Our experience at Another Broken Egg Was excellent from start to finish. We were greeted with a warm welcome from the hostess who immediately showed us to a table. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, making sure our glasses were never empty. A woman, who I presume was the owner, brought us beignets to welcome us to the restaurant. This morning my wife and myself went to breakfast here to celebrate our dogs birthday he gets the scraps. My wife loves this place because the French toast. I usually only like eggs Benedict on the menu so that's what I ordered. I specifically ordered my yolks to be over hard as last time I came and ordered them over hard. they came out completely runny. So I was specific when I ordered this time. I don't want runny yolks when my food arrived my eggs were hard fried like little pieces of rubber not the poached egg that was supposed to come with my meal I did not notice this initially when my plate was set in front of me unfortunately I had to wait 20 minutes for my server to come back and check on me at this time my wife was done eating her breakfast and we needed to leave to make it to another appointment I asked the server to remove it from my bill because I was unsatisfied with it and I did not have time to wait for another one which started the process of the cook coming out to my table and debating with me about if my order was correct or not he told me that he had just put in more egg to remake my plate I said I didn't have time but he assured me it would be right out so I said OK please put it in a to go box. I proceeded to wait another eight minutes until a server brought out the most crummy looking little to go box with two little hard poached eggs with the yolk falling out not the rest of my entrée just two eggs is if that somehow solve the problem I then had my wife go inside and tell the server that's not what we expected and we wanted it removed from the bill at which point we waited another five minutes for the cook to come back out and tell me he did me a favor by paying for my meal what meal I said I didn't eat anything and he proceeded to tell me or you're welcome and walked back inside after he threw the playback down on the table it I would not recommend this place and I will never be going back. read more

After waiting a reasonable 15 minutes we sat down ravenous for a dank breakfast. Food was Ok, blueberry pancake had 3 blueberries and the eggs looked like they sat underneath the heat lamps. First time eating at Another Broken Egg Cafe. Tried to eat at the Tapestry location but it was a 45 minute wait and we didn't sign up on the wait list. So we traveled to this Jacksonville Beach location and we were not disappointed! Wife ordered the Crab Omelet, children ordered the egg biscuit and I had the crab cake benedict. All dishes were prepared wonderfully and delivered promptly. We were greeted warmly at the door and were served warm beignets at the table. Coffee flowed. I feel like this place has a few unfair reviews. The food is great but It's new to the beach so they are still learning how to navigate the busy weekends. Expect a wait. We went around 12:30 on Sunday, got seated immediately on the patio, and we're there until almost 2:00 BUT the staff is super friendly, the patio is dog friendly and our waitress, Brittany B. brought out a bowl of water for our dog without us even asking. The cold brew iced coffee is delicious, especially if you get it with coconut milk instead of regular milk. The blackberry grits are a surprisingly yummy combination and everything else we ordered tasted amazing. If you go in expecting to wait a few extra minutes for your meal (and just enjoy spending time with whoever you're with) then you will have a great experience. read more

The entire experience was sub par. I was immediately disappointed in the lack of service and attention. Not just my table, but those around me as well. It took almost 20 minutes to place and receive a drink order. This was not peak, busy time so no excuse there. Now onto the food. No. Just no. We had a party of 5 and every single dish was cold and uneventful. The power bowl was heavily salted, the crab cakes were mushy, the sausage tasted like you licked a candy shop (overly sweet). It's like they know it's their standards to be amazing and anything less isn't acceptable. My wife is gluten free (not by choice) and there are very few gluten free dishes that are really good (and not just edible). She really enjoys and looks forward to the gluten free pancakes here and I brought her here for brunch. Just before they were ready to serve our brunch a manager told us they had run out of gluten free mix to make the pancakes. We can make eggs at home. Don't need to go out for that. The manager was very blasé about the fact that they ran out of the mix and doesn't realize that many customers come because they offer better gluten free items. I don't understand how they can run out of a non-perishable item. My wife had turned many friends onto this restaurant because of these options. There are a lot of breakfast places in Jacksonville Beach so I expected this chain to want to compete with the local restaurants. The food was ok but we had several mix-ups. My Mom got the wrong drink, my husband got capers on his eggs benedict even though he requested without capers. My omelet was supposed to have tomatoes but no tomatoes and the potatoes are bland and appear to be frozen, not fresh. They have gluten free pancakes but not gluten free toast. Why so many plates? We were a party of 4 and had at least 10 plates on our table including the breakfast plate on top of another plate! I think we'll stick with the local breakfast places from now on. read more

