Marrow bread was rich Spring tagliatelle: pasta was excellently cooked (perfect al dente) Octopus patatas bravas: potatoes were nice and crispy. Would have preferred slightly less garlic aioli to enjoy the octopus more Bone-in pork chop: don't normally prefer a large piece of meat, but it was very tender and fat was well rendered. Went to Annette's for dinner - first time. It is cozy - really awesome, lovely environment. Food overall was very good but over-priced for the amount served (very small portions). The server was not overly attentive -- I nver received a drink though I asked for it twice. The bill came and it was not itemized so I have no idea if I was charged for the drink or not. My big beef with the restaurant is the card they give you at the end of the meal. It states that they charge a 4% service fee on every check. The card says they give this to patrons in the interest of transparency. Well -- transparency would be giving the card at the start of the meal. The info is on their website under "info" but not on the menu (that I could find). The dinner menu does state: "for parties of 6 or more, an automatic gratuity of 20% will be added". If the restaurant builds in a 4% tip to "provide a living wage" and "...higher wages for our employees and toward benefits like health insurance and paid time off", then patrons are likely to tip less --- which is what we did. We tip for food quality and service when going to a restaurant. If you want to build in tip (say 15-20%) to provide a living wage for servers/workers -- then put that on your website, tell patrons when they sit down, and put on the menu, etc. ... then tell patrons they do not need to tip unless exceptionally pleased with their meal/service. We found out about the built in service fee at the end of the meal -- which left a bad taste in my mouth. Also, every bill should be itemized --- in the interest of transparency. read more

I get the hype around Annette and can see why they were a James Beard winner. I came to Annette for a work dinner and the waitress recommended that our group of 3 order 4-5 shareable plates. We went with the following: fries, roasted maitakes + kohlrabi, butternut squash malfadine, and sunchoke gratin. A friend had highly recommended the Annette burger, which I ordered as an entree. All of these dishes were DELICIOUS - the unexpected combination of ingredients really made all of them stand out. If I HAD to pick my favorite, it would definitely be the roasted maitakes + kohlrabi. I also loved housemade grape soda. I would love to try their seedlip drink the next time I go back! Hot tips: Annette rotates their menu so you will probably have something new the next time you go. We had brunch in our own private outdoor greenhouse and it was perfect! Everything was sanitized before we came and we had an hour to eat. It wasn't a leisurely brunch but that's ok...the food was great and it was nice to still go out to eat during COVID. My partner and I are both shorties, so the greenhouse was perfect for us. It's not very tall, so our tall servers and staff warned us a bunch to watch our heads! The food tastes like it's made with love and they put a ton of thought into the flavors and presentation. We planned a special evening last week end trying to miss the Valentines Day rush. My error in Google reservations was overlooked, and we were seated in spite of myself. The service was spot on, seated in one of the small greenhouses outside. We enjoyed our meal immensely, all of our choices were tasty and beautifully prepared. The small plate format allowed for many wonderful items including:PEI oysters, Grouper bouillabaisse and the ginger molasses, bay leaf ice cream sandwich. I was in in town for a few days for meetings, and after going to a place near my hotel, I was disappointed. The next night, I ventured farther out and found Annette, and I'm so glad I did. Sitting by myself at the bar, Taryn, one of the bartenders asked me what I wanted, and I said, "Surprise me." She did, making me a Mezcal drink that was great, and she followed that up with something even more terrific. For dinner, I ordered the Butter Lettuce and Tarragon Salad and the House Mafaldine Pasta, which I had never heard of. Each was outstanding. On my final night in Denver, I didn't take any chances and went straight to Annette once again. And once again, I was impressed. This time with the Mafaldine along with the Mussels and Toast. Plenty of toast to soak in the really flavorful broth - the mussels were pretty good, too! Plus, the atmosphere was really friendly - I made friends with just about everyone I talked to. The manager, Dan, was as friendly and generous as can be (I wish Dan a speedy recovery!) Matt, a person who knows his sakes, wines, and whiskeys, shared some of that knowledge with me, which I remember - sort of. Annette is located in Aurora's Stanley Marketplace which means there is plenty of parking and that's always a plus.  