On the recommendation of a patient, I went o Officer's club on a Thursday to try their fish and chips daily special. The fish and chips were spectacular with or without the mustard remoulade (which is also good with it). The chips (fries) with their Garlic aioli is always good too. Unfortunately, this is where the good review ends. I enjoy Officer's club immensely and have the goof fortune of having dined here numerous times. This is why at this particular visit, the bad service stood out! My waitress never came back to check on me even to refill my water. I had to catch another waiter's attention to ask for water and to put in my dessert order. The waiter promptly told me that I could always just grav one of the waitstaff's attention if I needed anything. I had figured that if my absentee waitress was going to go on break or leaving (she had alerted me on neither) that she would have at least relayed my table to be tended to by somone else. 5 stars on the food, but an abyssmal 1 star for the service; evening out to 3 stars. read more

Snacks (which some are meals) range from $5 to $11, and drinks include $2 off draft beers & wine by the glass, HH $9 wine, $7 Martinis, and $9 cocktails. A purist, I went with a traditional, slightly dirty vodka martini. You can't go wrong for $7. Sat at the copper-hued bar and was well cared for by the bartenders. First visit to this restaurant in my neighborhood. Kale salad was good, though short on other listed ingredients. Main course: salmon was good, but risotto was bland and tasteless. Cubes of beets in it did not add flavor. Dessert: blondie with ice cream: the blondie itself was barely cooked: outside firm, inside the consistency of applesauce. My wife and I stopped by The Officers Club on Monday evening to enjoy happy hour. We've visited many times over the years and have often brought family and friends from out of town because we've always enjoyed the restaurant. After asking the waitstaff if we could sit at the bar, we were told yes. As we sat down, we made eye contact with the bartender, Christina. I said, "Good to see you again," but received no greeting or acknowledgment. Instead, while looking directly at us, she said, "Don't bring me any more tickets." When I asked, "Excuse me?" she responded, "I wasn't talking to you." The bar had not yet been cleaned, so I began moving a few items to make room. Christina told me not to, saying she would take care of it. She quickly wiped the bar with what appeared to be a dirty rag, placed two glasses of water in front of us without saying hello or welcoming us, and walked away. The interaction was so uncomfortable and unwelcoming that we decided to leave without ordering anything. This was one of the most unpleasant hospitality experiences I've had in a long time. A bartender sets the tone for the guest experience, and unfortunately Christina created an atmosphere that made us feel unwelcome from the moment we sat down. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. We've always enjoyed The Officers Club and would like to continue recommending it, but experiences like this make that difficult read more

The worst restaurant experience I've ever had. To be chased into the parking lot because we left a tip reflecting subpar service is absolutely insane. Tips are earned, not mandatory.. First off, we only found this place because of the Denver dining passbook, and we're so glad we did. The service was impeccable, everyone was very welcoming, courteous, and professional. We started with the bursts, which is usually a go to for us, this one was elevated in that it included marinated tomatoes and cantaloupe, which were delicious. Their menu isn't massive, but they have plenty of options, I enjoyed the prime rib and my wife enjoyed the salmon risotto. We are not alcohol drinkers and so always appreciate when there are mocktails available, and this restaurant has several specialty non-alcoholic drinks, the one we tried, the blood orange bubbly, was delicious. This restaurant gives special occasion vibes but we didn't feel out of place even though we were dressed slightly more casually. Wheelchair accessibility: we didn't see any accessible parking spots where you didn't have to cross the parking lot including a traffic lane to get to the entrance. The bathrooms are spacious with grab bars, but the bathroom doors are incredibly heavy. It looks like it would be a simple adjustment to change the closing force which would greatly improve the accessibility. We were given a complimentary appetizer of veggies. We ordered a pair of coke products. We shared the Caesar salad and artichoke appetizers. We went on to share a larger portion of the prime rib with mashed potatoes and carrots. I felt the meat was a lot more tough than I hoped for. When spending over a hundred bucks on a night out, I had higher expectations for the food. It was the reason for one minus star. I would not recommend getting the prime rib or the Caesar salad. If I were to come back, the coke products might be the only items worth ordering again. With all that being said, this establishment still gets 4 of 5 stars from me. We ordered two cocktails, both of which we really enjoyed. For food, we had the short rib stroganoff and the southern buttermilk fried chicken tenders. The pasta in the stroganoff were actually very wide noodles and I thought it was a creative take. As for the short rib itself, it was sooo tender and delicious. The chicken was very crispy and cooked well - not too dry. It came with a salad, fries, and a variety of salads. If you look at the picture, it's a BIG plate. The exterior does not lead one to expect much, but this is a combination of a piano bar, a pseudo- sophisticated dinery, and your favorite indoor-outdoor eatery. The menu has a superb variety of choices, even for the picky vegetarian. - except in the entrees. I chose to forego starters and salads, which was a mistake, and chose the only non-meat sandwich/entree, the grilled cheese and tomato bisque. I don't know many people who could eat that much soup and sandwich! It was unfortunate that the chef chose to sprinkle mushriom slices on top of and inside the sandwich so that they fell out on being picked up the first time. It was good, but not as an entree. The bisque was thick and lovely - just about twice as much as could be consumed together with the huge sandwich. I suspect that the cutsey greens placed on top of the bisque were just an attempt to appear to be au courant. The crudite did not measure up to the menu. The service was excellent and plentiful. Definitely one of my top dining experiences in Denver so far! My friend Bobby and I headed here for happy hour, and we ended up staying for a few hours. The burger itself was so juicy and flavorful, complimented perfectly by the fries and its sauces. Love the wait staff here and the transparency behind their employee wages. Attentive customer service and just a relaxed vibe of being silly and sweet, as other reviews have stated. Plenty of parking in the lot if you drive. So long as the weather is nice, I'll keep wanting to sit outside, but the inside (especially sitting at the bar) needs to be experienced too. Even when it got busy later in the evening, we never felt rushed. For our apps we ordered the smoked salmon, cheddar biscuits, and the burrata caprese. If I had to eliminate one I wouldn't even be able to bc they were all outstanding.
