Chicken egg noodles soup - good quality of white meet, fresh, great broth. Seafood flat pho soup - two big shrimps with some pieces of squids and fish balls, fresh, spicy (level can be adjusted), great seafood broth. This pho tasted good flavored even without sriracha sauce. The staff was friendly and carefully taking our order. The restaurant was decorated with Vietnam atmosphere. I had their vegetarian Pho and it truthfully was the best I have had! Broth was delicious and veggies fresh! My partner had rice with filet steak, onions, mushrooms and peppers and all I was hearing throughout the dinner was his "yelps" of delight at the deliciousness of his dish. Simmering Pho Cafe is located inside of a strip mall off of Main Avenue. The restaurant is small but adequate for the amount of customers. Customer service is a hit or miss depending on how many people are dying at a given time. Ambiance is casual and laidback, no need to dress up, lol. The music they have playing in the background is very relaxing and enjoy watching the food videos playing on the screen. The only thing that pokes at my anxiety is the exit door. They have blocked with bamboo. We usually come for the fog which is really good and it comes with all the fixings so you can add what you like. We've had the eggrolls here and they're also prepared well. They're very crispy and crunchy on the outside and steaming on the inside. Just be careful because they always come out hot. read more

Delicious food. I have tried several dishes on the menu and pho. Temperature of foods is always appropriate. One of my pet peeve is when food arrives too cool. Qualify if food is exceptional. Food always arrives fairly quickly. The staff is very friendly, makes one feel like family. Very accommodating and attentive. Restaurant is very clean and comfortable. Nicely decorated. The BEST Pho in Morgan Hill for sure!! The server is always so friendly and hustles to every table to take their order, bring out the food, and ring them up. The vegetarian pho is delicious, I personally think the veggie broth tastes better than the chicken broth plus you get tons of veggies (cabbage, carrots, broccoli, tofu, green onion, plus the platter of bean sprouts, jalapeño, and mint! I went today with my colleague to this restaurant for lunch. I ordered #46 from the menu. Which is Hu tiu xao chay. The menu said Stir Fry vegetables with rice or egg noodles ($16.95). When the dish arrives there were literally 2 pieces of broccoli and carrots and cabbage and had 6-7 pieces of tofu and side of plain rice. I I informed the staff / waitress that I don't eat tofu and tofu was mentioned in the menu, she just had no reaction. I requested nicely if I could have few more broccoli and carrots and she said it'll cost you $2.00. Then I asked for few peanuts as that would be my protein, to that she said in this dish peanuts don't go. I feel cheated for paying for a meal which was half the size and zero accommodations. The service was so bad, the waitress didn't even come to ask how was your food or bring more water. I will never go there again and wouldn't recommend it. read more

I was super exiting to try this location, after reading such great reviews. I arrived at 11:05am (they open at 11:00am) the doors were still locked however I was determined to try this place so I waited. They finally open 11:10am which is fine, I understand. The inside was super cute and spacious. As soon we entered and were seated, we were provided with waters, in very small glasses. After ordering egg rolls, we were informed the fryer wasn't working so we had to do without, which was okay things happen. After waiting super long for our food to come out, they brought the bun bo hue it had hair on the bowl. When I brought it to the servers attention, she grabbed a napkin to take out the hair. I asked her to have it returned to the kitchen and I would be ordering something else. Someone else came out and apologized for the hair and took my new order for a beef pho with rice noodles. The phos were all pretty basic, the flavor of okay. The pork fried rice was really the only reason this place is getting 2 stars, very flavorful (despite it coming out even later -took over an hour). The Vietnamese coffee (came out after the fried rice) was decent, it wasn't as creamy as I would like. Overall, I will not be returning and really don't understand the great reviews. read more

Place is pretty solid. The pho broth is flavorful and good amount of meat and noodles. We also got fried shrimp and nem muon spring rolls. Both really good. Service was so so. One thing to be aware of is to check your bill. They added an extra appetizer and an extra beer to our bill. The lady said it was a mistake but not sure if she was being sincere. I am giving 5 stars but honestly I will never come here again. The Pho Ga was authentic as it comes , rich flavorful broth, nicely spiced ( level 5/10 on the heat scale) as I ordered, and a healthy portion of pretty moist slices of chicken breast. I was seated promptly, my order was taken, and my food and glass of water that I had requested were delivered within about 5 minutes. Unfortunately however , my total came out to $ 19.00 after tax, before tip for a bowl of soup and a glass of tap water. Just based on principle alone I can't pay $19.00 for a bowl of soup even if that's what they have to charge to stay afloat. It was a 5 star bowl of soup though. read more