The atmosphere of the restaurant is very pleasant, contemporary and casual. The space is not very big, and with Covid, there are even fewer tables inside so it's recommended that you get a reservation if you want to eat at that popular spot. They've added a yurt and heated little greenhouses outside to make up for the lost seating indoors. When we went for dinner recently, the place was busy but service was still impeccable. The menu is fairly limited and a little on the expensive side for some of the dishes that are quite small.  This is a shared plates kind of place (except for a very few items) and our waitress recommended we get about two per person, which seems about right. There is a nice selection of craft cocktails and beers as well as wines by the bottles (and a just few by the glass).  I started with the delicious ödmjuk, a house cocktail with aquavit, earl grey, dill and lemon.  We munched on their spiced nuts to start and they were fine, but I don't know why the menu says nuts when it's just peanuts. The food is creative, beautifully presented and seasonal. Some of the wood-fired dishes have a wood smoke taste that I love, and while overall the plates we ate were good, some worked better than others. I really liked the Sunchoke Gratin and the See Island Red Peas with Cauliflower but my husband was disappointed with the Grilled Beef Tongue that comes with bone marrow toasts.  He could not see or taste any bone marrow. For dessert, I was excited to see a Paris-Brest on the menu, so had to order it.  It's beautiful, and looks like one, but it is nothing like the original.  I understand if the pastry chef want to tweak it a bit and give his personal touch, but the main ingredient is buttercream, and this one felt more like whipped cream, huge disappointment for me!  My husband was more lucky with his pecan pie. Since the Covid situation Annette has done a great job advertising to go items on IG. The last few Sundays I log on to toast at 855am and wait to try to get their Kolaches. I wish you could get more than 2 but I get why they do it this way. I always get a sweet and savory. My fav is the lemon curd it's not like anything else... I got the strawberry lemon on Mother's Day and wasn't my fav. Also have gotten their Chicken Salad and English Muffin pack I wish they had this more often it makes more than 3 sandwiches and is awesome for lunch. Stanley Market place is my go to place to bring family when they fly in to DIA. Every place else had an hour or more wait but Annette we got sat straight away. With Covid they are only seating outdoors but it was shaded and really nice. Everything is made from scratch here so the food is absolutely delicious. The food as always was spectacular. The whole grilled fish was incredible. The burger is so so flavorful. Start with the hard boiled eggs and you won't be upset. The only thing that I didn't love was the sunchoke gratin. And the greenhouses are so cute- but with Denver weather, it was just too cold to eat outside. Our heater never went above 53. We had two blankets after having to beg for extra and kept our jackets and mittens on. Sit inside if you're comfortable doing that or go for brunch during the day when it's warmer. read more

When deciding where to take my husband for his 40th Birthday I was really hitting walls. Can't have a party, going out of town was not much of an option either. After some some research I came across this place and their greenhouse dinners, intrigued. First, didn't even realize it was in the Stanley Market place which is one of my favorite places to go. The greenhouse was small but cozy and super fun. My husband loved the idea and was pleasantly surprised how cool it was. Each greenhouse comes with a space heater and blankets if needed but once the door is closed it warms up quickly. The food was pretty good as well! My only complaint on the food was for the price, there wasn't a lot. When paying high prices for food I want to leave satisfied full. Just left feeling there could have been...more. With that said the pork tenderloin was so tender and delicious! The Annette burger was tasty! We all agreed the mushrooms were by far our favorite dish and we wished we had ordered 2 of those. I was honestly surprised with how unique the menu was, each plate brought pleasure to my taste buds. Loved the