I am so sad to write this review, we were so excited to try this newer highly rated locally owned restaurant in town and just walked out having a horrible experience. Dan was our server and hardly checked on us after checking all of the other tables in our area several times. We were short a table setting and my poor husband waited until his food was cold before getting a fork! We ate our entire meal with empty coffee & water cups. My husband got the Winston Churchill, I got the country fried steak & my son got pancakes. The food was ok, the restaurant it self was clean & new looking and they tried to have a fun & happy atmosphere. The servers, the hosts & the owners took turns dancing but frankly it was a packed house with a Saturday morning rush, had my server paid more attention to his customers rather than entertainment I think we would have enjoyed our dining experience more & the restaurant would have gotten a better review. When the girl checking us out at the front closed out my bill asked how it was, I told her it was my first time and I did not have a good experience. She then preceded to awkwardly wait for the tip & didn't even try to apologize, ask what had happened or ever try to remediate the situation. I hope that this was an isolated incident because I would like to see more mom and pop restaurants survive the Temecula market. Tip: we got the "fried bread" advice = don't do it! It was literally deep fried toast bread that was dripping in stale oil. Stopped here in between soccer games and it turned out to be a great find. The people are exceptionally friendly and kind. The food was good, quick and filling. I had the garden skillet with chicken and although it looked small when they brought it out it was so filling i couldn't finish it. It was close to closing so it wasn't so busy and the staff kept busy wiping down everything. It was nice to see how much they cared for the place and the patrons. Before we left 2 different people offered us a to go cup for our drinks. It was really nice to find a place with such great food and fantastic service. read more

We had a wonderful meal at Annies. They have a typical English Breakfast mixed grill that you hear about. It is called the Winston Churchill. It has English bacon and Bangers, hash browns, grilled tomato and mushrooms, eggs any style and of course Heinz baked beans. Not a big WOW here. Food is food whether it's from Sysco or US Foods. What matters is presentation, service and ambiance. Meal presentation was okay, it's a cafe. Ambiance was special for the theme, nice dance routines, not sure about putting on hats that others have worn........"Can I borrow your comb"......here use my fork after I've used it...get the message? Service, not that's what could make and break a place. Went today, 9 am, wait time good, hostess good presentation, but misspelled name which meant mis-pronounced......N O T S O came out as ROCKWELL, no wonder no one showed up when she called it out.....Maybe I should have stated my name in Spanish? Seated promptly, male waiter came promptly, menus delivered, asked for coffee and delivered. Order given and coffee was empty. Waiter came by to serve other tables, looked at empty coffee cups....came by again and partner noticed he looked again at empty coffee cups, still no refill....zzzzzzz. I noticed the 2 (two) hostesses up front the whole time, chatting and drinking, not really doing anything but waiting for customers to arrive or leave. Seems like maybe ONE of them could have walked the cafe and poured coffee. Carol came out and delivered the meals, and I asked "why no one refills the coffee"? Why can't one of the 2 hostesses fill coffee? Carol made an excuse for them, it take 2 of them to watch the door.....really.... Carol came back and refilled the coffee. Then we noticed other waitresses and the hostess were refilling the coffee for the other customers.....And Carol was pouring coffee too.... Carol, coffee is cheap, you get a lot of cups per pound of coffee, and at $2.50 per cup it's a gross $$ maker. If you have to, pay someone minimum wage just to pour coffee on weekends....but it comes down to service. The waiter WAS PROMPT in delivering the bill as we were still eating the breakfast.....hmm...sends a message as "get out of here, we want to flip the table".... BTW, AMEX not accepted, this is Temecula, with a Costco nearby, everyone has an AMEX card, and Annie's serves beer/wine....another $$ maker??? Can't afford the fee for AMEX? Waitresses and waiters in Texas get $2.30 an hour and EARN their tips........service is big!! Maybe Elsinore is better. The original owners have more pride in their location.. This place might be good on a weekday in between meal periods. Bottom line....NO BIG WOW, It's not Ghetto, just average...too bad could be better. read more

