Vanilla date latte - a must
    Sarah-Bradley D.

In love with this new coffee shop. I got the vanilla date latte, which was one of the best coffees I've had in awhile. We couldn't resist the baked goods, so we got the coconut passion fruit cake, which was so light and almost refreshing for a dessert. We also tried the sticky bun, which was a little richer but equally delicious. The space itself is so cute. There isn't a ton of indoor seating, but they do have a few outdoor two-tops. The staff also couldn't have been kinder. Can't wait to go back!

Wow! The sweetest little bake shop! We arrived on a rainy Saturday and saw a line out the door - don't let that deter you! It moves quickly! The offer a variety of sandwiches, sweets and coffee. We ended up with 3 slices of cake. Coconut Carrot Chocolate strawberry Honestly I can't even begin to pick one that was a favorite. They were all excellent. Can't wait to visit again.

Annie Mae's Bakery has a cozy atmosphere and friendly service. The pastries were delicious, but not notable, and it was disappointing that their popular chicken salad sandwich was already sold out around 10 a.m. If you're going for that, definitely arrive early, as it is a great place to check out!

I was so excited to visit this place and I was not disappointed. The atmosphere was adorable from the decor, merch, restrooms. There is no parking on site. The chicken salad sandwich that is served with chips on the side is a must try for $16. prices were very reasonable. The line moved quickly and service was great. I cannot wait to return and try a dessert next time.

Some of the best coffee downtown - period!! She has fun flavors like pistachio and salted caramel. The pie is absolutely fantastic. The decor and presentation of the shop is just adorable. My new go-to spot downtown!

Banoffee Matcha Latte w/ Oat Milk

TLDR: If you are looking for drinks (especially matcha), look elsewhere. Disappointed overall. Annie Mae's Bakeshop looked very promising from the outside. It's beautifully designed and very aesthetic. We ordered a pastry (peach sticky bun), a sandwich (egg salad), and two matcha lattes (regular and banoffee w/oat milk). To start on a positive note, the food was genuinely good and came out quick. The pastry and sandwich were enjoyable and felt well made. Unfortunately, the drinks were a completely different experience. While ordering, I asked whether the matcha came sweetened or unsweetened, and the response I received was, "I don't really drink matcha," which honestly left me a bit confused rather than answering the question. Once the drinks arrived, both matchas were some of the weakest I've had in the city. They did come unsweetened, which normally wouldn't be an issue, but they also lacked almost any real flavor. The regular oat milk matcha tasted watered down, and the banoffee matcha, despite the cold foam, only had the faintest artificial banana flavor. The appearance didn't help either. The matcha was unusually pale, and there were noticeable clumps of unsifted powder settled at the bottom of the cups. For drinks at this price point, the quality was extremely underwhelming. For nearly $50 total, the experience felt disappointing. I we didn't even bother finishing the drinks because they simply weren't enjoyable. If you're visiting for pastries or food, this may still be worth trying. But if you're specifically looking for quality matcha or specialty drinks, there are definitely better options in the city.

this place is so adorable! nice workers, gorgeous atmosphere, and not too expensive. $8.34 for the vanilla date iced matcha with oat milk. i'd give it a 6/10! i need to come back and try the food.

A hidden gem in Charleston! Most definitely worth the wait for any of their pies and the buttermilk biscuit with honey & jam (15/10!) I paired with a pistachio butter latte (made by Lance STELLAR) everything was so good and top notch. The decor and vibe of this shop is definitely movie worthy - If you want great coffee, pastries and PIES made from scratch don't miss this spot right next to king st downtown!

All the pastries are beautifully done! Since we came in for breakfast so we had a blueberry scone which was excellent, not the pies or cakes, though very tempting! We'll have to come back later and try the cakes

Absolutely amazing!! Long line was well worth it. The maple sausage egg and cheese biscuits were to die for, never had a better biscuit! We also tried the pistachio and raspberry sticky bun, coconut cake, strawberry chocolate cake, and key lime pie, all of which were some of the best we've had. Iced salted caramel latte was also amazing and will definitely be coming back to try other flavors!! The inside is absolutely adorable and has such a good vibe. 10/10 will be returning several times

The shop is super cute inside. And it smelled absolutely delicious. I love the way that they had everything laid out for you to see. And the ladies that worked there were very sweet and answered any questions that we had. I like that when you start to tell them what you want they have a cake plate that they put your items on and then they'll box it up at the end. It just had a really special feel to the service of how they treat you there. Now let's get into the sweet treats. I bought a chocolate chip cookie, a oatmeal raisin cookie and a ginger molasses cookie. They were all delicious, but that oatmeal raisin cookie was amazing. I also got too many cupcakes. I did the vanilla blueberry and the honey. Both were very good. And I got a pecan brownie. I loved the pecan brownie! My only problem with the brownie is that it's so small. I would love for them to make them bigger for the price, but absolutely delicious. I love that none of the sweets tasted too sweet. They were perfectly balanced. I recommend checking out the spot. It will definitely satisfy your sweet tooth.

We were visiting my mother-in-law in the hospital, so we shared with her and visiting family, I will talk about the ones I did try. The chocolate croissant was textbook with a shine on the pastry itself and loads of thin crispy layers and just the right amount of dark chocolate. The Weltons Honey Pie was one of their signature items that they traveled to South America to learn how to make. It reminded me of a light honey flavored cheesecake but denser. The dark chocolate chip cookie will live on in my dreams! Plenty of dark chocolate chips in a thick lightly chewy cookie and sprinkle with sea salt. Oh my! I could eat a dozen easy! Switching to savory we tried the Hot Honey croissant with Soppressata , ricotta and hot honey. Like all their croissants it was super crispy and flaky and reminded me of an Italian sandwich. A great choice if you aren't wanting sweet. But for my wife and I our favorite was the blueberry kolache. Loaded with blueberries and a brown sugar cornmeal crumb it simple melted in our mouths. I have been told their coffee is amazing and the other pictured goodies got rave reviews from my family members. If you have a Charleston food bucket list add this place immediately!

Since we were there 2.5 hours before closing, there didn't seem to be a lot of cake options available, but my husband and I decided to share a slice of the s'mores cake with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream to make it à la mode. The s'mores cake was a chocolate cake with mini marshmallows, chocolate fudge, graham crackers, and more marshmallows. The cake was good and had everything I could ever want in it, but it was a little dry. I think this also had to do with it being the end of the night. The ice cream complemented the flavor well. It would have been better with a second scoop of ice cream though. Service was great! It took about 10 minutes from when we ordered to get our dessert.
