Expert repair work done quickly and at a reasonable cost--I highly recommend Annapurna!

When one of the dogs knocked a $40 lamp off a table into a floor-to-ceiling leaded glass window, of course it wasn't the lamp that broke. I had no idea whether it would be possible to repair the window or how one might go about it, and figured that if it could be done at all it would cost the earth. I put a piece of clear packing tape over the cracked pane and agonized over it for several years, feeling a little queasy every time I looked at it. I finally got tired of looking at the stupid tape, consulted Yelp (yay!), reviewed the reviews, and contacted Annapurna. We emailed Ed some pictures, he gave us an estimate, we set up an appointment, and he came and fixed our window. It cost far less than I had feared, and it looks perfect. Ed is very very good at what he does, and a really nice guy. Although I hope I never have need of their services again, Annapurna gets my highest recommendation! read more

I would give Ed 10 stars if I could. We're renting a Craftsman with a built-in cabinet with leaded glass doors. Of course we ended up cracking one. We were in a total panic, didn't know whether we could remove the door or if we needed someone to come fix it on site, afraid of the cost, worried we'd done irrevocable damage...Ed talked us through removing the door over the phone, reassured us, and after we dropped it off, proceeded to fix it within a week (even though it was close to Christmas) for a reasonable price. (He also let us know that he could tell it had been broken before, so no need to feel like we were the first to do so--which meant SO much to us, we had been feeling just terrible!) Beautiful job. We'll definitely be going back with any future cracks (which are probably bound to happen, alas, no matter how careful we are). Thank you, Ed, you're both talented and sweet! read more

We recently bought an old home with beautiful stained glass and pane glass windows but many of the pane glass windows needed replacement windows. I called Ed based on his reviews and was not disappointed. Ed is not only incredibly knowledgeable about all things windows and glass but called out what he felt would be the best long term investment for our home and then referred me to a few experts in the window industry that did that scope of work! Finding Annapurna was a complete life-saver for me. I accidentally broke my aunt's very old, rare espresso cup while dusting and was in a panic to figure out how to get the MANY pieces put back together. Ed was a pro and when I saw the finished cup I was shocked how great it looked. (And scared to touch it). His work was better than I could have ever imagined. He even recommended a great restaurant to go to after I picked it up and gave us directions. :) I hope to never have to use Ed's services again. Annapurna Glass definitely provides top notch quality workmanship. Ed, with his wife as his assistant, take personal pride in their work and it shows! They do all kinds of glass work: stained glass, leaded glass, restoration or repair of fine glass, and window repair. Ed is an exceptionally bright person and comes from many backgrounds (teaching, science, electronics, computers...). I think this allows him to "think outside the box" when approaching a project. I have seen some of Ed's inventions he has created to best perform a client's job (yes, he literally invents components and machines). When commissioning art or doing any job, it's important to make sure the lines of communication are open and that one is patient in trying to understand what is desired. Ed is extremely patient and is great is explaining his ideas. I have worked with other glass & window shops in the past, and none come even close to the quality & service Annapurna provides. I wanted to replace the 80's stained glass in my front door with something that looked more craftsman style. I originally went to Seattle Stained Glass in Wallingford but the guy never got back to me with a bid. After following up with him several times and still no bid, I looked for other options. I'm so glad I found Annapurna. Ed came to my house within a couple days and met with me twice to discuss design ideas. He really listened to what I wanted. The project ended up taking longer than planned because he hurt his hand but he kept me updated so I knew what to expect. I wasn't in a hurry so it was no problem. The end result is beautiful! It completely changed the front of my home. Ed did a great job! As an extra benefit, he's a really interesting person to talk to. I could have listened to his stories for hours. read more

This review is long over-due. I am a real estate agent and a few months ago I had a listing in Montlake. During an Open House one of the guests accidentally broke out a pane of leaded glass. I had to get it fixed right away as a taped on piece of cardboard does not fly on a $1 Million listing. I immediately called Seattle Stained Glass and Annapurna Stained Glass in a panic - leaving messages for both. Annapurna called back quickly and understanding the urgency they offered to have the owner come out and repair the pane at the end of his work day. It was a 85 degree day and I'm sure he would have preferred to go home and sit on his desk. He arrived as promised and fixed it perfectly. He was very knowledgeable and the service was fantastic. He came, did the repair, cleaned up beautifully and had been gone for 12 hours before I finally got a call back from the other glass company. Annapurna Glass is the best!! They also do beautifully custom storm windows over leaded panes. I won't use anyone else. read more