concept of each party getting their own "greenhouse ". Each house has a heater and they offer blankets as well. They completely disinfect btwn each use. In addition to the Covid modifications they also serve great food! This is a tapas place so we ordered several dishes. We started with the chicken liver pate served with blueberry mustard- it was to die for!! The gnocchi and the mushrooms dishes were also good. We didn't really care for the charred endive salad- too bitter and honestly a small serving. Next was sunchoke gratin - big serving and my family loved it (I thought so-so). We've been here several times and been happy. Last night stood out as the best. The food and service was excellent. The succotash and Nardello peppers were stand out dishes. The flavors were fantastic and instantly captivating. The other nice service element was the server brought two wines by the glass to taste directly to the table. Typically at most restaurants they might go back to the bar. Someone fills some glasses. Someone brings them over. They leave. You taste, and then they come back. He brought the bottles and the glasses and talked us through the different wines and waited while we tasted and picked. It might be less efficient than the other method but it was a much more enjoyable experience and a much higher level of service. It's been a while since I got off my bum and actually went in to a restaurant to eat; it seems I'm more likely to do so in the summer months. But I'm so glad I came out today, Annette's is nothing short of a refreshing surprise! The male host here tonight is absolutely charming (and not to mention super cute! haha), and greeted me as soon as I walked through the door. He seated me right away, and I got the booth of my choice. The place is really tiny, however, so don't expect to come here with a large party. The food choices were slim (I think there were about 3 happy hour lunch entrees and a couple of "appetizers"), but what I got was delicious! The deviled eggs were perfect, and I'm really picky about deviled eggs (see previous reviews, lol), and the first drink I ordered really set the mood! (Note: I went with the Autumn In Alba, which has scotch in it, but isn't too "taste" heavy.) For my entree, I ordered the Steak Frites, and it came out really fast and really hot. My server Kayla was not only really pretty, but really attentive, and I appreciated that. Would love to have her again the next time I'm in! In fact, the entire team's performance tonight was just immaculate. It will be hard to find better service elsewhere. This place: 9/10 would recommend! (I really wish their menu had a bigger selection than just 3 or 4 items, hence 9 and not 10.) If you haven't been to Annette you must go.  I most recently had the pleasure of having brunch in a private greenhouse on a beautiful Sunday in December. Their menu is simple but that is exactly the magic that everyone must experience first hand.  My shared meal consisted of the Earl grey yogurt and pear butter, Egg Salad Toast and while I wasn't able to try their newest menu addition, the Bombonlini  (they weren't making them that day),  I was able to snag one of their honey, pistachio + cream cheese kolaches before they were sold out. The greenhouse was equipped with heater and a light to signal the server in case we needed anything. We did have an hour limit to our reservation in the greenhouse so just make sure you arrive on time so you can enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. read more

This is, by far, my favorite burger in the world. It is perfectly sized, seasoned, sauced, and bunned. I can't speak to anything else on the menu, because I've only had the burger. My only reason for not giving them 5 stars is because take out can be complicated. We've had trouble with online ordering saying they're not accepting take out orders on random (likely busy) nights, but if we show up and place an order for burgers to go, they're okay with it. With 2 littles, we can't enjoy a dine-in experience, and we like when ordering take out is simple, and doesn't involve waiting around because we had to order in person. read more

