Where do all the locals go? Well, try Aloha Lounge located in the heart of Kaimuki Town. A small hole in the wall dive bar is what this place is. But how the heck could a hole in the wall dive bar rate 5 stars? Well, let me try to explain: 1) The owner Bernadette (I think that is her name) is customer oriented and she makes sure all of her patrons are comfortable and serviced. 2) The price is right! No frills bar with spirits, wine and beer all at the decent price of REASONABLE! 3) The establishment is clean. I look at the establishment, starting with the restrooms followed by the cooking area then the bar and of course, the floors. And this place its the 5 mark on all counts 4) Parking plentiful (unless of course, you have a party for 50 then you might have a problem) 5) Entertainment available with big screen TV's, dart boards, karaoke machine and CD juke box I had a private party there and it felt so great; as it was my own place. Staff was extremely courteous and helpful throughout my 3 hour event. Want to know more? I suggest you stop in! You won't regret your visit!

My lost aunt ran a small coffee shop in Japan. This restaurant is a very calming place where I can feel Aloha, as it reminds me of it. Actually, the shop is very lively with loco every night. Recently, the number of loco bars has decreased, but I would like to protect the precious loco bars where Ohana gathers.

Local sports hideaway tucked on 9th Ave. Welcoming staff, clean atmosphere. A great place to have some drinks, darts, karaoke & fun.

Aloha Lounge, located on the back side of Town Restaurant in Kaimuki. Its your typical neighborhood "local" bar with pool tables, darts, karaoke and alcohol. I had some crazy nights here as my friends are "regulars" here since they live so close. Aunty is great and she is always willing to cook up some pupu's for you to eat. It's funny how you can end up here after dinner and still eat more. The beer is cheap, Karaoke is $1 but its the company that you surround yourself with that makes it fun.

The famous Aloha Lounge -once the entertainment center for the musical Isaac family in the 70s has changed ownership multiple times- but as of October 1, 2018 new local owners have taken over the iconic location in Kaimuki. I went to the Grand Opening on October6, 2018 and had a great time. There are a bunch of big screen TVs around the bar - showing college, Pro, and local high school football. They are still working out the bugs for PPV sports I am guessing -so we'll see. There was live music and the crowd were older locals-you know - the non trouble making kine!! The wait staff was on it!! They have a big kitchen and although the food was all catered for the grand opening -I suspect in the future that will be utilized. I saw some famous people in there that night-so i think this is going to be a great spot to party!! Its changed into a pretty nice Sports bar-so I'll be going back for Football games and stuff.

Thankfully, Michael and his team were able to accommodate us, which I really appreciated. From the moment we walked in, the place had a great vibe, the interior is beautiful. I had the expressing my love all night and even though the place was busy and there was a bit of a wait for food, it was honestly worth it. We had the crab dynamite, the ahi brioche, and the prosciutto and burrata. SO GOOD! My friends and I had such a great time and will definitely be back.

Look for the "430" sign, and take the stairs up. To be sure, you'll see a menu for this place on the left before you head up. They have a shared, pay by QR code, parking lot around the corner. Entrance is on Waimanu St. Street parking also available. Once upstairs, there's a small sign next to the door. Feels like you're going to the doctor's office. Inside is dark, small and intimate, full bar with counter seats, and hits all the points of a lounge with coffee tables, couches, and cushioned chairs all around made for conversation. Their menu has a nice selection of liquor and cocktails. The Barreled Old Man was a little too sweet for my taste. Little bit heavy on the Averna and Black Walnut liqueur. I prefer the whiskey to shine and the sweetness to be more subtle. Their regular Old Fashioned is much better, and exactly how it should be. Smooth, rich, strong whiskey with a subtle sweetness. They can make a Pina Colada, fyi. Just not with a blender. Decent drink. Slightly heavy on the pineapple juice and light on the rum (Why is the rum always gone? - Captain Jack Sparrow). The Wiseman - light, nice rye spice kick, subtly sweet, earthy, and oaky. Rowan's Creek was a special recommendation by our server. After a sample, we had to try one. Smooth, earthy, spicy with a slight sweet- and fruitiness. Overall, a very nice experience with solid drinks, comfortable, relaxed atmosphere, and an excellent staff. The servers were very friendly, warm, hospitable, knowledgeable, and attentive. I'll definitely come back the next time for drinks!

There's no: "Moonglow" (Benny Goodman) or "That was my heart" (honor to Ella Fitzgerald), so I asked for my favorite aperitif, "Dubonnet" , no. But, they came up with my other favorite, sambuca Mist. I have to agree with another reviewer that the French baguette served with the charcuterie was hard as could be and inedible. I did not enjoy the choice of cheeses as they were both of the same hard boring tastes, unimaginative, mix it up. They olives should be pitted. The tiramisu dessert was very delicious, even though very small, but expected--after all its fine dining. I have no other way to tell new manager to up their game in the food and beverage department. Just wouldn't expect Halekulani to slip in these departments. Also, manager never came around or was seen checking in his or her patrons, not very 5 star there. Just being honest. The complimentary valet parking was exceptional. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.