I almost gave this place 4 stars and I'll tell ya why, but first let me say what a fun place this is, I live far away and I have been to both of their locations. Food is always perfect, people are friendly and willing to make you happy, and I love the look. Now the almost 4 stars was only because last time I was in their they do this fun thing where they play music and dance, but the song was Blurred Lines. Im sure one of the young workers put this on, but I was with my family and it was quit embarrassing, we all stopped our conversation and looked at each other in disbelief. Well my 3rd time and not to excited... $18 for coffee, side bacon and country skillet. First for $10 the skillet is not what you get size wise like Denny's, but was a very small skillet like a #3... Which iron skillet was cold so you can imagine what it did to the food, the sourdough toast had enough butter that it created a small puddle on base of paper in basket. The taste was bland, the chicken chunks were not seasoned at all, I should of picked the chicken fried steak like the first time. My 1st coffee luke warm.... Then had no coffee or offered any, a new customer sat close to me at bar and he was offered so much coffee I was like "I'm not that hard to spot (big guy here)" and same waitress. Young lady (Ashley) finally offered me coffee and then handed the bill...guess that was my que... Bacon was good, I know we all have our off days but was not my best service here. My waitress was Gone after she took order/dropped food off didn't see her again or offered anything. Normally if theirs a change you get told and introduced new waitress. Not sure what the hype is on this place. The food is basic and not done very well. And the service was so slow restaurant that was almost empty. I know they are known for breakfast and we were there for a late lunch. Just expected so much more based on the great reviews. This is a good place to grab a bite to eat. Food is about average, but staff is very friendly. They sing and dance for birthdays and special occasions. Corned beef hash was good. Love the iced tea. Nice outdoor seating and comfortable even in 100 degree weather. The owner was super friendly and thankful for business and expressed it which I think was really cool. Allowed us to put our name on the lost while driving there and sat us right away. Menus was not as extravagant as pictures I had seen on Yelp, I'm sure due to COVID, but it was ok because what they did offer was delicious. Enjoyed a breakfast mimosa, which apparently they have many flavors of, but I didn't take the time to see the menu u til after I had ordered or I would have tried a different flavored one for sure! The basic one was delicious nonetheless! I had the veggie omelette which was good but what was really delicious was their sausages, and I'm not much of a sausage person! I bet their chili skillet is amazing too but could have eaten something like that myself so I didn't get to have a taste of it. Their menu has the coolest drinks and coffees on it. The quality of the food has degraded significantly and the prices have increased significantly. Still we patronized Annie's. Throughout the pandemic we patronized the restaurant for our love of the owner and the special atmosphere of Annie's. We also tipped far above what is customary in for takeout or for dine in. Over a disbute with the bill, the staff implied that myself and my guest were not telling the truth about food we did not receive with our meal. Had myself and my guest not spent nearly $30,000 in our patronage over the years with the owner, my critical review might easily be dismissed. In my opinion, For the benefit of yourself and the safety of those you love do not trust the owner or the staff of Annie's in Temecula. Until recently, myself and my guest loved, cared for and respected Annie's in Temecula and raved about the staff and the business as the one of only three businesses in the valley worthy of patronage. After recent interactions with the owner, it is my opinion that the owner does not love, care for, or show proper respect for the customers that patronage her business. First time trying this place out. I can only judge by the one dish I tried (spinach, mushroom omelette with Swiss cheese) it was honestly very mediocre. I've gone to other places like Mo's egg house, broken yolk, original pancake house and the portions were pretty small in comparison. The service was great. The entertainment was different (servers dancing), the ambiance was very old diner-esque. I'd say I'd like to go back to try other dishes but first impression is a big deal. We actually came back exactly a week after our first visit, and this time my cousins and I took our moms to Annie's Cafe for breakfast (& it also happened to be 2 of my aunts birthday). We went around the same time and it didn't seem too busy so we were seated right away (11 adults & 2 children), which was amazing! My aunts really enjoyed the hats and the overall atmosphere of the place. They even got to dance the Macarena with Carol during one of their performances. Stumbled upon this place while driving to find a brunch spot. We came on Sunday around noon and there was a about a 20-25 minute (well worth it) until we got our food. We sat at the bar and EVERY plate that came out looked delicious! Soooooo good!!! read more

First time here at Annie's cafe, I was super excited! My boyfriend tells the server/host that seats us that it's my first time and she nods and says okay. So we sit down, she takes our drink order and brings them out. Then another server comes over and takes our food order. No hat or anything was ever brought out so we're thinking maybe they don't do it anymore, but then as we're eating our meal, we look over and see another guy with a funny hat on and their server doing the announcement. Service was pretty good, it was just a bummer since we chose Annie's specifically for that experience and never got it. read more

It does get super pack on the weekends, don't be surprise with a wait time of 30 mins+ but if you are patient this place is well worth the wait. When we moved from San Marcos I was looking for a good breakfast restaurant and boy did I find it. The owners do a fantastic job of making you feel welcome, just like you are in a British Pub. It's the only restaurant where I prefer to set at the bar. All of the wait staff are outstanding. However Addy stands out as my Favorite. She makes you feel like you are the most important customer in the world. I thought I was special, only to discover that she makes all of her customers feel that way.
