The van was fully decorated, and champagne served and music on. Our first stop Maurice Carie, Tasted wines, enjoyed a great live band, charcuterie, and a fabulous pastry, baked Brie. Eddie showed us the Barrel Room and shared some information about the barrels. Our next step was Lorimar winery, we enjoyed wine, live music, the outdoor patio was packed with people having a great time. The air was chilly, but they had heaters for comfort. They served a buffet meal which was quite delicious and generous! Our server at Lorimar made herself available for anything we needed. Eddie, our driver even fetched our sweaters when we needed them. This was event first class, fun, and no hassle. We all had a great time! The only challenge, which is typical at public events, long bathroom line for the women at Lorimar. This place was rockin' and with music and dancing!

The first 2 trips were put together by an employee who has since retired; she was incredible, very responsive, had everything squared away for us. This 3rd trip was put together by Guillaume Van Wyck at Great Safaris. The accommodations were excellent and we'll be returning to Kenya to several of them. The overall trip was really great, and was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, as we anticipated. HOWEVER... communication from Great Safaris was not good. I had to email repeatedly to get answers to questions. Information about obtaining visas was non-existent, and when we had issues, we got a last-minute email that would have been helpful earlier. A hot-air balloon excursion in the Serengeti wasn't scheduled for us (even though we paid for it), so we didn't get to take it; Great Safaris did refund our money, but we wish we could have taken the excursion. Serious mistake on their part. Questions about scheduling went unanswered; we didn't get itinerary times until we were in Africa, and only by asking the people at the lodges. Great Safaris should have provided all of that to us. All in all, we would recommend a safari trip for anyone loving animals and a truly amazing experience. BUT WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GREAT SAFARIS.

Plus what does it say about YOU and your sanity, when you're sitting there reading a review that has quite possibly been written by a mad woman? Not so judgey anymore are we?!? Alright let's be friends and I'll tell you all about this hotel. For one, the mid week rates are really freaking good. I spent like $130 for a night when I booked it about 3pm for that very same night. Lots of times hotels jack up their prices when you are in that situation and they didn't. So yay for saving money! Even if I was there for work and on the company's dime... I dunno if the app has an issue but it didn't give me my electronic key so I had to check in. Not a huge deal. I just get used to not dealing with humans. All my stays after that the electronic key worked... so ... you get what you get. I haven't been in the pool but they do have one! I shockingly did use their gym and while small, it had all the things you'd expect for a little hotel work out. The rooms are a worn around the edges but perfectly fine for a short stay. I've always had a clean room, and am able to get a decent rest. I've also been happy with the plugs and haven't had one not work. The rooms on the bottom floor are a bit dark. The hotel is within walking distance to some restaurants which is a plus. You can do a little happy hour crawl if that's your thing! After staying here a few times I've noticed some of the staff will lie right to your face. Which is funny, and I don't push it... for instance late check out. They absolutely allow late check out (space permitting) but one woman told me they NEVER allow it... when just a week before I was given late check out without any issue! I mean I don't think late check out is my right or anything, and I didn't bother with arguing... but I just found it funny how they will just lie like that... So... I definitely have been checking out other hotels in the area. Marriott is super giving with late check out and it really is nice since I am in the area working and often getting up super early to be in the hospital, so it's nice to be able to grab an early lunch and eat it in my hotel room and then pack up. Makes things less rushed and much more convenient. In all? It's a solid place to stay if you are in the area on business. Parking is easy, the rooms are comfortable, and you can walk to grab dinner!

You're better off going to a fast food joint. But if you're thinking about going to a Dennys or IHop. This is the better deal. I really can't complain. We got all the rest we needed, and the enjoyment that comes with it.

For lunch we made a stop at Sherman's Deli which shouldn't be missed. Upon starting our 6 mile ride back to the hotel, we discovered that one of our bikes had a rear flat tire. It's always the rear, isn't it? What could be harder to change than a rear flat on a 65 lb e-bike, assuming I had brought a wrench. I could have ridden back solo, brought back the car and bike rack, picked up the broken bike and then drove back to the hotel. But, then we'd still have a bike with a flat with a few more days left in our trip. (sigh)... Hoping for the best, we did a Google search for bike shops in the area. That's when we found BIKE Palm Springs nearby. They were a bike rental shop, but maybe they'd help us. I rode the working bike over to BIKE PS and asked, and they said "no problem"! About 20 minutes later, Tony had put in a new heavy duty up-graded tube, replacing our thin standard tube that wouldn't hold up to the 'goat heads' that can be found on the trail, and had us ready to go again. We had some time to look their shop over while we waited - great helpful staff, clean shop, and nice well-maintained RAD and Aventon E-bikes. You couldn't ask for much more, we've ridden both in the past and liked them. So a big thank you to Tony and the rest of the staff that helped us at BIKE Palm Springs. You saved our day!

We actually felt genuine pathos as she shared the little known and very touching details of each location along the tour. The way it works is to travel in a super modern luxury van while Annette drives and comments and stops at points along the way. This is not a walking tour. This is not a go-inside-the homes/businesses tour. This is a thorough overview of the Palm Springs area including parts of adjoining locals. The brochure is clear and accurate. What I can add to it is that Annette makes the experience really special and makes you feel like she really cares that you have a great tour. It's proof of the old saying, "nobody cares how much you know unless they know how much you care." Annette cares a lot about Palm Springs and about her business of giving tourists an outstanding tour of the area. We are so glad we took this tour.