We wanted to try this place but we didn't even get to order our food yet! We walked in and waited for the older lady to greet us and take our order to go since my husband just had foot surgery. While my husband went to the bathroom I looked at their menu. Then I waited until the older woman finished attending a couple who were paying and then went to get orders from 2 tables. I thought ok maybe she is by herself so at this point we waited 15 min then she came back out and asked us for our order. My husband at this point told her his order then when she came to me she the. Hot side track by going back into the kitchen which we waited another 10 minutes which she NEVER CAME OUT!! Do we decided to go to another PHo place!!! I used to go to this place a lot back then and I tried it again after a few years later. It tastes very different like if they were using cheaper ingredients with the noodles and the soup felt off and I noticed they added pepper on it. Their noodles are good and the steak is okay but the soup changed. Maybe it was a bad day to come in when they are trying something new but it did compare to a lot of the other Pho places. Service is lack lustering being you do have to go up to get service or wave your hand around. The place is very nice though that hasn't changed. read more

My dad and I are regular local customer of Simmering Pho. while the food is good, we have repeatedly noticed inconsistent and inflated charges. I ordered the exact same items in four different visits, yet the total price seemed to change every time. Because of this, I took a photo of the menu on a recent visit. When I was rung up, I politely asked for a receipt. I was told they don't provide receipts, but I could take a photo of it instead. When I reviewed it at home, I noticed my order should have been $16.95, but I was charged $17.95 plus an extra $2.00 for an unexplained charge. After thinking it over, I returned one last time to see if this would happen again. Once again, my bill was over $9 more than it should have been. When I confronted her, she removed $4 from the total. This experience has been extremely disappointing, and I will not be returning. If you choose to eat here, I strongly recommend checking your receipt carefully. This appears to have been happening for quite some time. read more

Having been out of town for decades, we decided to stop by to eat. Times have changed, and there are more shops and places to eat. Simmering Pho Cafe is now on the top of my list for Vietnamese food. Everything we ordered was just delightfully delicious! From the tasty banh mi sandwich (one of the better ones I have had!) to the Summering Bang Xeo (a crisp rice flower Vietnamese pancake folded over and stuffed with bean sprouts and scallions) to a com Bo Luc Lac (shaking filet mignon with steamed rice). All were pretty simply-prepared, meaning the meals were not adulterers with excess seasonings and spices. And lastly, their Cafe Su Da (Vietnamese Iced Coffee) had the proper balance of coffee bitterness and sweetness of the condensed milk - awesome! If there was one problem, it had to be the glass of water. It was HEAVILY chlorinated (typical of restaurants in the area) and HEAVILY minted and HEAVILY lemon'd. I don't know how anyone else feels, but chlorine, lemon and mint just do not mix - stick with bottled water! I have been to many Vietnamese restaurants, albeit many of which catered to the "American" tastes, thereby changing the fundamental taste of traditional Vietnamese cuisine. Not here. For authentic Vietnamese Cuisine, I highly recommend Simmering Pho Cafe! read more

I came here many years ago and it didn't leave a lasting impression, but several years later (today) I've decided to give them another try and I'm glad I did. I ordered the Pho Tai, Duoi Bo (beef pho with oxtail and rare beef) and it was the best pho I've had here in Morgan Hill. The broth was so flavorful. You can tell that they put pride into simmering their broth with beef bone without taking any short cuts. I also ordered the cafe su da (vietnamese iced coffee) and OMG, very strong as it should be. I had to ask for a bit more condensed milk. But nevertheless, made the way it's supposed to be made! Glad to say this will now be my go to place for Pho and Vietnamese food here in town. Tiffany was very helpful in making sure we were ordering food according to our taste. We loved the chicken pho and egg rolls! Food was very tasty and they even a spice level that one can choose to eat. Parking is not an issue since it's a plaza with ample parking. I love how the place is decorative and gives you Vietnam vibes. The tvs are playing street food experiences and/or the Vietnamese culture. You're immersed in the experience. What a gem in Morgan Hill! We've been to so many pho restaurants in the Bay Area, but no other place has offered the level of spiciness for the broth. They use ghost chili and scorpion chili to make the broth spicier and we opted for level 3. We like spicy food and we can definitely try 4 or 5 next time. The owner says level 7 is the spiciest her customers have been able to enjoy. All the veggies were fresh and the noodle was perfectly cooked. Highly recommended! read more