Pretty bad experience, waited about an hour (with kids, yikes) for our breakfast. When food was brought out, several items were cold and/ or forgotten. When mentioned our daughter wanted sausage instead of bacon, a cold shriveled up sausage was brought out. We asked for check (didn't really eat cold food) our server asked if she should try to take off a kids meal. We said sure- but check came back full price with every single item. Absolutely terrible service, the hostess that took down our name somehow lost our spot in line so we ended up waiting an hour to get seated when others were being seated in 15-20 minutes. Then our waitress was scarce the entire meal, wasn't writing down our order and was repeating it back wrong. If you can't remember two drink orders just write it down instead of wasting my time. The drink order came out poorly made with no salt on the rim (it was a bloody Mary) but by this point I've completely given up on this place. Finally the food arrives and it's just a terrible bland mess. I never thought I would say this but I should have just went to cracker barrel. We were so incredibly excited based on what appeared to be a phenomenal menu, however the execution was completely flawed and nothing tasted at all as good as what it sounded. The scrambles were terrible, the black bean patty on the Benedict was unseasoned and for all intents and purposes a black bean paste, and the adult breakfast beverages were far too sweet (blueberry mimosa). It was about the worst breakfast ever, especially for what you're charged. The pancakes tasted like paste,the potatoes were like they were warmed over from the previous day, the eggs did not seem to be fresh at all. You can tell the difference in the types of eggs that are used. It was also cold. We ended up speaking to the manager and he comped our whole meal I think just to shut us up. My breakfast was so bad I hardly ate two bites of it. There is not that many breakfast places at the beach so they may do well for a while, however, with that quality of food and the prices, don't see it being open very long unless something changes. Point is, need to speak up if your food is not up to highest standards. They claim to have fresh food at high quality and with those prices, should hold them to that standard. read more

I have been there twice in the last two weeks. It is a very cute place inside and the hostess staff is very friendly. My first visit was ok....the service was very, very slow. We almost left because after we ordered it took at least a 1/2 hour to get our food. ( and we only ordered a cinnamon roll and beignets) That being said, the cinnamon roll was Very, Very good. It was actually the best I have had in a long time, very fluffy and large and the icing was perfect and it melted in your mouth. My second visit was on a Sunday after church, and it was very busy. The hostess was accurate in her wait desctiption and we got seated within a reasonable amount of time. The service this time was better....and I ordered the cinnamon roll french toast ( had to have more of that great cinnamon roll) It came with fresh berries and a little syrup and it was delicious. However, I did think the price was high ($13.99) as most of the menu is pricey in my opinion, for breakfast for two people (my daughter had an overcooked omelet) was $27.00 (we had waters to drink, nothing more) Thats a little high for us. I had a very large party eating at 9:00am on a Saturday, there was originally some confusion i guess when i called two weeks prior, long story short, even though they do not do reservations the General Manager Justin went completely out of his way to insure my group all sat together and at the same time, i had just got married that morning and he took a huge amount of stress off my shoulders and i was able to relax and enjoy my day, he came out to greet us before we even stepped foot into the building, the whole staff was very warm and welcoming and our servers were amazing, my party was pleasantly surprised at the drink selection and highly recommend the Bloody-Mary, the Food menu was very fun and has plenty of options if your group has different tastes & the food did not disappoint when it got to the table either, not with taste or portions. This was the first time i have been here and i will absolutely return and recommend them to anyone looking for a Gem of a spot. I seriously cannot boast enough about this place and their Fabulous Manger! read more
