Pleasant surprise on a cold February morning. Kozy spot just off Main St in Stoughton with a Deli within for meals to go! The chili was hearty full of beans served with a variety of fresh crackers on the side. Tuna melt was spot on, perfectly toasted too! Turkey sandwich was a culinary masterpiece! Meggan was a delight & also very knowledgeable. Cute log cabin feeling, warm, clean and friendly! Make your way there because pretty soon no one will go because it's too crowded, lol.

The owner is preaching politics and the food is not worth it. Bathrooms & kitchen are filthy!

I've eaten there several times. Food was average. Can't go there anymore since they do not serve people that support border control.

The food is excellent and the service even better! The ambiance is just okay, it could use a little more decor.

I had the Al Pastor Tacos, and they were excellent. I gobbled them down. The owner was kind and fun. This is just a great cafe.

And it's close to our house. And I drove past it for years. To Koffee Kup. To Pancake Cafe. To Luke's. All great. I didn't go here because in the boys' words it "looked sus". And it does. It looks like a divey bar on the outside. And unsurprisingly it is on the inside too. But What it IS is amazing food wise. Everyone talks about the French toast. Having never had RumChata in a cocktail I can't comment but that toast is OFF THE CHARTS. But so is the biscuits and gravy. A ton of meat. Service is strained but lovely. And when you see what that cook is working with you're even more impressed. A 6'X4' cooking station and you make this? Wow. My only complaint is the bacon. Not great. Not actually good. Worth a drive to Wittenberg to buy cases of odd cut Nueskes and this place is almost James Beard Award worthy. Appearances are deceiving. Do it!

Had the eggs Benedict with crabcakes and steak and it was some of the best hollandaise sauce that I've ever had. The bartenders were top notch and there was never a wait for anything. The decor is squirrels of course , the foot rest a little stumps and the people were friendly. A great place for breakfast.

Visiting Stoughton, someone suggested Deaks for lunch. It was a Monday, a little before noon, when…read morewe arrived. We parked in the lot and were a little confused about where the entrance was. There really isn't a clear "front" door -- you enter through what looks like the back, next to a fenced-off area for the air conditioner. Inside, it feels like a typical pub, with a large bar area, video poker games (not a fan), and several different seating areas. Since it was a nice day, we chose a spot outside (we were the only ones there). We were greeted right away by our server, who brought waters and drinks. The menu has a good selection of items. We ordered the Cowboy Burger (on Texas Toast) and a Steak Quesadilla. It didn't take long for the food to arrive, and everything was hot, flavorful, and served in generous portions. The burger was cooked to a perfect medium. The homemade potato chips were very good and served warm. The tortilla chips were also warm -- a nice touch. The quesadilla had a good amount of filling with the steak, though a few pieces were a little tough or gristly. Overall, it was a satisfying meal, and we had enough leftovers to take home. Overall, a solid lunch spot. Excellent service the entire time (thanks, Colleen). I'd be happy to stop in again.

Both times we were seated right away and by coincidence at the same table. The service was great on both visits. Nancy, who took care of us for the dinner visit was very helpful and attentive. We each ordered different things of which I have added some pictures. We also had appetizers before dinner. I have added some of those pictures as well, a few after we had dug in. I ordered the 10 inch thin crust pizza with pepperoni and sausage for dinner and the Cowboy burger for lunch the next day. There were no complaints from any of us and we enjoyed everything during both visits. The pizza is a think crust which is not what I prefer but it hit the spot and I had a few slices leftover for the hotel. I thought the Cowboy burger was very delicious. The Buffalo chicken dip appetizer was also very tasty. This is a place we would return to again if in the area. They also have slot machines where you can try your luck.

My sister had a bowl of the creamy asparagus soup and the TAB (turkey, apple, and bacon) on GF bread. She got it the recommended way with banana peppers, onions, and spinach. The combination of sweet, savory, and tangy really made this sandwich!! The creamy broth on the asparagus soup was so delicious. The chicken tortilla soup was also really good with a slight kick and huge chunks of chicken. I do wish it was a little less thick (or condensed), but just my preference. Their cheesesteak came with marinara on the side. First time I had one with marinara, but it had great flavor. The steak was juicy and good, but a slightly smaller portion than I expected. I did only get the mini size though. The veggies were sliced extremely thin and it was toasted before the spinach and tomato were added! Service was excellent- extremely kind and very helpful! The inside was gorgeous with the brick, wainscoting, tin ceilings, and local art!! Definitely recommend this quaint little gem in downtown Stoughton.

It's an utter shame how terrible Dane County is about making lake/water space accessible to the public (one thing Chicago does way better than Wisconisn, unfortunately), but Water Street Tavern totally gives me the waterfront dining fix. It's along the river, not the lake, which gives it a bit more of an intimate feel to it. Their outdoor space is absolutely beautiful and I highly recommend checking it out. We came here for our monthly fish fry, never having been here before. We came around 5:30p on a Friday and were told no indoor tables until about 8pm. It was a tad chilly out but we opted for the immediate outdoor table. There is a fireplace out there, but it's more aesthetic than anything, it provided no heat our way but we were find with sweaters. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and super fun to chat with. I wish they had your basic cod on the fish fry menu - and I was surprised they didn't - but I opted for the walleye instead. It's one very large piece but it was pretty good! Crunhcier breading but not excessive. I enjoyed the house old fashioned. I wish they had supper club boozy ice cream dessert drinks, but they don't so I opted for a cocktail as dessert instead. My dining mates got the cheesecake and ate the whole thing. We left around 7:15pm and it was empty inside, not sure what happened there, but either way I'm glad we ended up outside and I will definitely be back here more often now that I've discovered this wonderful place!
