This was my second time at AnNam cafe. I cannot stress that there's marked improvement in the menu and the presentation as well as the timing of service. The cashier behind the counter, Henry, was very helpful in answering our questions about the menu. We had the tofu bowl, the fresh spring rolls, grilled chicken bowl and banh mi. The coffee that we ordered were awesome (Vietnamese coffee and dalgona coffee). I absolutely love the fresh spring rolls and the banh mi (pork belly with extra jalapenos!!!!!). Food and atmosphere combined make this cafe a wonderful place to eat! Try it out! read more

Same vibe and food selections. Service was okay, we wished our bao buns came with our poke bowls. The workers (?), that were not on shift were able to go into the back or to the cafe area and make drinks and come back out. I was thrown off because there was a girl, obviously not in uniform walking behind the register (some girl with short shorts and blouse). I appreciated that the owner was polite to explain to us how to open the cute boxes. Opening the food itself was a unique surprise. The cashier was kind enough to explain their promos. I liked that I got a free bag :) From a Bay Area Asians to a Central Valley Asians I would recommend taking out the paper from the poke bowls. That was a very unpleasant experience for me. When I eat poke, the fish is typically cold. I believe that the fish in our poke bowls were slightly steamed by the hot rice. I did like the assortment of toppings on top of the poke. It was delicious, however, I wish there was more of everything for the price of $26. We've had more of a serving for $20 in the Bay Area... The strawberry matcha latte was a 3/10 for me. This could be because I love my matcha latte's STRONG. Not enough matcha. Too much strawberry. It tasted too much like strawberry milk. The highlight for me and my partner was the chicken bao. Very crispy, juicy, chicken 10/10. Maybe my partner and I should have gotten the Bahn Mi / Sandwiches / Bao... if we were ever to roll into this area again, I'm sure we'd try that instead. read more

Went biking riding with my friend I'm visiting here with my bf for the weekend. I haven't been back to Gilroy in years and was sad 1st street coffee is gone, but saw this place just opened last year and has Vietnamese mojito coffee (or whatever they call it I'm sure I got the order of words wrong). Anyway... We stopped off for some brunch. I ordered caramel cheesecake and Vietnamese mojito coffee, because well, I like mojitos and i like Vietnamese coffee so I said we gotta go here. My friend got the salted caramel latte and the bf was watching our bikes outside so I asked the cashier what fruity tea she recommended the butterfly something something. I also got him the chocolate croissants but they seemed small and unimpressive. Check your order on the screen before paying. Cashier forgot to add the chocolate croissants onto our order so bf had to walk back into the store to order it when the order came out to our table. I also asked for a glass of water but she forgot that and i didn't want to overwhelm her even though we were the only table that Saturday afternoon smh The caramel cheesecake was nice and dense. Cute place, would come back. My iced vietnamese mojito coffee tasted exactly like Vietnamese coffee with mint sprigs on top. The drink selection was quite interesting we ordered the Hot Lotis Yea, Strawberry Latte, and the Orange Peach Lemonade. All good choices. The place was bright and had various areas to sit & eat/drink. The plates we ordered where the Annam Rolls, Chicken Panini and the Chicken Banh-Mi. All were so delicious and plenty. I ordered the pork belly banh mi and lotus tea. The food was good but I had requested no jalapeños and jalapeños were added. I didn't realized until I had taken my second bite. My first bite, I thought well maybe the sauce is spicy. Well took a second bite and checked and found the jalapeños lol. The sandwich was great without the jalapeños because I don't eat spicy food. I took a star off because my order was not correct, otherwise I would have given them 5 stars. The place is so cute! The service was also great! Lovely new cafe in Gilroy with yummy drinks tucked away in a strip mall on 1st street. Service was very friendly - food and drinks came out quickly. Plenty of indoor/outdoor seating along with a communal bench. The decor was great and I always love hearing music while I eat to kill the awkwardness of silence. Just a few minor hiccups with the service that I'm certain they will iron out since the cafe is newly opened. The cafe is not exactly child friendly (no child seats and the food and drinks are served on fancy aesthetic dishes) but I also wouldn't call it child un-friendly. Just be prepared to order takeout if your children are antsy. Just a few comments on the food/drinks - the croissant was very dry but everything else we had was delectable! I also found it odd that they don't substitute iced drinks with hot drinks - but that might be more of a me issue. We stumbled upon a gem on the way up to see the relatives in the Bay Area. Great decor - looked like a bright and spacious tea room. We devoured delicious pho, banh mi sandwich and avocado toast. Brought a cheese danish, a strawberry danish, mango cake and pistachio cake home to share with family. A little ways from the 152 and 101 interchange but worth the detour.