Chef Caroline is a gem and her food and dedication to her craft shine bright. Annette is a lovey space, it's inviting, familiar, and will deliver joy and goodness to all of your senses. They offer up wood fired, casual-fine dining that's always exceptional. While we have become regulars and enjoy their sweet happy hour, as well as brunch, and big feasts with friends and family-- I will say that my very first glance of their menu left me feeling a bit bored and uninterested. And I've heard this before from people I respect as foodies. BUT-- once you take a seat and the food starts coming you will be licking plates clean. Chef Caroline and her crew are making some Delish food! From the simple popcorn, to the masterful French fries I was sold. Now I crave the chicken and drool just thinking about the whole fish. Her salads are bright and flavorful, and her desserts are from scratch goodness. From top down the service is top notch. You will be made to feel welcome every moment you dine, happy hour, drink, or just stop by for dessert. Great option at Stanley. When I go there I tend to be overwhelmed by the carb options and don't see enough healthy options there, but then, Annette happened. I went for a lunch by myself and was greeted so nicely at the host stand. I was convinced that wearing jean and a cute top wasn't going to be nice enough, because if this same place was in LA, you would not dress like I was. But I still forget that Colorado is much more casual. My server was outstanding and we both agreed that the cocktail part of the menu was the place to start with my order. I don't remember what I got but honestly it was just okay. A little too smoky for me, but that's the rage right now.... I don't get it. But if I liked smoky drinks, then this would have been a good one! (Hell, I don't like smoky and I still finished the thing with no problem.) I decided to order the octopus sandwich... because ---why not? I can't order octopus just anywhere. It was delicious! I worried the texture might be rubbery because sometimes people don't cook it right, but it was perfect! The aioli or whatever was on it had an excellent kick too! Plus, it came with a side of arugula/rocket! I swear I am pretty darn happy anytime people don't just throw down some romaine or (gasp) iceberg lettuce. Rocket was the perfect bitter compliment to the spicy and texture of the sandwich. I tried to get my husband to go with me a few days later but he too thought we might be underdressed for the place, because we had just come from something that we dressed down for. Annette... Tsk... Tsk...Tsk.. ** BE WARNED : LENGTHY REVIEW ** I am indeed very torn about Annette... With a last minute reservation, I managed to get seats for my friends and I to have Dinner here. It was on a Tuesday evening. Time was about 19:00hrs ish. Once we arrived, we were given the seats which was on the extreme left of the establishment. The backdrop wall is filled with paper/fabric that looks like sail or resemble some kind of water or "wave" form. Man this establishment is so tiny inside, but when weather permits, you are able to seat outside aka patio seats are available. The décor and setting is pretty and the ambience are cool. Modern and airy. But since this establishment is tiny, they tend to cramp a lot of seating inside. From their simple "short" menu, apparently they do not offer some items which are features some weeks ago. Hence they changed their menu regularly. So plan accordingly. I was a little bumped and saddened by those but oh well... Hence we decide to share some items and from what I could recall we ordered these : Shared Items : * Deviled Eggs ($3) * Asparagus + Burrata ($12) * Fries ($7) * Grilled Carrots + Peas ($9) * Grilled Beef Tongue and Marrow Toast ($16) * Octopus Potatoes Brava ($17) * Whole Roasted Fish ($39) My friends opt to also order some alcoholic drinks such as Blueberry Mint Tonic ($5) and Dusk till Dawn ($12) as part of their beverages. Now about the food. SUPER Tiny portions, and DEFINITELY Expensive to some. The first dish presented to our table was the Deviled Eggs. The Deviled Eggs are decent. The Deviled eggs only comes in 1 and its cut into 2. Sprinkled with lots of chives and a dollop of some spicy tomatoes paste of some kind. The next dish was the Octopus with Yukon Potatoes. This dish is indeed misleading. For one, its OVERLOADED with Yukon Potatoes NOT Octopus. **INSERT : Sad Face Here** The actual part of Octopus that is being used in this dish is Octopus tentacles. The Octopus tentacles are cut into tiny portions. Just an OK dish. The third dish was Asparagus + Burrata "salad". The Asparagus, Burrata comes with Fried Lentils, Watercress and Mint vinaigrette. This salad is indeed refreshing. But the Burrata are actually dollops of Burrata NOT chunks of Burrata. There are ONLY 3 spears of Asparagus. There are ONLY 3 fried lentils and the bulk of this salad is the watercress. The fourth dish are the beef tongues. Yes the presentation looks pretty but those beef tongues are not so tender as we were hoping for. Once again, there are dollops of pickled radish of mustard seeds and cuts