    Jon Fia's bday party!

Row Bar Kaka'ako is a great spot for those looking to relax outdoors with a drink and soak in the lively atmosphere of Honolulu's Waterfront Plaza. The open-air setup means you're getting fresh breezes rather than A/C, which works perfectly for Hawaii's weather--just be mindful of the cigar-friendly vibe, which adds a unique touch but might not be for everyone. TVs all around make it an ideal place to catch a game or big sporting event, and parking is straightforward with options for both street and garage parking.[yelp +3] What really stands out is how flexible Row Bar is about food: you're welcome to bring in outside bites, whether it's from nearby Mexican spots or poke shops, since the bar itself serves strictly drinks these days. The staff are known for being friendly, and regulars rave about the easygoing atmosphere--especially for after-work meetups, casual hangs with friends, or blowing off steam over happy hour deals.[tripadvisor +2] If you're a cigar enthusiast, this is one of the best spots in Honolulu to enjoy a stick alongside your favorite beer or cocktail. Keep in mind, service can be hit or miss, especially when it gets busy, but the crowd is diverse and there's always something interesting happening--whether it's vendor collabs, sports giveaways, or local live music.[wanderlog +2] Overall, Row Bar Kaka'ako is a laid-back outdoor hangout worth checking out for its casual, dog-friendly vibe, solid drink choices, and cigar-friendly niche--just don't expect a full food menu or super speedy service when they're packed.

Stopped by on my way to a club in Chinatown to have a beer get the night started . Great location easy parking very chill spot . Open air bar , tvs for sports and fights . Great service bartender was awesome heard Claudia was a great server .

Beers on tap are still around $6. The biggest change is that there are no more food options as Tamira's pulled out. You can bring your own food. So if you're ok with drinking, smoking cigars (we are) and watching a game on the screen, this is the place for you.

Located in the middle of restaurant row is this cute little bar perfect for those pau hana (after work) pow wows with your fellow colleagues. The whole venue is placed outdoors where you can either lounge at the tables or sit directly at the bar to unwind and watch some tv. Service here is great. The staff are very chill, friendly, and easy to talk to. It is just the perfect way to just relax after a stressful work day. The food was pretty delicious. Although my friend and I arrived to the venue a little later in the night (around 7ish), there weren't that much of a selection as they had a little over 5 items that were sold out by the time we got there. We ended up ordering a plate of loaded fries with cheese, bacon, tomatoes and green onion. The fries were waffle cut which was perfect to catch all that toppings. The order came out quickly; perfectly cooked and well balanced with the creaminess of the cheese topping. We also ordered the wings (comes in 6) with the parmesan garlic dry rub. Wings were cooked perfectly and packed in a lot of savory flavor that made you want to eat more. Since it was a wine preferred night, we opted for the house glass of sauvignon blanc which was quite delicious. I would definitely come back here to try out the menu and unwind after a day in the office. And definitely come earlier to get a better selection of food.

The Row at Kaka'ako is the only open-air bar on Oahu that allows cigar smokers to puff in peace! Hoon & Nick provide exceptional service & hospitality every time I stop by, making it feel like a home away from home. Good times, thank you!

Happy hour prices and what they tried to charge me without notice.

** DO NOT GO THERE ** 1) we had reservations for 4pm. Early yeah! Intentions to get drunk! Neva happen. First waitress. Young girl. Service sucked. 2) now there's 8 of us there. New young guy. Had to tell him how we've been waiting an hour for drinks and food. 3) he brings our bill. Everything is a $1 or $2 more than the happy hour menu he gave us. So his explanation is prices went up. The menus are old but our system has the new prices. 4) I'm like. Seriously. You want me to pay for something that costs more than what you present me? I said. I should call the police. Brent the manager giggled. Yeah giggle bro! You stand there and want to take my money. Seriously. All our checks had the wrong prices and no one knew the prices went up. He kept saying. The menus are still at the printers. I'm also filing a complaint with the BBB. This is highway robbery to expect consumers to pay more that what should of been honored on the menu placed on our table. To end it. I still tipped the dumbasses. Picture for evidence. As he took all the menus away from our table.

