I grew up (mostly) in Bridgewater, and Annie's has always been the gold standard in NJ delis. I live (too!) far away now, but I come home several times a year, and every time I do, I have to make multiple trips to Annie's. I crave it wherever I am! For breakfast, nothing can beat the classic egg on a roll. For lunch, my favorites are Jaws (which I prefer with no onion) and Baby Snooks, especially because I love sandwiches with Russian dressing. I am a Russian dressing ADDICT (heightened by living on the West Coast, a Russian dressing dead zone). I don't think this place has a bad sandwich; people have their preferences that they get over and over because they are so consistent, reliable, and insanely delicious. I don't know if it what was happening but after a long road trip to Jersey for a wedding, we stopped at a deli to split a sandwich. We ordered the Carleton Sue Rehr which was good but small and on the boring side. I was expecting way more taste and flavor. It's a turkey bacon muenster sandwich but it was so tiny, it wasn't worth the 8 bucks we paid. The employees didn't seem to like us either, we both had to use the bathroom and appreciate them letting us use it but it seemed like we bothering them. I love family own places and maybe the next time I go, I'll have a better experience. read more

Had a great experience here for lunch! Really great deli with SO many great sandwich combinations. I could not decide and the staff was so nice they offered to make me two different halves! I had the tin roof which was a tuna horseradish creation and the doc pike which had turkey, lto and a dill cheese on rye. WOW. Both sandwiches were so fresh and prepared with love. I highly, highly recommend you try a sandwich with turkey because they roast it right there themselves- you can certainly taste the difference it is SO fresh and flavorful. Annie's Deli has prompted me to write my very first Yelp review. I travel to Warren, NJ for work each week, which is not exactly rife with food spots. As a result, I end up eating in the company cafeteria every day - that is until I found the absolute GEM that is Annie's Deli. I come here once a week now and I have to say these sandwiches are absolutely outstanding - and very reasonably priced. This places makes a decent sandwich, If someone asked me for a good deli in a 5 mile radius, I would send them there. But I think they are OK, nothing great nothing bad, just ok. I think the place being a small mom and pop shop, they get the nostalgia effect if you grow up with their sandwiches which I get and agree with. We got several sandwiches and split them up, out of the 3 sandwiches we got (don't remember the names) only 1 was really good, the others were nothing special. But they are the best place in town. This place is amazing. Random stop between interviews today. Got the Spencer which has egg salad onions bacon and mayo. It was so good. Simple FRESH flavors. The rye bread was perfect and soft. No stale bread here. and I don't even like rye bread. The lady was pretty cool as well. I gave it four because it's a tight little place with barely any seating so I had to eat in my car.
