a full mouth debridement, I asked to speak to the doctor and got no return calls. Ultimately, they told me she was unavailable to speak to me at all and they were going to dismiss me from the office for not doing treatment that doctor recommended. I find it amusing they were able to diagnose some fillings I also needed but recommend a full mouth debridement, since this procedure is used to allow for the doctor to get diagnosis. It's confusing, and appalling that they swindle people's money this way. I recommend to stay Away from this place it has the word FRAUD written all over it. read more

I have always had PPO insurance but made the mistake of being cheap and opting for an HMO this time around. Since I could no longer see the dentist I have been seeing for the past 15 years, I had to find a new one. I chose this office. I had an appointment on August 10. I arrived on time for my appointment. The receptionist was there but did not acknowledge me because she was looking something up for another patient. I waited for what felt like forever before she even made eye contact with me. Eventually they took me back. The visit started with full xrays which was slightly old school since it isn't at the chair and it was pretty dingy but I liked the operator. Next I moved to the chair and Talmood came over pretty quickly. You know those really unfriendly people you encounter in this world? She's one. She didn't make any pleasantries and didn't speak directly to me more than once. I asked her politely to repeat herself because she talks so low and I thought she was talking to me but no, she rudely snapped that she wasn't talking to me. Okay, fine. I dont need a sweet little doctor. I just need a cleaning. But next, I made the mistake of telling them that it had been 15-18 months since my last cleaning since I was in between dentists because after that, guess what I supposedly needed? A full deep cleaning. I couldn't believe it. I take good care of my teeth and have been fortunate to have excellent dental care my entire life. I am one of the lucky ones. Talmood quickly left and they sent over the hygienist to call out those numbers that they do when they go over your gums. She was calling out 5's and 6's even in the front of my mouth. No way! How could this be? Now i'm feeling bad about myself (even though I had no cavities.. weird, right). The hygienist was very nice but now that I know she was lying and trying to rip me off I'm just mad. Anyways, I told them I needed an estimate. The receptionist told me she would have the estimate to me by Friday (August 12). I left. Friday comes and goes. Monday comes and goes. Tuesday comes and goes. Finally I call on Wednesday. A nice man answered but couldn't give me any information as the receptionist was on break. He said she would call me back. She didn't. I call on Thursday morning. No answer. I call on Thursday afternoon, no answer. I call on Thursday evening. No answer. Finally on Friday afternoon I get an email with the estimate. $450, not covered by insurance. Yikes. I called the receptionist to cancel the appointment (for the reason that I will come to) and let her know I wouldn't be coming in for the deep cleaning. She proceeded to let me know that she pulled my chart and I had significant bone loss and needed it. Lie. Luckily for me, my husband just got a new job and we became eligible for a PPO plan. After my bad experience at the office, I had him sign us up, we got coverage the next Monday and by Wednesday I was in the chair of my first class PPO dentist. Not only did they do another full xrays but they did those panoramic xrays where they see your entire skull and deep down into your jaw. And guess what? I didn't need a deep cleaning after all. I just had some inflammation that could easily be fixed with flossing regularly. Thank goodness for my PPO and my first class dentist. read more

PRO: Dr. Talmood is a great dentist. She does quality work and is very kind. She's sensitive to her patients concerns. CON: I do agree with other reviews on the wait time. I don't think there has been a time, I didn't spend 2 hrs in her office for a cleaning. One time, I was in there for 3 hrs!! Most of the time, I do wait almost 45 mins before I get called in. Way past my appointment time. While I understand emergencies do come up, the problem here is Dr. Talmood is so talented, she works on 2-3 patients at a time. She basically bounces from room to room. There have been times, I've walked out and rescheduled because of the long wait time either in the office or in the exam room. I could understand if I was getting a root canal, implants or cosmetic work. 2 1/2 hrs for simple services like a cleaning is kinda ridiculous. read more

