Been wanting to try Ruby's and glad to finally be able to do so while on holiday. I got their specialty Cheddar & Jalapeno bagel with a thankful option of vegan, while the sweetie had a classic sausage egg and cheese on an egg bagel - both are technically off menu. My bagel had a generous amount of vegan cream cheese, which makes up for the high price of my added avocado. I added some black pepper, which made the already semi-spicy jalapeno in the bagel kicked into the savory stratosphere. Moreso, the bagels are really good! As a NYer by birth (and long lived) I was hoping that their bagels weren't just in name alone. But even the way they were sitting behind the counter, I could tell they would be. The person taking the order was good too, though as we ordered extra bagels she gave me one wrong one. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are NYC subway memorialbilia inside, which is a nice touch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small-ish space, and there are a few tables inside, but they got hit by a late breakfast rush so we didn't stay.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As they are NYC-centered, I would recommend having a classic 'bacon egg & cheese' bagel on menu. Overall it was good experience - I look forward to returning.

Pork roll egg and Taylor Ham, Egg, & Cheese, large Iced Coffee

Being from New Jersey I am a bagel snob and Ruby's lives up to my expectations. I love a classic pork roll egg and cheese on an everything bagel with a side of ice coffee. The flavors are amazing and they give you a good amount of egg and meat on your sandwich. The line is usually long but goes by so quick so don't let it deter you. The workers are friendly and work so hard to create a great experience and it shows!

Okay so these were delicious. Chewy, great flavor selection, and they weren't sold out...love it. We bought salt, chocolate chip and salt, rosemary (my fave), cinnamon crunch, everything, and cacio de pepe! Close to a NY bagel for sure!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Ruby's is your classic homey bagel shop. When you first walk in it feels like home.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is usually very quick and kind! The bagels are toasted very well but I always find that they use an abundant amount of cream cheese. Personally, I don't like it. Even when asked to do a "light spread"I'm still scraping a good bit off. They have a lot of options for what to pair with your bagels. I often times get the breakfast sandwiches rather than cream cheese. I loved the plain bagel I had, the strawberry cream cheese was great, but this is their version of "light" so it was too much for me. I enjoyed the flavor. So overall I give it 2/5. All to say I find myself frequenting Ruby's they are very popular and yummy. Expect to pay more than you may want for a bagel. Also I'd suggest trying a coffee as well!

If you're looking for a bagel place in Mount Pleasant, look no further than Rudy's! For the South, this is a great spot for a morning breakfast sandwich. I ordered my classic choice: an everything bagel with jalapeno cream cheese. You might not be able to see from the picture, but this smear of cream cheese was exactly what I wanted! If you're not a fan of a lot of cream cheese, you might want to ask for less, but this was perfect for me. I've also tried their cinnamon bagel, which had the right amount of sweetness, though it was definitely lacking in cinnamon flavor. I would definitely recommend Rudy's to all my bagel-loving friends.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place has fun vibes and nice fresh options for breakfast and lunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If bagels aren't necessarily your thing, that's okay because their coffee and smoothies are yummy too! Also, they sell their delicious, flavorful and creative spreads to take home and enjoy! You can pop in and eat or take it on the run. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff is friendly and the joint is tidy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Solid options here Try the pizza bagel! It's one of my favorites. Also their Reuben... Add an egg. You won't be sorry!

While the option to order online was available, I went into this place to look at the bagels before I bought any. There are several locations of this bagel shop now, and given that my day took me elsewhere I might have been better off at one of the other ones. My half dozen bagels were procured quickly; the option to slice them was not offered but I would not have taken it anyway as they needed to keep for a bit. The flavor variety was significant, including some whole wheat, multigrain, and rye-based options. They were thick, filling creations which toasted well; I enjoyed the multigrain and the pumpernickel and wish I'd gotten some whole wheat as well. They did have options for fresh breakfasts, including avocado toast on a bagel, as well as beverages.

Came here after a nice run on the bridge and this bagel was delicious! It was packed as well which was nice to see. Definitely would come back!

Our last meal on the island was breakfast and we came here. I love me an egg bagel and they do not exist at any bagel shop near me. This satisfied my craving for one. The cream cheese was tasty on the bagel and the coffee was good and not too sweet. Minimal interaction with the staff but they were nice. This place was very crowded, seems like the place to go before people hit the beach or boat for the day.

I was visiting the Charleston area and came across this bagel place, so I decided to stop in. I ordered a small coffee and an everything bagel with cream cheese. The bagel & coffee were both delicious! They also had a decent amount of other selections to order, which all seemed good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had my coffee and bagel in the dining area, which was nice since then was a ton of seating available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, highly recommend!

My Ruby's veggie cream cheese, bacon, scrambled egg, ham, and Aldehide bagel reheated 6 hours later still displays the glory of the bagel!

I went in to get amazing real NY bagels for our Saturday morning gaming group on Thursday, because I work in Mt. P but live in Goose Creek. I asked the super-friendly staff how best to preserve the bagels and they said ideally come back Saturday morning LOL but agreed that my cut in half, bag individually, freeze, and thaw out of the bag before toasting was best next to fresh. I toasted them and buttered or cream cheesed them as requested, added ham and/or bacon. scrambled eggs and 1 of 3 cheeses. They kept the gaming group fueled for 6 hours, I didn't even have to put out snacks! The photo doesn't do my sandwich justice as it was my reheated second half 6 hours later (the guys ate theirs up!) but it shows the shiny, toothy, glorious egg bagel and delectable savory veggie cream cheese. These are perfect NY bagels, not to be missed! The sandwiches on their menu seem spendy, but you really get 2 meals from them, so think big and check 'em out! I know I'll be back!

