Pretty good burgers with a huge variety from which to choose. Probably one of the best things about this burger joint. The cross cut fries are good. Not dry. The onion rings are very good. The buns are good. (But it did fall apart when I tried to eat it as the burger was so stacked. My son said I just needed to press it down first. ) I had one of the few brews on draft. The Blonde. It hit the spot and paired well w/ my Cali Burger. So I think the main drawbacks are: the burgers are all cooked medium+ which is overcooked for me. I like it with a bit of pink and some juiciness. There isn't a fair selection of beer. Only a few on draft. There are plenty of other kinds of drinks, so it's not really a big deal. They have a salmon burger and salads, too. This has been my favorite burger place ever since I moved to California in 2008. I don't remember when they got here but I was one of the first customers to come to the one in Santee and that's always been the one I go to. Very good burger. High quality. Their menu has been getting bigger and bigger but they haven't changed the quality. It's rare because usually companies go cheaper and cheaper as they get bigger and bigger but this company hasn't. This place had great food. You order at the counter and the. You get your food taken to your table by your number. It holds up for delivery or Togo take out orders too. The portions are large. They have a great variety and this would be family friendly too. I love that they do have beer on tap even if you eat indoors. There is one in Kearny Mesa and one in Santee, and I prefer the one in Santee since there is a lot more parking. Both have great food though. read more

Well all I can say is that the Pattie's did not taste fresh. They tasted like the frozen ones from Costco. Not horrible, but not good either. My initial thought was that the pastrami will be ground and mixed in with the beef, I guess I was thinking of another joint but never the less I was satisfied with the order. The burger was juicy with the pastrami topping. My cohort opted for the salmon burger with fries. We were feeling adventurous to we split both burgers and shared. The salmon was cooked well and I wish it had more flavor. The buns were soft and not bad in size, the fries were good as well. The staff was friendly and the wait was not bad at all. The ambiance was cozy so this place will be good for a group. I did not notice outside seating so I am not sure how crowded this place will be in on a weekend. Really wanted to like this place but it was just OK. Was raved about by a family member that the burgers were good, but I'm realizing it's just a "huge" burger - and that's why he liked it. I like juicy medium rare burgers, but the meat patty was large and very thin, and cooked completely brown (gross) with no flavoring. Even if overcooked, meat can still taste great but this was bland and boring. Tasted like a frozen patty. The bun was maybe too large for the thin patty and contents but it was soft and a little sweeter at least unlike neighbor 52 East buns. Sweet potato fries were not served with any serving dip (like blue cheese dressing or an aioli) like every other place- they only have ketchup and mustard. Asked for blue cheese dressing and it was watery and weird with air bubbles, almost tasted like yogurt. Staff was very friendly, burger came out in a reasonable speed. Place was pretty packed so we had to share a large table with another family. Also they have Pepsi fountain products (another NO for me) and don't offer canned coke products. Soooo, we used to frequent the location in Kearney Mesa and stopped going due to declines in consistency. Size of fry orders varies drastically, burns dry and breaking easily, bacon rubbery and chewy (not to mention you could see HUGE amounts of pre cooked bacon in a container by the grill shortly before closing...I hope they don't reuse that). After months of not going we found ourselves at the location in Santee and to my surprise the burger was VERY tasty....seasoned well...crispy bacon...fresh bun - yum!!!! My son ordered the Korean BBQ Cheesesteak that we have always loved and it was bland and not seasoned or marinated at all. He was bummed as he had enjoyed this when we used to go frequently. The service was good the Lady at the counter was Polite and took our order with no issues. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich. It was 6/10 It was very good, but the sandwich was very messy and The onions almost made me puke. If you get the chicken sandwich do NOT get onions on it. It will disgust you. I also ordered the buffalo chicken fries. Those were good 9/10 and the chili cheese fries were amazing. 10/10 I recommend the fries they are great quality and delicious. The burgers are not recommended from me as I'm more of a pizza guy so don't take burger advice from me i definitely recommend all fry options. Another con about this establishment is the prices. I picked here on a whim when I was really wanting a burger and I am so glad that I did. We did order pick up to bring home and I was very happy that I could order online. The process was smooth and easy. When I got there to pick up I was able to find a parking spot and walk right in to the restaurant to pick up. I went to the counter and the staff had my items ready for me and I was off. Everything in that experience was great and our food has always been great which has made it an easy choice to come back. We have been back 4x since then. I have called to place my orders and always have great communication with the staff but my favorite time was when I placed a large order as we had guests over and I stopped at Crumbl first to pick up cookies and I had my 4 year old with me. My hands were full and one of the staff members noticed and offered to leave to help me to my car. I so truly appreciated that. I have not had many opportunities anywhere that people offer to help me like that when I have my kids. When it comes to food, everything is amazing that I have had. We have had the S&P fries, crispy fries, and garlic fries. They are all soooo good. We really like the S&P fries and garlic fries, and the serving size is huge. We can easily split them between 2 people. We generally don't though and just save and put them in the oven the next day for lunch. For the burgers we have ordered the mozzarella chicken burger, bacon cheeseburger, hickory BBQ burger, Santa Fe burger, buffalo chicken burger, corn dog, and a cheeseburger salad. Exterior of shopping strip just of the 163 freeway is not so appealing but interior setting is welcoming. Finally did and now consider it one of the best burger joints in SD.