The dentist is kind and qualified, but the incompetency of the reception staff made the experience(s) so unbearable, I have to give this place three stars. I arrived for my first 2PM appointment at 1:45. I checked in and sat there until 3:15 and finally went up for the second time to check on the status. Guess what? "Oh, we called you to reschedule you for another day." Excuse me? That did not happen, I received no call & no message. In FACT, I received a text the day prior CONFIRMING my appointment for the following day. If you had called me, don't you think I would have shown up on THAT specified day instead of the original? Here's a tip, don't make new patients wait over an hour and then send them home to come back another day. Talk about unprofessional. The second time I went to the dental office -- the one I was rescheduled for -- They refused to have my dental X-rays sent over electronically from my previous office who had just recently done the scans. They claimed they had a different computer system, limiting them to only regular scans. So I sat there for 45 minutes in the chair until they finally got to taking the uncomfortable x-rays from every which way and angle of my mouth. And THEN they tell me they were able to get the X-rays scanned over and didn't need to take new ones after all. Seriously? The third time I went wasn't so bad, because I actually go to see the dentist, who in all fairness is actually very kind and proficient. But the call prior to my appointment was utterly ridiculous. I called the front desk to schedule an appointment to get a crown placed, and the receptionist asked my name. Upon giving it to her, she responded by saying my insurance doesn't cover crowns. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and called my insurance right after, and was told that crowns WERE covered under my insurance. I call the dental office back and spoke to the same receptionist, relaying the information I had just received from my insurance company. Her response? "No, it says right here that you're not covered. But here's the price." When I refused to consider the option of paying, she asked me who from the insurance company gave me the approval and the corresponding approval number for the operation. You're KIDDING me right? That's YOUR job! I didn't ask my customer service rep. from my insurance company for the specific approval reference number, nor did I care to ask her name after receiving the information, I shouldn't have had to. So I called the insurance company once again, spoke to another representative, and received the approval number AND name of the person I spoke with. I called the dental office back for a third time, and gave the clearly incompetent receptionist the information, along with some added frustration for her lack of professionalism with my first two appointments, and now her refusal to send in an approval request for a simple crown. After which she said "Oh, I had the wrong person. Yes, I think you're approved. I'll send it in now." And no apology for her clerical error, and daftness. Needless to say, I've changed dentists. Wonderful experience! I visited as a new patient for a broken crown that turned into oral surgery. Dr. Talmood ran the necessary tests, and explained everything so I'd understand what was needed and why. Her staff was fantastic, as well. Very friendly and accommodating. Dr. Talmood has been my dentist since I was a child, and I'm still here! Her and all the staff in the office are very friendly and accessible. It's always easy for me to make an appointment and they have great reminders that are sent out to confirm your appointment. Even though I go on occasional hiatuses from my dental care (oops) they always treat me with respect. My only tip is to make sure you have a good block of time for your appointment because sometimes you could require multiple treatments or need to be seen by the doctor and hygienist etc. read more

My husband had to take my father in law, he had been in pain for a week. And he just could not handle anymore. So he called and she said sure bring him in and we will see what we can do. No problem. So he took him in and she stayed late and pulled 2 teeth. That office is the BEST, very sweet and compassion employees. They even made my father in law laugh. I saw Dr Talmood in her office for a routine cleaning and was very impressed by her professionalism, her staff, and the cleanliness of her office. She was gentle and spent time out of her busy schedule to address ALL my dental concerns and get to know me as a new patient. The dentist is my most frequented doctor and it is important for me to find someone who I would feel comfortable with and enjoy seeing every 6 months, Dr. Talmood certainly surpassed all my expectations!!!!! I was so impressed I sent my husband to get his dental work done from her, and he was very impressed by the service as well!!!!! Dr Talmood!! What can I say about her and her AMAZING staff. Long ago I was DESPERATE for a new dentist. Long story short I have been with her for the past 3 years and won't go anywhere else. I'm 24 and I just recently completed a very long journey of getting not one but two teeth implants done. She literally is the best at making you feel comfortable and pain free. Trust me... after bone grafts and getting two screws placed inside my gums she goes at your pace to keep the environment easy going and most importantly comfortable. Love Dr. Talmood! She seems to genuinely care about her patients which is hard to find in a dentist. She also picked up on the fact that I was grinding my teeth at night which no other dentist had noticed and now with my nightguard I don't wake up with jaw pain. I have had a lot of different dentists, in the last year, I've finally found a truly consciences dental group. They have taken care of some of my special needs. I had a two hour appointment, the whole time Dr. Talmood, would ask me if I was Ok. She is caring and very nice. Over the last couple of years I have been coming to Dr. Talmood for my dental care until a year ago when I moved. During that time I tried a dentist closer to me and it was a mistake! Because the level of expertise, care, patience that Dr. Talmood has makes the 40 mile drive worth it. She is so gentle which makes the experience a lot less painful.