of chives. The Marrow toast is loaded with so much butter rather than the taste of marrow itself. With the Spread of Marrow its mixed with parsley. I so wish, they could just present the REAL BONE MARROW itself in which we don't mind paying. Then we could scoop the BONE MARROW to our hearts content, but for this case, Annette present it on a toast... While waiting for our FISH to be ready, and we are STILL HUNGRY, we decide to order the Carrots and Fries. Once again, those Carrots are the super tiny carrots which they have to cut diagonally and 10 snap peas. The Grilled "baby" aka super tiny carrots, plate is mixed with cilantro and orange spiced cream of some kind. The flavors are just ok. Nothing stood out. My friend who sat on my right, likes the fries coz she is the kind of girl who likes to eat fries whenever she goes out or when they are offer it in the menu. The fries are decent though some seems to be over-fried or over-cooked aka slightly burned. Now for the grand "finale", the WHOLE ROASTED FISH. This dish comes with Calabrian chili, almonds, cauliflower and watercress. THANK GOD, THE WHOLE ROASTED FISH save the day! Hence this 3 stars "GENEROUS" review. But for a price tag of $39, for a WHOLE ROASTED FISH that is smaller than my arm that is like "day light robbery". The fish is roasted perfectly. Just nice. NOTE to Kitchen Staffs or Server, for patrons who order the fish dish. It would be nice if disposable wet napkins to be provided when ordering fish dish but during that evening it was not given or provided let alone wedges of lemons. The service from everyone aka servers and staffs are indeed stellar. But once again, another establishment in town which is OVER-HYPED and SUPER EXPENSIVE with tiny portions to boot. I may return if next time they can offer that elusive item in their menu which is currently no longer being offered. My only issue is I've tried coming for brunch and stopping by when I'm at Stanley and asked for Bombolinis and they had stopped making them for a while and then they were back!! I've missed them every time - keep them coming- I can't wait to try one. I've been anxious to go here, but the night I tried to come here after the airport, they didn't have a reservation for 2 until 9:45. That was too late for us, so we took a chance and just stopped in. The entrance wasn't very well marked, but its right off the main parking lot. We got the last 2 seats at the bar which was a fun place to sit. The food was great! We did order dessert, but noticed that other servers took more time to explain the dessert menu than our server did. We made a good choice though! read more

TLDR: really great menu and cocktails. It's attached a larger food court type area so it can be pretty busy and parking is terrible, but this place makes up for it. Service: really lovely, cool, kind, people. Food: I ordered the hash and shared the waffle with a friend and they were both great dishes. I'm a big sweet tooth and the waffle really really hit the spot. read more

My cousin and I popped in for lunch today and the first thing to greet you aside from the friendly staff is the warm smell of a wood burning oven. Being from Colorado this is a smell that I can never get enough of, so many good memories. The space is smaller but well designed. We started with the deviled eggs which were tangy and delicious. I also appreciate that the menu is limited; I don't think more choices is necessarily a good thing and lets the kitchen focus on making a few things great. Today I sampled the arugula and millet salad that came with all sorts of hidden surprises. One bite had a little pickled lemon, another bite sweet dates, another bite avocado. I totally appreciate food that gives you a different taste profile in different bites. My cousin got the pork sandwich that came with fries. We asked for a side of garlic aioli and that took fantastic fried and elevated them that much more. Service was quick and friendly proving that this is a great restaurant to have at the Stanley Marketplace. read more

I love annettes. Idk if it's because we always come with our friends who are good friends with the owner. The service is amazing, theyre attentive and kind. The food is always fresh, seasonal and vibrant. I love the chef and her mission to bring good food to the table and give her employees a living wage. You can tell the staff here is happy to be here. Get the burger. You will not be disappointed. Get the fries omg. The beef tongue is amazing. The drinks are fabulous. Everything about annettes is top notch! It's a good thing we don't live super close or we'd be here a minimum of once a week. read more
