We went here for a friend's birthday party upstairs and it was the cutest!!! The play area up top is so sweet and perfect for a small party. Each kid got two hot donuts that they got to dip then add the toppings of their choice. It was such a neat experience and the donuts are excellent! At the end I offered to help clean up but they told me not to stress and that's why they are there. They made it really special for the birthday girl it was such a sweet place!

Cozy foyer while you wait for your personally made donut!

We stopped in to try these treats. Tasty cake donuts only and they add toppings per your request.

Donut Delight. Great service. Walk in decide what your sweet tooth desires. Pick out your toppings and kill that sweet tooth with yumminess. Sit down and enjoy sweet heavenly delight.

My mom and I were driving to Sullivan's Island and came across this place. Their donuts were delicious and creative. Loved the option of creating your own donut. Ran into a friend while I was there. Excellent service and fun atmosphere!

Not bad, warm donuts with a cinnamon finish and oddly thin frosting? I was expecting more? Like a duck donuts vibe but still not the worst thing I've eaten. Just wish the frosting was better.

Fluffy, flavorful and lots of creative flavors on the menu. If you don't see what you want you can create your own combinations. The decor is retro and playful and there's a trade-book next door, so this is the perfect spot for a book date or place to bring the kids on a Saturday morning. Service is very friendly.

$46 for a box of donuts. My sister laughed at herself as she paid. I could sense her regret when she sat down with the fresh box of donuts. They sure are pretty...messy. They smell great and yes, they are very fresh. They were a bit soggy due to too much toppings maybe? These just aren't our style of donuts, I guess? I didn't get much flavor other than what was thrown on top. Parking is horrendous. You can slide into the front--though you won't see parking signs or anything on the ground. There is also parking on the right side of the building but only 3-4 cars will fit. Good luck if you drive anything larger than a SUV. We were stuck until someone was done ordering...very inconvenient area.

Annie's is by far the best donut experience I've ever had. The donuts roll fresh out of the grease, are handpicked, and dunked in the glaze of your choice, then generously layered with toppings. Their pre-determined flavors are imaginative, but they give you the autonomy to create your own masterpieces. The staff was very friendly, and my favorite part is they are believers in our wonderful Creator, God. A great establishment, and I highly recommend you giving them a try. You will be blessed.

These are great if you're into a cakey donut! The service was a bit aggressive and rude but I'm sure they were just overwhelmed by how busy they are Definitely give it a try if you're a cakey donut kind of person

Pumpkin Pie for the win!

Hands down the BEST donuts in all of South Carolina, maybe in the continental US?!?! Absolutely ruined all other donut places for me and my wife. They're unbeatable!

The donut was really good and something I've never tried before! It was a bit expensive for what it was so it's definitely a splurge item. Also the paper cards seemed like a waste for getting one or two donuts but overall I'd come back.

Cute place that has a good amount of seating in the back. We got:…read more Grasshopper toast/avocado toast- This was probably our favorite thing and would definitely recommend. It was unique with the different flavors and textures on top that came together really nicely. Almond frangipane scone- I'm not the biggest fan of dried fruit in baked goods, but otherwise thought this was tasty and would want to get a scone/biscuit without dried fruit next time. Would recommend. Cinnamon twist- Tasty! Not mind blowing, but we enjoyed and would get again. Best friend/chocolate chip cookie- Loved that it was crispy on the outside and chewy in the center part and that it used a darker chocolate. Jam sesh- This was not our favorite and we wouldn't get it again. We just didn't think all the flavors worked together. Short + Sweet- The coffee cake was maybe a little overbaked. My friend liked it more than I did, but I didn't feel like I needed to have it again. Overall it's a good place to go with a few people and try a bunch of things and hang out!

It's been quite a while since I made the effort to return to The Harbinger Café on Upper King and…read moreit reminded me instantly why this spot is such a Charleston favorite. The vibe is still effortlessly cozy and creative--flowers, greenery, unusual Christmas gifts, and those little bakery touches that make you want to linger over your latte. This time around, everything felt even better than I remembered. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the service had that relaxed but attentive feel. I tried a couple of their seasonal items, and once again the flavors were bright, fresh, and a little unexpected in the best way. Their baked goods are still the standout--beautifully made, not overly sweet & just delicious. It's the kind of place where you can sit with a book, catch up with a friend, or just enjoy a slow morning with coffee and something delicious. Consistently great atmosphere, consistently great food, and a place that really gets better with every visit. Why did it take so long to return. I've now placed it in the top of my list for a great coffee spot.

Bakeshop of my dreams!!…read more This truly tiny bakeshop was super close by where I was staying in Downtown Charleston (the Moxy) and I'm so glad it was. I discovered it on Yelp when I was looking for spots to stop by before heading to the airport for my flight for a quick bite. There's the tiny bakeshop storefront and right next door is where they do all the baking. I'm noting this because I almost walked into the other spot but thankfully they had a sign on the door saying it was staff only and the bakeshop was right next door. The storefront itself had all the Southern charm, with a classic flower window box at the window and the friendliest staff greeting you as soon as you walked in. I went on a weekday around 8am and it wasn't busy at all. I was able to peruse their AMAZING selection & had the hardest time choosing. Thankfully, I had my uber waiting for me so I had to make quick decisions. I ended up getting a pastel de nata, everything bagel kolache, fig leaf sugar bun, and a dark choco chip cookie (because I always need to try the local cookie). Everything tasted fresh and delicious! I loved the variety in their pastries and was amazed that there were concepts for pastries I've never heard or tried before. Their menu selection is crazy and I would 100% come back to Charleston just for this bakery. I'll be back again! Thanks to Yelp for bringing me to my now fav bakeshop on this planet.

Welton's was recommended to me by a friend who lives in Charleston and wow... I am so, so, so, so…read moreglad we listened. This ended up being our very last stop before leaving town and it may have just been the best stop of the entire trip. There was a line when we arrived, but it moved quickly, and everyone we encountered from those in line to the employees were incredibly friendly. The bakery itself is absolutely adorable and I immediately found myself wishing I had a bigger suitcase (and a bigger appetite). Deciding what to order was nearly impossible because I wanted at least one of everything. I somehow exercised a tiny bit of self-control in this tiny bakeshop and settled on a breakfast sandwich along with a pastry to go. Both were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I only wish we had discovered Welton's earlier in our trip because I know we would have gone back at least once... probably twice... okay, maybe every morning. If you ever find yourself in Charleston, do yourself a favor and make this a priority stop. 100% worth the wait! A million stars for Weltons Tiny Bakeshop.