What a generous portion of lox!

Authentically good bagels. Go and try them yourself! My wife and I stopped into Rudy's for the first time today. I had a salt Basel with cream cheese, she had a sesame with lox. Check out my picture - I've never been served such a generous portion of lox on a bagel anywhere - NYC included. Rudy bakes up superlative bagels. I'm a bit of a bagel snob just because I've had excellent bagels before, and therefore eschew the fast food or frozen products. I'm pleased to say that Rudy's has the best bagels I've had in the low country. The staff was plentiful and pleasant. We were there half part noon, and there was a steady stream of customers looking for bagels and.sandwiches. The folks were serviced quickly. Some remained to eat in; others left. We ate in, and so I got a chance to assess the ambiance. Ruby's is a small place, maybe 20 seats, and has a very relaxed vibe. Some who ate in were like us, enjoying the food and conversation. Others seemed to be comfortable hanging longer over more coffee and deeper discussions. Ruby's has that bit of coffeehouse aura that easily accommodates all. One last observation: I love the Ruby's clientele! I'm in a wheelchair. I spilled an iced tea while ferrying it to my table. I spun around and grabbed napkins and started to clean up. Within seconds several patrons had jumped up and pitched in wiping up the floor. Now that's a friendly place that makes me want to visit again. Excellent authentic bagels, great vibe, and friendly staff and customers. What more do you want?

    Lox bagel with avocado

This was my first time at the Ruby's in Mt. Pleasant and I was absolutely blown away by the service here. I ordered a lox bagel with avocado and was debating between two of their seasonal matcha flavors. After speaking with the employee, I ordered one drink and didn't end up liking it so I went back to order the other drink. However, they made me the new drink and made sure I liked it! The strawberry vanilla matcha latte was SO good - one of the best matchas I've had and I hope they keep it on the menu permanently! The bagel was HUGE and lasted me two meals. Lightly toasted, lots of lox, a big hunk of avocado, and tons of cream cheese. Super filling and flavorful. The people here absolutely made my whole day. They were so sweet, personable, and friendly. Great food and even better service - come here for all your bagel and breakfast needs!!!

OMG! How did I just discover this place?…read more We stopped by Mozzo Deli in Mount Pleasant for lunch on a Friday, expecting it to be busy, and it definitely was. It's located in a shopping center at the end of a strip of restaurants, so it looks pretty unassuming from the outside. There were about four people ahead of us in line, and it took around 10 minutes to place our order. After paying at the cashier, we found a table, and our food arrived about 10 minutes later, which felt reasonable for the lunch rush. The employee who brought our food confirmed our order and later checked back to see how everything was. The food was the highlight of the visit. The coleslaw was delicious, the tortellini salad was good, and my husband really enjoyed his Cuban sandwich. My burger (the rock), though, was one of the best I've ever had. It was incredibly juicy and flavorful, especially considering it was cooked on a griddle instead of a grill. Meals come with the main item, and you can order sides separately if you want them. The menu is extensive, with burgers, sandwiches, salads, build-your-own options, and even breakfast items. The only downside is that if you come during the lunch rush, you may have to wait for a table. Even so, the food made it well worth the visit, and I'd definitely go back for that burger.

Their prices have really gone up, and the quality of food just doesn't justify downtown Charleston price tags. $5.50 for a watered down "cold brew," and about $10 for a sausage egg and cheese on toast... which they up charged me $1.09 to switch it from a biscuit to toast they likely got at Aldi or Teeter After taxes this was slightly over $19. I don't see that they stock the Charleston City Paper anymore, which is something I used to look forward to reading in their worn in cozy space. I'd rather make this breakfast sandwich at home for 1/4 the price and the same quality.

She proceeded to take us to our table and pointed in a corner to the "coffee bar". Code for "get your own coffee cuz I'm too busy to get it for you". That shocks me this establishment would have that sort of set up with the number of elderly peeps in the Charleston area. While we were there, a wheelchair bound individual was dining. Do you think she appreciated the "coffee bar"? My husband ordered a farmhouse omelet with a side of bacon. I had the bacon-chorizo eggs benedict. Both were very good. I was disappointed that the spinach and tomatoes that topped the benedict were not sauteed-they were raw. It was still a good dish. The highlight was the cup of fruit I ordered. I don't know if it was just cuz I've been stuck in Ohio without "good fruit", but it was freaking yummy. It was a combo of blueberries, blk raspberries, kiwi, fresh pineapple, strawberries, and an orange slice! All tasty. I had to chuckle to myself while eating. The wall adjacent to where we were eating had some "black board" messages on it. One of the postings was to rent the room area for your next party. As I sat eating my lunch, I noticed that every ceiling tile was sagging horribly from the ceiling and many were stained. Do restaurant owners not realize that ceiling tiles are pretty darn cheap?? These could be changed easily after hours. This place in particular closes at 3 pm. All in all, our lunch was very good, but some details of the operations and ambience detracted from a 5 star review.
