The space is cute, the shopping center has plenty of parking and the staff is usually pretty friendly. If you don't go early enough, they run out of bagel flavors, so keep that in mind. They have plenty of things on their menu that offer pre-made sandwich ideas, etc, but you can make your own, as well. What I will say is this: they food is good. Large portions, bagels are cooked well, and the good packs a nice punch of flavor. So you really can't go wrong with the food. The coffee drinks, however....not good. I would highly not recommend this place if you have dietary restrictions or allergies. I am vegetarian and clearly told them that, along with the fact that I have a maple allergy. I ordered a vegetarian egg and cheese and also a vegetarian Rico. He said, ok, without the bacon? Which I replied to, saying yes. While the bagels themselves were not bad, I unfortunately found bacon in my food (the egg and cheese which should have never had bacon to begin with) The place is pretty clean. Busy atmosphere, long lines. When I brought it back to the counter, I told him, I ordered my bagel vegetarian, and I found bacon in it, the employee examined my bagel and said, "Oh, that's probably just a piece, do you want me to remake it?" This response made it clear that dietary restrictions and allergies are not taken seriously here, which is concerning for customers who rely on accurate food preparation for their health and safety. The restaurant had a really cool New York theme! There were subway stop references and other NY decorations throughout. I love the bagel options they have here. I got the Rico on Rosemary Saly with caramelized onions and it as delicious. All the ingredients tasted fresh. I got the jalapeño cheddar bagel (wish I'd snapped a photo because it looked amazing) and it was fantastic perfectly toasted with a great crunch on the outside and nice chew inside. I feel like I haven't been here as much during summer break. But now that school is back in session, Ruby's has made a comeback to my routine.... And it's still good! I was greeted with a friendly smile and the staff still remembers my name and my usual order. The wait time was quick. I had some time to check a few emails and then my order was up before I expected. My doggie was happy with her usual plain, untoasted, unsliced bagel. She wagged her tail so hard as I gave it to her in the car. She savored it at home and is always very territorial over it (which she doesn't do with other food or bagels from other places). 1st timer after hearing so much about it. Went on a Thursday morning around 1030/11. Wasn't sure what I wanted but took the suggestion the the nice employee at the register and tried The Chopped, which was basically a cream cheese spread with Lox, red onions, bacon, capers and cucumbers. It was definitely good, but is ALOT of cream cheese. I took the non traditional route and had it on a tomato Asiago bagel. I will definitely be back to try something else. Had the cinnamon crunch bagel with maple walnut raisin cream cheese and a crème brûlée latte. The bagel was so nice and tender (if that's an appropriate word for a bagel haha) The cream cheese was delicious! It was a bit too much going on for me so I took the walnuts and some raisins out. The texture and flavor were very good. It's pretty sweet as well. It costs an additional $2.44 for any specialty cream cheese! They pile the cream cheese on but I don't think it's very worth it if it's so much that I'm not able to finish it all on my bagel. Maybe next time I'll ask for it on the side. My coffee was average, not very crème brûlée-tasting, but got the job done. Service was great, cashiers were very helpful and patient with my questions. They have multiple locations around the area but this is the one I decided to try since it's close to the gym I go to. This is a bagel shop and you guessed it the bagels are legit! They have a great variety and you could literally try a different bagel every other day if you wanted to. The bagels are pricier but I gotta say they'll blow any bagel from Panera or anywhere else out of the water. Now I like coffee with my bagel and yes they serve coffee but some of their prices are a little suspect as far as coffee is concerned. Latte's are expensive and they charge an extra $2.00 if you want to substitute with oat milk. I don't even think Starbucks charges that much but it's even worse when other local coffee shops around the area charge less or charge nothing at all to substitute with oat milk. I'll end it with this, stay for bagels but go somewhere else for cheaper/better coffee. read more

On a recent trip to South Charleston with my wife and daughter, we were hungry, but also in between cities, but a bagel sandwich sounded good. But where and yet close to the expressway? We saw a sign off the expressway and looked it up on Yelp. Yes! Yelp to the rescue....again!!! Introduced to Ruby's Bagels, the 'find' was located! Nicely greeted upon entering, we found the 'Bagel' peak. Fresh made, it was a challenge to focus on just one, but we chose the rosemary bagel with freshly made chicken salad that was superb! As we were coming upon my wife's birthday, they even gave her a 'birthday bagel' that was a real fun surprise. They feature a full coffee and tea service (Mocha's, a full array of Espresso's, and specialty coffees) too. While they only opened in October, this new addition to the area has met a community-wide embrace. I love the variety of cream cheeses they offer from sweet to savory varieties along with different dietary needs like vegan options plus they will communicate if something has gluten. The green smoothie is one of my all time favorites as well - packed with nutrients and tastes oh so healthy!! In the past I've tried their cookie butter latte and it was super addicting. Staff is friendly and fast with the orders. When you pay with cash the there's a drop in the price due to not having to pay the credit card companies fees. I just moved here from Denver and I have been to Rubys every weekend since I moved! They have the whitest variety of unique bagels. I have been to in a very long time. I like to mix and match the bagel with the unique cream cheeses that they have. Each month they have a new coffee selection. I had so been looking forward to visiting this Ruby's, but due to the limited hours, yesterday was my first opportunity. The location is lovely like the Mount Pleasant and appeared to be clean. I arrived right at 7 and ordered a cheddar bagel with cream cheese, toasted. There was one gentleman ahead of me. I did not get my bagel until 7:12. I completely understand a long wait when lines are out the door, but I was surprised They also do not take cash! I'm okay with paying with card but don't understand that.. The bagel was very good, but not necessarily worth the wait. In addition, the hours are not conducive to teacher avid student schedules in West Ashley. I mentioned this ti the employee who suggested I could go to the North Charleston location as they open at 6:30. The owners should take into account the community needs as our middle and high schools start at 7:30 or earlier. I will return, but I'm not running back. read more

Brooklyn bagels in West Ashley, how great! On a whim, we googled "bagels near me" one Saturday morning and found this new location had recently opened. And the online menu was easy to navigate and placing an order was fast. When we arrived to grab our pick up order, the service was friendly. Staff members were quickly serving customers at the counter and checking for online pick up orders to make sure things were efficient. The bagel shop is in a strip mall (the strip mall beside Total Wine for locals). The interior is nicely done with subway tiles and other New York City memorabilia. I stopped in on my way out of town. So excited to see a new bagel shop. They are located in a shopping center by Papa John's. The line was long when I arrived, but moved fairly quickly. They do have online ordering, so if you are in a rush I recommend using that. The staff was nice and helped me navigate the menu. I ordered the everything whole wheat bagel with egg avocado, lettuce, bacon, and chive cream cheese on the side. I waited about 15 min. The bagel sandwich was so good!
