Cute sign on the porch at Annie's Cafe.

My wife and I went to Annie's Cafe on 12/11/25 for lunch. It is a small casual place run by several wonderful women. At first we sat outside but moved inside when a table became available as it got too cold out there. My wife ordered a large hamburger with fried mushrooms and I got a BLT and onion rings. The food was great. We also liked several cute signs that they had around the place. Our server was excellent, very friendly and attentive. We had a good time there.

Definitely 5 stars. The team was so warm and friendly. Felt like we were hanging out at a friend's home. We really enjoyed breakfast out on the deck with water vie. I had a delicious blackened grouper with grits and a biscuit special, which was amazing and a great way to mix up breakfast proteins. Very kid-friendly as well.

Great spot on the way into cedar key - outdoor seating on the deck or screened in porch (dogs welcome on deck) and I door seating as well Grouper sandwich was delicious as was my side of steamed cabbage and corn nuggets! Yum!! They offer a buddy burger for dogs as well

I arrived in Cedar Key on a late August weekend without a plan....I ended up here at Annie's my first afternoon on a recommendation with local clam and oyster icon Capt Bobby. We sat out outside (on the screened porch) and Kelly promptly greeted us. She was friendly and attentive. Since I'm on vacation, and they have Rolling Rock, I opted for that - not easily found anymore! Light and crisp for a hot summer day. A few options were not available and Kelly suggested not going with a couple either.... Capt Bobby had a burger! I heard the burgers were good, but I wanted something seafood/fish related...so instead I ended up with the flounder sandwich on Kelly's recommendation. It came with a side, Cole slaw but I couldn't resist getting a side of hush puppies as well. I have had really good hush puppies in my time... but these were hands down, the best hush puppies on the planet. Light and fluffy, super flavorful. YUM! I could have just eaten a couple of orders of those. But my flounder sandwich was really good too, fresh. Great choices for my first meal in town. I ate the whole thing. I was so full, I couldn't eat anything else the rest of the day/night!

Western Omelet. Make sure you order the sausage gravy fasgoes quickly! quickly!

We came to spend the weekend at Cedar Key, and Annie's definitely has the best breakfast by far! You'll want to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful estuary island view. Service was fast and with a great big smile

I had heard about this restaurant from friends so this was one of my main reasons for visiting Cedar Key. As other yelpers have said, it's a quaint, charming, restaurant that has character. It has two patio areas and is right on the wat3wr which I found relaxing. I came at 11:40, and alas, I missed the world-famous brunch by 10 minutes. I was bummed, but the waitress told me they still served grits as a side and I heard those were some of the best so I did get those. From the lunch menu I opted for a fried grouper sandwich with a side of okra (cooked well done because I like them crispy) and grits. The sandwich is served open-faced with onion, tomato, lettuce and homemade tarter sauce. The grouper was fresh out the grease and well-battered. It wasn't heavy or greasy, but was mild and fresh. Plus you get like four pieces of it! The grits did indeed live up to expectations and being from Alabama, I'm pretty hard to please. The okra though, somehow wasn't cooked. I found that odd. I only ate two or three pieces. The kitchen is an open kitchen and on this particular day there were all women in both the front and back of the house. You see them preparing by hand literally each dish over a hot grill. It's an impressive sight! I'll def be back

Food was great. Wait staff rude and incompetent, can't get coffee refills, and for a breakfast place, this is absurd.

Add a half booth, you know, the time with a bench on one side and chairs. On the other where we were presented with 2 coffee mugs and asked if we wanted anything to drink While we looked at the menu, we told the host that we will order shortly. So she said okay and left. Upon looking around, we noticed that several tables were empty. But still dirty, and then we looked at our coffee mugs, and saw that they were dirty. So when our waitress showed up within a couple of minutes we asked for new cups And some coffee, and as soon as she came back to the table, she just poured coffee into 2 new cups without us. Even looking at them and then given a few more minutes to place a order We noticed that the table beside us was starting to get cleaned then they left without taking the dishes, we thought that was kinda odd being that my friend and I were previous restaurant owners ourselves what we understand that people get busy and then about 5 minutes later, the person came back and finished up the table. And at that time we placed our order Of which I ordered a special that they were running at the time. Mine was a italian type sandwich, and she ordered a taco neal without avocado, the food arrived not too long after we were there presented to us in a decent manner. They both looked good but to our surprise, both of our meals were pretty bland and the aforementioned coffee that was given to us had a very burnt, bitter taste to it. So we both decided to just drink our lemon water which the limits for the most part and her bowl of fruit, whether the best tasting options that we were given. Because my Italian sandwich was bland and the chorizo on the sausage are in the sauce was very overpowering. And I really would like to have enjoyed my sandwich but it was bland and almost tasteless. It did look good as did my friends breakfast tacos, she told me that the best part of it was the fruit bowl to help take away the taste in her mouth from it, i like trying different things whenever I go to a First Watch when I go. But this one did not seem to match the expectation that I've had at others I've been to And lastly, as with a lot of restaurants these days, as we were opening straws And discarding napkins and putting in a nice pile for the waitress to take away, it sat there until after we were done with our meal. Typically when you go to a table and you're asking questions and credibility with customers, you would clear away any trash and stuff around them if you can And do anything you can to comfort your customer other than that the waitress was attentive, just in my opinion, not awake yet, I don't know if they had a bad weekend or what but this is not what you would want. At a higher end breakfast place, I may try it again in the future. And see if they get their stuff together, in my opinion, or I may just go to another and see how they compare.
