Holy Moly. I wanted a good burger, and I got a piping hot, to drool for deluxe cheeseburger in 5 minutes. I am definitely coming back for the burgers. Cheaper than mcdonalds burgers AND this good? Yes please. Not impressed with their fries (similar to in n out fries which I don't like), but that doesn't matter to me, I just wont get them next time. Next time I come ill try their popular coney dogs and update my review! So I tried their coney dog and it was pretty darn good! I've never tried a coney dog, and am not a big fan of mustard, but it isn't a real coney dog without it! This is really 3.5, but I'll give them 4 for blowing fast food, and most of the establishments in the area, out of the water. But... they really need some air conditioning in the summer. I brought the in-laws here last summer, and it was sweltering. I could have cooked a burger on my forehead, or the table. Good little diner type establishment. Small menu with good options, great service, way better than fast food. The fries have been baaaad 2/4 times I've been here, to where it was totally not worth the calories to eat them... If you know me, you'll know I never met a fry I didn't like, and eat... Yes I'm a fry cannibal. Actually, I'm kind of picky about my fries, so I'll let it slide. The chicken strips are killer... really delicious. The prices are great, portions well worth the money and the burgers are good. Quite good, actually. While this place doesn't look like much from the street it has amazing cheeseburgers and shakes!! I'm not the biggest fan of the fries but the onion rings make up for that. This is my regular place to go when I want a burger. I have long since given up on fast food; lack of taste, cost, and the impact it makes on our planet. This place sucks. I asked for a bacon cheeseburger plan. They screwed up my burger. When I brought it up to the counter the young man shrugged his shoulders and would not make me a new burger. The kid at the counter said I would have to pay $0.95 as well for a new burger. I paid for a large drink, but gave me a medium. No apologies from the manager either. We're always in the market for good burger joints. This place did not meet even our laziest standards. Decided to stop in here on the way back from an outing to Oxbow Park, because my son is an avid greasy-spoon burgers and old fashioned shakes fan. The reviews of this place were calling to us. Don't believe them - trust me. The place was not clean, which was the first indication that we might have made a mistake. Next, the guy taking orders was kind of rude, and he and someone in the kitchen were yelling back and forth in another language. Normally this would make me smile, and generate a little "Hell yeah!" in my brain, but something about this in a dirty roadside burger joint didn't settle well. The food was mediocre at best - the meat in the burgers was very bland, grayish and overcooked. The buns were stale. My wife had the mushroom cheeseburger "special" and we noted immediately that canned mushrooms - PLUS the juice from the can - had been dumped onto the burger - soggy bun for days. It was more than a little gross. The fries - these are freezer fries and they were horrendously undercooked, soggy, and somehow also dry. I just don't know what kind of punishment you have to put a frozen french fry through in order to achieve that result, but it's not something anyone or anything should ever experience. Last - my son ordered a shake. The menu listed several flavors of shake so he had picked one (peanut butter, I think?) but the kid behind the counter said "No peanut butter". So he ordered a chocolate shake. When he got it, he said it tasted funny, so I tasted it. I tasted old generic shelf-stable chocolate syrup (probably a Hershey's knockoff), and loads of freezer-burn, along with a hint of something "off" that I couldn't place. The taste was decidedly NOT chocolate, but something else - like malted chemical vanilla. Son had a nasty stomachache before he got through half his burger, too. We will absolutely not return to this place. read more

I loooove this place! Cute lil hole in the wall with amazing food, big portions, super affordable, and their black raspberry shake is friggin heaven. The parking lot and bathroom situation are a little sketchy but it makes up for it with the food and prices. read more

I hate writing these kind of reviews for small businesses. Annie's is just not a labor or love for the folks who own it, although I'm sure they work hard and put in long hours, and in the end I feel pretty much like the Yelp description of a two-star review - "meh, I've experienced better." Sad comment when with some elbow grease and perhaps charging more for higher-quality ingredients, this small-ish burger stand could really make a good impression and even get better reviews (and there are customers who like it a lot). The location is not so bad. There's not much else in these few blocks except a couple of food carts. Curb appeal is OK at first, kind of cute with the black-and-white tiles, but the close-up gets worse the closer you get, (sort of an "Mr. DeMille, I'm not ready for my close-up" effect). Once in the door, I realized how dingy it was. Cracked black-and-white tiles here and there with some disinterested placement of photos of 1960s muscle cars. Gordon Ramsey would have a field day with trying to get this place back into gear; his first priority would be to get the place cleaned up via the use of a lot of elbow grease and industrial cleaner. The next would be to go over the menu item by item, order some higher-quality ingredients (the buns were actually pretty good, but the large patty was from frozen stock. The fries were surprisingly fresh and tasty). I ended up feeling OK about eating here because everything came in paper, and I did take it back to the office where I worked today (I forget my lunch at home, so was in a bit of a bind). Customer service is in sore need of help. I suspect that the owner and his son (I'm pretty sure) work very, very hard and this is where the lack of "personability" comes in. It's hard to get enthused when you're tired. Still a smile and a thank you (I hope) shouldn't exhaust these two gentleman, and I hope they can find a way to work on this. You get what you put into a transaction, and they might enjoy their restaurant more if they were able to put some effort into customer service. This restaurant has been here for several years, and I'm sure it's been through more than one owner. I hope they can think their way out of this dilemma and make it work. They make a pretty descent burger. Tots are magic. Don't let these reviews that dog the place for its appearance define your dining. It's appearance is definitely one owner and lots of hours, but it's never filthy or health code violation serious. Hand washing and fresh product seem to be the norm, at least in my visits . I've been going to Annie's for over 14 years. They have the best burgers and fresh cut fries. Their specialty is the coney hotdog, in which they make their own sauce. Best coney in town!!! First off, ignore the bad reviews!! This is one f my favorite burger joints in town. The food is supposed to be greasy, the fries are what you would expect from a carnival. That's the point!! All the reviews I read about the owners being rude is not true. The owner has always been nothing but nice and seems to enjoy small talk. His son may seem like he would rather be doing something else, but he isn't rude he is a kid. Really good prices on the food, I highly recommend the bacon wrapped hot dog and peanut butter shake. This place is absolutely awful! My husband and I went for a standard cheese burger and fries. The owner's son was rude. The place is dreary, greasy and dirty. The hamburger patties might have been a 1/16th inch at most. Fries were decent and food was fast but really disappointing.