They take reservations for large parties! Outdoor bar, with lots of tables for big parties. Drinks come with lots of ice. Majority of our group said our drinks tasted watered down. Midori sour ($8) taste only like sour juice and water. Service is good, large parties are harder but they were great with starting and closing tabs.

The staff was super nice about it and was able to accommodate us, with only a small request that we be out by 8pm since there was another big party with a reservation coming in. Absolutely reasonable. They sat us right away at three large tables, which gave us plenty of space for food and didn't force us to sit super close together. Menus, waters, plates, napkins, and forks were all brought out immediately, and our waiter was quick to take our order. We started with the prix fixe menu for 8-10 guests and were going to add other items à la carte, but a handful of our group accidentally went to the other Side Street location (make sure your group is all on the same page), so what we ordered ended up being more than enough. We left stuffed and with 5 boxes of food still. Edamame was nice and steamy, and large enough to easily pop the beans out with your mouth. Wish there was a bit more salt though. The farmer's salad had everything going on from citrusy to salty to crispy. Avocado had a little bit of oxidation but the capers, dressing and potato curls provided plenty of reasons to overlook it. The fried rice came in a hefty portion, with sizable pieces of bacon and sausage. The chicken I didn't realize was boneless based on the shape of the deep fry, but it was nice to freely bite into it without worrying about hitting anything with my teeth. Probably a bit too much on fried bits but still good. Pork chops had a better meat to crisp ratio in my opinion, as well as juiciness. They even came with ketchup on the side, which I love as a pairing but don't see much of at restaurants. My favorite meat item was definitely the sizzling boneless kalbi. The presentation on the sizzling plate with a side of kimchi was spectacular, and the meat was full of flavor. We also ordered yakisoba, which wasn't part of the prix fixe. Tasted good but nothing past standard expectations. We let the waiter know we had a 30th birthday at the table, and they brought a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream with a candle, and did a decent job getting the whole room to participate in the singing. It could also be the type of crowd this place attracts, since it seemed that everyone was so friendly and approachable. Thanks to the quick and consistent service, we were out in a little over an hour with no complaints.

Truffle Bacon Penne Pasta 4.5/5: Surprisingly, the overall dish was not salty. It's actually pretty good for such price. The pasta is cook enough that's not overcooked or under cooked. It already comes with bacon, but I added grilled chicken for extra protein. The chicken is not salty, and it's tender and flavorful. Garlic shrimp 4.5/5: It's a food truck style garlic shrimp with rice. I will definitely get it again because it's sooo good! However, I do have to say that the shrimp was actually pretty salty. Buttt, it's sooo flavorful. You can tell they are not petty in garlic and butter because they put a lot of garlic and butter that each piece of the shrimp is coated evenly that absorbs the garlicky flavor. The shrimp is fresh and not overcooked. If you like rice, the rice will taste like heaven. The rice soaked all the garlic butter sauce, and mix it/eat with the garlic and the shrimp, it's just the right tastes.

They added my name and took down my phone number to text when the table is ready. This place is huge. There is indoor seating with lots of grass "skirt" trim around some of the ceiling and bars, and the upholstery of the dining chairs are different colorful aloha prints. On the deck there are think torches and umbrellas and string lights. On the level just a few steps down are more umbrella tables and some musicians playing Hawaiian music. All around are photos of the famous Olympic champion, surgery, and actor Duke Kahanamoku. Much to my surprise, as I was looking around while waiting for a table, a girl asked if I was Denise. They didn't text me; rather, they jot down a brief description so they can just look around and find you. She sat us on the beach deck. Our server was fantastic, so friendly with lots of explanations and recommendations. They use an ordering system and it's fun like a week liked machine. Hubby's beer was delivered to our table before our server even walked away! We both ordered the teriyaki sirloin steak with mashed potatoes. It. Was. Freaking. Delicious.
